Claire - Thanks for probiotics tips, much appreciated. Best wishes with the headhunter, please keep us posted on how that goes.

NM- Berry Chocolate Wine soundes berry interesting. That would be fun to try! Glad there was some fun at your long meeting. I thought we might have to send you some toothpicks for your eyelids. Yikes, glad Sadie didn't get into any trouble. One time while I was in an evening class one of our guinea pigs got his head stuck in the "window" of a wooden house we had bought for him at the pet store. I'm glad I was gone, as DH told me the poor little guy was screeching and he had to carefully wet the fur around his neck and put shampoo on to get his head to slip out. Sounded so traumatic for the little pig. We cut the hole bigger so it never happened again. You never know what your pets will get into. Glad you had a nice garden day! The blueberry wine sounds fantastic!!

We did have five guinea pigs at one time - the guy that got stuck looked like the orange and white above. He was named Bilbo, the wayward pig.

Wahine - So glad you got home safely and had fun, fun, fun, too much fun with a bit of a hangover, oh, next time pick up those hangover pills (truly, I saw them on the Internet, but don't know if they work...wouldn't that be great!!) Glad you came out ahead, that makes it even more fun!

Junie - I woulda passed on the wedding too, hope you had fun relaxing at the pool with the dog beers! Oh my indeed to the birthday pic for kittycat! I love watching birds, they are so beautiful, I need new binocs though. Sounds like a beautiful Sunday! LOL at stepping in it...

    Hi ToriGirl!

Dee - LOL, loved the pic you found for kittycat!

    Hi MrsNice!

HD - Hope your Monday goes well! Glad to know now how to tell for sure when I'm drunk, I was confused before.

AStorm - LOL at getting doggy to pee on T-shirt!! That's a good trick!

Kitty - glad you had a great birthday!

Stanzie - Good luck with the filming, that sounds exciting! Did you get the doggy to pee in the cup, I've been holding my breath waiting for news ;-)

Goldie -Thanks for the sympathies, I am doing better again - yeah!! But more MF tomorrow, yuck-O! I used to do some trade shows, it's an effort and it seems like not much comes of it, but getting the word out is important for the future. So sorry to hear about the autism, what a dick to fight treatment!

Now to make you all laugh since it is Monday and a stupid work day, here is a pic of me from a week ago jogging in the rain (hair is pulled back and looks dark cuz it's wet). And for more laughs, just think of me getting up at 4 am tomorrow, making cowboy coffee cuz our coffee pot broke, then driving 3 hours for more MF and I have to take C too! Should be a gag me day for sure - just when I'm feeling better. Junie, can I join you at the pool for more dog beers?????

    bean

Knowing me I will get shy and take it down but hope you can laugh at me struggling to get through chemo and keep fit even in the rain!! Happy Monday and Big Cheers!!

Stanzie - don't hurt the bunny! Just tell him there are carrots in my yard for the taking. When my DD was little, I told her we were going to the mall to meet the Easter Bunny and she grabbed a bunch of carrots i had recently pulled and asked if we should put a bow on them for EB. Thought it was cute, so I let her take the carrots to the mall with a big ribbon tied around the stems. When she gave EB the carrots she leaned in and whispered, "there's lots more at my house!". Not sure if she was trying to get extra goodies in her basket or just get rid of the carrots.

Junie - don't hurt the racoons! Sorry, don't have a racoon story. But I had my bird feeders too close to the fence once and my poor DD witnessed the neighbor's cat chomp a little chikadee. Hang in there. I really miss rural life. DD wants to live in a big city and DH wants to live at the beach so I'll probably never get back to my roots. It's a matter of learning how to cope with things but they are just different things than you would be coping with in the big city!

Stanzie - what a nice neighbor! We went to Paris one year when I had a really nice garden. I gave the neighbors permission to harvest - especially the tomatoes - but when we came home there were so many veggies wilting on their vines and zucchini the size of a bath tub. I'm thinking you may need a larger, shallow container for Liesl...like a disposable plastic food container that is thin enough that it will flex so you can pour it into the the cup. I don't think I could get the corgi to pee in a cup, let alone the doxie.

