    Ok read a bit.

I am so saddened to hear of Shelli's passing. What a beautiful sister she was.

Angel - Reading the joys of reconstruction you are enduring makes me glad I chose not to!

    Nickie - New job?

    Hi Vickie, Christine, Denise

Cheri - Wow you sound great! Working hard and improving so well. You go girl!

Hi to everyone else I'm missing.

Had a quiet day here. Drizzled all day so didn't get any of the needed yard work done. Went to church, helped DS with his chemistry project and watched the Bucs win. No DX for cousin with brain tumor yet. Her abd. CT scan was normal. Waiting for the results of chest CT. She will also have a biopsy of the tumor on the 26th. The family is all freaking out because she redid her will, bought her burial space, and is wrighting instructions about her wishes. Noone wants her to think about death. I keep telling them to let her be. Of course she is thinking about death!!! I'm sure at this point that is about all she thinks about. As usual they don't get it.

    Hugs all,

    Sue

So sorry to hear the beast took another sister.  I don't think I knew her.  Does anyone know where I can find a picture of her?

Odalys - There are a couple of threads about Shelli's passing under the recurance and mets thread. One has a beautiful picture of her and her family.

    Evening all

Had Hayden and Cloe for 26 hours Fri - Sat and I was so beat I couldn't get on here. Plus this damn port is infected AGAIN! I made the call to the On Call Onc and he was kind enough after looking at my files to call in an RX so I would have to go to the ER. So about 11pm I picked it up came home cleaned the darn thing out again and took the antibiotic and pain pills and crashed. If this time doen't work it looks like IV antibiotics may be the next thing they try. I follow up with my Onc and Dr. Hickman on Wed.

I'm kinda glad my SIL came to pick the kids up cause it was hard enough the one night I was suppose to have them for two!

We did make it to the fair, (last day was today) and I did like I promised you I would. I rented a power scooter and stayed in it all day. We were only there about 7 hours. We normally go for 10-14 hours. But everyone was tired and hurting from one thing or the other so we all decided to leave early.

That has givin me time to stop in here and see how you all are doing.

Wild Jan, I'm sorry about your son I hope he will be smart about his leg. If it's in good enough shape to make the run then he will but hope he will make the right choice on that.

Glad you got to meet some of the SD crew.

My sister is trying to talk me into going home for Thanksgiving, but I told her I just can't plan for that right now. Beside I don't think I could afford it and I'm not sure if the airmiles would work during the holiday.

Cheri, I'm glad you are making small changes that will help you move into the norm with your foot. Keep on exercising it!

Charlene, I can't imagine what the fills are like but I hope tha pain eases soon.

Madison, I'm so glad the storms aren't hitting you and sure hope that you'll staff safe through out the season. I'm not sure I could handle living in an area that has the type of storms you get. Earthquakes & Firesare bad enough.

For the new folks that are lurking come on and join us. As Cheri said this is the perfect time to get to know us as it has been slower since BCO made the changes. I'm sure as things settle down again it will speed up.

Starting to get tired and can't remember what I wanted to say, darn that's frustrating! So I'm going to take a quick look around and then I'm going to bed early.

Hugs and prayers and throwing some more logs on the fires

I know I can't remember everything that has been said since the last time I posted DAYS ago---but will take a shot at the stuff my feeble mind does remember.

Deb---sure wish I could afford another trip to Alaska! I absolutely love it there---so beautiful and all of the people we met were so nice. I could actually see myself living there, but only in the summer. Syracuse actually gets more snow than you do so that's not the problem---it's the 24 hour dark that would get me. I'd have to have IV antidepressents by the middle of February! Please give our best to John and the girls and your parents.

Vickie----you are a walking disaster area Girlfriend! Slamming fingers, colds, no food---slow down, you're making ME tired!

Cheri---so glad to hear the leg/ankle continues to improve. It's been a long haul but it sounds like the finish line is in sight.

