Wahine - sorry to hear about your DH.  I hope he continues to get better.  (((hugs)))

Lori  - yes, we did have a dead battery not too long ago.  And our gen wasn't working on the RV a couple weeks ago.  However, DH got it all fixed.  I'm glad he's handy!  :)

Tomorrow is Taxol #10, and then 2 more to go after that!  And then, like Beanius, it's off to rads I go!

Lori, Hope you found time to pack, and are off on a great trip! We'll miss you, so try to post if you get a chance.

Beans and Kitty, YAY......getting closer to the end of chemo!!! You both have such good, upbeat attitudes that I often forget what you are going through. Thanks for the hugs, kitty! Beans, do you have a hangover like I do? There was tooooo much to drink since no one else showed up for happy hour with us. Boy, didn't Pants and Jocks wait on us hand and footWink. And mum's the word about anything else they did for us!!! What happens at the HTL stays at the HTL...lol.

NM, Wish I could find that T-shirt for ya! You could prob have one custom made though. I still laugh when I think about that shirt. Anxiously waiting for our DOTD...

Dee, where are you girl????? You know how much we love you here and miss you sooooo much when you are MIA. C'mon back!!!

Jaybird, where oh where are you? I guess you're flying the friendly skies somewhere! Haven't heard from you in awhile, and hope Avery is doing fantastic. What'cha drinking nowadays???

DH is doing real good, still waiting on word on some tests, but hope they will be fine too. I really appreciate everyone's concern...thanks so much! Now to try to resume the renovation $hit and all that goes along with it. Maybe the "subfloor" look will be in vogue someday??? j/k. Junie, HD, AStorm, MrsNice, Claire, chrissyb (where are you chrissy?), and anyone I missed, hope everyone is doing well.....Happy Hump Day!!!

    Hi Beans.....

I was on a study that required I take SIX Acetyl-L-Carnitine per day for five months.  So I get the "no pills" part.  Like you, I am thrilled to be down to vitamins + anastrazole.  But that's it.

I was so worried that they would find something with my physical that would require some additional medication.  But nothing.

Now, here are a couple of things I can drink to.

As for a real hangover, was just talking to a friend of mine who was "networking" last night in NYC with friends.  Think she is still the worse for wear.

Beanie-two thirds done!  Almost there!  Then glow-in-the-dark time!

Wahine-I'm up for a long happy hour!  See you pool side!

Kittcat-Hooray for being almost ready to glow-in-the-dark yourself!

Claire-I've always thought "networking" was busineman's code for "getting drunk," now I know I'm right!

Let's see, what shall we have for a DOTD?  Pretty quiet hump day around here.

    How about a Camel Hump?

    ¾ shot butterscotch schnapps

    ¼ shot Irish Cream

Asking Jocks for a pitcher of "Camel Hump"--sounds yummy!!!!

Well, the contents of the storage unit are now in the garage.   It has been quite the day.   Have only had one misunderstanding so far.......dH had a good idea--he wanted to "triage" crap as we put it in the garage (until the dumpster is delivered...)--keep, look through, immediately pitch, with the immediatley pitch going to the back of the garage.    Well, I thought that was stoopid and made the mistake of saying so!!!   Seems that his back of the garage is what I consider to be the front of the garage!     I wonder if we will ever speak the same language!!     He did offer to take me out for dinner, but too tired--so having a doctored up cardboard pizza........

Toasting Kitty and Beans--almost to rads!  I was lucky to have a little break between chemo and rads.   The drs worked it out so I could attend a week-long mgt tng seminar in RENO!!    I was so wiped out from chemo, but managed to stay in class for 8 hrs each day and gamble a little at night (ok, and during a few lunch breaks!!!)     Rads wasn't bad--worst thing was having to be at the same place at the same time for about 6 weeks....hang in there; it will go by fast!!!

Stayed up waaaay too late last nite to watch the first of the miners brought to the surface--so amazing!!!

    Happy hump day to ALL!!!

Taking my pitcher out to the pool.   Sounds like you all partied hearty last night!--anybody up for round two?????

...cheers to big ears, cHairs, safe travels, renovations, tx, networking, yada yada yada...

I'll just have some dog beers with a straw, thanks. I used to love butterscotch but I had to take a butterscotch-flavored prescription recently and I can still taste it. :(   Long day... no sleep due to hot flashes and then had to leave the beach to go to work and it was really hot today... glad to be back in the fog. I read somewhere that alcohol makes hot flashes worse. That can't be true! I need to stop reading. Why can't it be brussel sprouts? Yeah, brussel sprouts induce hot flashes... you heard it here first!

Hi ya girls, sorry I've been absent, but I'm on Kangaroo Island babysitting my sister's house, dog, cat, fish and two chickens while her and her partner are in Western Australia attending a wedding and doing a little sight seeing while they are there.  I've been here for almost two weeks now and will be here for another week and a half before I head back home.  I've been out most days taking photos....so far over a thousand......so I really have a lot of editing to do before I will post the odd one or two (dozen).  Oh, this is the biggest, sookiest animal I'm baby sitting....her name is MJ.  She is a ridgeback/bullmastiff cross and she weighs about 130lb. (She thinks she's only little).  She's sitting on my 15 yr old grandson watching television.