Lori - sorry your donations were so sparse. You certainly did due diligence. Sorry about your grandson. One of my kids was suspected and I didn't have her tested because I didn't want her to be labeled. BUT, I researched Asperger's and have done everything I can to help her thrive with her GIFTS and minimize the problems. Yes, there are gifts! She is in a charter school where she can take advantage of a lot of advanced academic courses and where students are more accepting than in the mainstream public school. Of course, it all depends on where your GS is on the spectrum. His dad may reconsider at some point. As for my daughter, she is thriving but just about every teacher she encounters gets it that she is on the spectrum (even without the label) and knows how to tap into the bright side, but then she is not affected in a problematic way. Hopefully your GS's dad is not in denial.

Beanie - you are beautiful! Love your new avatar. And what a stud! I went for a long walk on Saturday and it kicked my butt. Your photo is so encouraging - please don't take it down! How about a Rusty Nail to warm you up?

    Drambuie Rusty Nail

    1 oz Drambuie
    1 oz Dewar's White Label
Pour over rocks in an ice glass and stir.

    ENJOY!

Beans, You are so pretty! Love your avatar, and that is a cute picture in the rain! YAY to you for getting some exercize in, esp when its raining!!! Glad the guinea pig survived, and laughed at the cute carrot story!

Stanzie, I have even more empathy now for what you went through with the renovation. AARRGGGHHHH....have had people here all day...adjustor, several renovators, and of course (as you said) the 1st guy that came out b4 our trip SHOULD HAVE put huge fans and dehumidifiers out! Sheesh!!! Might have even been able to save the floor if he had done the right thing asap. Looks like we will have part of the floor torn out tomorrow, then fans, etc...and see if subfloor has to be replaced too. Then have to get flooring estimates, pick out what we want, etc. I am starting to pack up breakables. Took all day....boy do I need a drink!

AStorm, Cute drink! Maybe I should have one too. Yesterday I was ripping off the rusted parts of the steel french doors at my parents new place....yup...got cut with that horrid rusty metal! Actually sorta gross as blood got on the tools, everywhere, even though not a huge cut. I had to use chisel and hammer, and then am using bondo to try to save them....just 2 have really bad places...most of the bottom panels. Wanted to do some more there today, but stuck with all these people that had to look at the damage here.

Lori, REALLY???? How totally shameful that people didn't donate much to bc!!!! Nice of you to try to get up a collection though! Glad you got home safely.....and hope some new business will come to you from that show.

Everyone that has gardens (or neighbors gardens to enjoy!) is soooo lucky! One thing we always have growing is basil, as we love it use it in so many dishes. Never thought about drying it though (freezing didn't work out for me!), so will have to try that.

BTW, Stanzie, did Liesl pee in that cup???? Yup, we need a picture of that.....LOL.

Ok gals, I really am ready for pau hana time. Think I'll stick with Seagrams/Diet Coke (no comment allowed about diet coke, Lori! j/k), and just R-E-L-A-X and maybe have Pants come over and give my feet a massage. Anyone joining me in having happy hour by the pool???

    Cheers to all of you!

Hi all, just a quick excited check in - Beanie - you are SO beautiful - please don't be shy and take it down, I was worried about having a real picture up but now I think it is so fun seeing everyone!!! I think you will look back on that picture very proudly - shows such strength and courage!

OK so Guess What???????? I just met Betty White! Took Sean and Liesl for a "walk" to see what was going on. Stood around a minute or two and a man came over and asked the names of all the dogs. He said Betty wanted to meet them on her next break and so she came over and said hello to the three dogs. She is just lovely and so nice and warm and friendly. She looks so much like my Mom I almost burst into tears and even talks like her. I wasn't prepared for that one. Anyway, she looks absolutly beautiful and really amazing for her age. She had on pinks and lavender which was very pretty on her..... Well, that was fun. Sean wasn't very polite so that was hard.

