Poochies are having their tale-gate at the Pooch Park. NM, WOWSERS....like Kathy said, that drink would surely knock one on their butt. With all those ingredients tho, I must admit...it sounds AWFUL!

Well Junie and I got together last night and decided to exercise. We were doing 8 oz. curls. Then decided to really get a workout and switched to 12 oz. curls.

Stole this from NM)  Everyone hop on the party bus, we're heading out to a Cider Mill for apple cider and donuts, then a walk through the pumkin patch and corn maze, and end the day with a haunted hayride with spiked cider and donies!

    Hot Spiked Cider

    INGREDIENTS
    4 cups apple cider
    1 cinnamon stick
    5 whole cloves
    1/2 cup apple brandy
    2 tablespoons cinnamon schnapps
    Cinnamon sticks for garnish

Bring apple cider, cinnamon stick and cloves to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add applejack and schnapps. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve hot WITH MORE DONUTS!

What a fun day you have planned for us, Lori! And weather is just purrfect. OK, quick fact to share, b4 everyone gets too drunk to care...lol. Besides it being neat being 10-10-10 (any my late DH's and my anniv).....this month of October has FIVE Fridays, FIVE Saturdays, and FIVE Sundays....apparently this happens only every 823 years!!!! Well, I thought it was neat, anyway! OK, 'nuff learning...everyone try to find your way out of that corn maze.....

I will drink to all this.....just don't get lost in the corn maze. I was going to do a long group ride, but was pouring earlier with tons of nasty clouds headed this way, so I bailed. (Ride was probabably cancelled.)

Now, it looks like clouds will ge going east of here, so will probably do 20 miles of flat trail. That one works for me, and the trails empty out when the weather is foul.

Thanks Wahine for all the cool October stuff. Sort of like Easter 2009 which was unbelieveably early. Anyway, more excuses to celebrate. Bring it on.

Hi all - Oh so much to catch up on..... the elvis Hawaian Wedding - lovely romantic, and so sweet - what a great anniversay and how great you all found each other!

Kathy - so sorry about the renovation woes - if I can be of help in anyway - you know been there.... let me know. Yes the house across the street from the filming is a tutor. They didn't film over the weekend but had a security guard the whole time. So these two elderly ladies are walking and stop to take a picture of each other in front of the house. So this friend kidding arounds yells in jest oh no now I'll have to call security- on that note the security guy comes out and offers to take their picture in front of the house for them. I will say we have had full police protection while this has been going on - as in about 6 policeman for the block - and they are having fun so they are fun and very friendly. They will be done either tomorrow or Tuesday:(.

So not much time but today was my boy's birthday 10/10/10 but they didn't turn 10 - they turned 14. If I can figure out about posting a picture I have a very fun picture from their birthday. My cousin from Arizona is visiting and we have gone non-stop all day getting ready for the party then my computer froze which was a total pain as we did a scavenger hunt and all the info was frozen on the computer!! Very stressful but all went well in the end. Haven't really slept in days so will catch up in the next few days!!!

Adore the young HD - just totally adorable!!!! I'll get the picture thing going one day.... Ugh too much to do......

Hey girls!!  I am home from camping.... and it was RV camping - not tent camping!!  We had a great time, but I am tired!  We had a tire blowout on the RV on our way home today (only a mile from our house).  My DH got it changed and we got home safely!  I wore my "camping wig" but got tired of it and wore my "normal wig" - I could not bring myself to be bald (or almost bald, as my hair is growing in).  Yipeee!!!

Lori - love the pic of the pups.  Sooo cute!!!

I am trying to get caught up on BCO, but I am tired!  I hope you all had a great weekend!!!  Happy 10 10 10.  :)

I had no idea it was 10-10-10, thanks for the reminder K. Not sure about the Anniversary! Do we wish you a Happy one? Interesting about the 5-Fri, Sat and Sundays.

