Beautiful day. Thankful the NC mountains are having good weather to help dry up areas to allow rescuers and volunteers to get to trapped people. Hopefully Florida is also having decent weather to aid in their recovery.

Had a zoom meeting this morning. Sat outside in the sunshine and read. Went for a walk in late afternoon.

Gorgeous day. Went to church. Sat outside to get some sun and snoozed a little. Went for my walk.

Grandbaby's due date is in 7 days!

    How exciting, Wonderland!!

I was busy most of Saturday but managed a little walk. After Yoga this afternoon, some of us took our teacher out for dinner. In two weeks she is moving to California (she met a guy……). Exciting for her, but we will really, really miss her! We have freeze warning for tonight & tomorrow night. I covered up some flowers & brought some hanging baskets into the garage because it's supposed to get nice again after that (although I know I am just delaying the inevitable). Fall is beautiful but kind of sad.

I know you will miss your yoga instructor. It's nice that some of you in the class took her out for dinner.

Brought my car to have the front brakes replaced. Walked. I am so in love with this weather!

It was brisk this morning (as in 27 degrees), but warmed up nicely throughout the day. We will have a carpet of leaves to pick up tomorrow! I tried a new class 'Core & More'.

Went to dentist this morning to remove my temporary crown and have the permanent one placed. This is a different tooth than the one I had an implant earlier this year. The final step of that tooth (crown) was completed in July. All was well until a couple of weeks ago and the crown started moving thus causing pain. Long story to the end: I had to have the crown removed bc for some reason it became loose. I have to wait a couple of weeks to let the area heal and then have the crown reconnected to the implant.

I have a good friend who has lots of teeth problems. Her only response to me when I told her about this tooth was, "I hate teeth." I thought it was perfect considering all of her implants/crowns/gum problems.

    Walked late afternoon.

I need a Core and More Class!!! Let us know how you liked it, Ruth.

Got back home from my walk at 6pm. 56 degrees, light breeze, dew point is 35. It felt so good.

'My Core & More' class is actually the same class that was previously named 'Barre', the teacher just changed the name!

We had a brisk walk this morning!

Dh has kinda good days and then kinda not good days and has hardly left the house. He has driven the car 5 or 6 times in the last 2 months. Today he went on a few errands and now he's in pain. Going to be getting an orthopedic appointment. He's tired of this and so am I!

Met a friend for lunch today. Her dh had his knee replaced September 25 and she has had a time with him. Luckily he is now turning the corner and is improving.

I then met another friend for a walk. She talked the majority of the time and had lots to get off her chest about her family. I felt a little drained afterwards bc I was her sounding board.

Then I visited my friend who is paralyzed from the waist down and has dementia. She now lives with her sister but during the day she attends an adult day care. Yesterday was her birthday so I gave her a tie dyed shirt my ds made just for her. It was a good visit.

Speaking of ds, no grandbaby yet!

Edited to add: I also hope things are good with you, Karen.

You should get paid for your counseling services, Wonderland! I sure hope DH can get some answers ASAP!!

Except for 2 short dog walks (short because it was both chilly & rainy!), I took yesterday off. I slept in, read the paper, drank coffee, went to lunch with friends & to a college volleyball match.

I went to Yoga today, did some yard work & went on a nice long dog walk out at a recreation site which is very quiet this late in the fall.

Dh has an orthopedic appointment for this coming Wednesday!

A nice long dog walk in a quiet area sounds wonderful, Ruth. I spend 2.5 hours this afternoon cleaning the garage. Since we have someone doing yard work I haven't been in the garage much. Dh couldn't help so I was able to threw lots of things out that he will never miss. 😁 The trash cart is full!

In the morning I met dd for coffee and walked around town.

I've been MIA, but all is good. My younger daughter has been here for 3 weeks and my older daughter and granddaughter arrived last Wednesday. They both leave on Sunday 10/27 but different times of the day. Busy with work, PT, cooking an holidays. The house will be so quiet when they leave :( My granddaughter hs quite the personality. She is a busy girl and babbling non-stop. My son came for dinner on Rosh Hashanna and he is coming for dinner Tuesday night. Got a nice picture of the kids and my husband, celebrating his birthday.

Waiting for DD#2 and her friends to come back from Rocky Mountain National Park. I'm sure they will be exhausted. Grilling burgers, fries and cole slaw.

I need to work on a report tonight. Be well.

Karen: So good to hear from you. You have been enjoying your family and I'm so happy for you! Your granddaughter is feeling the love of everyone in her family. That is so special.

Today is ds's baby's actual due date. But baby has decided that today is not the day.

We don't plant a fall garden so today I worked in the garden for many hours preparing it for winter. Pulling up plants, deweeding, putting items away, etc. Not finished but feel good with what I did.

I am so glad that your whole family could be home at the same time, Karen! It makes for such a fun, busy time. Especially with a little one involved!

