Hi Chrissy! I saved a lounge chair for you, right next to me! Thank goodness I don't have to eat ALL this food, lol. Lots of empty lounge chairs and hammocks and pool floats for all. (Think we can convince the Wenches or Tattie Tenders to come and clean our houses while we stuff our faces? Nah...didn't thinkso!). Chow! I mean Ciao!

Stanzie - Miss Fit - LOL!!! Yes, I've been away on my pink elephant trip...should I tell what else I saw?? Oye vey, it's been a week. Glad you are almost done with meds and hope you feel better soon. Yeah, I hate packing too, good luck with that.

HD - Miss will a be by the fountain - ha ha ha ! I do hope you're feeling better, you do look bright eyed again! BTW - I like whiners and winers - I had a meltdown Thurrrrrrrs but better now. Most food still tastes like wiener-dooo and wine is okay but I just can only handle a sip - make bean grumpy & pussed. Now I'm eating salmonellos for breakfast and dinner. Thank God vodka still tasteeees good. Specially that bacon kind.

Wahine - Big hugs to you! I think the casino sounds perfect today! My one good arm is going for the one arm bandits! Sorry about the nwolb daed teksag on da car - I hate spending $ on that, would rather buy new clothes and jewelry, new set of genes, boobs, arm, etc. My poor old dear is nearing 250K miles on the orig engine. It's Toyota 1993 4-runner - I love my car and have told DH to do everything to keep her going. She's going to need a new paint job and yretslohpu. At the buffet is it okay if I just eat cookies and peanut butter cups? Oh, and a few gallons of Irish Coffee!!! Yippee!!

AStorm - I'm relieved there will be cake at the WD party!!

Junie - Hooray for you!!! Dancing with Mr. NED!!!! Whew!!!!!! Brie sounds gross, but I'll slug down some dog beers with ya!

DorothyK - Oh how cute, you have WDs too, they are so adorable - nice photo! Hope you're doing okay and not too pussed!

MrsNice - Good luck with rads! I'm down to 10 of 33. I just used aloe vera gel until this last week, got some dry skin so now aquaphore at night - feels great but very greasy! Also am using 1% OTC hydrocotizone cream on itchy spots and Neosporin on an irritated hair follicle. Also I had a burst of energy last night and over did housecleaning. A tiny spot on my AXLD surg from last May looked like it started to open - yikes!! So Neosporin there and no more using that arm till I'm done! Rads doesn't hurt. Wishing you allllllll the yrev tseb!!!

    Hi liz19!

Claire - Love the ski pic - I'm jealous, as I'm soooo grounded in this never ending gray drippy coastal blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Can't wait to see something called "The Sun" again someday. Glad you didn't get lymphedema.

NM- Wow! Styling!! Too Cool! I'm wearing old t-shirts inside out to avoid the seams on my sin-si-tive skin - me is looking way sexxxxy! And to keep aquaphore off my sheets. I'm jealous!!! Wanna look nice again, I sure don't for now. I am happy for you though and love the Lemon Celebration!

Chrissy - glad to see you back!! Love your DH for his efforts!! Plumb pudding ice cream sounds soooo good. Take it easy and have fun with Christmas!

    hot flashes

I'll take all the dog beers, cat beers, Irish Coffes & Lemon Celebrations I can get! cHairs and Bottoms Up or Down! ~ BeAn

YAY Beans is baaaaack!!!! OF COURSE you can just eat p-nut buttah cups and cookies...yummm that sounds good to me too! My old taurus wagon is a '93 also, like your Toyota....but american cars usually don't last as long...and the engine has been rebuilt...so am sad to have to say buh-bye to it soon. I liked it until I got my new (well, it WAS new!) CRV. My truck is a '90 GMC, but still looks and runs great (fingers crossed)....had a new paint job a few yrs ago. I LOVE your Hot Flash button.....might need to try to get one like it...or print it out and wear it....lol! Looks like a sunny day here too....hope to get out and enjoy it, but looks like a lot of inside work for me today, so not so sure about that. SO nice to see you here again!!!