AStorm - LOL, yes it's brussel sprouts that cause hot flashes so continue with your dog beeer. P.S. Everything still  tastes weird, except, I'm not usually a candy eater, but lately the reese's peeee-nut butter cups and pretty much anything chocolate tastes exceptionally good. Weird what a ton of chemicals will do to you...all the savory stuff is yuck-O, gag me lately. Still no hot flashes??? Maybe when I get to take Tammy after my sun tan. Happy Happy Joy Joy!!

chrissy - good to hear from you! Cool looking doggy!! And your grandson looks so handsome! Hope to see more pics when you get time.

I would like to request a nice hot chocolaty boozy icky sweet drink with peeeee-nut butter cups on the side...

    like junie sez, "BARMEN!!!!!!!!"

chrissy, Welcome back! I have often wondered what Kangaroo Island was like, and it must be beautiful for you to be taking so many pictures. Lotsa birds there too? Your grandson is a "hunk in the making"...soon (if not already) you will have lots of girls after him! Very handsome guy. And the sweet doggie....so precious that he thinks hes little!!! LOL

YES, I knew it was brussels sprouts (although I do like them; likker is better!)!!! But I do notice alkohall does seem to make my "perpetual summer" get worse. Good try!

Beans, I am with you on the p-nut buttah cups! Maybe something like a DQ Blizzard w/ p-nut butter cups and vodka??? Unfortunately I always love sweets...my downfall.

Junie, Once you get this clutter-busting thing perfected, will you PULEEZ come and help me??? I think of the "front" of the garage as where the garage doors are....funny that you both had differing ideas on that! But I sure could use a TON of help once you are done...I am making "baby steps" via flylady.com right now. TOO many other things to do though....flooring, countertops, fridge (coming in a couple wks I hope), outside repairs, repairs and upkeep at my parents places, etc.,etc. Trying not to do any big trips till Dec, and see how much we can get done. I do like to watch "Clean House" though and am trying to get some good hints there. Good luck to you on that HUGE project!!!

DH just called the dr, and just 39% blockage in carotid, and other areas were about 30%, so they think that is real good. YAY.I guess he will be playing r'ball in a wk or so....go figure! SO much to do today, and been waiting on the renovator to see if he might finish his part today....would rather be at the HTL getting drunk and pampered!!!!

    Barmen! Chairs!!! ChEARS!!!

    Good morning Ladies,

Beans.....I was craving Greek God's Chocolate Fig ice cream at the end of AC.  Haven't since.  I also wanted very salty foods.  A few days later, I couldn't believe how salty the stuff was.

Chrissy....My idea of a lap dog.  Actually, someone that size is a roommate!!!

All...........found this great book yesterday.  I stopped my favorite wine bar for a glass of kick butt red, then decided to have some rose champagne to celebrate my great internist and oncology checkups.  Anyway, there was a book there: Good Drinks for Bad Days.

Know what I am giving some of my friends for Christmas!!!!  Really does a good job of matching the drink to the occasion.  Some include a "From Bad to Worse" which gives you tips for strengthening the potion when the going gets really tough.

BTW - red wine does make me warm at night, but no worse than prior to treatment.  You will notice not nearly warm enough to cause me to give it up.

wahine - yay for DH!!! (now you can get him to do the work -tee hee). And I do think vodka would be extra special with pbutt cups...

claire - weird taste changes...for a while craving protein, then pickles, now CANDY!!! (and always vodka)...sounds like a goood booook.

Been workin lots, but still sipping at every coffee (and baileys) break. Looking forward to happy hour. Anyone know what's on tap today????

ChrissyB....that is a big lap dog!  MJ probably rules the roost.  I need that dog here now as I am alone. She would make me feel safe.  Not used to being by myself.  That robbery here is still too fresh in my chemofried brain.  I am not a happy camper but that is just too bad.  I hope there is some likker here and someone to talk to.  I thought about emailing myself, but then figured it would somehow probably end up in my junk mail.  Chemo girls....way to hang in there.  Kathy, glad your DH is A-OK!  Not going to try for a marathon post now...headed to the pool to see what's floating!  Tears!  HD

Joining you in the pool....floating along....had to leave our beach, that "Sex on the Beach" got too intense...LOL. Dry your tears....lets party!!!

HD....your picture reminds me of a story I just told Main Squeeze.  Forgot what reminded me of it.

A friend of mine....Oxford grad who lives in the country in New England.....was venturing out in the very early AM to get the paper.  So was in her nightdress, and had mosquito netting around her head as those were biting.  And as a rabbit was chomping on the garden, also had a shotgun and was on the lookout.

Anyway, a neighbor caught a look of her in this get-up, let out a scream, and fled!!!

I am joining the party by imbibing higher quality wine.  Other was OK, but this one is worthy of a PAR-TAY!!!  Gloomy and damp here at the moment, so a wonderful accompanyment to a fab evening.

I think there will be snow on the mountains this week so should be the most splendid views.

    Cheers!!!!
