Ok, I'll just cry now (about the weight gain).

Kittycat, hope that new plan is easier on you. You deserve a break!

NM, I have closet envy. Not a big shopper but my wardrobe is dwindling and I'm afraid to buy new clothes cuz I don't know what size I'm going to be after my revision and the tamox weight gain.

Maybe I should just go for some muu-muus (ahhhhh!). I tried on a loose-fitting, long blouse today and I swear I looked just like my mother. I packed all my t-shirts and anything form-fitting (almost everything I own) after the bmx and still haven't unpacked. Had my pre-op today and it sounds like I may be able to unpack sometime in September... we're trying to achieve symmetry so that I'm not embarrassed to wear clothes that fit.

Have you heard about the Nurtisystems survey? Americans would rather give up sex than gain weight. Is that an option?

Hunky--I like jeans and T's, too, but that's not really "professional attire" for a university instructor.  I've been wearing the same clothes to work for 3 years, most of it was bought after rads to hide the uneveness the rad swelling caused, so everything was loose and boxy.  I've got 4 bags of clothes to take to Goodwill to bless someone else with, and I'm glad to get rid of them! And fur-baby Sadie is coming home next Thursday!  I've got appointments all day Mon, Tue and Wed next week, then meet family for lunch and get Sadie back Thurs, then will have several days when I don't have to go anywhere to cuddle and reconnect with my silly girl.

AStorm--I put 2 boxes of things away after rads, pulled them out and subsequently put them away again after the mast, got them out the other day and found a few nice things I can wear now, and a lot of stuff that needed to be given or thrown away.  It was actually kind of fun trying all that stuff on again.  So there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

About the Nutrisystem survey--what happens to people like me-virgins?  I can't give up something I've never had, but I still need to lose some more weight.  Please dont' tell me I'm going to have to give up eating like a pig???????

    1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur
    1/2 oz Cream Liqueur
    1/4 oz Grand Marnier
    1/2 oz Cream

Kathy, I can not take credit for making that picture, that is just how I found it online.

Stanzie, please let us know how Liesl is and NM so glad you will be getting Ms Sadie home this week.

Thats all for me for right now, heading to town and have lots of stops, a movie date and lunch with hubby!

NM, I agree with the others....such a funny pic!!!!! LMAO! However, it makes me think twice about having that calorie-laden drink....hee hee! Of course, all the drinks at HTL are low-cal anyway, so I guess I can indulge to my hearts content, and not worry about looking like Big Bertha!

Heading to the HTL casino and looking for junie.......

Oh my, I almost fell out of the chair with that picture! I was so not expecting it! This truly is the best thread on the forum!

Liesl seems to be OK, If she had really been hurt I don't know how I would have dealt with that. So the smelly floors are back but finishing downstairs - Yay! The cat still got in this morning to run and pounce in the empy room and attack the plastic. That is OK today but they come soon to put on the sticky poly-erothyne - that really won't be good. I have no desire for cat hair floors no matter how chic or designer they my be.

A-storm love your avatar. I want to learn how to put a picture on.... I'm so techo-challenged especially these days!

Casino - didn't know there was one! Where Have I been?

Can I join your group? I was dx in 2008, had surgery, chemo and am now on Femara.

I enjoy life and a few drinks. Life is good again. But feel very guilty for having a drink now and again,

Life in the UK is very different to USA and I'm looking for some people who are post treatment and enjoying life.

Welcome, Mal!  The only requirement we have here in the Hot TaTa Lounge is that you like to hang out with people who drink.  All the drinks have no calories and never cause hangovers.  The Tattie Tenders, Jock and Pants, and the Wenches, Skates, Kandi, and woops, I've drawn a blank on the 3rd wenches name, must still have some anethesia brain.  Oh, wait-it's Sugah!  There is a pool with a swim up bar, a casino where the chips are free but you get to keep the winnings in real $$, hammocks, drink fountains with raspberry martinis or any other drink you want, and one with percotinis that we pull out for anyone after a surgery or procedure and in need of pain control. Anything you want the tenders or wenches can get, and they give great massages, too!

Stanzie--so glad your little Leisl is ok!  I can't imagine how I would feel if I fell on Sadie and hurt her.  When I first moved into this house I painted all the rooms, and the hall way last.  The hallway wall still has German Shepherd tail hair from Brandy, the dog I had at the time.  It's only one little spot, so I ignore it, but I can understand why you don't want cat hair on the new floors!  You'll have to put kitty in another room with some plastic to keep him/her out of trouble!

