how about drinking?

Dang wahine, so sorry it crashed your netbook...I don't know why...I tried these again and they work on my notebook, no crash...I guess I should add try link at your own risk...anyway, it was such a funny skit with Patrick's perfect, in shape dancing bod and Chris Farley's quite overweight bod in competition for becoming a Chippendale dancer.
I will say the same thing you say: I hope everyone will enjoy a beautiful turkey day with their loved ones and that we find a dang cure for BC...I'm so glad to have found all of you and thank you for being a part of my life!!!
Gobble, gobble!! ~Beanie

Hi Breast friends,
So it looks like time to get all mushy and stuff. I am sober at the moment but again waiting on Pants to bring me something good to drink.
Chrissy B, you are funny, I know you will find me. I promise to TRY to behave, key word is try. I am a bit of a slutty thing, or at least I try to be now that I have this great rack!! haha!
Hi Donna, I just found you crazy beotches this week and have been welcomed with open arms. You are right, this is the best lounge on the planet.
I would like to also wish you and yours a Very Happy BLESSED Thanksgiving tomorrow. I am going to Ocean City NJ to have dinner with my sisters and their families. There will be lots and lots of wine, JD and anything you could imagine. My brother in law is a great bartender, almost as good as the boys here.
See you all a bit later. I have to skip the massage today and take care of my family here (I would rather hang with all of you though).
Kathy, I hope you feel bettter, I can relate to not feeling good. I had a terrible night last night and was in so much pain and could not sleep. I guess I left the bar too early, I will try to hang out all night and get sloppy drunk. I hope one of you find ladies will keep an eye on me, you will recognize me when you see me, I am the one slurring my words and smokiing up the house with just about everything. Oh, I made brownies with that special ingredient, they are in the oven now. I still can not get pictures up here, it was a one day success story for me.
Beans, I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Patrick SNL skit, I had seen it before many years ago. May he Rest in Peace. Also loved the yodeling, I have wanted to do that forever and actually tried learning online a few years ago. Here me now <yodel yodel ee heee heee>, yikes I scared my damn self.
Keep praying all, for The Cure, it is out there. I pray that my future grandbabies ask me "what was cancer and what was it like when people had it".
Peace n lots of love to all my breast friends, keep the faith!
xoxo

Hi Donna (aka CasinoGirl)! Soooooo glad you didn't forget about us here...we have been missing you! Did you ever see the video that Lori made of our HTL.....you are in it too! Drive safe tomorrow, and don't be a stranger here, or we might have to take your name off that barstool....just kidding!
Beans, it could very well have been too much for my little netbook! If no one else has probs with it, I will go on the "big pants" puter upstairs and look at it there.
Sorry you had trouble sleeping Dorothy! I am feeling much better....toe is still sore and purple, so still wearing flipflops, but back got better as the day went on.
Looks like some of us will be putting a lot of miles on the cars tomorrow! We just have to go about 15 miles...but am taking most of the meal, so will take awhile to get all the food packed up.
TIme for a drinkie-poo!

I loved Chris Farley on SNL. Yes, I am old enough to remember. Very funny man. Thanks for sharing Beans. Dorothy...don't worry, everyone has each others back here it seems. They haven't kicked me yet and I have deserved it more than once.
Edited to add: I hit enter and somehow was entered before done. Now, I guess I am done though. May your gravy nor your thighs be lumpy! (or your breasts) HD0 -
I am rejoining you ladies for a quick drink before I go chop up squash for the soup I am making. Succumbed yesterday and bought the squash, but have to use them immediately. I love squash soup though, and actually making for myself.
I will add some heavy cream so as not to make it too virtuous.
Still chilly and icy here, but should be melted enough for me to get to the Thanksgiving Dinner festivities tomorrow.
Anyway, Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Hello Ladies,That's a great SNL sketch - I was and remain crazy for Swayze . We have already celebrated Thanksgiving up here in the great white North, but I will gladly do it all over with you again tomorrow! Who's up for a Cherry Gobbler to go with some mixed nuts (everyone in the HTL) and Claire's yummy squash soup?
All the best to you and your families.
Cherry Gobbler recipe
2 oz Wild Turkey® bourbon whiskey
3/4 oz grenadine syrup
3 1/2 oz Mello Yello® citrus soda
Pour the Wild Turkey bourbon whiskey and grenadine into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Add Mello Yellow, and serve.0 -

Dang you JUNIE, you and your "S" word! Got an inch last night. Ok, I am done, it doesn't have to "S" anymore as far as I'm concerned! But I doubt that will happen!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my BREAST FRIENDS here...even those turkeys!
Grabbing me a wild one and a royal one and on to cleaning! Yes I said cleaning. We have been gone so much, my house is in shambles. Meatloaf for us today, DH doesn't do turkey or ham. I wonder if I can shape it into a turkey!
Hope everyone has a thankful day! Much love to all. Donna, you stay away toooooooo long girl!
P.S. I don't know if Jaybird will be on, but she had an exciting scary moment. Leanardo DiCaprio was on her flight, but that flight also had a mid air engine failure. She is home safe and sound now.