Stanzie, Happy Birthday to your boys. I remember doing scavenger hunts as a kid. Loved them...going around the neighborhood and asking for items. As for pictures, if you know how to send them in email, I can post for you.

Kitty, welcome home. Glad you were able to enjoy! But didn't you guys, not too long ago, have a flat or dead battery? If my memory serves me correctly (which isn't very often) it was at a grocery store?

Not many posts, so no inspiration for a DOTD. Where is everyone? Lost in the corn maze? Which BTW, I have no idea why the other one won't post. I tried it twice, so I have a new one!

We are heading out and this time I am like Kathy in packing. Haven't even started. Not sure what to take, as currently it is showing the temps to be in the low 70's, which is perfect. But I am affraid if I pack for warm, it will most certainly change on me! Maybe take for both, at least we can do laundry at my MIL's.

    Happy Monday!

How about a Corn Maze for the DOTD?

    1 oz Apple Brandy
    1 oz Sweet Sherry
    2 oz Sparkling Apple Juice

OK, I am miffed.  I have uninstalled and re-installed firefox, I've uninstalled windows updates, I reset the firewal settings and I STILL can't post pictures here!  I do not know what update screwed up my computer, and I am NOT happy.  Maybe it's time to ditch firefox and go back to internet explorer.

NM, I think Stazie was having troubles too, when trying to post her avatar. Then used a different computer that had IE, and it worked. So it could very well be Firefox.

Hi gals, Well 10-10-10 did not turn out to be a good day for me. Had to take DH to the ER, and they kept him last nght and right now he is having a heart catheterization (as I type), so any good thoughts and prayers from any of you would be appreciated! I am grateful they have wifi, or I would really go nuts. I will let you know when I know more.

    Hope everyone is doing well,

Thanks for the Corn Maze, NM. Sorry I missed the party... busy having a Perfect 10 Day:

    • DH noticed the wiener dog peed on the towel left on the floor BEFORE he put it back on the towel bar. That's a first!
    • Bathed a corigi in the bathtub and didn't have to call a plumber.
    • Bathed 2 cats without getting scratched and they still love me.
    • DH didn't fall off the roof when he tripped while painting the chimney.
    • Got almost all the paint off the new patio furtniture, umbrella, the bricks and my favorite sundress.
    • The white paint splotches we couldn't get off the bricks look "natural" since we live near the beach.
    • DD didn't hit anything with her car since Tuesday.
    • PS says I can get an ultrasound before they biopsy the new lump that has developed 6 weeks after I got my 2nd implants.

I guess today is some sort of holiday? DH is working but my clients are not. One DD is in school but one is off. And I'm here trying to catch up!

Kathy - yikes! Hope everything is ok and you are seeing the "perfect 10 side" of things... and by perfect 10 I mean everything is ok with your DH's heart and it was just one of those silly tricks our bodies pull to get our attention.

    Welcome home, Heather.

Shoot! The cat hissed at the wiener dog and gave him hiccups. Hope everyone has a perfect day!

Thanks girls! AStorm sorry your "perfect 10" day was anything but that! But the way you wrote, made me crack up! Good to have a sense of humor thats for sure. Also, Beans, and HD too...thanks for the concern. It LOOKS GOOD!!! Dr that did the cath said all looked good, no need for stents. Will have to follow up w/ his cardio dr to find out why all the other probs. But what a relief! He was so hungry since he didn't eat since yesterday am, that he ate 2 lunches! Might get to go home late afternoon or tonight. He wants to get dinner here though...feels they owe him one since they never brought him one last night (they were supposed to). Still has to take it easy for a couple wks, and pretty soon they will get up upright. Thanks again....you all are the best! Kathy

Wahine - Whew! Glad things are looking good for DH and he's getting some food! Yes, what a relief! You two take it easy!!

Yes, 4 more MF infusions to go and I've calculated the average number of pokes per IV insert and the standard deviation so I can predict how many more pokes to go...The average is 2.125 pokes per IV insert plus or minus 0.834 (not counting significant figures). So, I figure something like, 9 more pokes, plus or minus 1 poke to go.

