My grandmother died last night. She was comfortable and passed peacefully. Thanks to all for your support.

awww, NM, I am so very sorry to hear that your dear Grandmother passed away. Although you knew it was coming, I am sure that it is still difficult for you. You and your family have my prayers. Sending you hugs and hoping that you think of only happy memories of her. Let's all toast to her, may she Rest in Peace! Cheers!
Chrissy, glad the path report was a good one. Wooo hoooo! Here is hoping that the cramping goes away and you do not need to see the doctor.
Well I have to go and reshedule my onc appointment and get some other things done around here. We are snowed in pretty good but it could have been worse. I will hit you all up a bit later. Blessings to all!
oh, congrats Kitty Kat, wtg!!

NM, my heart goes out to you so much. I know this was expected, but even when I read it I got so sad. How comforting to know she was at peace when she passed. Wish there was something we could do, but do remember we are all here for you. I'm just having coffee right now, but am raising my coffee mug in memory of your sweet Grammy. Come back here when you want to have a drink with us, and we will celebrate her life.
Bless You,
Kathy

Heather - HUGE YAY!!!
Chrissy - Nice ummm... spread! I wanna party with you, gurl!
((NM)) - so sorry. I'm raising my mug with Kathy.
Well, gotta go to freakin work today but I'll be back later...

Wow, all the news this morning, and so different!
Kittycat.....so thrilled you are done. Glad you got to celebrate. I remember how it felt to be finally out of jail.
NM.....what can I say? So very sorry, but also glad the end was peaceful. Also think she most likely had a long, wonderful life. So a time of Thanksgiving although you will certainly miss her terribly.
Chrissy.....thrilled all is well down there. The cramps will get better. Certainly not surprised considering what was done.
I have to get my tail in gear. Client meeting (face-to-face) and I need to be prepared. I'm not, but do have a couple of hours.
Dorothy....happy digging. - Claire

Chrissy, I hope the cramps go away quickly and turn out to be nothing....glad the path report came back good. I have tears right now, as I just saw a video of our beloved Brisbane with that horrendous flooding. We were just there 4 months ago, and it ended up being our favorite city. I cannot believe all that destruction. I know lives have been lost, but seeing the horses trying to swim across unlimited water, and trying to keep their heads above water at rooftops, just got to me. I don't know if the same video will come up with this link, or if they change it often, but this might work here: http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/asia/110112/australia-floods-brisbane-queensland-river-coal
Just scroll down to where the video is.
I know it is hard for you, with what is happening in your country, and I wanted you to know that those of us here are very affected by the tragedy happening "down under". I think tonight the drinks should be to honor NM's Grammy's life, and also to honor those lost in the horrible flooding in Australia right now.

Darn it, today is just a harbinger of bad news. I just called and talked to Junie's DH, and she hasn't improved very much. Still needs our prayers! He thinks they will be there for several more days. Just not healing as quickly as hoped. Can we make sure Pants has filled the FUKITOL fountain? I think we will need it......that and a lot of likker.
0 -
Damn, I just checked in here hoping to see a party happen but am teary-eyes over the news on Junie. What a sad day. I will spend some time in the chapel prior to hitting the fukitol fountain. So much to pray for.
I offer to do a reading to ask God to look after my dear friend Junie and her family and to heal her and keep her pain free. Please God, let her know that she is loved by many including us knuckle-head drunks at the HTL. Please, bring her back to us soon. And please God, also look over our own Mainer and her dear family. on this sad sad day. Help the family feel the fond memories of her dear Grammy and may those precious memories overshadow the sadness of saying goodbye to her. I ask for prayers for the folks in Chrissy's homeland and also prayers for the families affected by the Az. shooting. And finally, prayers for the fighting lady of that shooting who is fighting for her life. Here is hoping that she recovers.
Lord here my prayer.
I will be back to partay later, I think we are celebration Kitty Kat's release from the bc prison. Until then, cheers and lots of love to you all.

Yes, we've had too much sadness. Time to celebrate kittycat's good news! Dorothy, wanna join me in some Seagram's or JD????
0 -
Wahine, sounds good. Let's party!
and BTW, thanks to Chrissy for putting up such a great party this morning, I think that the sad news of today distracted us but those were great pics and pretty pretty food and drinks. Come on all, let's parTAY....tittttties up!!!
Hmmm, think she had one too many!! Cheers!

