TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Good evening Circle. Hope everybody had a good day. My home infusion nurse called me back this afternoon. I'd asked her this morning how much longer I had on IV anitibiotics and she said she'd have to check for me and call me back. I have an appt. friday afternoon with my Infection Control dr. She told me that's actually my last day for infusions but if would depend on how my bloodwork looked and what he had to say. If he let me off them she said she'd meet me over there to remove the needle out of my port. OMG, I'm so nervous I'd love to get finished with this stuff it'll be 6 weeks on friday that I've had to do it twice a day every day. Last time I had to do IV's at home it was 13 weeks worth. I guess that's what makes me nervous cos I had the same dr. 8 yrs ago and after 6 weeks I wasn't well and so he put me on another med for Another 7 weeks. Please say a little prayer that I'm healed enough at least for oral antibiotics. I go back to Iowa next thursday, the 4th and I'm praying hard and working hard for good news. I have PT again in the morning at 9 again. She's teaching me to walk with my cane, like I've never had to learn that before. hahahha But my ankle/foot is really sore. I can do it though.
Neesie, Susan is alright she's working. She called me this afternoon and talked a bit but had to go cos she was at work. I'm sure she is missing everyone, just busy.
Margaret, thanks for your comment on my post. I started posting here that night and it was so empty I just wondered what any new people would think so I thought we should explain. Glad to see you posting.
WildJan, I've already told you what great pics you posted and now Congratulations to your son and I know your family is so relieved.
Z, Wow, you are beautiful. What a great pic.
Hey to Amy, Janny, Charlene, Marsha, Shirley, Iris, Sheri, Gus, Boo, Gina, Nicki, Vickie, Odalys, CY, CherylG, Suz, Tricia, Shokk, Pam, Madison, MB, Christine, Donna, and anyone that I've missed.
If there are any new people out there just reading and afraid to post, this is the perfect time for you to jump in and get to know the few of us and then it'll be easier when the crowd gets big and busy. You'll already have friends here.
Wishing you all a peaceful and restful nights sleep.

Hello cyber family. I've been posting at Gina's because this site has been too slow and I have been pressed for time. The next 6 months are going to be very, very busy at work as we continue to do system conversions and I bring in new staff. This promotion comes in handy as I have a mountain of medical bills.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for mom and sis. They are both feeling better tonight. The doctors are trying to wean mom off of some of her meds in hopes that will make her less groggy.
Sis is recovering but has experienced a lot of pain. The surgeon only gave her Tylenol so I ended up giving her some of my left over pain meds. I know, I know, not a good idea to share meds but when is your sister in pain who cares about the rules and regs. Bless her, she is a tuff cookie and did not want to take anything for pain other than tylenol.
Wow is pouring outside, great for sleeping. I am signing off for the evening. I will try to catch up tomorrow. Wishing everyone a good night and pleasant day tomorrow.
Love and hugs from A to Z0 -

Cheri .. Praying that you are healed enough and can go on antibiotics. Enough already for you too!
CherylnC .. Ditto. Very well said regarding Cheri. She's just awesome.

Hi All
Just wanted to stop in and say hello, and that I'm still alive in case anyone was wondering! LOL
I miss you all and think about you every day. I just haven't had the energy to post in the last few weeks. I'm just having a hard time with being alone, and lonely, which is really so pathetic and stupid when you think about it, but it is what it is. Please know that I will only let myself wallow for so long, and then I will pull myself up by my bootstraps and keep on going.
I've missed tons and tons here, so I'll just send my love to each and every one of you.

