how about drinking?

Goldie, yup, a chili pepper. I don’t get it, guess I’m not hip anymore, lol. Anyway, I did see some pics of the event at night, which looks kinda pretty and fun, in a Christmas on acid kind of way.
I have quarterly scans tomorrow, results on Wednesday, hoping I’ll be posting pics of celebratory margaritas!

Happy Labor Day friends. This was what came cruising through the back yard this morning!

Storms moved through a couple hrs. ago, and temp dropped nearly 20 degrees. Still not sure they aren't coming back, nor whether the grill will dry out in time to be usable, so we'll be cast-iron-searing the steaks and eating them indoors. For reds, maybe a zin or open a magnum of Chianti; for whites, we have half a bottle of Mumm Napa Santana bubbly in the fridge, an oversupply of chardonnay, and Bob will be bringing some chilled ABC whites (anything but chardonnay) on his way home. Guests will be over in about an hour; Gordy about 5:30 or 6, Leslie at 7:30. Gonna be a late night.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Twofer Tuesday and back to work day. Looks like I didn't post yesterday, not sure how that happened! It was a wonderful sunny and warm day yesterday, Sadie and I went for a walk, actually got a good half mile in, twice as far I thought I would be able to do after so long of not doing it. Sadie loved it, she got to stop and sniff at all sorts of stuff and even snuck in a roll on something smelly. Fortunately whatever it was brushed off pretty easily! Felt go to get the walk in, but boy my back is talking to me today!
Goldie--I cook with cast iron, too, and have one of those splatter screens that I use, but I never thought about paper towels on top of that! Does it work well? Mom and Dick are doing well. Sadie and I were getting ready to go swimming when a thunderstorm blew in. Aiming for after work this afternoon for a swim.
Illi--a woman putting a pepper WHERE?WHY????
Mudddling--I don't make the drinks and foods with raw eggs anymore, either. But the recipe looked like fun!
Chi-I remember the days of heavy hand-held hair dryers. I don't bother with drying my hair any more. It goes where it wants most of the time no matter what I do, so wash, comb, pin it up if necessary, and go. Haven't even had a cut in over a year. Probably should look into getting a trim!
Cammy--Poor Leslie, I can't imagine how frustrated she must be feeling. Is she still getting any chemotherapy? It might be a good idea to put a hold on that for a while if she is. It is so hard to clear up an infection when the immune system is being beaten down by chemo. I am praying for her.
Illi--here's to sharing the celebratory margaritas!
Chi--hope the dinner went well, with good food, good wine and good conversation!
Countess Bunty Rothschild's DOTD:

Wow Sandy sounds like fun at ur house yesterday, now I can't even remember if it rained. But always have plan B in this goofy weather.
Illi I hope we all lift a glass for ur scans. And fun pic. And of course this chili pepper thing, IDK
Jazzy I can't imagine waking up to this huge balloon but it's great to see one. It look like u could almost touch it.
Well Marty took Leslie to ER yesterday and they put her in the hospital. Her one dr. said let'sget to the bottom of this thing, while her infectious disease was still playing with different anti-B's, so I'm glad cuz maybe they can see just what's going on, they are making it sound more like sepsis and seems like they need to treat it aggressively. Oh Boy, this crap just keeps on going. I'll let u know what's going on as it happens.

Cami, it must just break your heart, to watch your daughter go through this. And poor Joey, I'm sure he just doesn't know and most likely hurting quietly inside. You would think out of 3 doctors they could figure it out! I'm so sorry and sending prayers to you and the family. Glad she went to the ER, she will get the care she needs...hopefully.
Ill OMG, that had to burn! And the burning man does look pretty. Thinking of you and the upcoming scans tomorrow, know you are probably having a little scanxiety.
Jazzy, balloon season for you. I so enjoyed that balloon festival when we went. It's just amazing how many there are. Have you ever been up in one?
Sandy, hope your evening went well. Since I started doing steaks and burgers in my cast iron, the grill hardly gets used at all.
NM yes, the paper towel on top of the screen does help. I hate seeing all that grease just float up into the air. It's going to stick somewhere. I don't think the papertowel gets it all, but it does pretty good. You will see when you go to throw it away. I'm pretty sure Leslie is done with chemo and rads.
Well, I have another counter full of tomatoes. Found a recipe online for canning spagetti sauce, should get about 9 quarts, and then that should be it for the canning...thank goodness!