Hoping so Beans about the blue sky.  Went from bright moon to rain last night and now back to blue sky.  You can see it was snowing in the ski picture.

Party last night took forever to get to as Google maps LIED.  One of these exclusive gated communities, and had to ask directions three times from the security guard.  Plus, the streets all had two names....SE 30th Street in small letters, and then another name over that in large letters like Titticum Place.  This lettering was all so ever discreet, so had to drive up to read with high beams.  Then, I got stuck in a traffic tie-up for 45 minutes on the way back.

I will take that whole bottle of champagne now, thank you very much.

Back skiing today, but this time backcountry at Snoqualmie Summit.  You take the chairlift up, and then do a long slow ski down.  If I do my fave route, there is a 3k uphill climb too.  Wonderful exercise.  I will need to get a season pass as a major deal if you ski more than five times.

It's like being on top of the world.  Just glorious in the sunshine.

Right now, I would love some Eggs Benedict to go with that champagne.  Hardly drank anything at the party last night as had to drive both ways.  Probably not a bad thing.  Anyway, will look for my ski duds and get moving.  Want to get out there sooner as opposed to later.

    Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!!

LOL HD! I like it that Beans challenges us, as well as her posts being sooo funny! Yeah, Toyotas are know for longevity...I always had american cars b4 ordering our Honda. The CRV is not as comfy or as smooth riding as our Taurus wagon was (with all the bells & whistles), but seems so dependable, and has only been in for 1 or 2 oil changes in 3.5 yrs! I like it that it TELLS you when it needs service or air in tires, etc. Hooray for Beanglish!

Junie - congrats on your good CT! I don't think I'll ever not be apprehensive of tests again. Sorry I missed the party. Been having technical difficulties and power outages here.

Dorothy - your WDs are so cute! Mine looks like the one in the middle - classic red.

Claire - Picasso AND tarte Belle! I'm jealous. Wine AND flirting! That does it - I'm moving to Seattle so we can hang out.

Oh, HD, I do hope you are feeling better. Just go ahead and stay in the fountain as long as you need it and we'll bring your some cheese and crackers to go with your whine. You're certainly entitled!

I could use some good eggnog and brandy. All we have in my kitchen is soy eggnog and I'm afraid of it. Need to finish my cookie extravaganza so DH can take them to the neighbors before we start nibbling. We've made 6 varieties so far but I need to make the chocolate covered toffe (always make that last as it is the most nibble-able).

Beanie - here is a pic of the bd cake I made for WD's party:

wow, that came out really big! It is made with peanut butter and carrots and no sugar. The frosting is ricotta with shaved carrots.

Claire - Titticum Place????? ha ha ha ha!!!

HD- yeah Toyota 4-Runners!!! (I like the old ones with the bullet proof bullet proof22RE engines). The language is mostly from talking with enihaw. We discussed maybe bus-seltit (sub-titles) needed???

wahine - some of those American cars go forever too. We had an early 90's Ford truck that we had for a long time then sold to a friend and it's still running years later. My bro has an old CRV, I don't know too much about those but they are nice looking. He does a lot of outdoor sports and it's been good for loading all his gear n s***. My mom had a hideous brown Ford LTD Brougham when I was a teen in the 70's - looked something like this only it was new and brown and had 4 doors, what a boat!!!

I don't know...people have been drinking forever, but we have not always had this BC epidemic.   Plus I know many women like my aunt who never touch alcohol and get BC.   I don't buy into the connection.   But I am not a doctor.

YAY Gail....wonderful test score!!!! CONGRATS, you worked hard for that! I know you will do well on the last one too......way to go girl! OMG those cookies sound sooo good, esp the choc covered toffee...yummmmmm! I haven't baked at all this season....prob better that I don't as I would have to eat a lot to make sure they were okay to give out..lol.