Good Morning All!
Lisa: Yuck on all the appointments you have set up. I, too hate that every 6 months routine. Here's hoping all goes well for you! And the smelly creature in your wall............have you figured out who you can call yet?
Nicki: Running out of time cuz she's spending to much time at the Hamptons with the Cabana Boys!! Have a good one, friend!
Charlene: January is not far away....look at it this way........2008 will come and all your surgeries will be over and you will be on your way to a Healthy new You and Year!!
Odalys: Good news to hear family is doing better. And it sure does sound like you are going to be a busy lady!
Margaret: Thanks for the offer on the paint. Only if it isn't a problem to find out the color. I haven't even seen it, yet it sounds just like what I want!!
Cy: You are not a broken record. You are a sweet friend with a lot on her plate who needs to slow down and heal! Take care of that port.
Cheryl: Nice post to Cheri...........she is doing good and has kept her spirits up and continues to give support to all.
Gina: Hey to you! You're suppose to be working...............I take it you work from home................can I ask what you do? I feel like I'm asking everyone that lately! Just curious and looking for myself!
Z: Very nice picture!
Cheri: Hope your Head isn't swollen now with all the compliments flying at ya! LOL.........You know I'm kidding. All that has been said is very true...you have held up much better than I could have. I give you alot of credit for your wit, humor, patience and caring attitude through out your pain!!
Hugs,
Denise

Morning.
Neesie, the paint color is one of those that people say "that's the color I want" when they see it.
CY, broken record - please - you are one inspirational woman. I honestly don't know how you do it all. Make sure you take care of you first.
Charlene, hope you slept well and the pain is not too bad today.
It seems to be more and more quiet on this site as I do believe everyone is staying at Gina's site but I'll still check in daily.
Margaret

SoCalisa>I'm sure you know where the flags pic was taken! He wanted a pic with the flags they put up on the parade grounds but when we finally managed to get over there by them they had already put them away or were in the process of. We couldn't drive our son anywhere on the base as he's not allowed to so had to walk everywhere. We both said one good thing was we were able to visit with our son alot more than we would during his graduation after we saw what they do on Thursdays. We managed to see the Museum, go in the stores and eat lunch before they were turned loose and formed long lines everywhere. It was great having hardly anyone around while we toured the base.
ZAZETTE>love the photo of you!

Good Morning Campers! How is the fine morning finding the circle? Well I hope. Thank you all for the lovely comments regarding my recent photo. This is the photo I chose for the More magazine Willhemina Model Search that I will entering this Saturday approaching. I along with two other co-workers are doing this on a dare and just for kicks. The criteria for entering is simple and it seems like fun. Wish me luck.
I am so glad that the new CG's have found there way here, it's a great place to be, here or the Hamptons. To all my new sisters, welcome and pull up a log, we don't bite, we hug a lot though.
I've been trying to get on here as much as possible, it's hard my schedule has erupted in to full blown BUSY. I'm doing the Living Well After Cancer pt/workout program and I am trying to take full advantage of it, so we (son and I) go nightly, unless I have group. I love it. I did a Latin dance class and just about died, but like a rollercoaster ride, was ready to do it again. I do pilates and yoga and water aerobics LOVE IT!
Last night I went to a speaker symposium and reception for BC survivors and got to talk to the Director of Onco at one of the big hospitals here in Cali and he told me I should not be taking Prozac with Tamox and that in his opinion I qualify for Lupron since I am premenopausal. So today I am going to make a few calls and talk to a few folks about my continued treatment, I am ready to dump it all in the toilet, well except the Trazadone, I like sleeping like normal folk, oh and the Clonidine, no hot flashes, LOL!
I am happy to see most of you beauties doing well and for those of you darlings having struggles, I am keeping you in my thoughts and I am wishing peace to find you every day.
Have a great day CG sisters and Brother Peter!

Good morning dear ladies (and Peter)
Just popping in for a quick hello. I have been posting mostly at gina's site, but have been popping in here too. It sounds like most folks are doing well gettin access to this thread, but I still have trouble. I keep getting kicked off and also keep getting a weird "fatal error" message. Anyway....
Sending hugs to everyone

Hello All - I talked to Jankay today and she wanted me to tell you hello and that she is still in the hospital awaiting a new residence. She is doing well, she sounds like a different person, her voice is strong and clear and that southern belle accent is just fantastic to hear. She feel great she says and she is getting the attention she needs.
I told her we miss her funniness on the boards and that we of course are sending tons of hugs her way. Hopefully she will be back to chat soon.