Wow Goldie, I wish I lived next door to you. If I knew you were having spaghetti or salsa, I'd show up at dinner time, LOL. You don't have to worry...I'm two time zones away.
NM, thanks for the DOTD recipes. I seldom have a drink these days. I have to decide if I want a drink or if I'll need tylenol for pain. Tylenol usually wins but sometimes I want a cold pina colada or even a simple screwdriver or rum and coke. Or spumante. Yum.
Cami, I really hope the doctors can get to the bottom of her infection and get her feeling better.

Thanks everyone. Yes, ugh scanxiety, it sucks. I don’t feel bad or have pain but it has put me in a little bit of a funk and I was jealous of DH for having a good time and yummy dinner in Santa Barbara last night, while I drove myself to H&P treatment yesterday in the rain and ate leftovers. I’m never jealous, I think the stress made me stupid. Anyway, I check in later 🙂

Cami- I am so sorry to hear about Leslie being back in the hospital. I pray they can get the infection under control, what ever it is. Will PM you today in awhile.....
Ill- will be thinking of you with the scan results. I have enormous anxiety with the yearly scans (they used to be twice a year) and even more so this past summer with the additional MRI. Sending you prayers and good energy for good results sister. That cabin in west Texas needs you there, fall is a perfect time for that area. And we all sometimes feel jealous of people who have not had cancer as our lives are very different after this crap vs. everyone else. Hugs friend.
I heard the hurricane Gordon is heading your way too (maybe will hit NOLA though) so be safe. Houston does not need a repeat of last summer.
NM- your nice walk with Sadie sounded like a perfect Labor Day weekend thing to do. I know when I walk my sister's golden, her nose is very busy the whole time and no doubt Sadie has many scents to check out too. Does she lift her little front paw sometimes when she stop to sniff?
Goldie- I have not been up in a balloon to date, but will go when my nephew comes to visit next year for the fiesta. It will be his 30th birthday and a perfect opportunity to do something like this to create a special memory on his milestone day. He has seen the balloon pics on FB and so excited to come visit then and take a ride too!
Chi- how did the dinner thing go? I love anything Mumm.......
Muddling- I don't drink much either but did during my trip back east and told myself time to dry out for awhile......
Hoping everyone is having a good day after the long weekend. Summer is waning, fall is moving in......

I don't know if any of you have seen this, but VICE on HBO has a new segment (maybe a year old though) on killing cancer with viruses, including the adenovirus, measles and even genetically modified HIV. Watch this, it is amazing!
https://video.vice.com/en_us/video/vice-special-re...
0 -
Jazzy, thanks for the link. I usually watch VICE right after Bill Maher (I set the DVR to run 30 min. over), he wasn't on Fri.
Ilona, in your pocket for the scans.
Cami, so sorry for what your DD Leslie is going through. Hope it's a bug for which they've got the right drug.
The party went off very well. Bob came home, slogging through an inch of water on the deck, reporting that Norwood St. was under a foot of water. (The alleys were fine; but curb drains got clogged with falling leaves). Not just that, but despite having the garage windows closed, the GFCI outlet box in the garage had shorted out again, first time in three weeks. (By this aft. it was operational again).
So we cooked indoors, all fans going, kitchen door open. Made three 1 lb. + steaks, only cut up two for the seven of us. Used some of the Santana to make an Aperol spritz. We drank a 2015 Blue Bird Pinot Noir, from Monterey County.
Gordy, here to play with the cats and pick up laundry, just went upstairs and reports that the guest room ceiling in the attic has collapsed. Two roofs ago (1987, just after we moved into the house and had to do a tearoff of a leaky 1950s hex-shingle roof), one of the roofer's workmen had been drinking and fell through the decking, rafters and the drywall ceiling. I was having a party that night, and out-of-town guests needed to sleep there, so I put my foot down and insisted the ceiling be closed back up before the crew could be released for the day. The roofer said there was another front coming through that evening but I still insisted. So they taped the panel back up, replaced the plywood decking and halfheartedly tarped before leaving. That night we had rain leaking in all over our 2nd fl. master bedroom--found out later they had used interior grade plywood and just tarred the dormer joints rather than used metal flashing. We had to have a second layer of roof put on (different company, Angie's List A+ rated) in 2010. But I think this collapse wasn't caused by rain--just by a crappy patching job and the passage of 31 years. We're having Chi. Water & Fire Restoration come out Thurs. (because of the storms, earliest they can get to us) to scope it out, and give us an estimate if it's in their wheelhouse (i.e., water damage). If not, will have to find a drywall crew that can also remove & replace a mountain of cellulose insulation. No sense patching the ceiling--just get a whole new drywall one.
Not even gonna bother with an electrician for a new garage GFCI till we get the attic ceiling done.

