Such a fun party at the pooch park. Looks like our fur babies even had fun!

Too much to do, so not much time for a post. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. NM, I'll have a dog bisquit, altho it does sound gross!

Most important tho......Kathy, so glad mom didn't get hurt and you were there to catch her.

Junie, I went back and read again.....finally saw about snow gods there in the last paragraph. I can't tell you how many times I looked that over and still didn't see it!

A-storm - I'm so sorry about your horrible experiences with going out of town. We had a little dog growning up who we all adored but my Mom would never leave him - either he came with us or we didn't go. I remember when we were little she had to go somewhere and left my Dad in charge and at that time she was cooking a little bit of hamburger meat for him. Well my Dad didn't want to be bothered so he cooked the whole package and gave him the meat all at once. When my Mom got home she found this horrid rotten meat left for her precious baby! And that was my Dad!

Anyway, she also told us about her mom had a beloved pet and she was very sickly most of her life and having children didn't help that. Anyway, she and my grandfather had the chance to go to Europe which back then was usually for a long time as there were no planes. Anyway she left him with the family vet who she trusted. By the time she got a letter from the vet and turn around to come back the little dog had died. He died of a broken heart as he wouldn't eat or drink and just howled.... Well, that story did it for me! Sorry I don't mean to upset anyone it was just so awful.

Ok on to cleaning the garage, think Jocks would like to moonlight?

All those sad dog boarding/leaving with someone stories just break my heart! I am hoping my DD will want to feed our dogs when we go to OZ (we do pay her)....otherwise I will have to desperately find someone, as now I REALLY do not want to board them!!! Have never boarded a dog, as I always have outside dogs, and either pay a neighbor, or my kids, but since my youngest DD moved to TX, it makes it much harder to travel. Also, keeps our home safer too, with them in the yard. So sorry for those of you that had such bad experiences.

As for the two DOTD's........how appropriate! Sounds a little strange for us to drink though, but you never know...might be yummy. Good drinks NM, and pics! And Lori, OMG, what a cute passed out doggies pic.....sorta like we look after our big HTL parties! LOL. That is sooooo funny! Been moving again today in this heat, and I can tell my mom is really getting tired now. Trying to get her to rest, but that is hard to do. The movers come tomorrow for the biggest, heaviest items. Yeah, I was sure glad to have caught my mom too! I don't know how many times the ambulance was called when they lived here....was always so scary, esp she called once and said...."Now remember even small cuts on your head bleed a lot.....", and we arrived to find her with her head in the sink, bleeding profusely (she had stepped on the snow shovel handle and the sharp edge got her head)! And once she fell backwards, up on a stool in the kitchen...saw her land flat on her back, and hit her head on the floor...but she was ok. And I wonder why I have so much stress!!!! SO thankful she had not broken anything (on her)!

Hot, Hot, Hot Here....maybe I'll jump into the pool....*SPLASH*....oops still have all my clothes on, forgot to change into a swimsuit....oh well....it sure feels nice and cool and that is all that matters!!! How neat is this....I see Pants floating a drink over to me....so awesome! Come on in and join me, all of my breast friends here.....promise I won't splash anyone!!!!

    Banzai!

AStorm, I was thinking about your dear Corgi too. Hope your furbaby is doing better today! Sorry you had to stay home and not go on the trip, but you made the right decision, to stay and take care of your baby. Let us know how your doggie is doing.

And yeah, NM....won't Thursday (I think that is what you said) be a nice reunion, to get your furbaby back home!!!!!! That is the day my mom returns to HI...so I will be a bit sad, but happy for you!

    goldie--that pic is amazingly funny!

stanzie and AStorm--now you guys are making me guilty for leaving my Sadie with my Aunt, even though I know she's been spoiled rotten!  I can't wait for Thursday to get here and I have her home with me again.  She's been with my Aunt so long that I'm afraid she won't want to come back home with me, IF she even remembers me!  My Aunt has had her longer than I have by a month.

wahine--I'm sorry your Mom is leaving so soon, and I hope she comes back soon!

Grabbing me a Dog Biscuit and heading to the pool (today, we are only about 90--first day in almost a month that we haven't been over 100--Wahine, you cooling off, too???)

