Good Morning, Loungettes! Here it is noontime and I just realized that I have been on the BCO boards yet this ayem. Have been getting laundry and housework done, though. Got to run into town and do some errands in a bit. Waiting for the guys who are trimming the trees along the road to get past my place so I will be able to see better getting out of the driveway. Sadie is having a blast supervising them!
Cammy--Yes, I have racked up too many work hours, and that has got to stop. In a couple of weeks that will pretty much take care of itself, as the now main office will no longer have first right to my time and energy. But for now I am going to enjoy the long weekend! I so wish things were easier for Leslie and your cousin. All the waiting is so hard, and the daily treatment stuff is harder still. It feels like it will never end. That is some hair!Like the color of the outfit, not sure what to call it, though?A dress? Tunic with leggings? Ruffles and rubber?
Chi--oh my, your fingertips turning black!I can just imagine the reaction of some of the seniors, they would be old enough to remember some of the deadly pneumonia and flu outbreaks and remember seeing peoples fingertips, then fingers, then hands turn blue, then black as circulation shut down. I never would have thought about an interaction between food and the NuSkin! I can't imagine how much your wrist is hurting with all this.
Goldie--I don't leave the AC on for Sadie, I leave the kitchen door open so she has free run of the house and yard and that would drive up the electric bill. The yard has places that are always shaded and stay pretty cool even in the hottest weather, and even in the hottest weather Sadie frequently will be found lying on the deck in the full sun.I got some of the chili, and it was VERY good!

Hi girls,
Wow weeee, I am tooo many pages behind. Sorry I have been M.I.A. I think it has been about a month since I have visited which is the longest period ever. I got a part time job which is better than nothing but it is unrelated to what I have done in the past and does not pay too well. I am working at an Infiniti car dealership as a cashier. The job is okay, lots of hot salesmen around here (I am at work now, sneaking onto the internet). Anyway, I just wanted to check on mese goils and say hello. Sooooo hello!

Goldie, wishing you a very happy birthday, sorry this wish is late. But ....no way you are 60????? HOW can that be? SMH! Liar liar pants on fire lol. You look so much younger than your years. Love the new avatar btw. Would like to see more of that beautiful smile though, you have the prettiest smile girl!
Cammy. I heard you calling my name and came running as fast as I could. I am not as young as I used to be so a little slooooooooooow~
Hi to everyone in the lounge and
more chEeRs!

Dara- hey girl, congrats on the PT job. I predict you would make an excellent sales person yourself. Do they have any women sales people? I prefer to buy my cars from women, but there not always women in the service or sales business. Women are usually the final decision makers because they have to drive children around, etc. We know what matters to women with respect to safety and other things, especially when taking around children, elderly parents, etc. And we know that women are the ones doing that, right?

Hi Ladies,
Oh Lori I'm so glad u got to have some laughs with ur mom, it;s time. It just feels right. And Muddling yes Lori knows she's met Leslie and my now HS grandson Joey. And yes Leslie joined our cancer life a few months back with Stage III and goofy complications remindig me so much of some of what Dara had, which I'll never forget seeing and now Leslie has this tiny hole and I don;t want to even look. My cousin <Joanne> got cancer back and my sister is also stage IV and one if her DD;s is stage III, so our whole family is all over the place with this Bastard. We're a close family> LOL
DARA good to read u and a job, whatever it is fr now is good. How r u feeling??? We miss u here, ya know. Jazzy's right tho look into sales, u'd be great at that.
Lori I guess I thought Melrose peppers were all over the place by now. Yrs. ago we used to get then in Melrose Park as the article said and bought them at a huge produce place called Naples and u could buy them in bulk. LOL So my mom and aunt would get bushels and make them up for winter cuz u couldn't buy them at all in winter, they were very seasonal but oh so good anyway u fixed them. They are thinner skinned than bell and a little sweeter, actually super good.
Jeez there I go bout me and my family again, as usual, u know I do have friends and of course my men, now I'm bragging LOL Yea my 10 X 10 bedroom/office will hold 'em all.