ChiSandy- I am a Bill Maher watcher too. I noticed he was not on Friday and caught up on his show the week before over this past weekend since I was out of town and out and about. Out of curiosity, did you watch Sharp Objects that just finished on HBO?
Wow about your roof, that is going to be some work to get cleaned up. Always something with our homes
0 -
Jazzy, I haven't been following Sharp Objects, nor most of the other hot serialized dramas these days--not enough time, even if I DVR them.
I think the roof itself is solid--it's probably that the ceiling was due to a slapdash (tape-and-mudded the broken drywall back up) repair that held up a lot longer than one might expect. Gordy noticed it start to sag a week ago, but my housekeeper & I didn't think it was worse than usual. And last night after the worst of the storms, Gordy (who'd come over with his GF Leslie for the dinner party) says it hadn't gotten worse than last week. The toughest part of the repair will be sweeping up all that rockwool, bagging it, putting up a panel, blowing it back in, and then drywalling over the entire ceiling. It'll take some heavy-duty vacuuming to get all the schmutz out of the bedding--maybe have to replace that too. Natch, my housekeeper's off for the rest of the week while her DH has a leg vein bypass graft at the V.A. tomorrow.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Hump Day! Summer is being chased out, it's not quite 50 degrees this ayem, so fresh and refreshing feeling, but it's DARK! I'm back to getting up in the dark again already! Even Sadie is looking at me funny when I got up this ayem.
Cammy--I'm glad Leslie is in the hospital getting things looked into more aggressively. I'm praying they find the root of the problem and get it fixed ASAP. Wish I could be there to help you all. Hugs.
Goldie--Yeah, that grease gets all over everything, doesn't it? Yucky, yucky. I'll try the paper towel trick. Do you wet the paper towel or does it stay in place dry? Even if it doesn't get it all if it gets a goodly percentage it's a help. Ah, homemade sketti sauce, such a yummy thing to have tucked away on a shelf for winter!
Muddling--it's fun looking for appropriately named DOTDs. I think alcohol is an underrated pain medication, but that's just my opinion.
Illi--you are entitled to a little jealousy, and scanxiety will bring it out every time!
Jazzy--Sadie doesn't lift a paw when sniffing, if she's really interested in the scent she will actually crouch down and try to get closer to it. And she does not move on until SHE is ready. Pulling on her leash is like pulling on a leash attached to a house. NO movement!
Chi--Holy moly, the problems you have had with the roof! I hope it will be covered by insurance, at least to some extent. It sounds like expensive work. And lots of work!

Mornin' Ladies,
Been here 2x and had to leave, Grrr.
Illi u should find out today about ur tests, I hope, fingers crossed, and like Kim said being jelly anything u want works now.
Lori I love using ur words u make up, they make sense and easier. U should be finishing the canning now. Oh what a job.
Well Sandy when u give a party u really take down the roof. Wow what a mess u have on ur hands and there is nothing u personally can do or clean anything. Sandy so don't try cuz we all know u will.
Oh what a mess .Leslie's in. She's now involved with 6 Drs. and all are mad. Not at her but the Dr. who gave her the anti-B's for over 2 weeks. She was on something for Strep throat. which she doesn't have and now they are trying to play ketchup to see if it works and if not within 48 hrs she has to get operated on right away??? And of course Ins. wants them to prove why she has to stay in so the drs. again are in a mess but of course they did. She's on 2 strong Anti-Bs and a Dr. came in last nite and told her they are not seeing a significant improvement so as of now doesn't look good, we'll see. I feel so bad and not once did I say "I told u so" I know I'm bad, but honestly I had a feeling with her this would happen, after all we always said Murphy was an optimist and it's pretty much that way.
I left here 4x'x already chit. I'm all confused , be back later.