My grandmother would slap us all silly if she thought we were giving up a chance to party becuase of her! She even made it clear that there was to be no funeral when she died, only a graveside committal service in the spring. So, where's the partay? I could use a mug from the fukitol fountain, and then some good likker, and some yummy hor d'ourves (pronounce hoar d' vours in my world).

The Partay is RIGHT HERE, NM! How sweet of Grammy to want us to party! Yes, Dorothy that really was a nice buffet that Chrissy provided this morning.....I totally forgot, so thanks for reminding us. Chrissy I meant to ask you what one of the foods was....? Here it is:
I couldn't recognize it, and imagine it was something local to OZ. OH and those waiters....oooh lah lah! Oh, BTW Chrissy, I thought the "frog cake" in Adelaide was yummy....have you had that? My cousins are in Adelaide right now, or at least a few days ago, for the tennis matches. I think you aren't tooooo far from Adelaide?
And Dorothy, those bottled drinks sure look yummmmmmmy!!!!!
Partay, Partay, Partay....the HTL is OPEN for partying again!!!!! HD, Lori, Dee, Jaybird, Beans, Stanzie, Gail, etc...............etc............etc.....(so many of us!)......come one, come all and lets celebrate!

Here's hoping our friends in Australia are all ok!

Kathy - Nothing like Seagrams Escape and a few funkitols! And guess what, I know what that delectable treat above is, it is balls, yes, balls, you heard me right. Yeah, chocolate balls, vanilla balls, and half balls too. They do look yummy!
When is Ms. Beans returning, I am missing her and also missing many of you. The boys that Chrissy posted have been at the lounge all day long and I heard they were drinking our beers and feeling good. Let's join them. Come on, HD, come on Stanzie, Claire,Chrissy, Rain, A- storm it is a big bash tonight with the food from this morning, an added dessert tray and balls, yes balls. Come and eat, party and be Mary. Who is Mary anyway? If there any Mary's out there, come join us, we need a Mary.
Here is a toast to NM and Grammy, to all, let's lift our dwinks!!
0 -
Dorothy, Are those the "Schwetty" balls from SNL???? LOL....that was a riot....did you see it? If not, here is the youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXSyzeVWueI. But to me that looks like meat, or maybe a pate that was formed and then cut in half? I would RATHER they were chocolate and vanilla balls like you said. Chrissy, help us here....what the heck are they???? And yes, Dorothy, lets lift our dwinks!!!! We need to get BOMBED tonight!!! Waiters in only black aprons, are you going to take care of our every whim tonight??????
0 -
LMAO Dorothy.....I just finally got that it was a "toast"......you are sooooo funny!
0 -
I HAVE seen the schwetty balls episode on SNL and they show it each Christmas season and it cracks me up everytime. It is one of the Baldwin boys, I think Alex?
I guess my ball thoughts are left over from last night, I still have the hot image of Pant's coming out of that cake. Oh Lord, he is a hunk and to think, he is coming this way now for another round of drinks. Helloooooooo pants! Nice Apron.....
If you don't hear from me, that means I am passed out on the hammock. Ya see, the tenders brought us all pillows knowing there was going to be a grand celebration this evening....my pillow looks all too inviting (hiccup)! I had six fukitols and six dwinks, uhhh I think so anyway. They mix well as long as I am not walking. Cheers and wth, bring me another, pants, make it a double!!!!

Good news, bad news and worse news! No wonder we drink so much.
0 -
Yes, Wahine, it IS a toast and with marmalade too. I thought that NM's Grammy would like that added touch !!
Storm, grab a funkitol or four and grab a stool....or a hammock, your choice. Some of us are on our feet all day and others, like me are on our assses. Pants, bring the girl a dwink, make it a double. Cheers, A-Storm.!!