I agree Beans, about some American cars, but mostly trucks. My truck is the same age as that one you had..and still going strong. But haven't been as lucky with the cars. But then again I had a Subaru we bought in the showroom, and even though we bought the ext warranty (dumb move...never would do that again!)....when it totally died, they used every excuse in the book not to cover it. I think it was just a lemon, as usually those are good cars. Was talking with a fellow from OZ yesterday and his dad took a hi-level job here, and the main thing he didn't like was that we have no bus/tram/subway system here in our city. So we sure need dependable cars! What a nice cake for Gail!

Claire-I've lived in Maine all my life and never once been on skis, cross-country nor downhill. Always wanted to try, but that was considered a "money" activity, done by the rich or people "from away." Now, I'm not sure my knees would hold up. Or maybe it would be good for my knees? Maybe this winter I'll take advantage of the Learn to Ski Free weekend they have every year. At least then I could say I've tried it once! Sorry your party was so hard to find and traffic was so bad on the way home. I think that earns you a few extra drinks today!

Wahine-I'm here to help with the buffet, I waited until after church so I wouldn't fall asleep during the service. It's not that the sermon is boring, its just that the Pastor is very soft spoken and doesn't use a microphone so I can't hear most of what he's saying and I get bored and when I get bored I get sleepy. . .

Beanie-I wish the people at my rads place had told me about aloe vera. No one said a thing to me about how to take care of my skin until it was all burned, blistered, and seeping, then they told me to put aloe on every day and right before every treatment. It wasn't until months after treatment I realized the tech should have said NOT to put anything on right before rads every day. The Rad doc told me that it was my fault I got so burned up, because I didn't do what I was supposed to. Not sure how I was supposed to know what to do, but there it is. They never gave me anything special to use until the burns were so bad that I had to have silver cream to keep the dressings from sticking and the whole thing started getting infected.

AStorm-glad you're back on line and got power back! I'm with you on the soy thing. I keep reading the research and it doesn't seem to come to a real conclusion one way or the other. The thought of eating or drinking soy scares me, given my high ER+ status. I'm glad it's not an essential food, and I can just not eat it! A friend of mine was using soy to help manage her menopausal symptoms and wound up developing an allergic reaction to it, and wound up in the hospital overnight until her blood pressure stabilized. Between that and it's estrogenic properties, soy is not my friend. Congrats on the good test score! You rock!

Fearless-the bc/alcohol connection is a statistical thing, and one I'm skeptical of, too. Women diagnosed with bc are more likely to be drinkers than non-drinkers, statistically. Of course, in the US, more women are drinkers than non-drinkers, so I'm not sure there's a cause and effect relationship or just a statistical association. I think the same thing applies to obesity and bc, too, especially since the definition of obesity was changed and now the majority of the population is considered obese. . . . Even so, I've already got the beast, so I'm going to continue to enjoy my drinks. In fact, my newest hobby is wine making!

    HI girls,

Not enough time to respond to everything now, will have to get back to it all later.  But wanted to comment on the soy thing.  I asked my onc about it, and he said whatever small amounts happen to be in food is okay, just don't take any soy supplements, or other supplements with black cohosh (which is a popular anti-hot flash herb) in it.  I am highly ER/PR+ (in the 90s on both) so I wanted to know.  I won't order something soy on purpose, but if it's in there I don't need to throw it out.  Just a thought to consider.

Later - off to clean the kitchen so the baking can begin!

Good point, MrsNice.  I don't look for soy in things I usually eat, but I don't take supplements or drink soy milk or eat things with soy in the name.  If I don't know about it I don't worry about it, but if it's in my face, I'll avoid it.  Probably makes me a hypocrite, but then, this whole bc journey isn't very logical anyway!