Hi friends- happy hump day!
Cami- oh that is awful about all the doctors arguing about Les and her not having the right Anti-B's. Taking the wrong ones makes it tougher when you need to do the right ones. I hope they can get her better and home soon. So hard for your family.
Chi- will someone do the sweeping of those materials? I know your hand is still healing.....
NM- my sister's golden holds up her paw and points when something is interesting. But like Sadie, she is like a rock when something comes up that she likes and wants to hang out with and no budging while you pull the leash with a "let's go".
Good news is I have the new contract, we finished negotiations today and the final contract is coming today and I am going in tomorrow to meet the team! Whoot!

Cami, hope Leslie's docs can agree and finally get this straightened out. What would the surgery be if the bugs keep resisting the drugs?
Turns out the ceiling fell because the patch job was shittty...and 31 years old. Roof is holding up fine. Contractor (new) inspected it, and gave me an estimate of $700 for cleaning up the debris and installing a fresh drywall ceiling. Sounds low-ball, but will budget extra just in case. Work starts Tues. (first date available). Plumber coming tomorrow because the sump pump keeps cycling on & off ever few seconds. Wanna make sure that's because it's doing its job, not burning out its motor.
Submitted my medical cannabis app. this evening. Now will have to wait 3 mos.

Stable scans! Party time 🎉
0 -
Ill- congrats on good scans. Celebrating the right way I see!
Chi- roof stuff is such a hassle. I hope things get cleaned up easily. Keep taking good care of yourself too.
Someone asked me recently about my music and if I had been keeping up with playing. The answer was a big fat NO, but a young music friend of mine hosted a jam session tonight at a place downtown that does these every wed night. I had not been in ages and had the best time. There were some phenomenal male vocalists tonight. I had the best time!

Drywall guy was here this a.m.--says the ceiling collapsed because it was basically patched with spit & scotch tape >30 yrs. No water damage--rafters & underside of roof decking are dry, as was the insulation. So he'll clean everything up and cover it all with an entire new ceiling (not patch the hole) for $700.
Physical therapy was brutal today but I have made much progress with ROM--in fact (despite the pain), pronation & supination are w/in normal limits. We've begun working on strength. Had my second "pot-doctor" appt. today and filed my application online. (Fingerprints no longer required). She says that though hemp CBD oil will help ease my joint & muscle symptoms from letrozole, the strength available at the medical dispensaries will be much more potent (some of it containing CBN too) and probably give far greater relief. She says to keep the THC:CBD ratio no higher than 1:8 in order to avoid psychoactive effects. She also warned that most dispensary edibles, besides being loaded with sugar, are higher in THC and I should avoid them unless I want to get high (which I don't). Anyway, it should take about 3 months to get my MMJ card.
Dinner was fish & chips & slaw at Cellars--drank a flute of cava.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday! I am definitely getting up in the dark now. And I am definitely NOT liking it. Yeah, I know, such is life, cope with it. Sadie doesn't seem to mind, but then she gets to go back to sleep!
Cammy--Poor Leslie. And I am so upset with the first doc, the one who has been ignoring what is going on.And I'm mad at the insurance company, they don't need to be adding to her stress right now.
Jazzy--Sounds like your sister's Golden may have a bit of pointer in her lineage somewhere. Amazing how dogs can become immovable objects when they want to! HOORAY on the contract!
Chi--a patch job that held up 31years? Not sure what to think about that. Sounds like you were living with a time bomb. Hope the sump pump is just doing it's thing.3 month wait on the MMJ card? Is that the processing time? Amazing how slow some of these things move.
Illi--YEAH!HOORAY!! WOO HOO!!!
Jazzy--the jam sessions sound like a lot of fun! Glad you got to go.
Chi--No water damage is a good thing. It will be good to get it fixed properly, I'm sure. There is so much to learn about MMJ use!