Angel---last fill, the same for you on the finish line. I have several girlfriends who have had implant recon and they say the swap out makes the whole thing worth while. I had a free tram recon and that takes longer than I expected to get back up to speed too. I guess we just aren't supposed to have boobs again without a little adjida---but now that it's over, it was worth it! Wasn't sure about that at the time though.

Jan---somehow it just doesn't seem reasonable to expect your son to run on an injured leg that requires surgery. Wouldn't it be logical to fix it and then see if he qualifies?

Had the peer mentor training last Wednesday at my oncology practice. So now I have my little name tag, a certificate that says "yup, she's trained", all I need is a mentee. We were a group of 14 and after hearing some of the other stories was impressed with what we represented---an 11 year survivor of "terminal" melanoma, for example. They told us my onc's group practice is the only clinical trial center in the US that isn't affiliated directly with a hospital---no wonder I feel so safe there.

We leave for Wisconsin and Indiana Wednesday and will be gone for about 10 days. I lead such a wild and crazy life---headed for the big city and bright lights of Reedsburg, Wisconsin and Clinton, Indiana. Woo hoo. At least most of the trip will cross Culvers territory. For those of you not in the mid west, Culvers is the home of the butter burger and the best custard you have ever tasted.

And I'm still trying to lose the 10 pounds I gained last Christmas and have to have a blood draw for glucose and cholesterol right after we get back!

Went to the dermatologist last tuesday and had a preCA lesion frozen off of my eyebrow and have to go back to have a funky mole taken off. The full body scan where he draws little circles all over me comes later. The eyebrow thing is kinda weird---it's from sun exposure and I'm the most sun phobic person you ever met. I burn to a crisp and it makes wrinkles.

OK---that's enough about me. Hope all have a good week full of sunshine and flowers.

    Hi everyone!

I just got back from a wonderful, relaxing trip to Europe yesterday evening and have spent most of today sleeping, trying to beat the jet lag. It was wonderful to spend time with my family, and to get away from work and the daily humdrum for a few weeks. As expected, I came back to find lots of work  waiting to be done, so it is going to be a busy week for me.

I go for my 6 monthly mammo and follow-up with surgeon on Friday morning, then at lunch time, I am meeting up with other FL gals who are going to the Moffitt Breast Cancer Education Conference in Tampa on Saturday.  Several will be staying with me overnight on Friday and I am soo looking forward to having a pj party.  Anyone else  interested in coming  over to my house on Friday is very welcome to do so.

Odalys, you mentioned you may be interested - please let me know.

Sue, are you coming over too?

Well, it is impossible to try to catch up on what has been going on in the circle while I was away. So I send prayers to all who are not feeling their best and hugs to everyone else from A-Z.

Good evening Circle. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day. I've sat with my feet down all afternoon after taking the leg resters off my wheelchair. Dang it, my cam boot is getting tight on my foot so I know it's swollen. I may not be able to sit normally with my foot down quite yet. I hate that. I am so tired and I've sat here and yawned all evening wanting to go to bed. I had to stay up though cos I had to infuse. Just a couple more hours and i can go to sleep.

Christine, so nice to see you posting.

Neesie, yep I do have a huge Birthday coming up next month. It's the 23rd and I turn 50 yrs old. OMG. Me. 50.

CY, oh sweetie so darned sorry about your port getting infected again. I'll say prayers that the anitbiotics the dr gave you will take care of it. But now Cheryl, if you have to do IV it's not that bad. This is the second time I've had to do it and the first time was 8 yrs ago and it was a pain the butt. But it's alot different now and much easier and you'll do fine. I think i only have another week or so, but I'm not sure. Once you get used to it you won't have any problems with it. I need to ask my Infusion Nurse how much longer I've got.

Jeannie, have a safe trip and enjoy yourself.

Nice to see more posts here tonight. It'll just take some time.

Boo, so nice to see you here and posting. Hope all is well with you. I haven't talked to you in awhile.