NM - I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know how hard this time is. That is sweet of her to think of the ones left behind and not wanting too much sadness - she must have had a wonderful life and certainly was very loved so no wonder she doesn't want sadness. Anyway thinking of you!
Kitty Cat - Well it is about time!!!!! Thank goodness and Congratulations!!!! You deserve time to party and to celebrate!!!! I'm so happy for you!
Oh, not good about Junie. I'm sorry things are so hard for her right now - hopefully with all our thoughts and prayers tomorrow will be a much better day with big improvement! Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Chrissy - gosh I'm so sorry about the cramps. Hope it is like the path report - all clear and good news. Also all the stories and the videos are just horrifying in Austraulia. Very scary.
It is still icy here and tonight will be our coldest night. Then we will start to warm up. Some snow was melting and falling on an outdoor light fixture as I was watching something on TV and watching the water drop all of a sudden I noticed it was freezing right in front of my eyes. The little icicicyles ( Oh shoot can't spell) kept getting longer and longer. I have never been able to watch them form! Amazing! Waited too long to get the first mail delivery of the week as the grass covered in snow and ice was just too slippery - wasn't even going to try the pavement. Wow!!!
Now just hoping for no broken pipes!!!!

NM....I hope the memories of your grandmother will bring you comfort
Chrissy...horray for good path results
Kitty...congrats on finishing...thanks for an excuse to party
Junie...sending you ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) wishing you a speedy and full recovery
To those of you in the northeast...stay warm and dry...we are slowly warming up...got to 30 today...a veritable heat wave!!!
Feeling bloated and fat...want a glass of wine, but need to take an extra Nexium and see if that helps....

Swell......been up since 1:30am. Need to leave for Phx at 7am. Hubby has doctor appt. and we have a booth at the Home and Garden Show. So I thought I might as well go ahead post.
Stanzie, I'm with you on the hot flashes. I would love to trade my night time ones for the day ones and visa versa. At night, sometimes they are just night sweats, no flashing. Which was tonight's problem!
Dorothy, where the heck does that contraption go? LOL!
Kathy, the pictures are great. Never would have thought about painting snow! And the cardinal is beautiful. I do miss my Michigan birdies! I have had the Cedar Waxwings that Gail posted. They are beautiful. Their tails look like they were just dipped in bright yellow paint. They would flock to my crab apple trees and you never saw just a couple, it was always a flock of them and they are very quiet birds. Love your sock monkey pics, cute.
Gail, I don't watch much tv and most of what we watch is pre-recorded, so we fast forward through commercials. My "do nothing" time is in the morning with coffee and a a while before bed. But for the most part, always doing something, especially in the summer. Had to chuckle about your occasional bushtit, as I thought you had said something else!!!! Is that your fur baby in your avatar?
HD, I have some shoe boxes you can borrow! And as for drink holders, guess we'll have to see if one of the boys can take care of that. Or just leave your drink at the door!
Kitty and NM I have already addressed but congrats again on being done with treatments Kitty. NM, my deepest sympathies, I know this is a hard time for you.
Oooooo Chrissy, NICE party spread, especially the servers! YUM! Good news on your report "WOOT WOOT". Sorry ‘bout the tummy probs and hope those just go away. And ditto what Kathy said about the floods.
Kathy, thank you for keeping us tuned in on Junie. Always thinking of her and saying lots and lots of prayers for her to heal and git her butt back in here to party with us.
Dorothy, very nice prayer. Thank you and Barmen.....I mean Amen.
Oh ya, party with grammy! Now that's the spirit.
Laughing at you Stanzie and trying to spell icicicyles!
Looks like so much snow and freezing rain hitting lots of our gals here. I hope everyone stays warm and safe and Karen I hope your DH has safe travels and doesn't get stranded anywhere.
Jaybird, where are you?
Hi Tori!
Well, do I dare try to lay down and sleep for an hour? Gonna be a loooooonnnnnnggggg day!
Will check in when I can.........hugs all around.0 -
Awh NM, (((hugs))))) sorry to hear about your Grammy! I'm sure she will be missed.
Well girls, so much happening in Aus at the moment! The floods are very wide spread, not just in Queensland, but in Northern New South Wales as well. To top things off, there is more heavy rain predicted for the East Coast over the next few days. I called my SIL yesterday to check up on the well being of my niece as she lives in East Brisbane at The Gabba. Luckily, the house she lives in is a high set Queenslander and it is on a hill. The water has come very cllose but she has not been inundated. Her husband on the other hand was given an hours notice to evacuate from his work place and it is now underwater. My other SIL was telling me earlier today that she rang a supplier of hers (she has her own business) to see how he was faring and was told that he saved his computers but nothing else and he has no idea when he will be back to trading. It's all so sad.........we have found that there are an awful lot of people with no insurance and they have lost everything. We in South Australia are being warned that we will be affected with run off in between three and five weeks as the excess water finds its way into our river systems. They are even predicting areas of flood at that time here. We in Aus have gone from a ten year drought to masive flooding all in the blink of an eye it seems.