Cami, I never heard of "Melrose" peppers--must be a west suburban thing. We do get Cubanelles, which are a little paler than the Melrose in the photo but quite sweet--that's what you get up here when you order sausage & peppers or ask for sweet peppers on your Italian beef sandwiches. (For you non-Chicagoans, Italian beef sandwiches are sort of like French dip, but you don't dip them yourself--you order them "dry" or "dipped," with sweet peppers or hot giardineria. Instead of dark beef "jus" that comes in a little cup on the plate with a French dip, the juice is called "gravy" and seasoned with oregano, garlic and other herbs & spices. Italian beef and gyros are, after hot dogs and "Maxwell St. Polish" sausages--more like coarse knackwurst--Chicago's favorite fast food).
I'm not gonna tell you how many acoustic guitars (mostly Martins & Taylors) & dulcimers (McSpaddens & Blue Lion) I have--but it's way, way more than two. We haven't used our fireplace in 20 yrs. because that's where we prop up the instrument cases. (It's far enough from the baseboard radiators not to dry them out). Attics are terrible places to store instruments--heat rises. And if you don't have a whole-house humidifier (we don't because we have hot water heat and thus no ductwork), keeping acoustic guitars out on display can be a recipe for disaster unless you have large-volume portable humidifiers running constantly when the heat or A/C are on. (We had a couple of large humidifiers fail epically--including flooding). Gordy ruined his guitar (fortunately, not a very expensive one) by keeping it out on a stand in his room, which got very hot in winter. Had to have cracks repaired several times before I gave up. Amazingly, though, basements can be a stable environment--they stay about 60-70 degrees year round, with decent humidity--for guitars kept in cases. I recently came across one I hadn't played or opened its case to fill its soundhole humidifier in years--it played and sounded great. We have friends who actually turned one bedroom into a guitar room--with custom thermostat, humidifier, and special seals for the door.
Dara, congrats on the job!

NM, I didn't think you left the AC on for Sadie, indeed that would get expensive. I usually just look online for recipes, but haven't had a "great" chili recipe. Unless it's just that things don't taste as good when you make it, verses when someone else does!
Welcome back Wacko! Glad you were able to at least find a PT job. Shame on you for being gone so long. How are you doing? And if I remember correctly you were having trouble wif da tummy? And what about that handsome young man in your life?
Cami, I'm surprised that I have never seen those peppers in our area, and don't remember ever seeing them in Michigan even. I'll have to look for seeds and try them next year in the garden. Yes, laffing with mom was great. One of the things we laffed at was, she has one of those grabber sticks, well my brother and his partner were visiting her, and she was telling me how she was trying to grab their "junk" with her stick. YES, she said junk!
Wow Sandy, so odd that those peppers are popular in Chicago and you have never heard of them. They must be some special peppers! DH's favorite place in Chi Town is Gino's pizza. We have one here now in Phoenix, been 3 times. He loves that pizza that has a whole sausage patty on the top of it.
I got 9 half pints of zucchinni relish yesterday. Gonna try my hand at some homemade ice cream today. 3 ingredients and no machine.
Can you guess who is having a birthday today????

Mornin' Ladies,
Sandy I know ur a retired attorney but music is certainly ur first love. And because of that u have a great retirement planned for u. <except I;m sorry for all the complications of illness that went with it> U have also so many interests too that u are always busy, which is wonderful. OK but except for the guitar u haven;t mentioned Gordy in a while. How is he doing with Leslie <I can't get out of this bold print> Anyway I hope things are going well. <muddling that is Sandy's son and GF> Sandy I can't believe u've never heard of Melrose peppers, they have been around for at least 60 yrs, originating in Melrose Park not to far from Chicago and very good stuffed or plain. Chit now I really want some, I don't even know if there are any in the stores right now. LOL
Muddling we'll get u caught up with everyone in no time,
Jeez again I'v been writing here for way over an hr. and have said not much.
I made it here before NM, but it's saturday and I hope sadie and her are relaxing for a nice long weekend. Yes Kim I keep track of how u work.
Get this, we have no basement r family room so when Joey has his friends over they just hang out in his bedroom well he asked if Leslie and Marty could go somewhere this afternoon while he has a GIRL over to watch a movie, he didn't feel comfortable in his usual bedroom this time. Her name is Payton but for some reason I did think that name was a boy the last couple of weeks. I never asked about this, but he knows I don't bother him ever when his friends are over unless they want to talk to me and he's fine with that. So now we'll have something to talk about tonite Bwahahaha.
Next week is our company picnic and one of "My men" called we talked for a while and he's so cute and told me with our new format we don;t talk as much and he misses me and if I need him to just call, that over the yrs. he just loves me. hahaha I had to tell you. I think it's so cute. Hey I'm an old ,lady so I have to have some sillyness going on.
Well hoping everyone has a good day with fun rest, buy whatever ur choice.