I think it is amazing how intertwined we become with certain furbabies!   We have not made several trips because it is so stressful to board Pancho so much.   We do have several friends/kids places that we visit often and he is welcome there.   But, we do board him a lot!  It is expensive, but we know he is taken care of and he is at his vet if there is a problem.   Don't think he's caught onto the fact that "spa" equals boarding, but it won't take him long!   He figured out "going to camp" a long time ago!!!   I have been wanting to take a certain trip to Spain for several years now, but it would be for 3 weeks--cannot leave the damn dog for that long a time!!!

Although, something I read a long time ago-------dogs have no sense of time....that's why they are so glad to see you when you walk back in the house, even if you've just gone to get the mail or been gone for a couple hours, or much longer......I hope that's true!

DH had dog out back a few minutes ago....dog wandered off toward the tee box two lots away to see who was there.....DH yells, "let's go get a yummy" and dog just kept ambling....DH yelled, "who wants a pig's ear?" and it was a black streak of lightning that couldn't make it home fast enough!!!   Smart dog!!

The water in the pool is just perfect.   Hope I don't spill my Dog Biscuit--I tend to flip the floating lounges!   Have my eye on an empty hammock.   Think I'll have Jocks bring me a dog beer in a few minutes and veg out for a bit.

ChEars and Chairs to Dog Beers and huggssss to ALL......BARMEN!!!

    Junie,

I hope you wern't offended by what I said about boarding pets. I have lots of friends who board their babies and they are fine some who love it and can't wait to go to boarding vacation. I think a lot has to do with what you do when they are puppies/kittens. When I got my Liesl we had been going though years of infertility and we had basically run out of most options. I was terribly depressed and getting Liesl saved my life in many ways. She was exactly what I needed till I could get my babies. To me she is still my first born even though more furry. I don't know what I would have done without her and still don't. That first year, I don't think I ever left her more than an hour. And when I was with her I was holding or sitting with her rubbing her tummy. OK, so I know I'm way more obsessed than "normal"people but I had been though so much and my marriage was in trouble way back then I just really needed her.

Anyway, I don't mean to be disrespectful of anyone's choice to board as they know best and there are some wonderful facitities out there.

N.M. I am positive Sadie will not have forgotten you and she will be extatic to be home. I know they can tell when something is wrong or you need to go away for something especially medical and she will be even more thrilled to see you.

I think that is interesting about animal's sense of time... Did you ever see the show/documentary where they had dogs whose owners went out. They then went and laid down. But they were communicating with the owner and when they turned around to come home sometimes 5 -10 miles away the dogs would rise up and go to the window and wait and look for them. They tried all sorts of things but it worked everytime. It was facinating. Liesl was really good at it but her hearing isn't so good these days...

OK, sorry enough about the furry ones. I spend all day working in the very hot garage but got lots down as I have a dumpster and I was determined to use it for lots of stuff I had no other way of getting rid of.

hugggssss, Stanzie--no offense one bit.......did not mean to imply any such thing; just to say for now, we have good luck with boarding.    But, interesting--did not see that documentary you mention.   The gals at the vet are in awe of the same situation.   No matter when we return and are going to pick the dog up, they know that "Pancho's dad" will be there soon!   Dog gets real lively; active; wants to play; starts barking his head off.   It truly is amazing!

I know Sadie remembers me, she still goes to the window and looks out into the driveway after she hears my voice when I'm talking on the phone with my Aunt.  Thursday seems like a long time away! I'm getting excited to have her home again.  I'm concerned that she's going to miss all the attention she's been getting from my Aunt, my Uncle and his girlfriend who's visiting from Texas, my Aunt's granddaughter and her little boy who shares popsicles with her, and everybody else who is coming and going there.  On the other hand, I've been known to spoil my dogs a bit myself. . .

As far as boarding dogs is concerned, I think that different dogs with differnt personalities react differently to differnt boarding kennels.  I'm lucky to have a kennel nearby that is small and gives all the aninmals lots of personal attention.  The 2 dogs I had before Sadie used to love going there--the first time I left them when I went to pick them up it was play time, they came out to the lobby to see me, gave me kisses and then ran back into the kennel and out to the play yard!  On the other hand, I know dogs that are just miserable without there people, no matter how nice the kennel.  You just have to learn your own pet's quirks and take them into account.   That being said, I think it's been harder on ME to not have Sadie at home than it has been on Sadie!