The plate of food that no-one can work out is mini pork pies cut in half and crumbed fish balls......not so hard when you know what they are....lol. Sorry to disapoint the chocolate fans.
Well, I'm at my DD's in the city once again and I see the doc at 9.00am. He insisted he check me out as I think he's thinking infection but I don't have a fever. I guess I'll find out in the morning so it's not much good worrying about it now.
My DD2 told me today that she went for a mamogram, ultrasound and fine needle biopsy earlier in the week and sees her BS on Monday for results. Little monkey, she didn't even tell me that she had found the lump! I don't fear for myself with the BC but I am so afraid that my DD's will get it as they are even higher risk than I was as they have it from me, my aunt, their aunt on their fathers side and their paternal grandmother. I'm am just very glad that they are vigilant.
I do hope Junie starts to improve soon, this has been going on way too long. Junie we love you and need you back at the HTL!!!
Kathy, the frog cakes in South Australia are a tradition here and I remember having them even as a child. The green ones were always my favourite. (you can get either pink or green).
To all the other girls, hope your week is better than mine!
I think I'll just pass by the Fukitol fountain and just grab a few before heading into the lounge to see if there's any food left. Need a snak if I'm going to catch up with everyone! TITZ UP!!!!!
0 -
Wow girls, looks like we need the HTL more than ever! So much happening. Lori,I hope you got some shut-eye b4 your trip! I usually pack late at night (duh!) b4 our trips which means I maybe get an hr of sleep...not a good idea. SO I am hoping you got some sleep, and will have a good turnout at your booth!
Chrissy, OMG that must have freaked you out to hear about your DD's biopsy....I am hoping and praying for good results too! Glad they are both vigilant, but can understand your worry. AND I hope you don't have any infection!!! Let us know when you get the results of that. When we were in Adelaide a year and a half ago, even the convenience stores had the frog cakes! And I actually also had a chocolate (brown) one....since I am a chocoholic that was my favorite! Yummmmmmm. I hate to hear that the flooding is getting so widespread. Will you be able to take precautions beforehand to protect things, in case it does affect you in a few wks? IT sure has hit close to home for you, with your niece's husband, and your SIL's supplier. Besides the loss of lives, the devastation, and the $$$$ it will take to rebuild, this will be quite a setback for Australia. Many prayers being said for your country. And will you keep updating us? We just get bits and pieces on the news here, well prob because I don't tune in to the news-only stations, but would appreciate hearing more from you on it. And please do let us know how your DD's results are.
Thanks everyone for the continued prayers for our junie. I hate that she has been in hospitals for such a long time, but glad that she is in a good one now. I feel she is getting the very best care now, and hoping and praying for a quick healing. Our little chapel at the HTL has been getting a workout!
OK, is this Thrilling Thursday, Thunderous Thursday, Tata Thursday, or/???????? We gotta get back into the party mood and start hearing some happy news around here. Seems like everyone is affected by something bad or sad right now. Think a good partay will turn things around??? Hope so!
Barmen!

Lori - LOL isn't that a funny name for a little bird? DD and I used to bird watch from the kitchen window bench when she was little and when I told her the little gray bird with the funny tuft on its head was a "bushtit" she laughed and everytime I said it for months she laughed again! I found the avatar online but it looks so much like my 12 YO corgi when she was a pup, I couldn't resist. Sadly we did not have digital capability back then and all the "real" photos we took are in inaccessible boxes.
Chrissy - Just said a little prayer for your DD. I sure hope she doesn't get to join us at the lounge. I hear you with the fear for our daughters... my mom had bc but never talked about it so when I was diagnosed my first thought was for my daughters. Throughout my treatment I have been pretty forthcoming with them because I wanted them to see me kick this thing in the butt and then go live my life so that if God forbid one of them gets bc she won't be as scared as I was.
I found these sexy boots to help keep you dry
and I had Pants mix up some of these for us -- this is how we weather a storm in Cali...
San Francisco Hail Storm
Ingredients:
- 3 oz bourbon (Old Crow Reserve)1/2 oz sweet vermouth (Martini & Rossi)1/2 oz Trader Tiki's Don's Mix syrup
Directions:Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into a glass filled with hail.