Good afternoon Circle. Hope everyone is having a nice day. It's started to rain here and Amber & Ethan were going to go watch Jeff play baseball but I don't know if they'll still play or not. Shoot, it may not even be raining where they're going to play.
My PT lady came this morning. OUCH OUCH OUCH!! I don't like using my cane anymore. It hurts my foot big time. First time I've tried using it after this surgery. I CAN do this, I've done it 3 times before this one. It'll hurt at first but I'll get used to it. She'll be back thursday. I asked her if she'd help me learn to go up and down our 3 front porch steps and she said she would. Amber has to work that day and I don't think my dh will be home. Sooo, I am going to drive myself the 30 miles to my dr in my pretty car I never get to drive anymore and I'm going to catch the shuttle after I get there and it'll take me right to the door and my Infection Dr. is real close to the front door. Actually, I could call one of my sisters but I'm kinda looking forward to it. I've been cooped in this house for literally months/years and I want to get there under my own speed. I drove 7 months once with just my left foot so I can dang sure do it again. I intend on practicing a bit before I get out on the open busy highway. I may even be able to use this boot to drive with, I have been known to. hahaha Anyway, it's an adventure so I hope my dr makes my day by telling me no more Infusions.
I am experiencing pain today. That's because my pcp is stupid and gives me a rx for 1 Vicodin 3 x day for pain. Yep. Well, I am a big, tall woman and that's not a drop in the bucket for me....so I take 2 at a time and it at least takes the edge off. So now I'm taking Alieve because my pcp doesn't give 2 spits about me. The results of PT last a long time after the therapist goes home. I don't know how I can gripe about pain when CherylCy is so much worse than me and so is Charlene and probably so many of you out there. Sorry. lol
Cherylnc, believe it or not....I'm at a loss for words and that just doesn't happen. All I can say is Thank YOU. And to all who agreed with her...Thank you, too. I don't do anything special. I post at other places too, but this right here is "Home" to me. It saved me when I didn't think I was ever going to feel better. There is a kind of loyalty that I feel towards this place and to these lovely, wonderful ladies.
Gina, Odalys, Nicki, WildJan, Madison, Charlene, Margaret, Amy, MB and Neesie. Good to see you all posting here again. Some of them were mighty short but...hey...you posted.
CY, sweetie don't you ever worry about whining here cos that's what we're here for....it's a contest to see which one of us can outwhine the other, silly girl. Go ahead, spill your guts. I really am so sorry Cheryl that you're so sick. You are in my prayers.
Colleen, hey great to see you. I do believe I owe you a pair of bootstraps cos I'd worn mine out. I'll send a pair right over to you. lol
Margaret, it is quiet here but I don't think it was as bad as it was right after everyone went to ginas. People are coming back, a few at a time.
Z, funny you should talk about the modeling! It's a coincidence because Amber and I watched this modeling show on TLC sunday and I thought this lady looked like you. Good luck it'll be great fun.
Hey to Marsha, Janny, Charlene, Susan, Gus, Boo, Jeannie, BMD, Carrie, Deese, MB, Jeannie, Vickie, Sheri, Shirley, Karen, Deb, Tracey, Shel, Lini, and anyone I missed.
Wishing you all a nice evening.

