Goldie - Hope you have a great trip (but you will be missed) and thanks for the ibeer, great start to Monday.

Stanzie - Glad you like my Cousin It look. I'm very tired of it (but loved Cousin It too). The CMF chemo thread recommended doing very little to hair while going thru chemo...so, I wash, brush, touch, etc as little as possible, no hair dryer, no color, no trims. I have more shedding than normal and have heard after cycle 4 it tends to thin more, will see. I hope Liesl is okay and you get her to the vet for a good remedy. (It's amazing how attached we get...my old cat died two years ago and I still grieve...)

NM - I'm keeping a pitcher of Painkiller for tomorrow when I get infused again. Hope you are feeling better!!!

Wahine - we got back to the coast yesterday and, of course, it is gray and rainy...I miss the mountains already. Loved the Sunday brunch and Painkiller! Such a great way to spend my drive to the coast - ha, ha, ha! BTW I love DOS, the Mexican beers are so good (so are the German beers, American beeers, Dog beers...etc)

Lulubelle - I'm right there with you on the Metamucil Moijitos and I drink gallons of crystal lite. Hope you are feeling better. Surgery sucks!

Claire - Have fun cycling! I'm a jogger...well, I was a jogger, then chemo turned me into a hobble-jogger and now I'm a Sloe Movement Hobble-Jogger, but I have gotten back to 40 min a day (appx 2 to 3 miles) and walking, stretching. Wish I could lose my chocolate lover thighs and brie lovers belly. Stay healthy!!

HD - I think you esplained the posting BS well. I use shutterfly or post directly from the Internet page, right click, point & click, click, click. I can't esplain so good.

Mrs. Nice - I get my chemo cocktail tomorrow, feeling your pain already and hope you are doing better today.

Hi june - glad you're back and that you had fun!!

Kittycat - So glad you got to the wedding and had a great time!!

Well I'm off to Seattle tomorrow...we get up around 3:30 am or 4, leave by 5 and get there by 8 ish. Then I get my IV and blood work, Dr. visit, MoFuCrap + steroids + zofran. Then I feel reeeeel shitty for another month...Whooopie!!! Drinks pul-eeeeze!!! Cheers to all and thanks for helping me get through this!!!!!!! Your pal, Beanie Weenie

Heather - so thrilled everything went so great and you felt and looked beautiful. What a lucky sister to have you! I'm so glad you had fun, you needed that a lot!

Just making this quick as I have an allergic reaction to??? I'm supposed to think what all I have had to drink, eat, new soaps, materials ect... Anyway, got drugs so hopefully will kick in soon. Liesl is doing better today but still something is wrong. AStorm- my friend's little dog had that as well and she was very sick so that is what got me to thinking and worring.... More when I'm not itching like crazy.

Benius.....is that "sloe" as in "sloe gin fizz" or a typo for "slow": Sloe Movement Hobble-Jogger.

In which case, I would go with something a bit less alcoholic.  Or skip that percotini fountain for a bit.

Good luck tomorrow.  I am doing a walk tonight while I dream of cycling escapades for next week end.  Staying away from my friends who are still unpacking.  I realize the kind thing would have been to go there yesterday with my tools and install kitchen shelves, but that might over-tax the friendship.

All this reminds me that I need to eat one of the plums I got on special.  I may do a Bellini tonight with champagne split from move plus some special mix from Italy.  Will be close, but peach, not plum. - Claire

Stanzie-I'm so sorry to hear about Liesl's tummy troubles. I hope you got hold of the vet today and found out it's something easily treatable. One of my dogs got pancreatitis once from being overfed too many human food treats at Thanksgiving and had symptoms just like Leisl's. A few days of water only and she turned right around, but she was a bigger and younger dog. Please let us know what the vet says. About photos-I found that I could post photos from Facebook, but not from my computer, not sure why. But since the photos I wnt to post here I also post on Fb, usually, not a big problem.

Wahine-I hope you got some stuff done before the Painkillers kicked in. . . The photo of the buffet is WONDERFUL! So pretty! I wonder how they keep the table looking so well stocked even with all of us attacking it!

