@kbl Im so sorry about Abby. It’s so hard with pets, when they are in pain and when aging with illness. I hope this cool laser therapy and the meds help her heal! Sending love and light to all three of you. Hugs 🤗

We made the awful decision to euthanize. She was not peeing, and to see her dragging herself is not the dog she would have wanted to be. We had to take her 60 miles in the pouring rain to the emergency vet. Our hearts are broken, but we know we did what was best. I don’t think she could have recovered, and I didn’t want my husband to have to deal with two of us at the same time.
My beautiful Abbey!

See you Monday!

Heartbreaking. We had a dog named Abby and it was terrible when we had to say goodbye

My dog's life expectancy is about the same as mine now, so I imagine us going into the great beyond together. As I often say to my husband, dogs are people, too.

@tougholdcrow I told Abbey I’d see her on the other side. Who knows? Ours had us wrapped around her little paw for sure.

@kbl It is heart breaking 💔.I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet Abby. I love her picture ! Sweet and long memories , loving and full and tears as they come. It was an act of love to let her go before the pain got too much. Sending hugs to you and your husband.
@tougholdcrow indeed. May we all meet in the astral some day 🌈🐈⬛🐶

Condolences. It’s hard to do the kind thing even when you love so much you want to be with them forever. Hugs

KBL - I also posted on another thread, but I want to again, tell you how very sorry I am about Abbey. I really like the idea that you told her you'd see her on the other side. I really like to think that that is what happens. Thanks so much for sharing her picture with us. She looks so sweet and lovable. Sending hugs your way!

@tanya_djamila missed you last week. So sorry to hear you gad Covid. What a bummer, with all that's going on with you. But you've been so strong and positive even when sharing all these developments. You're a model of courage and I wish you all the best.
@kbl sorry to hear about Abbey. I pray she gets better. I also pray for your husband as he internalised what you're going through.
To everyone, looking forward to see you all later today. Sending my love, hugs and prayers for your well being. And to the @moderators you're the best ❤️

@Rosebessie Thank you. Sadly, we made the decision to euthanize. It’s guilt producing for sure, but we will be okay. She isn’t suffering anymore. 💕

@kbl didn't have a chance to ask at the meeting today, how are you feeling otherwise? Hugs again during this time of grieving and letting go. ❤️

@rlschaller Hi, Rhonda. I’m so glad you’re doing well on the new med and. It having horrible side effects.
At a little over 18 weeks off the meds, I’m having some nausea and fatigue but just up a tick. For the most part, I feel pretty much the same. I will take it. After losing Abbey, I feel like I need to stick around for my husband. Not that I have a choice, but I hate the thought of him being totally alone. It’s just so weird to think we had dogs our whole entire 40-year marriage. That chapter has ended, and my husband has never been alone. He went from a young guy at his parents’ house to me. Thank you for asking. 💕

@kbl - so sorry to read about Abbey. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband.
Catching up on the posts I missed while we were away. Got back this morning.

Have missed everyone so much. We just got back from our cruise this morning. Am really glad to be home after 3 weeks. The ship was beautiful, except for the norovirus I caught on the second day (1/6). After immodium didn't seem to work, I went to medical on the 9th. They gave me more imodium and electrolytes to add to my water and made me isolate in our suite for 24 hours. Although my only symptom was the awful D, I don't think I have ever experienced real diarrhea in my life (Verzenio has never caused me this in the 4 years I have been on it). Have a new prospective for all of you who are having this terrible side effect. I was beginning to feel a little bit better thanks to watching my diet and keeping hydrated until this morning when I was in the bathroom for almost 4 hours ( what a way to celebrate the lovely birthday dinner we had on board last night). So sick from both ends. Didn't know whether to sit or stand. Thankfully the immodium worked by 5am.
Was planning to be on the Zoom call this afternoon, but instead was at the doctor's office. Am having an issue with fluid building up in my foot and leg. He thinks it is because I am dehydrated despite drinking 2 to 3 liters of water every day. Hoping elevating my leg and drinking more (he suggested gatorade for the electrolytes). Hope this works. Have an appointment on the 23rd for a dynamics test on my blatter and a brain MRI on the 24th.
Hope to see everyone next Monday.

@going2beatthis Thank you, Fay. It’s been a rough time.
My goodness, that does not sound fun. I’m so sorry you got so sick and got sick again this morning. I’m glad you were able to enjoy some of the cruise. Happy birthday. I hope they can figure out the swelling issue too. Goodness. I hope you can rest tonight.2 -
@kbl - thanks.

wow @going2beatthis what a series of things to take care of on the cruise, from both ends no less! Glad you are back safe and sound. Even though it doesn’t stop….at least you are home. That alone would make me feel better. The body ! Funny about hydration . I hope the tests coming up and appointments give you some info to work with for lasting relief . I love your spirit 💕 Happy belated birthday. I hope through it all you had fun.. keep us posted. Have missed you!