Odalys, where have you been keeping yourself? Haven't seen you in awhile either. You must be busy.

    Bmd, hey how are you?

Choca, hope you enjoyed your trip and sounds like you have a wonderful time with the girls planned.

SoCal, nice to see you. We're old hanger-onners it seems.

Hey to Marsha, Amy, Janny, Jazz, Shirley, Charlene, Iris, Liz, Nicki, Vickie, Gina, Margaret, Brenda, BMD, Carrie, Gus, Sheri, CherylG, Donna, Z, and that's all I can think of.

Wishing you all a peaceful and restful nights sleep.

can someone please tell me where to find the info in Shelliks?

I remember a beautiful photo of her and her family. She is mentioned by name on the very first post of this thread, I think she needs a tribute.

I have been MIA for awhile and am saddened by this news, although I  went back many pages, I only first saw the post from shel.

I just want to say what a beautiful, strong sister we have lost here. Thoughts are with her family, I'd like to send a card, any info?

    Good Morning sweet sisters

Been a very lazy Monday for me, just enjoying the fine spring weather we are having down under at the moment.

Going to see how I go with posting on the bco site again, some of which is a  copy of what I posted at the Hamptons.

Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital and do the stress test, not looking forward to playing around on a treadmill, should have joined in with MB earlier and got a bit fitter. Also hope to find out when I can pick up the CPAP pump and mask.

Christine good to see you back and posting again, to post a picture you need the "Direct Link" code from the tinypic site it should look like this-

    http://i8.tinypic.com/52lxdn4.gif

You then have to click on the icon to the left of the Smile icon, and insert the code in the box that opens.

Christine this is the link to the Photo you were after

    http://community.breastcancer.org/topic/8/conversation/692418

Elaine glad you had a wonderful trip, and welcome home, wishing you all the best for Friday and your conference on Saturday.

Jeannie sounds like you are leading a very busy life at the moment good wishes and enjoy you big trip on Wednesday

CY sorry you are still having problems mate, hope the tide turns in your favour very soon, you so deserve it.

Sue/Boo hope you had a good day yesterday, and you have an enjoyable week

Not game to push my luck and read back any further, would like to let all my sisters from Amy to Z know that I am always keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and wish you only the best of Mondays

Good morning all.  I have this tremendous pain in my upper arms that I can only relate to my recon and muscle spasms in my back.  I think I was up a bit too much last night with my sisters being here when I should have been resting.  Oh well, if the pains not one place it's another!  Maybe that should be my signature line. lol

Odalys .. How is your sister and Mom doing?

Boo Sue .. Although it's not very fun right now I know (hope) my recon will be worth it in the end (kind of like giving birth lol).   How old is your cousin with the brain tumor?  I agree, let her be.  How can she not think about what might be?  So sad.

CY .. So sorry to hear you got another infection!  That must be so frustrating.  Glad to hear you used the power scooter and hope you had fun at the fair with your grandkids!

Jeannie .. My oh my you're busy.  Congrats on getting the mentor cert.  What is a butter burger?

Cheri .. It just may be that you need to prop your leg up still part of the time.  I'm so happy to hear of the progress you are making.  Hope you got some good rest last night.

Elaine .. Welcome back from Europe, glad you had a good time.  The upcoming pj party sounds fun!

BMD .. Glad you had fun at the church fair!

Neesie .. You made muffins!  That's a lot more than I did yesterday!

Hello SoCal, Vickie, Peter, and Christine ...  thinking of everyone from A - Z and hoping all have a wonderful day!

    Love&Hugs,

    Charlene

Doing a fly by, not going to go back and read; will just pick up from here.

Christine, good to see you.  Hope things are going well for you.

Denise, sounds like yesterday was a nice relaxing day.

Brenda/BMD, sounds like the carnival went well.  Where do you live?  I don't like that most people don't have their location shown since the board upgrades....I like knowing where everyone is.