NM, Got a kick out of your picture! And so sorry to hear about your horrible burns, and how you were not advised properly on what to do. Sheesh! That sure was an ordeal that you shouldn't have had to go through.  I think I will campout at your "drugs on tap" fountain. Just found out my DH's good friend (they used to play poker and go on gambling trips in the good 'ole days, and he was our a/c guy), just passed away last night. It was SO hard telling DH....and now to dry my tears and get ready to go to the visitation. He was my DH's age, too. Puts so many problems and gripes into perspective when someone passes. My troubles look very tiny at the moment.

Thanks for all the laffs and silliness and cameraderie that we have here! It sure helps.

    Luv y'all,

Just out to dangle my toes in the water.  Don't splash me Kathy!  LOL  I wish I had the energy to bake like you Mrs Nice.  For me I think my baking will be Betty Crocked as Junie says.  WB Chrissy.  Nice to see you again.  You done packing Stanzie?  I hope you have a good time.  Still can't remember when you leave.  Way to go on the test AStorm.  You get a gold star for sure!  Pretty little cake for WD.  Lots of weiners around here.  Hi Dorothy.
I forgot how much energy it takes for hair washing and sponge baths, and all that stuff post surgery.  So, I am at the HTL to get pampered now.  Nice NM that you got to shop for smaller clothes.  Makes it a little more fun for sure.  I have been living in sweats for a while.  Am loving the cheese and whine....thanks everyone!  Thanks Bean for clueing me in as to getting my mirror out for your posts.  I was struggling.  I have some brain matter that may have run out into the JP drain. Wouldn't pass a test now if I had a cheat sheet.  See you at the party....we usually have one for something right?  Miss ya Lori!  Claire...ski on!  Watch out for the trees. Downhilled since I was in 5th grade, and then picked up on the telemark when we were older.  Now have given up all of it.  DH knees don't hold him up and I don't think I could handle much either.  Price of downhill skiing is expensive.  I guess just like anything else though.  Oh, hiya Liz...Cheers!  HonkyD

Look who I found in the bar!   He's toasting AStorm's success!   Way to go, AStorm--congratulations!!!!   How long til your next test--and that will be the last one???   We're proud of you!!!

Finally got cards in mail and some decorations out--even hung a wreath on the front door!  Not a lot of stuff but at least I made an effort.   Our weather continues to be great--cold, but even now I have a window open for sme fresh air,  For once, all the nasty is either going north or south of us--keeping my fingrs crossed!  The first Christmas we lived here, we got 43" snow between Christmas Eve and New Year's!!!!

Think I'll go see if Santa will share; maybe he'll bring his bottle out to the pool.   We'd better keep him away from the Percotini fountain after all that booze--he might miss Christmas Eve!

    Super Sunday to ALL!!!!

Hello all. AStorm - Congratulations!!!!! knew you would do fabulous but nice to have that lovely score in hand.

I'm so angry I can barely do anything..... First my "boyfriend" had been complaining since I've been sick and haven't gotten together and I'm leaving on Tuesday - he is supposed to house sit and take care of my cat and fish. Well I rearrange my schedule and the kid's schedule to accomodate him and have been waiting since about 5:00pm well finally called after 7:00pm and he has gone off and out to dinner with friends... never thought to give me call. I have so much to do and was going to run errands but silly me thought that would be rude as I might miss him so I stayed home and got ready to go out to dinner with him. He didn't even think to call. Lovely ... no wondereing if he is actually going to take care of my cat and fish or do I need to cancel the trip? Great!!! He is truly the most thoughtess human being.

Then an old friend called - she does this every year. She has never married no kids and every year she calls to lecture me on what I should and shouldn't give my kids at Christmas. I can usually take it but this year it just hit me. This has been such a totally horrible year that if it makes my children smile and be happy which makes me happy to give them some extra something at Christmas then why should I have to listen to her? I can usually deal with it but everything has been so horrible and stil missing Liesl so horribly I just couldn't listen to her.... I hope I get to go on this trip just to get away somewhere different.... this year I just don't have much fight or happiness left in me.