Glad everyone liked the pic.  I WAS looking for a regular drink picture, not sure how that one came up, but when I saw it I laughed out loud and thought you ladies might get a chuckle out of it, too.

Hi Mal - You are so welcome!! This is the funnest bar in town. I stopped in a while back and never left (and so far have not been kicked out). They call it the Hot Tatties Lounge (HTL). All the drinks and food have no calories and you can drink all you want without a hangover!!! goldie made a video a few pages back.

Geeeeaaawwwddd NM - You've had me laughing all day! You really outdid yourself this time! he he he he he he So glad your puppy comes home soon!

What an incredibly horrid, hysterical picture!!!   I laughed out loud.

Wahine--this is too funny--I was in the HTL casino in spirit, but in reality sitting in our local air-conditioned pub playing Keno.   Betting the odds against it being Friday the 13th--nah, no luck at all--again!!   I'm getting really irritated with that gamblin' god!!!!!    Think today is the hottest day so far--102, can only guess what it is with the heat index figured in.   Bet y'all never thought to hear me pray for rain!!

Being retired, I'm totally a jeans/t-shirt/sweatshirt fasion maven.   Any shopping I do is totally on-line (nearest stores are a $ General and Wal-Mart...).   My favorite place is Coldwater Creek.  They are kind of pricy, but sooooo nice.   I haunt their Outlet Store and every now and then can find something in my size and have snagged a few really good bargains.

Glad to hear that Sadie will soon be home--sounds like a Par-Tay to me!!!   Stanzie, hope that Liesl is doing okay and glad that you are almost finished with the repairs.

Bean/Kitty--hang in there--can remember thinking my chemo tx would never be over and then, poof!  Done!   Promise, it will be here before you realize--big hugggsssss to you!!!

Okay--grabbing me some dog beers, and everything else I can get my hands on and heading to the pool.   Too hot for a massage; just want to float around in some cool, cool waaatah.....

...sending out prayers to the gamblin' god; thinking to have Jocks do a rain dance; and is it asking too much that the snow god join the pparty!!!?????

hugggsssssss to ALL--have a great TGIF!!!!!

Junie, too funny you asked for snow! My son said the same thing today. There was this huge black cloud which didn't leave a drop at my house but he said wow, with something that impressive you'd think it would do something spooky like snow!

Welcome Mal. The only thing that is hard about this thread is keeping up with where everyone is whether they are in the pool, under the table, taking a snooze, recovering from chemo, playing with our wonderfu furry family or being pampered, loved and supported by these amaing and very hilarious women of the HTL!

So, I've used up an entire roll of aluminum foil to try and keep the kitty out of the room. So far so good but???

I need to get online when I have more energy and I don't have my kids coming in every two minutes so more over the weekend... Happy 13th everyone!!!

NM - you are too much fun! That picture made me laugh. My daughter asked what was funny.. told her it was just some breast cancer humor. Glad you'll be getting your puppy back! I bet she missed you a lot. Had lunch with a childhood friend today and we were laughing about the time we gave up sex for Lent in 4th grade.

Hope you are all enjoying a lucky Friday the 13th! I'm heading for San Francisco in the morning and then up to Portland for the week. I'll miss you guys (not sure if I'll have access).

Good grief, ladies, don't start wishing for snow this early!  If you want lots of snow move to Maine where we have 9 months of winter, 1 month of mud season, 1 month black fly and mosquito season, 2 weeks of summer and 2 weeks of fall.  I'll be seeing snow next month, don't need it now!

Stanzie--As a dog person I'm very curious about the aluminium foil comment--are you saying that you can use aluminium foil to keep kitty out of the room?  How does that work?

AStorm--giving up sex for Lent in 4th grade?  Umm, did you even know what sex was at that age??? Or were you and your friends very precocious in that regard???

Here's a Snowball thrown at all of you who are wishing for Snow WAAAY to early!