No luck on getting Liesl to pee yet. She is also still thowing up???? She is small and has lost almost 3 lbs since July. The Doc. called with blood work and everything is normal. So he wants to try prescription dog food with pepsid then if it continues then ultrasound and endoscopy at a hospital..... So don't want to have to put her through all that.... X-rays were also normal. So weird....?

Lori, awful you didn't make thousands and thousands!!!

Ok, better fun..... bunny is happily safe and the kids put our some carrotts but with the huge garden next door, not sure I'd go for carrotts......

How neat Stanzie that you got to meet Betty White!!! I knew she loved animals, but how sweet that she went out of her way to meet all the dogs. Sorry to hear that Liesl is still having problems though....hoping the food with pepsid will work! What excitement on your street....good thing Betty White didn't see you trying to get Liesl to pee in the cup....but she probably would have thought it was funny. Maybe even used it in her monologue if she gets to host SNL again...wouldn't that be something!

There's our gorgeous genius, Beans! I already knew what she looked like, but glad the rest can see now too! Love your rain picture, why on earth would want to take it down? You can look at it for strength!

Astorm, love the Easter Bunny story. Children are just amazing! My grandson is gifted as well, he has been reading since before he was 3. They said he is now reading at the level of an 8 year old. He also has terrible "meltdowns", as his mother calls them, and can/does get violent and mouthy. So I think treatment for him is very important. I really think his parents need treatment as well!

Stanzie, DID YOU GET PICTURES? How nice of Betty to come and say hello. And I am sure she was understanding of Sean. Still hoping Leisl pulls out of all this. How old is she?

Kathy, besides being a jack of all trades, you are work-aholic! You just amaze me. Please keep an eye on that cut so it doesn't get infected.

As for the donations, I wasn't expecting thousands....but certainly more than $4.50! I also expected more women (survivors, or women in treatment) to approach me. I only had 4. We will do a few more shows, see how it goes. Next one I think is in January. At least it won't be so hot then!

    DOTD......how about ........Purple Rain

Thanks for our DOTD Lori! I can hear Prince singing in the background.... I've never seen a drink that color b4; verrrrry interesting! But WTH I'm thirsty, so will have Pants make it. Hope donations go better for your next show! Well, I'm not exactly the jack of all trades (jill maybe? j/k!), but out of necessity have learned to do a lot of repairs. Its amazing sometimes what you can do. However when it involves strength, it is out of my league. I made the mistake of redoing my back yard at our previous home....put in curved walkways to wooded area, and planted ground covers, monkey grass, etc so it would be easy care. Prob is, I did it all on my hands and knees with hand tools and now I don't have any strength in my wrists. SO sometimes I do things without thinking (like getting cut on that rusty metal), and suffer for it later! But with our bad luck with repairmen, contractors, etc., I do like to do whatever I can!

Here's to Purple Rain, or.....Raining Men!

Wow Stanzie!!!!  So thrilled, but suspected that Betty White was a neat lady.  Major life lesson is that she really came into her own later on.  For a long time, she was in the shadow of her husband.

I was absent from the virtual bar yesterday, but celebrating my one year oncology visit which I passed with flying colors.  Upshot was that she wants to know what I am doing exercise-wise.  This is a woman 20 years younger than I am.  So now I have it confirmed that I am OK.

Then a client meeting where we got some feedback on how to do something better next time.  So not all is lost with the item we missed out on last month.  There was other stuff, but nice to know that we can backtrack and redo.

Today is follow up for company I am interviewing with and headhunter.  Plus moving forward with consulting work.  Interesting how I procrastinated with the follow up, but really do feel more confident with one year checkpoint behind me (oncologist and internist agree I am doing just fab).

I am feeling the need for some champagne coming on!!!!! - Claire

Yay, Claire! Congrats on your good check up and good luck with the headhunter and consulting. I've started a consulting biz almost 13 years ago and it was great up until the recent economic downturn. I need to get myself into an accounting firm so that I can get my license anyway so maybe it's for the best.