Here is cute little greeting I'd like to share with my friends here. Have a wondeful day, my dear sisters. Let's keep fighting the good fight. Peace and lots of love!!!

Snowing here this AM. Slept in as got a call from a neighbor last night waking me out of a deep sleep. She was stuck on Bainbridge Island. Worse still, she had blocked everyone else at the party. So I hauled myself out of bed and walked her dog.
Supposed to rain later so no group ride. I change my sports when snow and ice, but unfortunately not quite enough snow for a ski. Would have done that otherwise. Will try to get in a long walk.
Hoping not icy as dinner is scheduled for on the othe side of one of the famous Seattle hills. I may call Martha for best route to her place. It may be the #8 bus!!!
I made curried squash soup for myself last night and cranberry-satsuma sauce for the dinner. Will bring some lovely pinot. Should be fun.
I think a walk now...... but still enjoying my AM tea. Happy Thanksgivng. - Claire

Same to you Claire - it is snowing quite a bit right now and so lovely. We also are headed to two of the famous hills, one for dinner (QA), the other for a drink (Capitol). A lovely pinot - I can hardly wait
The cranberry satsuma sounds yummy, not a recipe I have tried before. I just finished the cranberry/bluebery pie from Bon Appetit this month and a Kentucky Bourbon Derby Pie.
No slipping on your walk...

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all at the HTL...Yesterday started out well, but some things accumulated and I ended the day in meltdown, thank God for DH who pulled me out of it...we ended up watching funny stuff on the Internet and laughing and I found this:
ha ha ha ha ha!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
yUMMY sTUFF ON THE tABLE tODAY!!! tHANKS FOR sHARING!!!

I made up the cranberry-satsuma sauce recipe when that is what I had in the house one Thanksgiving. The ratio is about 4 satsumas to one package fresh cranberries. I use turbinado sugar or Sugar in the Raw, as I think makes a nicer sauce. Then a couple of tablespoons water to keep everything from sticking to the pot.
First thing you do is peel the satsumas (or clementines) and slice crosswise so you get half sections and find any seeds. Put a couple of tbsp water in the bottom of a saucepan and dump in cranberries and satsumas. I add about 3/4 cup of turbinado sugar, but you can vary this. Simmer until the berries pop. Taste and adjust sugar if needed.
I got a major laugh when I saw instructions for "improving" canned sauce. Much easier to make the above recipe.
This would be wonderful with roast pork too.
I am headed for the same hills. Queen Anne for my walk, and dinner is on the other side of Capitol Hill. Hope John Street is de-iced by now. I am wearing my lug-soled hiking boots for my walk. Hope to do about three miles as seriously under-exercised.
Happy Thanksgiving!

My son lives on north Capitol Hill but sent me a video of John St from Tuesday....it should be better by now but it was really something.
I may try the cranberry/satsuma recipe with pork during the holidays as it sounds yummy and simple.
Beans - sorry to hear about your meltdown, I decided to do mine early this morning. Not sure what that is about.....perhaps lack of alcohol? No, I didn;t think so...

Raincitygirl - sorry to hear about your meltdown this morning...I do think it's a lack of vodka...I sure hope you feel better after some of lullebelle's Cherry Gobbler Cocktail and after the Royal Turkey NM posted...these are getting me back on my feet! Now Claire sounds like a great cook but I'm just hoping MickyD's is open tonight for dinner - j/k - we are cooking at home...

Cute pics, everyone! Funny ones, Beans, but really love the turkey pic....yummmmm! We're taking an 8 lb turkey breast to DD's to go along with her ham, also made some cranberry sauce today and some cookies, and will take cheescake, relishes and a hot veg to go along with what she is making. She invited a couple she saw on a hike this am (she knows them), to join us, as they were going to be alone. Wish you could join us Beans...might be better than MickeyD's! Yes, I did see your j/k, and that you were going to cook....lol.
Lori, Thanks for telling us about jaybird's close call! Wonder if she got to chat with Leonardo?
Hope all you chica's are having a great day,and that the only meltdowns left, are for the snow! Happy Turkey Day! Heading out soon ourselves, but no snow or ice....actually in 70's today! Got a tv ordered for my parents at BestBuy's black friday price....yay....no standing out in the 30 degrees tonight will be, plus rain. Tomorrows high will be 40's and rainy too. Be safe driving today!
Hugs, Kathy

Does a nice red reduce the chance of contracting Aunt Sally (salmonela)? I should be ok if so! Beans....you have a foil bikini? HD
0 -
HD - Good idea, pilgrim, to make it foil to foil anything bad like Aunt Sally, a nice red will help too! Gobble, gobble...BTW what are you kooking or are you headed to MickyD's with me (you really need a good red to battle that sally) and then to the poker table??? I think I'll go there for a while and grap a DOTD. BS
Edited to agree with HD may you have lumpy taters and no lumpy breasts!!