Beanie--I can't beleive you actually calculated out the average number of pokes and the standard deviation!  I've got a 1 poke rule--don't get it on the first try that's it.  I'm done and outta here!

Waheni--Thank God your DH is ok!  You must feel so relieved.  Now that you know the problems are major it will be so much easier to deal with the sorting out that needs to be done with the cardiologist.

Well, my sunporch now has 3 tomato plants hanging up in it, along with 3 bunches of thyme, 3 bunches of greek oregano, 3 small bunches of lavender, 1 bunch of lavender flowers, and a whole collection of odd tomatoes on the window sills.  It smells wonderful out there, but I am sooo tired.  I can't beleive how wiped out pulling up plants, cutting plants, runnign up and down the stairs to the sunporch from the yard, carting the 'leftovers' to the compost pile, trimming and tying up herb bunches has made me.  Not to mention the back ache, what's up with that????  I'm going to need a nap before I have enough energy to fix supper!

Wow NM, you got alot accomplished.  I need to get out and cover our tomatoe plants.  They are saying low temps tonight.  All that work you did certainly is cause for back pain!  Bean, were Nurse Ratchets "pokes" you witnessed a while back considered an outlier in your statistical sample data set and thrown out.  There are so many variables to be considered!  LOL!  I need a drink.  I'll be at the pool!  HD

Beanie - too funny! That is how my mind works too. Do you do number games with license plates while driving? When I was in labor, I was trying to calculate the probability that I would deliver the baby before lunch, using my dilation progress over the past few hours. The nurse noticed that I was verbalizing the math and told me that labor doesn't work that way. In fact, I wouldn't have been able to do basic math while in labor.

Wow, NM. I have garden envy. Between the gophers tunneling underneath and the wiener dog digging, my garden looks like a minefield. Fortunately I can buy fresh organic produce at a farmer's market almost anyday of the week but I really miss the fresh herbs. The only plants they haven't killed are the rosemary "bush", oregano, and mint. Nothing kills mint but since the wiener dog obviously has been in my garden I hesitate to eat anything. Looking forward to getting some raised beds in there next year. Wondering if I could find a place to hang a tomato plant - hmm... are yours trailing, like cherry tomato vines or are they hanging because you harvested them "on the vine"?

Such funny posts! Just got home from the hospital with DH,so now I FINALLY get to have a drink...joining you by the pool HD! My DH is sleeping, so I think I can be MIA from nursing duties for a bit...whew! Two entire days at the hospital was NOT fun! But happy to have had good results. Might need some change in meds to take care of the tachycardia. Drink on!

Wahine--hope DH gets to go home this evening--after his dinner!    Hope all goes well and DH is wanting a Tunica trip in a couple of days!!!

10-10-10 was a good day....I should have bought a lottery ticket but I did have a dollar scratch off that won $20, so that was nice!   Made room reservs at our Indian casino to celebrate dH upcoming birthday.   Room is free and have dinner comps--cheap birthday present--NOT!!!  LOL--it will be fun!

We're getting ready to implement one of dH's hairbrained bright ideas-- I may be looking for a divorce attny before it is all over!   We have a storage unit that is cram packed with mostly junk;  Have just lots of useless crap all over the place.....so, dH is having a dumpster delivered to the driveway.   He has hired the guy who does our yard work and has a big truck to come on Wed.   The plan is to move everything out of the storage unit to our garage and then we will start going through and throwing things away!   We will then proceed room by room and closet by closet through the house.   I can just imagine the conversations we'll be having!!!!   I am sooooo bad about throwing things away--what if I will need this some day; sentimental attachments......one thing I've thought to maybe do is take pictures of some of the things that really do need to just be gone (like the baby blanket my mom brought me home from the hospital in 63 yrs ago--it is old and of no use any more....and create some kind of memory photo album.    Suggestions most welcome!!!!