Mornin' Ladies,
Illi SUPER NEWS, that drink looks good.
Jazzy ANOTHER SUPER NEWS---oh so glad for this contract, and it sounds great for you. Ok missy niw get ready to get back into the corporate world---Deadlines,,,but u love it.
Kim u said it, Sandy has been living with a time bomb got over 30 years.
Sandy that quote sounds awfully cheap but if everything they do is on point then sounds good. PT is very difficult most of the time. I still do some things I was taught from rehab cuz I have to and after I'm hurting bad depending on what I did.Not my back, but always my legs they're weak and hurt all the time but after its resting time for me.
PK here's the latest right now. They have to operate and clean all bacteria out and probably remove the foob, so expect to have one, which believe me makes u feel lopsided and u lean to that side when u walk, especially if u have good size boobs or foobs. IDK all thus is just crazy. And I worry about Joey so much, he came to me to cry and of course I told him absolutely and we talked for a while. He's not going to the hospital today cuz no one wants to see their mom after surgery <I think> . And I worry about her maniacy thing more when these things happen.and she cab turn within 1/2 hr. All her Drs. have said they had never seen a manic like her before and if I try to explain it to a new Dr. they always say Oh I've seen it all, so..... but then they say I've never seen anything like it. It's bizarre. her Dr. that she finally had knew her like a book, but he's retired now so the new one hasn't seen anything yet and I hope never does. Xanax where are u now ???
OK let's see where the days beings us.

HAPPY DANCE FOR ILLI AND JAZZY
0 -
Muddling, I would welcome you with open arms and would be more than happy to share some sketti or salsa with you. The salsa is pretty mild, I can't do hot.
Jazzy, you couldn't pay me to go up in a ballon. Now a helicopter, different story, LOVE THOSE! Congrats on the new job.
Sandy, glad your dinner was a success, however, sorry about the ceiling. Like you need more to deal with! 3 months to get a MMJ card? How much will it cost you? Mine was like $300. If you do do the TCH, you can take it at night, and sleep through the "high". It will also help you to sleep. You do want to make sure it's made from organic plants, and from the bud, not stems or leaves and not CO2 extracted, but ethanol or other alcohol.
NM, I use a dry paper towel. Never thought of using a wet one. Again, your weather is so up and down.
Cami, what word did I make up? Praying for Leslie and the doctors, that they can figure out what is wrong with her. Is it that little hole you talked about that is causing the problem? Ok, I see they are doing surgery. And poor Joey, my heart hurts for him. So hard for the young ones to deal with this.
Ill, that is the most awesome news. I don't ever seem to get NED or stable. You must be feeling a great relief, NO, I know you are!
Well it's day three for the spaghetti sauce. Tuesday I spent most of the day blanching, peeling and cutting the maters up. It gets too late to do more, as I get tired. Wednesday, I chopped up the rest of the ingredients and started cooking the sauce. Got tied up with work and wasn't able to get it canned, again got to be too late in the afternoon. So, canning today. But OMG, did it smell good. You can also freeze it, but I want it canned, so I can give some away, if I so choose!
0 -
Plumber came today--it's not the sump pump. but rather the water pressure booster pump we put in when we got tired of crappy water pressure. It's >25 yrs old and leaking like crazy--so it keeps cycling every few seconds to keep the pressure up, and ineffectively at that. We unplugged it and saw very little difference in pressure. But it was about to burn its motor out--and may have been the reason for the spike in our electric bill. Neighbor is getting a new set of pipes (supply & sewer) for the basement he's finishing, but the plumber said that's coincidental. Anyway, they're putting in a new booster pump on Mon.--what with the new piping it'll need it's gonna cost more like what I'd expected the ceiling would. But we will have hotel-strength showers!
Housekeeper's DH came through surgery with flying colors--the new vein bypass is working and he's able to feel his toes for the first time in a couple of years. She'll be in tomorrow, he'll go home tomorrow night or Sat.
Bob's en route home early, but no leftovers for him--he wants to eat Mexican food (especially mole). So looks like we'll go to Mas Alla Del Sol or Edgewater Tacos (unless he wants to wait in line at Frontera Grill--Rick Bayless' original--where we have a gift certificate).
My MMJ application cost $250, for three years. ($125 for one, $200 for two). I didn't want to roll the dice that the state legislature would legalize recreational use (if Pritzker wins as Gov., he says he'd sign it), and go through all the licensure and taxing rigamarole quickly enough that it would have made sense to apply for the cheaper one-or-two-year card. The three months is an improvement--till the fingerprint requirement was repealed it took 4-6 months. Blame the delay on administrative staff shortages (budget cuts) to handle the paperwork backlog. I even had to pick the dispensary I wanted NOW--your card gets you into that, and only that one.
Meanwhile, before I left the doc's office, I bought a stronger version (larger bottle too) of the Receptra CBD oil (Plus, vs. the Prime which is for "beginners"). I had bought Hemplucid a couple weeks ago at the vape store (same price) for its water solubility, but I hated the taste & texture, and its flavoring gave me heartburn. I compared bottles: seems the 1-oz. Receptra Prime has 750 mg. CBD, the 2-oz. Hemplucid 1500, but the 2-oz. Receptra Plus has 3000--in other words, twice the strength for the same price. Receptra is ethanol-extracted from the bud, Hemplucid is CO2-extracted from the "whole plant." Moral of the story--trust the doc, not the Ayurvedic guy who sells mostly vape supplies & kratom. Anyway, I took half a dropper of the Prime, and slept like a baby. Woke up this morning to find the melatonin softgel I normally take had stuck to the bottom of my bedtime-pills shot glass, so I will take melatonin only when not taking CBD (which I took due to very sore wrist & fingers from that hand therapy session).