I am a traditional fool. So, I will not be going to MickyD's. It is too cold and snowy out. We are having a black tie affair here. I am in my best black sweats and hoody....and we have turkey beggin' to get out of the heat. Splurged and bought the the free range gobbler and I still unfortunately know what he has been eating. Better than the CAFO ones you can get for $7 though. I still need to drink along with it. I could have bought 6 - $5 scratch tickets for what we paid for this free range (garbage eating) bird. Meet you at the casino in 15! HD

Hope all are having a better day than I am!! Our turkey dinner has ended up being a tray for me and a guest tray for DH at local hospital. It was actually edible....I ended up at the emergency room early this morning with another horrid reaction from the new antibiotic. Noticed last night that I was having trouble walking and discovered that my feet had swelled up hugely--they looked like sausages ready to burst......scared the bejeezus out of me. So, umpteen tests later am back home. Still feel like crap from the sinus issue but not trying any more antibiotics for now!! Dr. changed some of my other medications. Of slight concern was a small nodule on lung that showed up on the chest x-ray. Dr.said most likely it is an infection common in this area of the country and is of no concern. BUT bcause of my BC, he wants me to see about having it biopsied to be sure......always something!!!!
So wanting to join you all for your lovely dinners and wines......but heading for my hammock by the pool. Will sneak by the buffet for a few turkey day goodies. Might try to sneak in a dog beer--maybe it will relax me; I surely could use a nap just now!
We had a huge drop in temperature and it was icing as we drove home. All the pine trees were white with ice. No S yet, Lori!! Supposed to warm up tomorrow so shouldn't have any problems with roads.
Big turkey day huggssss to all! BOTOMZ UP!!!!!
Big turkey hugs to ALL

Junie - I had the same thing happen a few months ago - sinus infection, levaquin, trip to ER, swollen extremities, some dizziness and a little nausea. Apparently these are side effects of that drug. Nice, just what we need.
Hope your day from this point goes well...
0 -
Well, crap and s*** junie - you sound like you're having an awful time, I'm so sorry to hear of antiB reaction...that's just awful and the lung thing, probably nuthin but you are probably freakin anyway. The hammock at the pool sounds perfect, I'll pitch in an buy you 6 scratch off's and a DOTD! Hope you feel better soon...maybe HD has some left over snot rags??? Hugs to you!!
HD - im in blue sweats so it's a black n blue holiday - yippee! Enjoy that free range fred!!
raincitygirl - I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate antiB's.
I gotta get cooking...I'm not really going to MickyD's tempting as it may be - ha ha, I'm making steaks n mashed potatos, gravy, P's, german red cabbage, dinner rolls, bread pudding and fudge brownies...I hear a dinner bell...is it happy hour yet??? I'm drinking Chateau St Michelle Gewertztraminer - Claire will probably gag, but it's a sweet white wine and lately I'm all about sweets...

Need to get moving and get up Capitol Hill to dinner. Anyway, I am not shocked Beans at the Gewurtz as something I would have wanted a year ago. Actually, I love it, but normally with pork dishes.
Back from my walk and hot bath. Feel like a new woman. Will write more later. So glad you got home safe Junie.
We call the visitors Sam 'n Ella....and no, I don't care to see them. Or any of the other unwelcome guests.
Which means I need to make sure I drink enough wine to keep them away. - Claire

...heading for Beans house for dinner--and to pick up my scratch offs!!! We had bought a small turkey breast to fix a down-sized dinner. Decided to go ahead and cook it after we got home from the hospital. OMG! Not sure what we bought--DH says it looks like an exploded hemmroid! (sp)------but it tastes wonderful......will portion it out and freeze to use in soups later.
Drinks are on me tonight------Jocks and Pants, get busy!!!!

OMG junie,I am SO sorry to hear about what happened. Geez, does it ever end? Glad you were able to get to ER and have that taken care of. Wondering what infection is common in your part of the country (lung nodule)???? And sounds like a hard thing to biopsy....when will that be done? And you get home from the hospital feeling like $hit, but STILL post that cute turkey and nice wishes for Thanksgiving. What a trooper! Oh I wish your day had gone much, much better than that. WHEN in the world did that infection start anyway? Seems like an awful long time....only good thing was that steroid shot way back. I think we need to get snow tires (or skis) on our bus and pick everyone up and just camp out at your place till you get well. How 'bout it girls?
Beans, would love to joiin you for some of that sweet wine! I had wine early since we were going to a "dry house" for Thanksgiving....lol. My DD invited another young couple, but my gawd that gal talked non-stop. We learned SO MUCH about them, but they didn't ask anything about us, or even let anyone get a word in. So it was B-O-R-I-N-G....ended up being a weird holiday. Was glad to leave!
Jaybird, my DH was talking about that flight you were on w/ the engine failure....and was glad that Lori let us know you were okay! Anxious to hear all about it....so come on and pull up a barstool or jump in a hammock by the pool, and let us in on all that excitement. SO glad it turned out ok!
Thinking of a nightcap.....maybe an irish coffee, but with decaf (getting older sucks!)....and lots of whipped cream....yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