Lori - thanks for the drink! Gotta call a client this morning but after that I'll definately want some Purple Rain. It's gloomy here. On the GS, parentling as never easy (as you know, I'm sure). If someone was asking to help me with my 17 YO right now I'd be all over that! Maybe they'll realize at some point that there are many avenues and resources to help them and their child.

Kathy - the loss of strength and being able to lift things is really buggin me too. I'm the handyman in my house. DH is a white collar kind of guy and every time he picks up a tool I know I'll be getting out my contractor list and writing a check. Tools have disappeared over the years... just the dangerous ones. Anything that requires a pipe wrench should be avoided so pipe wrench disappeared years ago. I do miss the projects I used to do around the house -- especially in the yard. I made a list last year of all the things I want to do when I can: paint ceiling in DD's room, replace garden fence, put raised beds in garden, build small deck by bedroom, tile walk and entry... alas, I do not know when I will ever be up to these tasks. Plan B is to make more money so I can hire some muscle.

Stanzie - cool! I always liked Betty White... those little dogs are chick magnets. My roommate couldn't believe I watched Golden Girls and laughed... out loud. She was great on SNL.

Hope everyone is having a great day. See you after work!

AStorm, We sure have a lot of similarities! What we need to do is get together and both work on one of our homes at a time....then we could accomplish soooo much! My DH sounds the same....scared me when he grabbed the circular saw and didn't even know how to turn it on! So, like you, I am the "handyman" at our house. Learned how to use all the tools 18 yr ago when I was widowed....my late DH was very good at fixing/building things so I learned a lot by assisting. And yeah, it sometimes is safer when dangerous tools "just disappear"...LOL. But it kills me when we hire work done and they just don't do things right and we end up with a big mess....cause I can't do the high-up repairs, or like you, the strength-needed repairs. So I try to do whatever I am capable of. Yup, I have done fences, tile, etc. like you.....I think we need a gallon of the "Purple Rain" and just sit on our laurels for a bit!

    BARMEN!

Kathy - whenever a contractor makes a mess I advise him that people hire professionals because they expect professional results (I'm thinking... as opposed to the mess my DH would make for free). Would he like me to make a mess of his tax return? Or maybe not deliver his paycheck on time? We remodeled out kitchen about 5 years ago and there is no end to the problems. Sometimes I just want to stand in the middle of the room and scream, "Am I the only one who has to do her job right!?" Hence, I have become the handyman. I'd rather do it myself than pay someone with a tool belt... unless he is worth looking at maybe. Like the new Desparate Housewives hunk or some of the guys that pop up here at HTL.

Laughing at both of you ladies.  I was married to one of these as well.  I cringe when I think of some of the things he did.  And then I got to straighten it out.

I am better at electrical stuff than general fixing, but OK at some plumbing work.  That doesn't mean what I have yet rewired the Goodwill lamp I got though.  Chemo is no excuse.  I could have done it.

Main Squeeze is just the opposite, but since I live in an apartment now, I don't get to use "that set of talents".  Other talents are fine though.

Just followed up with Talent Manager where I interviewed.  Now on to headhunter.  Did I mention that I have work I need to get moving on as well?

Don't sweat the loss of strength.  I preserved mine, and that got me a major moving party invite.  Was the only one who showed up that day!!!!  Great news is that I paid off six months of favors in one fell swoop.  Not often you can settle up so easily and quickly Tongue out

Stanzie-what fun to meet Betty White! I think it's hilarious that she wanted to meet all the dogs on her break. About catching some Liesl pee-I once watched a woman catch some pee from her girl dog using a long handled ladle. Once the pup was squatted she just stuck the bowl of the ladle under poochie in the appropriate place and caught some. Apparently that doggie had piddle problems on a regular basis as the lady had a plastic ladle with the dog's name written on the handle in sharpie.