At any rate, suspect I will be needing frequent visits to the HTL and LOTS of dog beers!!!   Til the dumpster shows up, I'll be out at the pool!

Lori--safe travels; hope you can check in while gone.   Did I read right--Beans is through with round one and moving into round two?????  And, Kitty is starting to grow some fuzz?????   Looking forward to hearing about what color/kind/curls??? hair you get--everyone has such different results when the hair grows back!!!

heading out to the pool just now--Jocks tells me the ice is melting in my bucket!!!  Gotta down those dog beers before they get warm!!!!

    BIG HUGGGSSSSSS to ALL !!!!

Junie, you know my DH tooooo well....lol. He DID want to wait for dinner, but thought it might be delayed. Wouldn't you know that after I left for the "mile long" walk to the parking garage, they served him dinner! HE didn't even touch it though, since he knew I would be waiting to pick him up.

WOW>.....good luck with the stuff coming to your house.....not fun to have to get rid of things. But I think that is a great idea to take pics of the things you want to remember...they mention that on the "clean house" type of shows. We will be here to drink with you at the end of each day that you are having to tackle that big task!

Kitty, so glad the camping trip went well, except for the tire mishap. Nice to get away!

    Junie...

Having helped two friends move, I am with your DH. It's amazing how little of the stuff you miss in the end. The height of folly is to rent space to store stuff you will never want to use again.

Wahine....I would be drinking too. So glad all is OK.

Beans....I would be calculation std dev too. That is why a port was a good thing. Once per infusion...all 12 of them plus all blood draws. I did tell Main Squeeze that I wasn't going to do O's either.

Rain coats are good, and one of the best purchases last year was a water resistant cycling jacket. Still using it, but has lost a bit of its luster. I also pay to get my bicycle tuned, and consider it an investment in my health, perhaps my life (as they put on new brake pads too).

Today was the most glorious day, and still enjoying the major sunshine and view of the Olympic Mountains. Was so wonderful to cycle in sunshine. Did 30 miles so feel that my body is now "tuned" too.

Not much time for a post. I am still NOT packed. Leaving tomorrow and today I need to get some pictures of our soakerhose in action. A magizine contacted us, and is doing a story on our product and MrSoakerHose. Can't pass that opportunity up! Magazine ads cost a fortune, I can't imagine what a story would cost..........but this is costing us NOTHING!

Kathy, so so glad DH is ok. Astorm wishing you the best as well, and hoping it is just scar tissue. Also laughing at yours and Beans posts. Beans, yours gave my brain a workout! Junie, I think the pics are a great idea. I try to keep ontop of things and not hoard. HD, already talked with you on your PS visit, NM, gonna call you Farmer NM! Claire glad you're tuned.

Lori, I must be a bad influence on you, since I always pack at the last minute! End up taking too much that way, but when you are busy, you do the best you can. Hope you have a GR8 trip!!! And that is amazing about the magazine article. I hope you can get several good pictures today! Try to keep in touch with us while you are away.

AStorm, I hope everything will be A-OK!

HD, How did the appt go? Hope everything is fine!

Lots to catch up on, but nice to be home. It was sooooo nice having a regular happy hour last night, but today I will try to stock up on more Moscato wine. I really love it! Have lots of reds here and since DH does not drink it much anymore, we need to PARTAY to use it up...maybe along with all the Pinot that your friend has, Claire. (At least I think it was your friend....too many posts to go back and check!). Hope everyone will have a good day today. We expect rain here, which is very needed. Till Pau Hana time......BARMEN!

OOPS, I was postng the same time as you, NM! Thanks for sharing the pic....I can't see it too well on this small netbook, so will look at it later and hope to be able to see more. When I was taking Master Gardener classes (nope...the info DID NOT stay with me...LOL), a girl had a t-shirt on that cracked me up...said "You can lead a whore-to-culture, but you can't make her think"...play on words, but since you are into horticulture, thought you might enjoy it! And this was prob 25 yrs ago, but stayed with me.Ciao!