Goldie-hope you have a good trip to Phoenix! I know you've probably already said, but what will you be exhibiting? Can I still claim anesthesia brain after 3 months? About the iBeer, what is the point? Granted, I never could learn to like the taste or smell of beer, but the whole iBeer thing is even more incomprehensible to me than drinking the real stuff! Unless it's the entertainment factor, I suppose.

Lulubelle-so glad the Metamucil Mojitos worked for you! The way I see it, we might just as well enjoy the taste of the stuff we have to take for medicinal reasons, and what better flavorings than adult beverages? Hang in there, you'll be surprised how much better you feel after 6 weeks, and how quickly you'll forget the not-so-fun, feeling miserable first few weeks after surgery. BTW-you don't need to ask permission to take some of the buffet food home to hubby, just tell one of the tenders or wenches and they'll put up a "hubby bag" for you!

Claire-in-Seattle-at least you made it to church! I didn't even get dressed until half way through service time. Maybe it was national Tired Sunday?

MrsNice-so sorry the tummy is unhappy. Another thing you can try is candied ginger, or ginger tea. Candied ginger has the advantage of a few more calories, which can be helpful during treatment, and can be found in health food stores and increasingly more often in regular grocery stores. If you have some ginger root in the house, put a few thin slices in water and simmer for about 10 minutes, then sip on it or take a couple tablespoonsful every 15 to 20 minutes until the tummy settles. You can sweeten it with any sweetener you like, if you want. If you can tolerate and like tea, you can drop a slice into a cup with the teabag and that will work, too.

Hi, Junie! Welcome back! Tomorrow and Wednesday are my get up at 4 am, leave by 5 am days, so I won't be on to post a DOTD until afternoon, unless someone beats me to it, which is OK, too! So glad the gambling gods were generous with you this trip. Sounds like you had a lot of fun, and that's the big thing!

Kittykat-I'm so glad you had a good time at your sis's wedding! Weddings are for fun and celebration and family and friends. Sounds like your sister was lovely, can't wait to see the pics!
Beanie! I've put in an order with the tenders for a batch of sterile Painkiller to take with you to your treatment and add to your IV. Then you will feel much better! I'm feeling better, I think the headache is from a sudden increase in hay fever pollens in the air, and the smoke from the neighbor's fire. They're renovating the trailor they rent out and have been burning the trash, which smells terrible. I was away from home at work all day today and not a bit of headache until I got home. When I drove down my road the smoke was so thick I thought at first it was fog! Keeping the window's shut tonite.

    Kiss Hey Y'all!

Sorry for a short post but I wanted to pop my head in the door for a minute, WOW I can't get caught up on all the posts, I hope everyone is doing okay. Well crap we didn't win anything but had a great time anyway. Decided that we would take off on the motorcycles yesterday and I forgot to be prepared for the temperature drop in the eve, OMG I about froze my butt off on the ride back. Summer is over...what a bummer! I just remembered a new drinkie-poo I had at a party you may like. It goes down real smooth but watch out, it's got a backhand that will slap ya down!  You will need a bottle of peach schnapps and a bottle of 99 bananas and a bottle of pineapple juice. Take half bottle of schnapps and half bottle 99 bananas and pour in gallon jug, fill rest of jug up with pineapple juice. Woooeee!

    OXOXO D~

NM, Good idea to tell MrsNice about eating ginger. One of the treats we brought back from OZ is DARK CHOCOLATE covered ginger.....oh those are soooooo yummy. Guess I won't feel guilty eating any if I think of them as medicinal....LOL.

Dee, Girl don't just pop your head in, you need to stay awhile! Sounds like fun on the motorcycles except for the brrrrrr cold night! I did a similar thing in OZ...took a ferry ride at night down the river with all the tall bldgs lit up....except I had short sleeves on and it got freezing cold at night! DH went down into the cabin area but stubborn me had to stay on top, out in the cold wind, just to enjoy all the sights. Awwwww....when will we learn? Do you have a name for that potent drink? Maybe it can be the DOTD for tomorrow.....sounds yummy.

    Have a Great Evening Everyone!!!

Mrs. Nice - if you have a Trader Joe's around they have lots of great ginger "treats" and Kathy they also have the choc. covered ginger.