I started my new gig today to get debriefed on the projects and love these guys! Going to be a great contract for me and going in tomorrow for the day to do some planning with my techy dudes.
Chi- so many things going on for your house, but love that you will have great showers when you are done. I was so happy when I had my new hot water heater, nice hot water on the spot. I love mole too, and it's hard to find (but we have green chili in abundance right now as it's harvest and roasting time in New Mexico.
Exhausted and got more to do tomorrow and wish you all a good TGIF.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day! Working for the main office today. Should be interesting, no visits on my schedule yet, anyone want to make a bet on my walking in and someone saying "I didn't know you were working today"? After practically begging me to commit to as many days as possible last week. Sadie won't take the bet. She's probably wise.
Cammy--I am still praying for Leslie. Having to have the foob removed is a big blow. I hope she doesn't have a manic episode, but if she does at least she is where she has nurses who can call the doc for medications and who can keep her safe. I don't know why docs won't listen to patients and families more. I'm sure you are a great comfort to Joey. This has got to be so hard for him, too.
Goldie--hmm, now that I think of it, a wet paper towel probably wouldn't work well, since water and grease don't mix! The sketti sauce saga sounds like fun! It's a big job canning anything, but canned goods are much easier to store, no worries about running out of freezer room!
Chi--I didn't know there was such a thing a water pressure booster pump! I really would like more pressure in the shower, but figured that was something I just had to live with. I did not realize howcomplex the MMJ card process is! Or that you are limited to one dispensary. You have learned so much about that stuff, it amazes me!
Jazzy--so happy for you!