    1 1/2 oz Advocaat
    4 cubes Ice
    1 slice Lemon
    10 oz (Cold)

YAAAAAY! I'll definately take a pitcher full of those snowballs! Might cool us down a bit. I am amazed that we have been moving my mom's stuff EVERY DAY in this horrid heat! Get totally drenched. My DH took my mom one of his amazing (and potent) "Irish Coffees" early this morning. I wanted to get her in the mood to NOT pack up stuff, but finish a huge painting! She is an excellent artist and one of her large paintings is of the Big Island....but she was never happy with some of the rocks in front, and some sand....so always meant to repaint those areas. I am SO hoping she will be in the mood to finish it so we can hang it at the new house. With so much to do, it is hard to get to things like that. She has a huge "empress" painting also that is in HI now, but I can just envision it in her yellow sunroom, which will have an asian flair. Will wait to put up all the other paintings later, but am so glad that the furniture is looking so good there. The movers will move the rest on Monday, then will have to see when my dad will let her send the HI stuff!

Enjoy SF today, AStorm! Are you gonna take some pics? Such a lovely area! Hope you have a great weekend.

Stanzie, So glad that Liesl seems to be okay. What a scary thing! My mom tripped (walking backwards to see how I was arranging some things, and tripped on a large chair) yesterday....thank God I was nearby and she grabbed my sleeve, meanwhile I see her in slo-mo going backwards, and was able to grab her arm at the last minute! Sooooo scary, esp at her age. She was half-way down when I caught her. We have SO many memories of her falls....all very scary....and thankfully nothing breaks!!! She even fell off our deck b4 I had the railing up, about 4 yrs ago. AARGGGGHHHHHH.....wish she would be more careful!

Welcome Mal to our fantabulous zanadu here!! If you can find the link that Lori (Goldie) posted several pages back, you can see our Tattie Tenders, Wenches, Pool, Swim-Up Bar, Fire Pit, Firemen, etc...it is an amazing place we all designed and thought up...a joint effort! We sure had fun including everything we wanted...even have a large lake, a beach, casino, etc. If anything is missing, we can add it. So relax, lounge by the pool, get a massage, whatever you want. This is the place to come to HAVE FUN and get away from the bc crapola! Stay awhile!

Loungettes, Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!! Can't remember everything to comment on, but I think of all of you, and what everyone is going through. Think I'll go over to the mimosa fountain and take a HUGE glass with me!

    Barmen!

AStorm - I know I had no idea what sex was in 4th grade! What are you trying to tell us?

NM - wonderful picture!!  When I was little because I was born with a foot problem I couldn't go out in the snow (it was fixed when I was 8) but I would watch my sisters and friends playing in the snow from the window so my mom used to collect so nice "clean" snow and make snowcream. For some reasont that picture reminded me of that.

Well I have no idea if the aluminum foil will work yet. I'm trying it as the parent of one of my daughter's freinds was totally obsessed about not letting their cat just on the counters so she kept aluminum foil on the countertops casue the sound it makes when they walk on it freaks them out.

So I have these huge plastic sheets draped over the three door openings and then I have a huge opening from my kitchen to the den where there is a "bar counter" where my kids eat breakfast. So the plastic sheets are just taped up with that blue painters tape and the plastic is thin. So my cat just went to the side and pulled the plastic aside and the tape came off the walls and in she went. So after retaping like crazy didn't work. I then took pieces of aluminum foil and taped them to the floors right before the openings and then some more up the sides. The main place she likes to get in I got a plastic shower curtain liner and tried to hang up so she would just tear the plastic but so far it just keeps falling down and I have water bottles around to squirt her if she gets close.... pretty much a pain and will be till next weekend!

I was a totaly dog person till my son with Down syndrome wanted a cat so bad and a lady brought some to the preschool so I thought well if might help him. So got the cat which my dog loved! but he hated the cat from day one and to this day screams when the cat meaows! However my daughter immediately fell madly in love so we have a cat. She is getting better... She is almost 10 now but still bites and scratches.... sigh.

Hey NM and Stanzie, one of us has just had way too much to drink. I don't know if it was me or one of you. I see NO mention of snow by Junie. Even went back and read a 2nd time! I see where Stanzie's son said something about snow, but thats all. But I am sure NOT ready for snow. Even tho our winters are somewhat mild. I dislike winter....PERIOD!

Stanzie, maybe the foil is to keep kitty pre occupied? I was curious about that too. Paw prints in the poly might be worse than the hair. Glad Liesl is ok.

Junie, I see you asking for rain....and yes I am shocked! And you don't need to be taking dog beerS, one is enough...remember!