Hi to Boo/Sue.  Hugs and prayers to your cousin.

B445/Cheryl, sorry to hear your port is infected again.  Hope the prescription kicks in.  The fair sounds like it was fun - 7 hours is still a long time - I can't imagine being at my county fair for 7 hours.

Cheri, sounds like your leg is starting to heal.

Jeannie, have a good time on your trip.  Congrats on the mentor.  I tried with ACS and never heard from them.

Going to check the Hamptons.  Everyone from Amy to Z have a good day.

Margaret--I tried the ACS too---they looked at me like they never heard of their own program and my surgeon and onc both had disparaging comments regarding their efficiency (or lack thereof). I'm sure that's why the practice decided to put their own program together---there is certainly a need for it.

Angel---adjida is Italian, not even sure this German girl is spelling it right. It means grief---like tsouris (ok---all Jewish girls tell me I spelled that wrong too!). A butter burger is this to die for freshly ground beef burger---they butter the bun and throw that on the grill too. Diet food, you know. Culvers all have bright blue roofs so SO and I were always on the lookout for blue roofs in the distance---one day went screeching into a parking lot to find ourselves in front of----Midas Muffler.

Peter--good luck with the stress test. I know one of these days somebody is going to slap me with one of those things and not looking forward to it. I'm active but not in any kind of cardio/aerobic kind of way. I guess I mean I'm busy but that doesn't count.

Hey Margaret---where is a pic of you in your wedding finery?

Cheri---keep that foot up at least part of the time.

Cy/Cheryl---I'm so sorry you have to deal with this again. I keep thinking it's time for the fates to cut you some slack. I don't know how on earth you manage to do all of the things you do---7 hours at the fair?!? Seven hours at the New York State Fair would just about do me in---unless I spent half of them sitting in the shade at the Native American Village watching them dance and talking to the ladies doing beadwork.

Everyone have a good day---really have to start doing something about clothing for the trip.

Good morning Circle. Hope everyones day is going alright so far. My Home Infusion Nurse is on her way out this morning to change my bandage and...draw blood. OUCH! Hopefully my dr. has given permission to take it from my port. I have just about had enough of needles being poked and dug around in an arm where I have no veins. Then this afternoon my dr.s office will call with the results if anything needs to be done, like a change in med dosage or my postassium level is low. But my potassium should be up cos I just finished a rx of it last night. I hope I don't forget to ask her how much longer I have left on this 6 week plan I'm on. Of course, it will depend on how I'm doing but it's supposed to just last 6 weeks. Then maybe he'll be able to put me on oral antibiotics instead. I'd love that.

Christine, I can't post a pic here anymore, either. But I haven't messed with it much. If I took the time I know I could figure it out. You can too. In fact, I think on the very first forum, it's the question the mods one, they give instructions.

Charlene, sorry that you're sore today. It is so easy to over do and not realize it at the time but you sure know it later.

Margaret, Jeannie, good to see you posting here.

WildJan, beautiful family pics, your son is handsome.

Jazz, where are you? You were a staunch poster here and now I never see you here....actually I barely see you anywhere. You must be busy.

Hey to Marsha, Janny, Shirley, Amy, Odalys, Sheri, CY, Vickie, Nicki, Gina, CherylG, Gus, Boo, Neesie, Donna, Iris, Brenda, Carrie, Deb, Robin, Jankay, Madison, MB, Suz, Tricia, and everyone else I missed.

When we flew out we told our son that if graduated anytime soon that we would not be able to come back out there for it. He understood and seemed happy that we came out anyway. We had already changed out plane tickets three times since he was first going to graduate in May.  We did watch the graduation going on Friday so know what he will go through. I'm just happy to know that maybe by being there this weekend it helped him pass the run this morning. He asked us to put the pics of him on his MySpace page so he had something to share with his friends. Now back to editing more pics ...Laughing

Just stopping by to see what's happening over here!  I just posted at the Hamptons and think most everyone has been there recently.  Hope I didn't leave out or miss anyones posts.  That's one thing I'm having problems with....remembering where I saw who and what!!  Simple minded on my end of the circle!