Sandy, my card is only good for a year, they don't even offer it for more. I got my card in just a couple of weeks and I can go to any dispensary in Arizona or Nevada.
Jazzy, glad you are loving the new contract and hoping it stays that way and maybe give the FT.
NM, can't wait to hear how things go in the main office today. I'm with Sadie, not taking the bet!
I'm a bit picky about who I give my canned goods to. Mostly family or someone that I feel I owe, because they did something for me. For instance, I have a neighbor that keeps me in eggs, so I will give them some sketti sauce, another neighbor always invites us for their pig roast. And if I give you something and don't get my jars back, you don't get anymore! I took some salsa to my stepdaughter and a couple of very special friends, but I had typed up all that goes into canning, starting with planting seeds in Dec.! Here is what I gave them, I may have posted before, so if I did, then skip over it. I don't feel like going and looking at previous posts. Here is a link to the recipe I used, can't wait to try it! I did not sauté the veggies.
https://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/canned-spaghetti-sauce/
Please consider yourself SPECIAL if you are receiving some canned goods from Darrell and I.
It starts in December, when we plant seeds in little 6 packs.
When big enough, we transplant them into solo cups.
Then when even bigger, we transplant into 1/2 gallon pots.
All along, setting them outside during the day, to get sun and some wind to make them strong. And then bringing them in at night. Then we plant them in the ground, and cover them with our water bags.
Almost daily, removing the bags during the day, and putting them back on for the night.
They weigh about 20lbs each.
And then install the irrigation system. Then every 2 weeks we fertilize, which requires sprinkling fertilizer around each plant and then working it into the soil.
2018, we had 40 plants.
Now to watch for tomato worms.
When the plants produce, we go out and pick and then wash them. Now to start the canning process.
Making lots of ice for the water for after blanching. Boil water, place tomatoes in for 30 seconds and then into the ice water. Set aside until they are all done.
Now to core, peel and cut up into a bowl. Which can take me all day to do, depending how many tomatoes I'm doing. For salsa, it requires hours of cutting up onions, peppers, garlic, cilantro, and other veggies/herbs. Sometimes it takes me 2 days to can a batch. The canning process, which I won't go into detail, but can take a few hours as well. Lots of sterilizing jars, boiling water.....it gets pretty hot when doing all of this. If I am pressure canning, I have to stay close by to monitor the gauge. We don't want an explosion!
SO PLEASE ENJOY AND KNOW THE WORK THAT GOES INTO THIS GIFT WE ARE GIVING YOU….

Mornin Ladies,
LOL Kim, I think ur right, They'll all be surprised to see u and who knows u might be sent home, yea right.
Sandy whew to much happening with ur house but I actually understand what's going on. Oh and u know having good water pressure when taking a shower feels great. And of course niw at this time I have a taste for Mexican food.
Lori it is a labor of love when u give away all u do. And it's so much caring for ur plants alone. I'm sure whomever u give them to totally appreciates how yummy it is. And yes u make up words, coming to mind is jelly, now I can't think of more but yes u do, and I've used them at times when no one knows what I'm talking about. LOL
Jazzy I's so very happy for u and ur new job.
Her's the latest.---the dr. cleaned everything out and put in a new foob but smaller, but everything is now all pristine. So now she's on the same anti-Bs for at least 24 hrs, but lots of pain, so she has the pump, I don't really know how effective they are---I've had them but never used it, I know it's regulated. Right now she has to stay in a lay down position, don't know why but I'm sure she'll be getting around today <I think>. So it's all good and better stay that way. Marty's been with her almost 24/7 or 31 and Joey just an hr or so a day. Enough to reassure him but not so much to see everything. He wanted to go everyday so we thought it was a good idea and Leslie made sure they had some LOLs together . So she should be home soon. I thought since she's numb there, ike most of us, it would be better but maybe an operation trumps numbness <this is not a political statement>
LUBS U ALL

Cami, glad that the docs got Leslie's implant site cleaned up, and hope the infection stays away.
Goldie, isn't it weird how MMJ laws and cards differ state-by-state? Of course, when we visit Nevada (or maybe even when we hit the Berkshires next mo. to do some leaf-peeping & chilling out), all that is irrelevant--anyone over 18 can buy at a marijuana store. The only constant is because the Fed. gov't refuses to de-schedule cannabis, it's still Federally illegal--and since one can't run a business without being able to bank or take credit cards (banking is Fed. regulated and credit cards have to be tied to a bank account), one needs to pay in cold hard cash...or perhaps barter...
Last night with the ceviche & pollo mole, I had a flute of cava. Threw my back out this a.m. (lemme tell you how much fun it was getting dressed, driving to hand therapy, and hobbling around with a cane in my L hand because the muscle spasm is on the R side of my back) and am back on the Tylenol + Advil (and a Baclofen earlier), so not sure if I'll be safe to drink tonight. Bob wants to eat at Eataly and catch a flick a block away--obviously, we'll be Ubering--but we'll see how mobile I am. Around the house I'm doing fine using a Rollator.