Sorry I know I shouldn't write and be so down as I'm very blessed and very lucky. But today has just been horrible. Oh, did I mention I almost burned down my house last night? I tried to light a fire but forgot to open the damper - smoke poured in all downstairs - It was so scary and the alarm company kept calling and calling and telling me the alarm would keep going till I could get the smoke out. I finally told them to quit calling so I had a chance to do something to help the situation... It was awful and my eyes still water going downstairs. this new year so needs to be better.... sorry for being so depressing.

Just got out of the tub, as needed a major soak.....

First of all, congrats Astorm!!!  Another one of your list.  Glad it is over, and that you got the results now, as opposed to after the New Year.

Stanzie.....  I prevented a visit from the fire department last night at the party.  Candles in a flower arrangement that no one was watching.  Blew them out just in the nick of time.  I know what you mean about not wanting to hear from people.  I just heard from one of my friends wondering if we can talk tomorrow.  I will do this, but not something I didn't see coming.

X-country isn't that expensive.  Paid about $100 for a season's pass, one fourth of the standard ski passes.  One year, I used it 31 times.  However, I could use some new boots.

I was wondering about my knees and anastrazole.  Interesting, but they didn't bother me one bit.  As opposed to my abs, the back of my arms, my quads, and my butt.  I can't remember when I couldn't snowshoe, and have skied since first grade (we had a school program).  I skied about 11 miles today and got to test out everything really well.  The most glorious conditions, but windy.

Really important is that I got all my balance back that way, and then got a wonderful workout at the end as had cut it short on time and didn't want to do "night skiing".

I got down just in time.  Of course, I wasn't where my car was and the shuttle bus had quit for the day, so talked a good-looking guy into giving me a lift to my car.

Glad to be home tonight.  Will make myself a nice dinner with wine.  And suspect an early night.

Good Morning Loungettes! Nice and chilly this am, so looking for Pants to make me a mean Irish Coffee.....

Stanzie, OMG when it rains it pours, doesn't it? So sorry about all the crap that has been going on, and esp in regards to your *SO*. Or should I add a "B" to the end of that? J/K. Now, now, just because things are soooooo bad, it isn't a good idea to try to burn down your house too! You know, the firemen will come without having to do that....just call them....and they will bring their hunky selves to your house...no worries (as they say in OZ). I think having all those strong, buff, firemen there, with their splendid bods, might cheer you up a bit. Since you are so busy, I will put in an SOS call to them, and they will be at your house in an instant. Hope today goes better for you, that things will fall into place, and you can leave on your trip tomorrow!

Was so sad at the visitation last night, but glad we went. In the South they seem to really rush visitations and funerals. The next of kin have so many hard decisions to make, and to do that asap after they pass,is just too hard. I could hardly get out of bed, as I kept getting sick, the day after I lost my beloved husband, but I HAD to, as I had to go to the funeral home and make all those decisions. In Hawaii, we did it at a much slower pace, and when everyone was ready.

On to happier thoughts....it is already sunny with a beautiful blue sky...and should be warmer here today.....yay! AND Pants just brought me the most beautiful Irish Coffee, with creme de menthe drizzled over the whipped cream, just how I like it. Easy to order more...anyone want to join me? The drinks are on me this morning.....lets get some Christmas Cheer!

Cheerio! ChEARS! Chairs! Hunky Firemen! Jingle Bells!

Wahine-so sorry to hear about your friend's passing over. So hard at any time, but even harder this time of year. It's funny how things are done differently in different regions.  Here in the Northeast, the visitation is the day before the funeral, and the funeral is usually about a week after the death, but the timing is determined by the survivors.

Hunky-do you have anyone helping you with the bathing and such? I had home health services for a while after my recon and the aides who came out and helped me get into the shower were absolute Angels! The first couple of weeks I had all I could do jut to get to the bathroom, let alone actually wash anything, but they helped, and pushed me to do what I could and pointed out how much more I was doing for myself every time, it was such a boost at a time I needed it most! Should I have the Tenders move the P-fountain next to the pool for you???