Susan:  Where the heck are you???????

Cheri:  Have you talked to Susan???????

WildJan:  I posted to you on the other site..............just a quick congrats to your Son...........you have every right to be proud!

Cheri:  I know you're waiting for the Infusion Nurse to get there and I too hope she draws from the port.  How's the foot?  Maybe you should gradually keep it down...............you know, like an hour down and a half hour up until you get a bit stronger.

Boo:  How is your Cousin doing?  I remember you saying something about a brain tumor..........

Odalys:  How is your Sister doing?  Recovering okay?  And your Mom..haven't heard about her lately.

    Hugs,

    Denise

Home for lunch now so have some time to read back.  Jeannie, have finally gotten the pics, will load some tonight.  I'm really happy with some of them.

Wild/Jan, great news.  I'm so happy your son passed, and his pics are great.  I agree with Cheryl - go back to San Diego.  Virgin and Southwest have some really cheap fares - at least into San Francisco - fly into San Francisco and rent a car if you have to and drive to San Diego.

Cheri, I meant to tell you that your previous post was a great one with the explanation to all the newbies.  I think you need to repaste that every once in awhile until BCO gets it together so that it shows up every few pages.  This is home so I will continue to post here.

It's quiet here today.  I just wanted to say I was looking for Gina's website so I could tell my coworker about this site and Gina's.  My coworker is 32 years old with a toddler and a baby and was just dx Thursday; she came looking for me Friday and I wasn't here to help her but we talked today.  She apparently has two tumors, a 1cm and a 5cm size so will have to have chemo first.  I'll get more details later so can gather info for her.

Ok, back to the Hamptons for a quick trip before I go back to work.

    Wedding pics later!

    Hi Circle,

Just got back from a busy day of showing houses. That really wears me out anymore. No offers to right today though.  I was feeling pretty tired when I started. I think the sugar and margarita I had last night left me feeling kind of hung over today. I can't believe one margarita can have that effect on me now.

Elaine-welcome home. So glad you had a nice vacation.

Charlene-So sorry to hear the bowling balls are aching. Hope the meds helped.

Cheri-I am doing good. Started hanging in the Hamptons myself a bit. Been busy too. How long are you going to have to deal with this infusing stuff?

    Christine-Nice to see you here.

Peter-Hope you pass your stress test. What a thing to have to pass.

Margaret-I am in Vista. North San Diego County about 7 miles inland. I will have to put that back in my profile I guess.

Jeannie-I just noticed you were from Syracuse. I come from Central New York. A town called Apalachin. Most people have never heard of it. It is near Owego.

Wild/Jan-Oh I am so happy for you and your family. How wonderful that your son passed. Great pictures. I love the one of you all together.

Good thoughts and hugs to everyone from A-Z.

    Evening all,

I didn't take notes so I'll see if I can remember anything. LOL

Jan - YIPPPEEEE for your DS!

Angel - I hope the pain is getting better. You know I really did plan to have reconstruction done. I did not have an expander put in at the time of my mastectomy because I wasn't willing to push the surgery date back to arrange for BS and PS to work together. Good thing too since I ended up needing rads even with the mast. Now that treatment is done I just can't stomach the thought of another surgery. I'm just too tired.  My cousin Adele (really DH's cousin) is 53.

CY - Praying for an end to your port problems. Hugs to you.

Cheri - Keep up the good work. You'll be dancing on tables before you know it. Ahh yes a very special birthday.

Peter - Good luck on your stress test.

Margaret - Invite your coworker here, You know we'll help if we can

Elaine - Welcome home. Looking forward to meeting you. I sent you a PM.

Now I know I missed some but without notes that's the best I could do.

Hugs to all from Amy to Z