I saw the show where the dogs anticipated the owner's return.  The dogs anticipated the owners return even when the owners didn't know when they would be heading for home (the researchers call the owners at random times to start heading back home).  It was amaizing!  Dogs know a lot mre than we give them credit for, I think.

Got a Med Onc appointment this afternoon, and for once I'm not all worked up about a doctor's appointment!   I was aiming for a record of crying at every doctor's appointment for 5 years, broke that streak after 3 years when I saw the PS on the 5th.  I actually smiled, and LAUGHED at a  doctor's appointment!  Never thought that would happen, but it happened again at my follow up appointment with my BS a week later.  Emotional progress is being made, despite myself!  Yeah!

I offer up for the DOTD a Laugh a Minute:

    1/2 oz Amaretto
    1 oz Cherry Vodka
    1 oz Sweet Vermouth
    2 oz Lemonade

Corgi is doing better today! She is actually walking around but still avoiding the stairs (and the wiener-dog). She had a back injury a couple of years ago and vet thinks it is just inflamed right now. She was so miserable when we got home from the vet I decided to give her a spa treatment. We started with a nice warm bath (filled the bathtub with warm water she could soak in). She usually hides when she hears water running but she didn't complain. I heated her towels in the dryer. She turned her back toward me to get the heat from the hair dryer onto her back. Then pain meds and her anti-inflammatory and hid under a dresser and she slept for 12 hours. Greenie's deserves a Nobel prize for their "pill pockets".

I'm having a Cat's Eye... more my style than the Dog Biscuit... and then heading to BevMo for some cherry vodka. Last night I made myself bananas foster bread pudding. The house smelled so good! I flambed bananas in banana liqueur and rum before adding them to the bread and custard. I don't think alcohol counts if you ignite it...

Family came home at midnight and we are thinking about going to the wine country for a couple of days, WITH the dogs.

NM glad you are getting Sadie back soon. I don't think I would worry about her too much at auntie's house. You're right about the personalities... our teenie weenie just loves people (doesn't have to be his family). I can't imagine him being in a crate for any amount of time. He really needs to play with other dogs and lick people's faces. The cats don't miss us if we are only gone for a couple of days (I think they lose track of time with all those cat naps), and the corgi just wants to be with us. She's always been a good traveler..

Stanzie - didn't see that documentary, but my neighbors have told me that the corgi starts barking before I even turn onto our street. Last night I was curled up in bed with 2 cats and the wiener-pup (corgi on the floor) when both dogs started barking (the dachshund from under the blankets) at almost midnight. I got up and checked the windows and doors since I was home "alone" but couldn't find the source of their distress. About 5 minutes later DH and DD were at the front door. They were supposed to spend another night in SF but got homesick (we weren't expecting them).

Hope everyone is having a Laugh A Minute! Cheers!

N.M. I think you are definately correct I do think it is much harder on us ! Thursday will be here before you know it!

Welcome Vicky - I'll let others introduce to all the wonderous perople here at the HTL but nice to have you! Everyone is quite lovely and fun and supportive just exactly what we all need!

Ooof, too hot! Beanie, are you out of town again? It seems to get really really hot when you are! Please come home so I can get some work done.

My tolerance for heat seems to be slowly dropping - and I'm pretty sure the chemo hasn't helped one iota! Spent most of today in the only cool room in our house - the bedroom. Doesn't make for much work to be accomplished. It's 34.5 celcius in our computer room right now...I think that's in the 90s F somewhere. Give me 75 and sunny any day of the week!

Of course, the heat makes me grumpy about all sorts of things. Stupid arimidex and it's stupid weight gain, stupid operations that make my stomach not work, stupid diseases and drugs that steal my life away.

Ok, going to take a gallon of something and drown my sorrows over in the corner and wallow in my self-pity.

Hope everyone else is having a better day.

Beans, always changing your avatar......I always think its someone new at the Lounge!

NM is off whale watching today, with family. I hope she doesn't mind me telling. I told her I hope she sees some and takes a camera.

Astorm, glad to hear your Corgi is doing better.

Welcome Vicky! There is no joining....to just come! Pull up a barstool and share some fun. We love to laugh!

Ha ha ha...found this for you Connie (in all your stupidity, LOL) A Raspberry Stupid!