Happy Saturday all - it is pouring buckets here in sunny Alberta, and I was on my way to take part in a 3 day Labour Day Flea Market, hoping to rid myself of treasures, not today that's for sure!!
Cami - no Melrose peppers here that I am aware of, so many things yet to discover
Dara - congrats on your new job - gotta love 'eye candy' as my younger friends refer to(hot salesmen) - Enjoy!
NM - we are sure not needing ac here, it has been very fall like, chilly and damp! I am sure our pets know how to find the best places to suit them, they are pretty smart and Sadie sounds super smart!!
Jazzy - if I am missing something and it is your birthday - Happy Birthday with many more to come, if not, then this is early...
goldie - the vision of your mom grabbing their 'junk' is too funny, enjoy the moment! I love to hear about your preserving, it all sounds delicious and will be enjoyed throughout the year...
Chi - storing our stuff properly is almost a full time job sometimes, I guess it keeps us on our toes
Enjoy the long weekend everyone - cheers!

Hi Janky and Teka.
Teka, I love pumpkin coffee and pie, but that's about it for pumpkin anything for me. Now my MIL loves pumpkin ANYTHING. Even found some pumpkin marshmallows, she loves marshmallows.
Janky, sorry you can't make it to the flea the flea market, maybe tomorrow?
Cami, I just got off the phone with my mom, told her what you said, she got another kick out of that. And then said that she didn't know where her stick was and for you to not only send her a stick, but to send her some men too!!!!!

Cami, yes, I'll get caught up. Sorry to read that so many in your family have this #$*& disease. Glad that you can support one another though.
ChiSandy, good info about guitars. I may have mis-named the guitar that DH inherited from his dad. I'll have to ask. FIL was such a good player and I miss hearing his music. He and MIL and almost all their friends and relatives were musical. Lots of spontaneous performances at their house, or anywhere several players were together.

Good morning friends- waking up to t-storms over here this morning, which is a nice surprise. I heard it had rained some while I was gone and found my gardens perked up and came home to some blooming mums int the gardens. I stopped yesterday to get a few final late summer perrenials to plant for the last few months of good weather (we don't get a hard freeze until very late October or even in to November). Loved waking up to the rain, very rare here in the hot southwest!
My interview went well yesterday and think I have an excellent shot at this one, and will hear this week. The final interview (senior leader) who holds the purse strings along with the three others I spoke with will be deciding this week as they want someone to start by mid Sept. On an encouraging note, this final interviewer said he was going to send me a contract to start looking at and heard I am one of two candidates being seriously considered for this work. There is also a chance for this to go to FT longer term, which I am open to as I will need the insurance (my ACA plan is really expensive now). Fingers crossed!
Goldie- you have had a stellar harvest in the gardens. To answer your question about looking for new work all the time, sometimes it can be easier than others, but the last few years have been much harder. This work I am waiting to hear on may go to FT as we go along and feel ready for that. I want to work with some folks where I can enjoy my work and offer my best skills until I can retire. Have you been able to sell your business yet?
Cami- kids do need a private space to hang with their friends or spend time with someone from the opposite sex. We had a family room where I did that, but sounds like Joey needs a place where he can have some privacy. A nice evening out for Leslie and Marty would be a good thing so Joey can have a girl over. Cami in the house to chaperone, although we know Joey is a great kid and probably does not need much of that. But think the girl's parents would want that.
And your men are after you girlfriend? Cami and her boyfriends. I hope you continue to enjoy them!
Chi- I play the violin and had two at one point and after I drove out here and had one in the car during the move, it ended up with a crack (even though I brought it in every night to the hotel room). We have a really good violin shop here who repaired it. I have sent our family violin back to the family to pass it along to a younger relative, but still have my primary violin. I have not not played it in awhile but keep it in a cool room/closet and think I need to go check that since I have not played in awhile. It is not a super expensive violin, but the wood. I hope you can get your guitars where you need them to be. Cami is right, music is your first love (mine too). I knew I could never make a living at it though. My grandmother told me to always to keep playing even if I did not choose it for a career.
NM- what fun things will you and Miss Sadie do this weekend? Maybe some time by the water? I think your new job is starting this month? Hope you are enjoying the last of summer as I know summers are very short in New England. I was so glad to be back there in the summer as I really miss coastal NE the most then.
Mema- thinking of you sister and we are going to be in your pocket with all that is coming up friend. Sending much love and hoping you are feeling as ready as one can before the surgery.
What fun things are people doing this weekend?
Before I run for today, I have to share this photo from the burning of Zozobra last night in Santa Fe. I did not go, and have never been to this yet since I moved here several decades ago, but they refer to this effigy as "old man gloom" and they burn it at this time of the year to let go of bad mojo. This photo really captures the essence of the gloom with the monsoons that returned this weekend. NM has some traditions like no other in the country with our various cultures.