I am sure you are waiting by the phone, Wonderland!

Another gorgeous day here. We had yoga outside, which was delightful. It was the last Sunday class with our teacher who is moving away. Her final class will be Thursday (boo hoo).

Finished prepping the garden for winter. The only thing left are marigolds. They will remain until the first frost then I will complete covering the areas.

Went for a walk this afternoon. Our weather has been absolutely gorgeous. Thankful that no rain is in the forecast so our mountains can continue to dry out and start rebuilding. The pictures are heartbreaking. UNC-Asheville has gone virtual for the rest of this semester. Public schools have not reopened in many areas. The worst natural disaster in NC ever.

Wonderland, I am glad the weather is cooperating so people can start to rebuild. What a sad, sad situation!!

It's beautiful here too. I went to Zumba, did some shopping, walked a bit in the park with Bruno, a friend & her dog, went to the dentist, let the neighbor dog out (Bruno & I played with her for awhile), and then to HIT. I have also been washing bedding all day & have another load to go. I'm tired just reading this!

I'm tired just reading it too! I just finished cleaning the bathrooms and now I'm thinking of all the other areas I need to clean. Must remind myself One Spot at a Time!

When the kids were in middle school and high school I remember getting up one morning and cleaning the bathrooms at 6:30am. I'm not a morning person but this was the only time that week I had to do it. I realized it was ridiculous and something had to give. Decided to slow down and try my best to say No more often. It helped.

25 minutes on the exercise bike yesterday

    Good to see you, M0mmy.

Got my Covid shot today so decided not to walk this afternoon. Instead I started cleaning house and clearing out some cluttered areas in the house - those areas where things get placed with the intention to address them soon but don't (at least in my house). My sil and bil came over for a nice visit and my house looked decent!

Watched dogs play (a friend & her dog came over, and I let the neighbor's dog out twice), went to lunch with some friends & went to the Core class.

Did some cleaning around here and did hubby’s laundry before doing a 25 minute workout on the exercise bike.

Here's the outside walkers. There was another contingent that walked inside……which means the seasons or changing!

That looks cold! We reached 80 degrees but with a low dew point it's not bad at all.

Update on dh: He finally decided he was ready to see an orthopedic doctor so he made an appointment and we went today. His symptoms have changed. The pain in his lower back is still there but not as bad as when all this started. Now he has pain down the side of his thigh and to his knee. Dh was afraid he twisted his knee when he tried to move the heavy yard cart that started all of this. Today the PA ordered a knee xray. It was ok, only showing a little arthritis. He pulled up on the computer the back xray dh had at our hospital a week after the pain started. The PA said even though it's not showing anything he thinks there could be a slipped disc causing a pinched nerve thus creating the 24/7 hours of pain. Now, initially our insurance company denied a MRI until dh had 6 weeks of pt. The PA said dh definitely needed one and he can request one using a peer-to-peer order (or something like that) so dh will FINALLY be getting a MRI! We are currently waiting to hear from the scheduler. Should hear from them tomorrow or next day. Fingers crossed!

My 2 sisters and sil were in Hilton Head for the week last week. They like to ride bikes while there as it's very bike friendly. When I went on the trip with them last year I only rode a bike on the beach but they would ride on the sidewalk bike paths. On their last full day there one of my sisters fell off her bike while going up a curve (she was going slow). Had to call an ambulance bc she broke her wrist trying to stop the fall and was in a lot of pain. Got to the hospital and they put her under to align all the broken pieces. She was able to have an appointment with a hand specialist on Monday and today she had surgery to put in a plate and pins. I feel so bad for her!

    No baby yet.

No exercise today. I think I need a drink lol.

Oh for goodness sakes, Wonderland, that is terrible about your poor sister!

I am SO glad DH is finally getting an MRI!

I am sure you are all getting antsy for that baby to arrive!

Went to visit my sister today. She lives about an hour from me. She lives alone and needs help so my other sister (her twin and who lives closer than me) has been staying her. Her 25 pound dog is very old and can barely walk - she has to be carried just about everywhere. My sister is doing well but she will not be able to pick up the dog. I really need to talk with my other sister to make some type of plan……..

The mri scheduler didn't call today. I'm calling first thing in the morning……..

    No baby yet…….

I did get in a short walk. Exercise very important for my mental health right now.

Definitely take some time for yourself each day, Wonderland!

I went to HIT this morning. Our old neighbor (who moved to Arizona) was back in town for the day & came over for a visit. It was very fun to see her & to hear that her son is buying a house in town to turn into a Bed & Breakfast……. he will let her (and her dog, Ivy, who is Bruno's girlfriend) rent it for 2 months in the summer. Yea!

I did some more yard work, went to Dance2fit & Yoga (this was the very last class of the teacher who is moving away).

A little walking & a lot of leaf raking.