I'm going to show you how to make a Raspberry Stupid. Who are you calling a stupid? No, the drink is actually called a raspberry stupid. And you're going to drink as many of these as you can until you get stupid. And I'm going to show you how to make them. We're going to start off with some ice. Pour that into your glass. Here we go. You're going to add to that, three ounces, approximately of Zima Which is a clear malt beverage. It's oh, so lovely. We're going to add to that, one ounce of raspberry schnapps. And any brand will do for this. So, pick your favorite, because you're going to be drinking it, stupid. Alright. Add an ounce, just like so. Grab your stirry spoon. Have fun with that. Mix it up gently. There we go. Give it a tap. And we're going to pour this into a highball glass. Because we want to look sophisticated while becoming completely dumb. Add in a stirry straw. Just like so. And you can feel free to garnish this with a lime. It's going to make it taste a little more refreshing. And raspberry lime always go well together. There you have it, raspberry stupid.

Here is video for our new comers at The HTL (Hot Tatties Lounge)

Glad that stupid stuff worked. I keep trying to find a stupid pic of ME but I'm stupidly unphotogenic. Thot about showing off how I've taken off a few stupid pounds so I had DH take a pic of me in my stupid running garb but I ain't postin' that cuz I still look like a stupid puffy german sausage with little white sticks at one end. Last day of my stupid cytoxan. I'm sick of drinking a stupid gallon of crystal lite every stupid day to flush this stupid sh!t out of my poor body!! Great drink goldie!!!! And thanks Connie for the inspiration. AStorm - I love your avatar, it's so cute (and one thing that's not stupid). You always have good ones. Connie - sorry your having a hot, grumpy, stupid sh!t day and I hope it improves. I'm still in Waky (Wauconda) and it got really hot yesterday too 94 deg. And ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - love the youtube, Goldie. Thanks for getting my stupid Tuesday off to some ripping good laughs!

Forget tomorrow, I'm heading straight to the bar for a nice big Raspberry Stupid. Cheers to all and hope you have a great stupid day!!! Love and hugs to all you HTL hotties, Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeens

Beans, I am stupidly LMAO at your post!!!! Its been stupid hot today AGAIN here...what else is new? Had to go to the stupid courthouse as we went to the stupid satellite station and they close the property assesors office all summer--lots of driving and walking, in this heat. This is after we were right there, at the attys office...sheesh. My mom got to meet the closing atty (none of them are stupid!) and he told her what a great negotiator I was and he wouldn't want to buy a used car from me...LOL. Just cause the stupid seller hid so much stupid damage, and had so much stupid double-talk that I HAD to be a good negotiator!!! Now I am stupidly tired, and would like a nice big pitcher of those stupid drinks!!!! Ohhhhhhh....this is fun, Beans! See what your stupid post led me to do, along with Lori's stupid drink post????? All in fun....all in fun!

Welcome Vicky, that is if we haven't driven you off, with our stupid posts! LOL.

I LOVE the drink!  Raspberry is one of my favorite flavors!

The whale watching trip was a fun time with the family, saw  a school of ocean sunfish--each one was at least 4 feet across!  Saw lots of fog, no whales (got free tickets for another trip), saw some harbor porpoises, fog, a couple harbor seals, fog, a BIG cruise ship, fog, some storm petrels, fog and one puffin.  Just enough swell to make the ride out to the grounds fun, not so much to make for unhappy tummies.  And did I mention it was foggy? Very nice day but now I'm really tired, so going to hit the hay early and see if I sleep better tonight than last night.

But first, a pitcher of Raspberry Stupid for me, to take to the hammock.  Surprised

Where are you in your treatment? Pull up a chair and let's have a chat!

Lori, Remember a few stupid days ago when we mentioned taking stupid melatonin for stupid sleeping? It has worked for stupid me (3mg), but took about 5-7 stupid nights to take effect. Now I just take it every 2-3 stupid nights, and stupidly it really works stupid well. I had my mom ask her dr about it for her, and he said ok. It seems to be working for her. Guess it would be ok to take with the stupid armidex??? Some of the other gals here at this stupid lounge have taken it too. So, stupid me thinks maybe you should try the stupid melatonin!

NM, Yeah, you mentioned the stupid fog....LOL. Too bad the stupid whales were hiding in the stupid water!!!

Stupid delivery guys are coming at 8stupid30 in the morning...too stupid early for me!!! So I'll give a stupid sign off to all........