Happy birthday, Jazzy! So glad you were able to welcome the rain. Fascinating how many different cultures there are in the SW--Spanish & indigenous are merely the largest divisions, each with their own subcultures. I vastly prefer stew-pots & smorgasbords to melting pots. Fingers crossed you not only get the job but can also do it FT.
Speaking of smorgasbords, for the first time since I was little, I seem to be a tasty banquet for skeeters this weekend. Last night during a pouring rainstorm, I heard footsteps on my covered porch & stairs, followed by an Amazon alert on my Apple Watch: "Your package containing...has been delivered." So I headed out to the porch--around these parts, you don't leave boxes in plain sight for more than a minute or two unless you never want to see your packages again. The gnats, fruit flies and mosquitoes were swarming to get out of the rain. As I wrestled each box indoors (trying not to overstress my L wrist) I felt little pinpoint stinging sensations. This morning, I must have used 1/4 of a tube of hydrocortisone ointment & Benadryl cream--especially after I went out on the deck to harvest a few more cherry tomatoes and check on the ripening progress of the beefsteak tomato we're hiding from the squirrels. (It's a uniform orange now, but firmly attached to the stalk so I'll let it be for another day or two--the longer it ripens on the vine instead of the sill, the better it'll taste).
We're planning to grill on Mon. aft. since Bob has only 1/2 day of work (full days today & tom'w), but they're predicting aft. storms for Sun. & Mon. So I'm keeping the cast iron skillets at the ready (and, if need be, a ladder to help the taller guys temporarily remove the smoke detector batteries if cooking sets them off--a hazard of searing meats on a screaming-hot skillet).
Gordy's doing fine. Leslie's been busy all week, getting lesson plans ready & tutoring (her second job because charter schools don't pay teachers all that well). She's also fighting off a cold she caught from a student (and Gordy's trying not to catch it). Their first anniversaey as a couple was last week. His improv shows are every Fri., but trying to get the troupe together for rehearsals is like trying to herd psychotic cats with crystal meth in their kibble. So the shows are as improvisational as it gets. Meanwhile, the music PR company for which he writes PT from home might take him on FT--and reimburse some of his health insurance premiums. (He pays more than we do for our Medicare Part B & D supplements, and has a fairly high deductible--but has dental & vision coverage and his drug coverage has no "donut hole").

Chi- I saw Goldie's note and thought "can't be me, I am a March baby." But heck, it's my half birthday coming up later this month so I will take the good wishes!
Remember when we used to say I am X and a half years old as kids? Always wanting to be older? We don't do that anymore, do we?

Not willingly, Jazzy. (I'm a bit more than 67-1/2). But if I get lucky enough to reach very old age, I'll celebrate every half-birthday I can.