Goldie-love the DOTD. I love anything with Chambord in it, and love drinking Chambord straight, too. Maybe people are in donation overload. I know I've been hit up for donations for several bc events, local sports clubs, local grade school fundraisers, and half a dozen other things. I'm barely making ends meet and I'm beginning to resent all these requests for help. None of that help was there when I needed (and still need) it.

Claire-Congrats on the all clear! It does feel good to hear those words, doesn't it?

AStorm-since there is just me and the dog here in the house, if I can't get something done it doesn't happen. I don't like not being able to see a problem, drag out all the stuff necessary to fix it, fix it, put stuff away and then move on with whatever I was doing before. I hate asking friends for help, but sometimes I just have to. Fortunately my friends are easy bribes-one pan of lasagna goes a long, long way!

Lasagna, NM? Ummmmmm.....what is it you need help with??? J/K, but that IS a good bribe! I bet AStorm and I would both show up!

Pau Hana Time! They tore up over 50sf of the wood flooring today, and yes subfloor was wet and yes, there was mold. These people put up a HUGE dehumidifier, and between the air movement from that, the dust, the mold, my allergies are drivin me nuts! Hope they get the dampness and mold taken care of in a couple of days. AAARRGGHHHHH....and all because we had the a'c guy replace our cutoff valve so we could cut off the "water closet" if needed. Its a bummer when you do something as a preventative, and it causes another problem!!

Anyway, I'm ready to party, how about you all???

On my way to NM's for lasagne!

Kathy - teaming up sounds like a plan but I think I'll wait until the floor is back. I just know we are going to have subfloor problems in one of our bathrooms ... I was going to rip up the tile and replace it but I'm afraid of what I'll find under there.

Gosh, while you guys are working with power tools, (Kathy, AStorm) I was seeing if I could get my large hot rollers in my hair yet.  Answer = NO!  I get tired of the curling iron ordeal but am not going to spend money on a new set of smaller hot rollers.  Lori....I know kinda how ya feel with the hair growing out thing although mine is not curly.  Beanius...your are beautiful as a wet head, and a dry head, and would be as an airhead which I know your not.  Speaking of airheads, Betty White....I did also love her on SNL!  She always plays the part of an airhead but is a very intelligent woman!  She is a hoot!  Hope Liesl is doing better, and NM, I think your thing about the ladle is a great idea.  Girl dog of course would be easier.  I would also love some lasagna.  Awww...sounds yummy!  Dee, how are you?  Haven't heard from you in a bit!  Claire, congrats on your great checkup.  I think that is awesome.  Junie, I didn't put out any bird feeders this year.  Not sure why.  I guess maybe because I didn't clean our deck?  What a lazy girl I am.  Kitty, glad you could meet the TaTa's again.  Hope you are feeling OK!  Cheers to all!  Me

Kathy, I don't think we will do the donation thing any more.....we'll see.

Claire, congrats on the 1 year, definately worth celebrating!

Thanks Stanzie, I have emailed Kelley to ask how things were going and what the mixed feelings were with her husband. Haven't heard back from her! I hope I didn't make her mad in any way. LOL, at the disappearing tools!

Astorm, we do have some eye candy here, don't we! Oh ya!

NM, trying to picture the ladel story....ROTFL! But good idea, yes! You could be right about the donation thing as well, which is why we may not do it again. But hey, it was worth a try! Sure glad you got some good friends that just a pan of lasagna will pay off!

HD, hot rollers is about the only thing I DONT have! My hair needs a trim and highlight, but I want to wait until I go to MI in Nov. so I can have my hair gal from there do it. So I am trying to hang in there with this mop!

Beans, you crack me up with your language and spelling! Glad you have sumpin good to say about the stair oids and that you made the trip just fine. You and Kitty are closing in on the end of chemo......hang in there!

MrsN, aren't you doing chemo as well?

Well, 1 year ago today I was in Kauai getting ready to be married. DH just came in and told me to be in the FJ (my suv) at 11:45 with an over night bag! So, DOTD.......DUH!