So I've been giving Liesl 1/2 a pepsid in the am and giving her plain rice with just a little chicken on top and trying to feed her several small meals and so far so good. She gets so upset going to the vet I thought I'd try this first. She seems to feel good and has lots of energy and is hungry so all good signs.

So today will work on pictures.... If the picture comes up with just the tip of my nose or Liesl's tail you will know I don't quite have the hang of it yet.

N.M smells really get to me as well, sorry you are having so much trouble.... I like the cooler air but hate to see summer go.

Stanzie, Hope the home remedy keeps working for dear Liesl! Glad she seems to be better...let her know we are all thinking of her and giving her virtual hugs. Do Trader Joe's have the dark chocolate covered ginger, though? Only get to those when we travel, as we don't have any here.

Got another notice from the subdivision "police"....accidentally left the recycle tote out overnight....sheesh!!!! Wish they'd worry about more serious offenses. How about one of the golden oldies, aka a recycled DOTD for today???

Teriffic Tuesday and Thanks to the Tattie Tenders,

    Kathy

Beanies-good luck today. Each round brings you closer to the end of treatments. Hang in there!

Stanzie-you are having allergic reaction to something and not sure what? I hope you get it under control. Glad to hear your fur baby is maybe on the mend. When trying to post your pictures, instead of hitting the "submit" button, click on the "preview" button. That way if it doesn't work, you will know before submitting it.

NM-we will be exhibiting some of our product. We sell and manufacture drip irrigation and soakerhose. Also announcing the opening of our outlet store for irrigation. Selling a few items at the show as well. Guess that makes me an exhibitionist? The iBeer is just a funny. You went to church half dressed? "I didn't even get dressed until half way through service time."

Dee-welcome back and glad you had a good time. Motorcycle ride sounds fun, but not being cold! I hate being cold and hate to see summer come to an end.

Kathy-I found a Fuzzy Banana. It has orange juice in it instead of pineapple. That 99 bananas is 99 proof! WHOA!

Stanzie, for your avatar, you have to take a picture from your computer.

Click at the top "My Home"

    Then click "Add Photo"

    "Browse"

That will open the folders on your computer. If you have the photo in you documants then you click on that, then click on the phote and open. Or the same if you have it in My Pictures.

Your pictures on Picasa, You can use in a post. Might be able to just click on the picture to open it, then right click and copy, then here in the post...right click and paste.

99 Bananas at 99 proof?  I could use a drink or 2 or 3.  One of my students doesn't seem to remember some rather basic medication preparation steps, and seems to think it's MY fault for not being patient enough and not providing enough practice!  My suggestion that she go to the lab and practice was met with a whole list of reasons why that wouldn't work for her.  I am getting just a little tired of her never tkaing any responsibility for her learning, and it's only the third week of school!  AARRGGHH!!

Pants--you can put a tube down my nose into my stomach and just pour in the drinks while Jocks gives me poor aching feet a massage.  Please?

Good job Stanzie, and you are very pretty.  Wow...you did great with avatar.  Genius, hope today went ok with bloodwork and CMF infusion or whatever part it was.  Sucks I know!  Hang tight!  NM...you poor soul...somebody hook the woman up with the nanner99 quick!  Hope the student gets their act together shortly.  I am shortwinded tonight.  First week back full time is kicking my Heineken.  Have heating pad on back and am not moving again tonight.  So NM, do you mind sharing Pants or Jocks?  Dee, sounds like you had a doozy!  How much of your butt did it freeze off?  I could use some of mine gone.  Kathy, I want to be a monkey! Cute pic!  Stay senile, it's the only way out for us all!  Hugs, HD

Whew! It's hot here today. I'll drink anything on ice! I drove carpool this afternoon so I stopped and got popsicles. 4 girls managed to consume an entire box of juice bars in less than 30 minutes!

Stanzie - good job with the photo -- you are smart and beautiful! Hope Liesl keeps feeling better. Sonds like you are being a good mom and giving her some extra TLC. I've been trying to teach my wiener-dog to high-five but he uses both paws. Oh well. DH says if I'm going to teach him a trick I should teach him not to run down the street everytime the front door opens.

Dee, weren't you a monkey in a previous life? LOL

HD - sounds like you need the hammock. I've been coming home every day just exhausted and can't cook (or eat) or do anything but lay around. I blame the heat but it's probably a combination (remember, surgery was only 4 weeks ago).