Happy belated Birthdays to Goldie & Jazzy!!!🎉🎂
By the way, I am an avid supporter of 1/2 birthdays, I just celebrated my 43rd and a half on 8/19.
Hi all! Hope the weekend finds you well.
0 -
Mornin Ladies,
hahaha Funny stuff. Illi being 43 I don't think I'd mind saying 1/2 but since I passed 70 this 1/2 stuff is way off for me, OMG to be 43 I think that might have been a good yr, but I cant remember so I'll just remember it as a good one. Actually it wasn;t but that's OK now.
Sandy see ur like everyone else doing things u shouldnt, no wonder it takes so long to recover. But Thank you for catching us u on Gordy I always like to hear some good stuff going his way. They've been together 1 yr already. Wow good for them, he must be happy.
Lori u have to tell ur mom I'll share all sticks but never my men, they're way to hard to come by nowadays. OK I want to say something disgusting but I won;t.
Back to BD's are we celebrating 1/2 bd's now??? Why are we saying HB to Jazzy, what have I missed. Since my brain has gone backwards do we start celebrating that now too., I'm so confused. My dad always insisted his BD was 9 months before, for obvious reasons he never got the concept of being born was ur BD, of course over 100 yrs ago they all had crazy ideas. Besides he always had crazy ideas. Just like his gardens bloomed like crazy, he would sit out there and feed and talk to those little animals <he loved all nature> altho we used to watch him and LOL, he knew something we didn't. My mom would just say he's crazy. He kind of was but not officially. Actually no one liked these little critters waiting by our back door on sat. mornings. How did they know the weekend tho. Oh well.
Jodie's <my oldest DD> coming over this morning to help with my shower, Leslie still can't so I hate this but when it's over it feels so good. I get all my towels ready along with what I'll wear and Joey puts my chair in the tub and I pretend I'm the girl from Flashdance when all the water comes on me, wait I think I'm crazy like my dad...Another oh well.
Well I hoe everyone has a great day and a good long weekend.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Sadie and I had a lovely sleep in this ayem. Didn't feel particularly well yesterday ayem, just vegged around the house until time to go run some errands and then meet Mom and Dick and the crew for a bean suppah. I really live this time of year when it's warm during the daytime to do things outside but not so hot as to be miserable, and cool at night for sleeping. I am so looking forward to another sleep in tomorrow ayem, too. Sadie loves to take over all the pillows when I get up at night to go piddle. I love the cuddles.
Dara!! I was beginning to wonder if you had fallen off the face of the earth! A part time job as a cashier may not be what you want, but it's honorable work with honest pay, and some pay is better than no pay! I'm praying you will find something in your field soon.
Jazzy--It amazes me that even in this day and age that women aren't better represented in many areas of the business world, despite evidence that female employees generally benefit a company.
Cammy--I'll have to look for some Melrose peppers. I love green peppers.
Chi--those Italian Beef sandwiches sound really good.Converting a whole room for guitar storage? That is serious stuff!I bet they have some nice guitars!
Goldie--I think Chili is a bit of a personal taste thing. I'm not crazy about Chili to begin with. I've tried many recipes, usually a family member's or patient's or patient's family member's recipe, all of which are, of course, THE VERY BEST Chili ever, and while they all taste a little different, none of them are truly better than any other. I think it comes down to what you are used to, and, as you say, who made it!
Jazzy--is it YOUR Birthday?Happy Birthday!!
Cammy--It's hard to think of Joey being old enough to be entertaining girls! He's probably wise not to do that in his bedroom at this point. And you and "Your Men", what kind of example are you setting for young Master Joey? Hey, I think it's a riot, and you deserve all the silliness and attention you get!
Teka--I'm with you, I do not like the taste of pumpkin spice ANYTHING except home made pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Janky--Sadie is super smart, she has me very well trained.
Mornin', Muddling!
Jazzy--yup, the new job will start in a few weeks, officially when the pay period with Monday the 17th in it. Sadie and I will go down to the lake if the wind dies down some. The weather this summer has either been oppressively hot and humid or windy and more comfortable. But there is still plenty of time to get the kayak out, it won't get too cold for that until late October or early November. Boy, thatOld Man Gloom really does look gloomy! What an interesting tradition.
Chi--sounds like the packages could be carried off by the stinging and biting bugs as much as by thieving humans. Glad to hear Gordy and Leslie are doing well.
Happy 43rd and a half Birthday, Illi!
Cammy--enjoy your insanity, it can be fun!