    Junie-LMAO!!!!!!!!! Great Pic!

Stanzie-sounds like it's time to throw the BF under the life bus, as we say in another thread. Sounds like he's more work than help. Is there anyone else who can look after your house and pets? If you have time to make other arrangements and then call him and tell him to never mind, you don't need him anymore he might get the message. Maybe. I hope you told the "friend" off in good shape when she called. I never married/don't have kids but have many friends who do and I would never, ever try to tell them how to raise their children, or what they should or should not get them for Christmas! What hutzpah! And there is no need to apologize for how you feel. We understand. Yes, this thread is often funny and lighthearted, but we do absolutely understand how you feel! And it's better to get it out than to let it fester, and that's what we're here for. I'm glad that your emergency didn't result in physical damage or any injuries. If the alarm company was so concerned, why didn't they send someone out to help you get the smoke out? Good grief! Glad you told them off!

Claire-where I liver there are a lot of places to cross country ski without buying a pass, but I've heard the clothing, boots, skis, poles, etc all add up to a pretty big bill, and I'm leary of buying all that stuff without knowing if it's something I like doing. Are there places that rent all that stuff for people who just want to try it out? I'll have to look into that.

I know it's egotistical, but I really enjoyed the compliments I got at church yesterday. I was wearing one of the new pair of jeans, and the new blouse, and one of the new pair of boots and felt terrific!

Hmmm.  What would be a good DOTD for today?   Let me think. . . . .

    How about an Apres Ski?

    1 oz Vodka
    1/4 oz Creme de Menthe
    1/2 oz Pernod
    3 oz Lemonade

NM....  The three major things you need are boots, poles, and skis.  They sell "packages" which is the cheapest way to get started.  I would rent first however.  I am sure, living in Maine, that you have enough warm clothing.  You can add other items later.

Yes, there are places that rent.  There are also used sports equipment places and "ski swaps".  Just so wonderful to get out in the winter.

I am sure there are places to ski for free in Central Washington, but the place I go is literally one hour from Seattle (when roads are clear as they were yesterday).

    HD.....hope you are feeling better.

You SHOULD be showing off your weight loss.  I can't imagine what your three sizes too large stuff must have looked like!!!

Not sure about that Apres Ski.   Would want a different flavor combination as Pernod is not on the list of things I like.  Will take the Bailey's "hot chocolate" someone posted a while back.

Not quite as sore as I thought I'd be.  Did I mention that skiing is the world's greatest insomnia cure???

ALMOST ready to start my work day.  Have to keep my mind off those firemen. - Claire

Claire--one of the perks of the HTL is that the Tenders will personalize any drink any way you want!  Also, the DOTD is NEVER mandatory--it's a fun exercise for my brain to figure out what issues are on the forefront of the chatter today, find or create or adapt a drink I find in my searches, and post it.  If you don't like Pernod, then by all means order somenthing you do like!  Not going to hurt my feelings one bit.  It's like "poking" on facebook, just something fun to play at.  Lots of fun to see what other's post for a DOTD, too!  Somedays there are just so many applicable drinks that we end up with more than one DOTD, and REALLY keep the Tenders and Wenches running!

Ok, here is my non-scientific theory on the bc-alcohol connection: it's 2nd-hand smoke. Women who drink have a higher rate of bc than those who don't because we used to hang out in BARS back when everyone smoked. Also, there are probably more smokers among drinking women than non-drinkers. Personally I've never met a smoker who doesn't drink. The more we inhale/enjoy life the greater our risk. But would we have it any other way? I say it's time the tobacco industry spends some of their huge profits on development of a safer product that doesn't harm their own customers and the general public. My mother never drank, ever in her life, nor did she smoke and she had bc. My father was a chain-smoker - he smoked in the house, in the car, in bed - so we were exposed to 2nd-hand smoke constantly until he developed emphysema and heart disease in his 60's and quit. Hope I haven't offended any smokers, but this is just how I see it: I blame the tobacco industry.