NM - would your student be my daughter by any chance? Nothing is ever her fault. She got in a lot of trouble last year for being truant and blamed it on us because we wouldn't let her drop the class she was cutting. My fault she crawled out her window and went to a party because if she'd have asked I would have said no. And those dishes in the sink? If she didn't have to cook for herself there wouldn't be any dishes! (cuz when mom cooks there are, magically, no dishes) and besides no one taught her how to wash dishes... or load the dishwasher... or hang her clothes... or do laundry.

Ok, now I'm all flustered. Move over HD, I need some hammock time too.

Gail......Am feeling for you in CA.  What one of my Facebook friends wrote:

"98 and humid today...I'm sending this weather back I hate it."

So lots of liquid and ease off on the proof.  Think "virginal" and you are close.

Lots of work and details today, so ready for my walk and then dinner.  And yes, some wine as brain has been in overdrive today.

I love Trader Joe's.  They have so many great things to eat and drink!  They have a good wine selection, but I've saved on buying wine (it doesn't taste good while I'm on chemo).  I think I've complained about this before!  :(

Hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday!  Cheers!!!  :)

Happy humpin' day! I meant HUMP day!

Love all the new avatars, everyone is looking great! Gail, yes I was a monkey in a previous life amongst other things haha So did you love the 99 bananas or what? Delicious but dangerous ;)

HD, it was a doozie for sure! Unfortunately not enough off the butt froze off, so I'm still working on that..lol I was so looking forward to a nice relaxing massage after work yesterday. When I got there instead of my regular masseuse I ended up with "Helga the horrible". I swear I have never had someone use a GALLON of oil before. I literally had to wipe down with the sheet before I could even get dressed and on top of that I have little bruises all over my body today from her knuckles and elbows! Hope you all are having a great week! Life is good and I'm working for the weekend!

    Cheers to my HTL sistas!

Love and peace to you all :)

Good Morning Girls! Dee, what a horrid experience with "Helga" (I can just picture her..LOL)...a massage is supposed to end up with you feeling better, not worse. And all those bruises! Well dear girlfriend, I think you should have a Tattie Tender or Wench ALL DAY today to just soothe those sore muscles. Should have (shoulda, woulda, coulda as my late DH would say) come to the HTL for your rubdown in the 1st place. I may join you in the massage....let me know which masseuse is available after you pick who you want...woke up with my back being worse than ever. Not sure if I will go to Tunica; will see how it is in a bit. (I am sure junie is saying "wtf" to me as she reads this...LOL). Hope you feel better soon, Dee!

Any DOTD for sore muscles, bruises, etc?????

Had to add this pic of the aurora borealis....saw this amazing sight in Alaska (had more pinks when we saw it though) in Sept right b4 my DH proposed to me........The Northern Lights (Thinkstock)

NM, maybe you should give your student one of your drinks from the other day. Maybe the Sambuca Senakot!

Stanze, way to go, you did it! Now we have another gorgeous blonde.

Heather, gorgeous no matter what. I bet you are gorgeous bald..

Astorm, you are right...only been 4 weeks! I hope HD is sharing her hammock with you. Just scooch her heinekin over!

Kathy, have fun if you get to the casino. Hoping the gambling God's are good to you. One of these days!!!!!

Oh my Dee, that sounds terrible! Let me get Sugar over here to give a more gentle massage. I know where you are coming from. I was having trouble the herniated discs in my back, and massage therapy was part of the treatment. I had one those roughies too. I thought they were going to cause more damage.

Here is a drink that is certainly going to kick ur arse! So let's SPANK THE MONKEY!

3/4 oz.  99 Bananas banana schnapps
    1/2 oz.  Bacardi 151 rum
3/4 oz.  Smirnoff Vanilla Twist vodka

    Procedure/Directions:

In a double shot glass, add .75oz of 99 Bananas with .75oz of Smirnoff Vanilla then SPANK the monkey with .5oz of Bacardi. If the glass is clear the drink will actually look " banana yellow". Now it is time to get in touch with your inner primate, take the shot and be prepared to go ape sh*t!

We are outta here in the morning. Hoping for a successful show. Everyone have a great weekend when you get to it!