Jazzy, we have not sold the business. We figure we might just liquidate everything next spring. I don't know. We got that rain too, and looking at radar, I saw it heading right to you. The cooler temps are so so nice. So glad to be have some low 80's and even the 70's this week. I'm certain you will land job you want. Well shoot, I swear I saw someone post birthday wishes to you on FB. Burning of Zozobra, sounds similar to The Burning Man in Nevada. Zobo is rather creapy looking! I saw pictures of your garden, BEAUTIFUL! And I see you have a drip system in there!
Sandy, rather scary that you can't leave packages on your porch for more than a few minutes. Are you scared in the area you live? Sorry the bugs find you quite tasty and hurting your wrist hauling the packages in. Love cooking in my cast iron skillets, burgers last night with fresh maters. I don't like all the grease that floats in the air, so I cover it with one of those screens for splatering and then place paper towels on the top to aborb the grease. LOL on "trying to herd psychotic cats with crystal meth in their kibble".
Again Cami, you crack me up. I will let mom know you are not sharing your men. OMG, if only ED would pop in more often. And go ahead and be disgusting! You didn't tell what Leslie was going through. I know the little hole, but what about these daily infusions you had mentioned.
For those who don't know who ED (Elizabeth Dahling) is, it's Chevyboy.
NM, almost bumped you into the pool. Hopefully you and Sadie will make it to the lake today. I found a site online that sells the Melrose Peppers. I will get some, but not yet, as can't plant until next year. Mom and Dick doing ok?
MY BAD....IT IS NOT JAZZY'S BIRTHDAY!

Speaking of peppers and burning man, my husband is there and told me he saw crowd around a woman putting a 🌶 up her butt! Craziness!
Also, 43 and stage 4, I celebrate every chance I get, lol. Since my actual birthday is in February, I take the whole month too 😀

Hi, NM. Glad you got to sleep in. I wanted to but I was wide awake at 6. Oh well, I slept well until then.
I might make the Gloom Lifter drink but it won't have an egg white in it LOL. The rest sounds good and easy.

Good morning friends- waking up to temps in the 50s this morning, ahhh. The air was cool and crisp last night and is also again today! Finally, the weather I have been waiting for! Lots of hummingbirds in the back yard today drinking up as they prepare begin their migrations down to Central America.
Ill- you are a youngster friend. Forty three was a good year for me (began building the house I now live in) and hope this year is good for you. May your retirement years be filled with good health and good times.
Cami- nothing better than the feeling coming out of the shower and being all fresh and clean.
Chi- although getting older brings challenges, I am grateful to have made it this far. When I saw the memorial for all the people in my class that were gone to soon, and thinking of times I was lucky to have survived something (a car accident, cancer, a ruptured appendix, etc.), I feel blessed. I don't like to volunteer my age but do remind myself living a longer life is a privilege denied to many. I still love that you called Chico's Forever 51, lol! I hope that wrist is continuing to get stronger.
Thinking today about some people I have not seen here in awhile like Hsant, Celia C, the Karens, etc. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
0 -
Actually, Jazzy, I call Chico's "Forever 61" (I didn't start shopping there till I was 62).
The package thefts aren't common on my block, but they do happen up in tougher Rogers Park and all over the city--even (especially?) affluent Lincoln Park & Lakeview. (Willie Sutton, when asked once why he robs banks, replied "Because that's where the money is"). Putting up security-cams documents the thefts but doesn't aid in apprehending the thieves. At this point, if I'm not sure there'll be anyone home at estimated delivery time, I leave instructions that packages are not to be left where visible to passerby. I'm glad Gordy's building has an attended package-delivery room, not just a vestibule.
Going outside to water the plants (no rain since last night, no more rain predicted today) and harvest some more cherry tomatoes. That beefsteak one is getting almost true red, so I will wiggle it and see if it comes off the stalk so I can bring it in. Then a nice long shower & shampoo. Been putting off the shampoo for a week--using a good spray-on/brush-out dry-shampoo instead. I really don't like to wash my hair because drying & styling it is labor-intensive (it dries too disorganized-wavy, sometimes frizzy, and those fashionable "beachy waves" don't flatter my face. I'm a straight-hair-&-bangs kinda gal). And using my L hand to style my hair does hurt--though I have been admonished not to shy away from activities of daily living that hurt (so long as I don't overdo by carrying anything >8 lbs.). Back when I expected to be in a cast for awhile, I bought one of those round all-in-one brush/dryers, but it is very underpowered. So it's back to using my hairdryer (holding it high on the handle so it's not too heavy), flatiron and brushes. It's such a good dryer that Gordy took it with him when he moved. (He has short hair, so go figure). I would love one of those Dyson dryers, but not even at the Abt "special sale" price of $349. (That'd buy me 10 shampoos/stylings at a salon--and the dryer doesn't give you a neck & shoulder massage). So I simply bought another one of the model Gordy took (Rusk W8Less--which is cheaper & faster than its heavier brandmate "Speed Freak").