Awwwwww Lori, How Romantic!!!! And what a beautiful drink to celebrate with. It is such fun when the guys think of a surprise and we don't know where in the heck we are going! Be sure to let us know tomorrow where you went (but spare the intimate details...don't want to be jealous...LOL)! Just kidding. I am so glad you will have a very romantic anniversary!!! Since we celebrate every month on the 9th (day we met, and day we got married), when the year anniversary comes around it sort of loses its significance. But my DH is very romantic too (more so than I am!), and sticks little love notes ALL OVER the place, most days.

I will enjoy the champagne you presented, and toast to you and DH, having many, many more happy years together!!!! Here's to you both (raises champagne glass)!!!!!!

Yes Beans, I too am enjoying your fun way of writing! SO creative, I'm always anxious to see what you are going to post next. HunkyD,AStorm,Claire,Junie,NM,Dee,MrsNice,Stanzie, and all you lovely ladies here.....lets have champagne ALL DAY in honor of Lori's first anniversary!

I am starting by celebrating the SUNRISE!!!  Just the most glorious one, and I can see the Olympic Mountains in the distance across the Puget Sound.  Last night's sunset was spectacular as well.  Just magical.  I was out doing some errands on foot, so got to see it in all its splendor.  Even pink end-of-day light on Mt Rainier.

Loving this time of year, and yes, I will join you ladies in several glasses of champagne.

Cheers to Lori and spouse! Nice of your DH to tell you to pack a bag. Mine surprised me with a B&B night for an anniversary and packed for me... nothing I could wear together and no shoes. Hmm, maybe that was strategic - as I recall, I refused to leave the room.

Kathy, that's sweet about your DH. I don't get love notes from mine Frown but he does text me occasionally to remind me that he still loves me... I guess that counts.

HD, thanks for the reminder... I need a new bird feeder. I have thistle feeders for the goldfinches and nuthatches but the chickadees, sparrows and flycatchers all prefer a small platform. There used to be a great wild bird store in town but it closed recently and even Smith & Hawkins is gone so...  ooo it would be fun to make a bird feeder. Sure, let's just put that on the list... I just had a great idea for Christmas. DH is always asking me (or my daughters) what I want and then he buys little things for me that I then have to find a place for. I could just give him my to-do list and let him choose a project for which he would HIRE A CONTRACTOR.

AStorm - Cute bunny story, your kids sound adorable! Loved the Drambuie Rusty Nail and will be having more today! It was 34 deg when we got up today!  On another subject... our biz has definitely been hit by this recession!! Good luck with the accounting firm and license - "you can do anything you set your mind to!" Geeawwd, speaking of lack of professionalism - we had 4 so called "building contractors" come out to bid on our proposed mountain cabin. Only 1 had a business card, none had portfolios of homes they had built, one could hardly put three words together to make a sentence. One seemed like he hated home building and it would be a real hassle. One wanted me to drive 30 miles to meet him at a gas station to look at my plans. Oye vey. We're holding off for now. Maybe DH and I will just do it ourselves next spring when the snow melts.

NM- Great pee catching tip!! I'll have to remember that one! You can bribe me with lasagna! Need anything???

HD - I'm jealous you can work with your hair! Mine is still there, but I'm scared to touch it. Every day more comes out. I've heard that normally we lose 100 hairs a day, so I'm losing those plus a little more. I can't wait till I can get it trimmed again and not look so much like Cousin It!!

Wahine - I started jogging in HS and have done so off and on for life. But when my Dear Old Dad was going downhill I got depressed, so many urgent flights to CA for one emergency after another, I got really out of shape and put on a lot of creeping weight. Beeen working on taking it off for a long time now. The first 10 lbs was with Weight Watchers online. I'm only 5'3" a few lbs makes a big dif! I'm still above my goal from the BCO website, but little by little I'll get there. Boy oh boy, good luck with all the reno work, it's a big hassle. We are capable of anything! My DH always tells me "you can do anything you set your mind to." And darn if he isn't right. Sometimes when I think I can't and then can it's amazing, of course we watched Star Wars about a zillion trillion times, so maybe it's The Force??? Way cool pic you found!

