    Karen: Love it! Very colorful.

Ruth: Pumpkin patches and hayrides are so fun!

It's been hot, humid, and high dew points so I've been taking it easy. Got my flu shot yesterday and still need to get my COVID, rsv, and tdap vaccines before the grandbaby is born.

Painted a few more pumpkins. I've painted 9 and have 1 more to go.

Took Nugget to our property and walked him around where the house will go next year. Going to start breaking out the Fall/Winter clothes in a bit.

    Love the pumpkins Wonderland.

Nice shot of the WWW and the pumpkin patch. Good work on getting your flu and covid shots.

Later today I bring my mom (her first trip out of assisted living) to the Dr for her flu shot…she spaces her out two weeks apart. I'll get mine both next week…two weeks before I attend a conference with 1000+ people.

Got to the gym 3 times this week…making my way back slowly.

    Happy weekend everyone! TT

I haven't been doing much except hanging around the house with dh. He tells me he's getting better but it sure doesn't look like it to me. He can't help much with household chores so I'm doing them all. I'm not complaining bc he has been there for me in my hour of need. I just want him to feel good and be able to move like he did before hurting his back.

NC mountains are receiving lots of donations and help. There will be areas that will never be the same. 2 major universities are still out of class. Towns gone. Some Cities/towns with water treatment plants are still out of potable water bc of damage to the plants or distribution pipes. Many people are unaccounted for. So many hollars and back roads destroyed. We lived in the mountains for 6 years many years ago and I wonder if the house we owned then is still standing or damaged in some way. And now another hurricane has formed and hitting FL again. Sigh.

Good news is that the weather is supposed to be cooler and less humid tomorrow. I will outside (hopefully) pulling weeds, trimming etc areas that haven't been touched since dh hurt his back. I've been looking forward to it bc some of the bushes looked awful.

Meant to add that I also got my dtap shot. Ds and partner want us to get the flu, COVID, dtap, and rsv shots bc of the baby. Wish they had voiced this earlier. Got my flu shot last week, dtap on Saturday. Will probably get the rsv later this week or weekend. Then I will only need the COVID shot. Last October I took the flu and Covid shots at the same time. 2 weeks later I started having afib episodes. In my head I have blamed it on taking the 2 shots at the same time. That's what I think and I'm sticking with it lol. That's why I'm waiting to take the covid one last.

When does DH get an MRI, Wonderland? If one has not yet been scheduled, be the squeaky wheel!!

  • wonderland
    wonderland Posts: 3,068

Dh has to finish the PT first before discussing MRI. He goes one more time this week and one time next week. I will definitely try to be the squeaky wheel after that!

What a difference a day makes. The weather was in the 70s and the dew point was in the lower 50s. I got to trim and pull weeds for hours and it felt great. Plus the areas I worked in look great as they were really bothering me. There are other areas (there are always other areas lol) but I'm very happy with my results today.

I also had a short visit with a friend and her dh. He had a knee replacement and she's been taking care of him. I was able to bring her pumpkin to her that I painted for her birthday. She loves Harry Potter and owls so I painted the Halloween at Hogwarts pumpkin for her.

I went to Barre & tried a kettleball class, which I did NOT enjoy! I think it's for people about 30 years younger than me!

Every year a family in town turns their lawn into a 'haunted graveyard' (with freewill donations to the local food pantry accepted). So that was today's destination for the Wednesday Walking Women.

Autumn arrived this week and I am so happy. It's my favorite season. The temperature today was 70 degrees and the dew point was in the 40s. The temperature will be in the 40s tonight so a few minutes ago I turned on the heat for the first time. 5 days ago the air conditioner was needed.

Walked earlier and then went to Walgreens to get my rsv vaccine today.

Also stopped at the library to pick up The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Had never read it but have been in the area in New York. Perfect day to sit outside and read a classic tale near Halloween.

I talked to my sister today & she is also enjoying the cooler weather! It was nice here too. I went to the pilates/stretch class, cleaned the house & went on a dog walk.

Beautiful day. Thankful the NC mountains are having good weather to help dry up areas to allow rescuers and volunteers to get to trapped people. Hopefully Florida is also having decent weather to aid in their recovery.

Had a zoom meeting this morning. Sat outside in the sunshine and read. Went for a walk in late afternoon.

Gorgeous day. Went to church. Sat outside to get some sun and snoozed a little. Went for my walk.

Grandbaby's due date is in 7 days!

    How exciting, Wonderland!!

I was busy most of Saturday but managed a little walk. After Yoga this afternoon, some of us took our teacher out for dinner. In two weeks she is moving to California (she met a guy……). Exciting for her, but we will really, really miss her! We have freeze warning for tonight & tomorrow night. I covered up some flowers & brought some hanging baskets into the garage because it's supposed to get nice again after that (although I know I am just delaying the inevitable). Fall is beautiful but kind of sad.

I know you will miss your yoga instructor. It's nice that some of you in the class took her out for dinner.

Brought my car to have the front brakes replaced. Walked. I am so in love with this weather!

It was brisk this morning (as in 27 degrees), but warmed up nicely throughout the day. We will have a carpet of leaves to pick up tomorrow! I tried a new class 'Core & More'.

Went to dentist this morning to remove my temporary crown and have the permanent one placed. This is a different tooth than the one I had an implant earlier this year. The final step of that tooth (crown) was completed in July. All was well until a couple of weeks ago and the crown started moving thus causing pain. Long story to the end: I had to have the crown removed bc for some reason it became loose. I have to wait a couple of weeks to let the area heal and then have the crown reconnected to the implant.

I have a good friend who has lots of teeth problems. Her only response to me when I told her about this tooth was, "I hate teeth." I thought it was perfect considering all of her implants/crowns/gum problems.

    Walked late afternoon.

'My Core & More' class is actually the same class that was previously named 'Barre', the teacher just changed the name!

We had a brisk walk this morning!