ChiSandy- whoops, forever 61. I used to shop at Chicos in their really early days back in the late 1980s. There was a store in the town I lived in around the Hartford area and they had these really cool prints but the clothing was purely funky and casual. In the years since, they have really tapped in to the middle aged women's market and done well in that retail segment. I buy a lot of my better work clothing there as we have few places here for professional clothing.
We also have major problems with people taking stealing off the front porches here. They also break in to the cluster mail boxes and had some coffee stolen out of my box a few years ago. If it is not nailed down, it goes and even goes sometimes in secured settings. Big hassle. Glad Gordy has a safe place to for such things.

Ill, do tell what that woman was putting in her heiny...a pepper? All it shows is a square box.
Jazzy, I too have been enjoying the cool crisp mornings, it's when I sleep the best. However, DH does not. It was 68 in the bedroom this morning, and he was freezing! I too am missing some of our loungettes.
Sandy, we have a couple out here that has his property fenced and he must leave his gate locked, but a box or something outside the gate for UPS to leave packages in. Not sure if the box is locked or not. And not likely at all that we would have package theifs out her anyways! As for the hair, I am totally opposite, I don't look good with straight hair!

Good Mornin' Ladies, happy no work day, even for me.
Lori I really never fully explained things about Leslie, cuz it's a mystery going on and yet this is the best place to solve it. OK picture this now...a small tiny hole under her arm towards where the left breast used to be. OK got infected all red and swollen. First it was cellulitus, then some other name of infection, now a staff infection that's getting worse with everyday infusions of anti-B's, It's like no one is sure. Now how can 3 different Drs. really not know for sure but if it gets worse she goes right in the hospital. Leslie told them it sounded more like sepsis than what they're saying but they've said no. They're acting like this is rare to them, which Les can't understand cuz they are all in their 40's and never seeing this??? The PS won't touch her now of course so things are a mess with her foobs. That's why I think of Dara, but hers was much much worse. Leslie does what she's suppose to do as far as instructions but she's just getting worse little by little. Then she's gained a ton of weight for <what they say> are meds and now she's at the point of wanting to stop everything. And honestly I don't know really what to say cuz this is a mess. altho I had a bunch of messes, nothing like this to help her. And of course this spreads thru the family cuz Marty is worried and Joey quietly worries and Les. doesn't complain except when we talk. U know how I always say I want to know word for word, well that's how In explain too,mso u asked LOL
Illi u say so little but I hope ur doing OK.
Jazzy I feel the same way---we meet new people and it's so nice then we never read them again and I wonder how they are doing. Today being Monday I know nothing will be happening for you on the job front.
Kim I'm so jelly of u and sadie I had that with both of my cats and miss it so much, that was my relaxer any time of the day. And I think that's so important for so many of us.
Jeez my eyes are closing as usual I do this thruout the day everyday. Don't know why I'm always so tired. Oh well. Hope everyone has a fun Monday or at lest a relaxed one.
LUBS U ALL