Stanzie - It is fun seeing everyone!! You gave me courage to post my old pic, and the recent one. That is so neet you met Betty White, I always liked her performances. Good to know she's nice too! How fun!!!! Oh I hope Liesl is okay, please keep us posted. Wahine is right, glad Betty didn't see you trying to get Liesl to pee in a cup - LOL!

Goldie - I guess it's okay to leave the rain pic up...next time I'll do a wet T-shirt pic - tee hee!!! I do hope your grandson gets the tx he needs, sounds like he is a really neet kid and very gifted. $4.50! That's terrible! So sorry not that many people donated, but I think so many are outta work and $$$'s tight??? I'm glad you got to meet 4 bc women - how did that go? A few months ago I saw a woman in a dept store with a bc survivor pink hat on and I wanted to talk to her, but it was all still so recent for me that I started tearing up and lost courage to approach her, knowing I'd just melt down and make a fool of myself (one more time!!!). Eventually I'll get a grip (I hope). Purple Rain is perfect, what a lovely drink!!! And GIGANTIC CONGRATULATIONS on your 1 year wedding anniversary! That is so special and the champagne looks beautiful!! I'm going to snag some for myself!!

Claire- Congratulations on yer one year onc visit!! That must feel so good! I double checked yesterday with my oncologist that my exercise is okay even though my wbc is down some and it's all a go-go! It helps my mental state so much!! Glad you could get things worked out with your client and good luck again with the job hunt and consulting work. Cheers to you!! Glad you are having a pretty day in Seattle - it was gorgeous there yesterday. When you can see the mountains it's magnificent!

Thanks to you all for your kind words about my avatar and encouraging words about my exercise program. My avatar is from my 2004 head shot that was highly brushed. I did get my hair done that day and that's about the best it's looked...ever...I think...The rain one is the real me....what you see is what you get.

So I have to tell you I just cracked myself up all day yesterday on my long drive across the state. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and WA is so dang gorgeous in the sun, the mountains, trees, rivers, ayeee, lovely day. I was in a great mood and all supercharged on steroids and chemo cocktail, and I was drinking anything I could get my hands on to flush the Kemmadingdong out: diet Dr. Pepper (yuck!), diet 7-up, diet Squirt, Rainier Ice King of Artesian Water, gasoline, lighter fluid, really just anything, gallons and gallons. So, of course, I'm driving and, of course, I had to pit stop at just about every gas station and bar across the state. And it occurred to me that I really should change my name from Beanius to PEE-nius, but then I think you see the problem with that.

Just when that popped in my head on the radio came the song, "Only the good die young." And I had that aaahaa feeling that my insurance was bought, and I'll live a long dastardly life for being so bad. I also ate a cheebourgeee and fraunch fries - bad, bad, bad!!!

Sorry for the long post, just skip it if you're bored. Hope you are all having a wonderful, beautiful, (bad girl) day!! Many cheers and blessings!!! ~Peen-ius

Hi Beans......with your new signature, hope DH is safe.  Or he may be grateful when the steriods wear off.  I remember how thrilled Main Squeeze was when I changed over from AC to Taxol and had some energy.

On the subject of keeping the party going, one of my friends told me he has a problem he wants my help with......too many bottles of pinot!!!!

Now there's one I am happy to help with.

As for the cheeseburger part.  I have to remind myself that Metropolitan Market's bacon blue cheeseburgers are a special treat, not a staple.  But sooooooo good.  As for what to have with, see pinot comment above. - Claire

Oh my gawd!  I am LMAO at Beans post.  I love hearing all the wonderful stories.  By the way, there is no way in hell I could even drive in Seattle traffic.  Happy anniversary to Lori!  Hope you have a wonderful time.  Seems like just yesterday you got married.  Peace Out!  HD

I have had a very, very nice day.  While I was at work a couple freinds came by with my favorite coffee, then took my care to fix the flat tire.  When I got done work the guys were still there, had replaced all 4 tires, taken the car for inspection, and "kidnapped" me for lunch and a movie!  I'm is such a good mood I feel like cooking, so I'm taking over the lounge kitchen and making a big batch of lasagna noodles, setting them to dry while I make a huge batch of lasagna sauce.  Then while that's simmering I leave the tenders in charge while I go get some tubs of ricotta and some quality parmesian cheese to grate over the top, and a few foil pans to fill up with lasagna and put in the freezer!  And I am really going to enjoy sipping the champange while I roll, cut, simmer, and layer!