Hello Ladies and Peter,
I just posted this over in the Hamptons.
Just popping in quick to say Hi! Not much happening around here. I had a busy weekend with the kids and football. We are happy - both Michigan and Green Bay won. Past couple of days just catching up on work.
Welcome to all the new ladies Carynn, Joeyann and NancyLee (hope I didn't miss anyone - been AWOL for a few days and just read really fast).
Amy - awww - Onyx is adorable.
Charlene - sorry you are in pain again. January will be here before you know it and this all will be over.
Cheri - will be praying that your white count will be down tomorrow. Better to stay on the infusions than risk letting the infection get worse.
Vickie - you should stay home from work tomorrow and take care of yourself -lots of chicken soup and tea with lemon and honey. Feel better!
Z - beautiful picture. Good luck in the model search. Thanks for the update on Jankay.
Madison - your daughter is beautiful.
Biker/Jan - nice pics. Congrats to your son.
Sheri - thank heavens Jacob is home. You must be beyond relieved.
Robin - how are you doing? Hope you saw the doctor. Infections are nothing to fool around with.
Nicki - watched da'Bears game on Sunday night and they were pitiful in the 4th quarter. They should have taken out Grossman and put in Griese. But how bout those Cubs! I am not much of a baseball fan - our Brewers had 1st place all season and now at the end give it up. Funny you mentioned about how Staph smells. My son had strep throat and I could smell it. The doctor thought I was a little nuts when I told him that I could "smell" the strep. I worked in a microbiology lab for many years and bacteria do have distinctive smells. My son did end up having strep. Now when he has a sore throat he asks me to smell it - ewwww... Need to read your article on chemo brain.
MB - I e-mailed recipes to the pinkstock e-mail address. I hope you got them.
SoCal - a dead creature in the attic that you can't get to. Is there anyone you can call to get rid of it. Sounds ewwwwy. I hate when doctor appointment time comes around too.
Denise - what are you going to paint?
DebC - my kids favorite show is Heroes. Not supposed to watch TV on weeknights but I let them watch the premiere yesterday.
Shokk - I had bilaterals without reconstruction only because I am a big chicken and was afraid to be undergoing all that with chemo and rads. Now I am just too lazy to do it. Like Amy, most of the time I couldn't tell you where my prostheses are. Maybe in winter I will wear them more - just to insulate the chest. LOL
Karen - enjoy your two week visit with Leah.
Jenni - sorry your husbands surgery did not go as expected. That omelette made my mouth water!
Margaret - sounds like you had fun in Vegas. Sorry to hear about your coworker. Too much of this darn disease and striking such young women.
Jan - sounds like it could be B9 but I would get the MRI to be sure.
Where are Shirley, Jaz, and Marsha?
I walked in Milwaukee's Race for a Cure on Sunday. They raised close to a million dollars. It was a beautiful day with great weather. The route is along the lake front and it ends with a Pink in the Park party.
We have had two days of really warm weather, today it is starting to cool down a little and rain. Can't believe how fast the leaves are changing color. It was windy earlier today and the leaves were coming down like snow. YIKES! I am so not ready for bare trees and cold weather.
Okay - I have gotta go - Jack wants to use the computer - has to check on his Fantasy Football team. I need to go cook something for dinner.
Hello to Peter, CasinoGirl, Tricia, Susan, Liz, Shel, Iris, CY, Cherryl, Gina, Christine, Boo, Gus, Pam and anyone else my chemo brain can't think of at the moment.
Love and hugs to all,
Suz

O.K. now I have written my post and must copy and paste. Hello to everyone from A - Z.
Z-You look fantastic. Glad you got a second opinion on your meds. It always help to hear from others even if we don't listen. Thanks for the update on JanKay. It is good to know she is feeling better.
SoCal-I once had a dead rat behind my couch. Yuck. It smelled so bad. I was just glad it was dead. Dead animial is the worse smell to get rid of. Once you find it and get it out of the house the smell goes right away. Sorry you are having to deal with that and doctors appts.
Charlene-Still having pain. I am so sorry you have to feel that. Makes me glad I did the tram although that was no picnic. The hangover was temporary. I guess I had more like 2 margaritas. My dh said he did not finish the piture I did.
Nicki-See you at the Hamptons. I will be over later.
Colleen-Hope you feel better soon. Those sad feelings are such a drag.
Well I have to pay bills and then head to the hamptons.