NM- that's interesting about the aloe vera. I'm finding that I really need to do my own research as my docs don't tell me everything unless I ask. My friend just finished her rads and says she has gotten more redness and soreness in the past week since she finished than she did when she was still in treatment. As for soy, I've always been a little afraid of it just because I grew up in the Midwest and tofu was just something weird that Californians ate. I tried those SoyJoy bars a few years ago and they were awful. I ate some tofu back when I was a vegetarian but never liked it so I didn't eat a lot of it.

Thanks for all the congrats! My final exam is scheduled for the end of February. They are making significant changes to the exam so I'll have to spend some time learning about the mechanics for that one. There is also a short ethics exam, which I think you have to get 90% on... It's supposed to be easy but I'm a little concerned since the questions on ethics in the exams I have taken have been somewhat cryptic.

Stanzie - we all come here to wine sometimes! I always hated parenting advice from people who aren't parents (or aren't good parents). My SIL used to make a point of spending some "sister" time with me during every visit to tell me what I was doing wrong... her kids are a total mess (I'm talking Lindsay Lohan) but since she was terminally ill I had to sit there and take it. I did try to correct her perceptions a little but figured it just wasn't worth upsetting her and I just felt so fortunate that I would be around to correct any possible mistakes I might make while she would not. Your BF sounds a lot like my DH... we just had another discussion about how he needs to be nice to me. He told me the other day that he is sick of me being "down all the time". Doesn't matter if I just dodged a bullet, I'm missing my parents during the holidays, and I worry about my neighbor who is stage 4 every time I drive past her house or my aging corgi who has trouble walking sometimes, I should just be chipper all the time like he is. The truth is, it IS easier not to think about it sometimes and men are better at that than we are.

I'll take that Apres Ski and raise you a Hot Toddy!

    Hot Toddy

    • 1 oz brandy, whiskey or rum
    • 1 Tbsp honey
    • 1/4 lemon
    • 1 cup hot water
    • 1 tea bag

    Preparation:

Coat the bottom of a mug or an Irish coffee glass with honey.

Add the liquor and the juice of the lemon quarter.

On the side, heat water in a tea kettle and add the tea bag to make hot tea.

Pour the steaming tea into the glass and stir.

Gail, Sorry to hear your DH expects you to be so cheery...thank god our Pants and Jocks can put up with us no matter how moody or down we might be! I sorta have the opposite problem....I like to be optimistic (when possible), but my DH is SUCH a pessimist that he brings me down sometimes. I love to wake up and get my mind geared with happy thoughts as it seems to make my day go better, but DH wakes up grouchy and complains about everything! Don't get me wrong...I  am NOT Miss Merry Sunshine...but with all the $hit that happens everyday, if I can at least *think* some happy thoughts then I can tolerate it more.  He doesn't realize how stressful he makes things, and he thinks he is such a positive guy....sheeesh!!!! (And everyone else thinks so too....lol). Thanks for the extra DOTD.....have gotten to try 3 drinks today....yummmmmmm!

NM, thanks for the nice thoughts! And yummy DOTD, and even yummier firemen!!!  "Lord, hold me back from being tempted to start a fire"....LOL.

Junie, I need you to help me get more into the Christmas spirit! Glad you got up some decorations....I got up just a few, and FINALLY finished the cards today. Still cannot believe it will be Christmas day this week. Hope your weather is still nice.

HD, Do take it easy.......all the surgeries and recovery are so hard on our bodies....give yourself time to heal, 'k? As mentioned above, we can move the percotini fountain as close to you as you need! And maybe get that extra long straw too, so you can get it nonstop......

    Mele Kalikimaka!