We went and saw Expedibles. Was full of action, rather violent and even had some funny stuff. But a good movie. Dinner at a new restaraunt. I had a basil/asparagus pesto and chicken pasta that was awesome. Darrell had the soup and salad bar which is soooo NOT like him, but the soups were cheeseburger and enchilada....so that should explain it. Went back to the furniture stores, purchase a bench for the front door, as people are always putting their dirty hands on the wall for balance to put their shoes on, bought a dining room set, and made a decision on our sofa..will order that next week.

Taking my snowballs out to pool to throw at some patrons and cool them off! Maybe we should have our Par-Tay out at the pooch park.

Mal, you can only stay if you like to have fun. That is what this thread is TOTALLY about! So....WELCOME.......grab a bar stool, a drink, a floatie, even a Tattie Tender if you want! ...and enjoy.

    ChEARS to Dog Beers!

My first interest in sex was in 1963 when my older sibs brought home the first Beatles album. Of course I had no idea what sex was but it made me boy crazy from there. I thought The Beatles were so cute! I must have been 6. I think after NM's pic my interest in sex has gone bye bye for good - just kidding.

I'm way not ready for snow, no snow, no snow, no snow - still sick of it from last winter. I want it hot and sunnnnnnnny!!! Been having a heck of a time finding a building contractor. It's scary to think of handing $$ over to someone you don't know. I've been checking for licenses and worker's comp, etc online. I have one guy supposedly coming over this aftrnoon so will have to get ready for that meeting and gotta go grocery shopping first. Bizy day ahead...only 3 more cytoxan days till I'll be looking like that drunken squirrel goldie posted with the jack daniels.

BTW - my new weight loss tip is EEEZZZZ, just take extra strength exlax and you'll be slim and trim the next day!!!

Hope you all have a very SEXY day! Chairs!

Cats and tin foil--supposedly the rustling sound will scare them away--but it doesn't work with ALL cats.   Had a friend who tried foil to keep her cat from peeing on her antique Persian rug--didn't faze the cat one bit.  Good luck!!

Yes, Lori. We gave up sex because it was easy to give up. Mostly because we didn't know much about it and from what we had heard, it sounded gross!

Well, no San Francisco weekend for me. My corgi is sick and I'm being the mom while my family enjoys a concert in Golden Gate Park. Probably not going to Portland either as I cannot board her and don't want to leave her.  :(

Oh shoot my post from earlier isn't there.... if I could only remember what I wrote... I can't even claim chemo brain just my plain ol'non-functioning one.

Oh, I am so sorry about your Corgi!!! I hope she is OK. I can't board Liesl either never have never will if I have anything to say. When her back went out and the vet wanted to keep her a few days I totally freaked out and said she wouldn't understand and it might kill her. I'm sure I was over-reacting but it is how I felt. So I understand. Sorry about your vacation though but hopefully she will get better quickly - that would be the best all around

Not over-reacting, Stanie. Several years ago we left town for 3 days and hired a neighbor's son to feed our cat and let him in at night. We weren't worried about him because he was very independent -- a really big orange tabby who didn't run from dogs. Well, he did run from the neighbor's dog, and when he tried to jump onto a retaining wall he missed and slammed his body against the wall. Neighbor took unconscious cat to vet. He was paralyzed (no lower body function, including bladder) and after several months of pampering, kitty daycare and multiple infections we had to put him down. Two years ago we boarded our 2 corgis to attend a family reunion. We got a call while onboard a ferry (first leg of journey home, and I was already very sick). The 13 YO male corgi had a severe reaction to vax he was given the week before so that we could board him. He had multiple organ failure and had to be put down. Must we sacrifice a pet just to get out of town for a few days?

Well, $678 and a canceled vacation later, I have learned that our corgi is in pain. Maybe I should have gone to vet school instead of business school! She is on pain meds and an anti-inflammatory for now but her blood work was very normal, healthy in fact. Actually, the family went to a music festival this weekend and I'm chillin with the cats. Kind of wish DH would just take the girls and leave me here with the pets. I'm tired.

Stanzie - I love the stories about your cat.  We have 5 of them (and my mom's temporarily right now).  2 of them are really bad (little pee monsters), so they got their own bedroom to live in with cat condos and all.

Astorm - I hope your dog is okay.  Corgies are so cute!!!  :)