KBL sorry for you guys losing Abby so suddenly and at this time. Sending hugs.
Going2beatthisfay happy birthday. 🎉 I hope your doctor appointment goes well. Sorry you were so sick on the cruise.
Rosebessie thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Just living the life with whatever test comes my way. The support in group is amazing.
I appreciate you all

@tanya_djamila Thank you, Tanya. I’m working through my grief and guilt day by day. I read a good book about losing a dog today and may read it again. I hope you’re doing okay. You have not had an easy time lately. Sending hugs.

@kbl I'm so sorry about Abbey. It's extra hard when they go from being okay to not okay overnight.
@going2beatthis Happy birthday! Ugg to norovirus. I can't imagine having to deal with that on the ship. I hope you continue to feel better. We've been back from our cruise since Sunday and, so far, no illnesses. Ankle swelling on cruises is pretty common, from what I understand. I've heard explanations ranging from eating a richer diet, to your body knowing it's not on land, lol. I tried to be a little more careful about what I was eating, and had much less swelling. Was this your Silversea cruise?
Tanya, I hope you are fully recovered from your covid.
Intolight - in hope you and dh get over your last round of illness, and can avoid the next round of whatever the kids bring home.
I'm done with winter, now if it would just be done with us. We got 6 ½" of snow just before we left, and this cold snap as soon as we got home. Not much else going on here. Trying to get caught up on laundry - and I don't love it like you do, Mara. I had almost two weeks worth, between the cruise and snow/ cold weather (my laundry room is separate from the house, so I wait if i can).
I hope we're all staying warm and safe.
Catherine

Thank you everyone for the belated bithday wishes!
@seeq - yes, this was the Silversea cruise. And yes, I was very careful about what I ate. All the restaurants were really good about preparing my meals sans salt! My ring was never tight, so I know I was being successful with that. Was able to get an appt with my othopedist for this afternoon. My GP thinks the swelling is from dehydration but still want to hear what the ortho thinks. Will keep you posted.
Sorry I missed yesterday's Zoom meeting. Hoping to see everyone next Monday!
Today I have the urodynamic blatter test this morning, Tomorrow Brain MRI. My RO appt had been scheduled for 1/29 but apparently he has changed his clinic day from Wednesdays to Fridays. Nice of them to inform me (lol) but at least I realized it yesterday when I did not get the message to "pre-check in" which comes 1 week before my appointment. New appointment is now on the 31st.
Next mo appointment isn't scheduled until 2/12 with labs on 2/7. Can't believe I haven't had blood work since 11/19/24. Depending on results of brain MRI, will decided if I need to make it sooner.
While, time to shower and start my day. Not looking forward to the "colder" weather the next few days. I know, with what you are all dealing with, I shouldn't be complaining 😗 but my body can't take these 50s (especially when it is so damp).
Stay warm!

Hi everyone,
I'm checking in because I'm not going to be able to join the Zoom call again until February 17th due to work conflicts. It's such a weird series of events, but each of the VPs in my executive leadership chain has scheduled a meeting on Monday at 11am Pacific for the next three weeks. (Plus, I missed last Monday due to a work conflict.) Unfortunately, I don't have the option not to attend or to reschedule these meetings, so I won't be back for a month. ☹️
I'll be getting the results of several scans over the next couple of weeks, so I'll be sure to post here if I find out anything significant. Fingers crossed that everything will be stable, and no news is good news. See you all on February 17th!
Cheryl

@temerarious Oh, shoot, Cheryl. I didn’t see this before I wrote you back. You will be missed. I’ll be thinking of you for your scans. 💕

@temerarious - long time, no see. You have been my thoughts often. Between my being away or unable to get on a Monday Zoom meeting since early December and now you being away till the middle of next month it seems like months since we were last on a Zoom together.
Wishing you the best results on all your scans.

This past week was a really crazy week for me what with still not being 100% back to normal. After getting home from our 3 weeks away on the morning of the 20th, have spent more time with doctors than ever in one week. Between seeing GP, Orthopedist, attempting to get a urodynamic bladder test that was sceduled at my urogynocologist (PA was sick so had to rescedule after waiting more than 1 hour), going to the ER for a doppler scan of both legs because of swelling (thank goodness NO clots) and having my brain MRI, next week should be a walk in the park...only have an MRI of my ankle and a followup teleconference appt with GP (re ER visit) on Monday morning and an appointment with my RO on Friday to review the results of my brain MRI.
Have a great weekend. Hope to see everyone on Zoom meetings next week.