    Dear Hunky...

Seattle is a picnic compared to the days I used to do the White Plains NY to Princeton NJ run.  (I lived north of there, so giving this as a reference.)  I had to be out of the house prior to the crack of dawn and was dead meat if I didn't get through Newark by 7:10 AM.  Then on to Route 1.  Remember one time I needed a pit stop so badly that I saw stars every time I depressed the clutch.

I also got so good that I knew where all the fuzz were lurking on the Garden State Parkway for the trip back!!!!!

The only thing I find challenging about Seattle is stick-shift-on-hills.  I can't tell you how much better I am at this one after all my trips to Group Health (top of Capitol Hill).  This includes timing lights so I don't get stuck in mid-hill.

Actually, the biggest driving challenge here isn't Seattle traffic.  It's when it's snowy or icy in the mountain passes.  I have come down off Snoqualmie Pass in low gear going 5 mph praying that other drivers knew what they were doing.  Need to get my brain around this one as they are predicting a great ski season.

Anyway, love my Subaru and made sure I got tires where I wouldn't be one of the poor suckers chaining up. (As in getting sprayed with slop while putting on chains prior to going over, and then repeating the process on the other end.)

Now, there's an excuse for a Hot Toddy if there ever was one!!! - Claire

    Hi all,

Quick pop in - Beanie - don't know what to say about your new name - glad you sounded it out before telling someone outloud without thinking...LOL!

YES! Pee collected! Liesl and I slept late this am and I kept her on the bed a little longer than usual so she was about to pop and we went outside with cup... I tied to follow her on the grass but she got so excited that we could go out to the pool she ran onwards then stopped off to pee but it was right above where they was a big dip in the yard so she had no idea I was holding the cup underneath! Whew!

So have been adding new prescription food to her old dry food and so far so good even though she wants treats all the time.

Only a few more days of movie shooting left. They are ahead of schedule due to the fabulous weather here. So Friday or Monday might be the last day and they won't work over the weekend.

More to comment on other's activities tomorrow! Cheers and Happy Snoozing!

OMG! OMG! OMG!   Laffin my butt off!    Miss a few days and no way to catch up!!!!   Have given up on the bird feeders--they are emptied out each morning!  grrrrr.   Now I remember why I didn't put them out last year.

I'm shipping a supply of 16-oz "pee" cups to Beans, along with instructions!!!   Only way to make a car trip of over an hour!  LOVE, the new name!!!   Gonna have toooo much fun with that one!!!!

Congrats to all who still have a romance spark going!   We're in the phase of terrific hallway sex---you know, where you pass each other and mutter, "screw you!"....  LOL--this, too, shall pass!

I had a momentous HTL moment this evening.   We went to dinner at our local Elks lodge.   Someone stood up and asked for a few moments of silence to remember an iconic community member who had recently died (I did not know her...).    After a few moments, he raised his head and said, "amen".   Others chimed in with their amens, and out of my mouth popped, BARMEN!!!  Luckily, I controlled the immediate fit of giggles raging inside me!    Y'all are a terrible influence on me!!!!    dH quizzed me on the way home and I couldn't contain it--fessed up and had a good laugh.....when he has me committed, I'm using you all as character references to spring me!!!!

Happy Hump Day to ALL--but, it's late, so probably should be saying have a Terrific Thursday!!!  Then we're at TGIF!!!  Time flies when you're having fun!!!

Heading off to find Jocks or Pants and a bucket and lots of ice and lots of...dog beers!!!

    Huggsss to ALL!!!!
