What a terrific season finale. I loved the outside Christmas lights background, very festive. Loved hearing Chaka Khan and Andy sing and then duet together. Love hearing that Len will return and add a pizzazz that only he can. One of my favorite clips of the night was Paula and Gary as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Julianne looked beautiful, loved her hair and blue dress printed with white stars. Carrie Anne's hair looked fabulous, but way too much chest/cleavage area exposed, didn't care for that. I had to laugh because the gowns Erin wore the last two nights were just too old lady looking.

It says something about Bindi's talent that at her age, she can win. Most of the younger contestants get voted off because they haven't been able to build a fan base yet. Her dancing skills won her the mirror ball. Amazing that she came in with no dance background. No one even minds that this is Derek's sixth win! He's just incredible.

Echoing the good thoughts & adding my own.

    * the contestants (other than the 2 who dropped out) all seemed to really enjoy each other and seemed to be having lots of FUN together. Paula/Gary, the shirtless Carlos & Santa hat gang etc. etc. Really was fun to watch them all.

    * Along with the other songs, I loved Nick's song right before the end & his 'she deserved it' after the winner was announced.

    * I will be happy to see Len again, although I will say that, as overwrought as Julianne gets (leave that to Bruno Smile), I thought the scoring was consistently fair all season, and when they did have a guest judge, it was someone who actually knew something about dance, so I didn't mind the guest judges either.

    * Derek, I have been in the mindset of 'why do they always give him the best dancers, not fair', but now I think it is that he is such a great teacher, that his partners become the best dancers because of him. So, my opinion of him is totally changed.

*Bindi, she has inherited her love of life, adventure, sparkle, showmanship and fun from her dad (and, I imagine, her mom too), and what a delight she was to watch from beginning to end. It will be exciting to see what paths she chooses in life, I expect that we have not heard the last of her.

What great fun! Glad to watch the show with you guys, and mark your calendar for March!

Did you catch that Alek is going on tour? Nice body for sure but he has a voice that I could listen to all day. Hmm Wonder if he sings?

I was very pleased with the outcome. From Day 1 I think it was Bindi's to lose, only a major bobble or devastating injury would do that. I also can't wait to see what she does when she "grows up". DH and I were Steve Irwin fans from very early on and I remember little Bindi.

S o glad Bindi and Der ek won. I call.ed it right on Alek and Nick too. Bindi! was just on another level. She looks and sounds so much older. I always wonder bout the stars and dancers getting so close during all that practice. It must e hard o say goodbye.

But i do think they give Derek good dancers to begin with. Yes he is an awesome teacher, but he needs to get a shopping cart to win to prove he's as good s he thinks. I e an someone like Kate of Kate plus 8. The original shopping cart. LOL Val had tamar this season and she just never on connected with him. I could see how frustrated it made him, and possibly, her feel. I think Val has come close to a lot of wins but just never got the right person.

And I need to say, bindi is a gorgeous young lady with a lot of class. She is not stick thin has women's curves, and with all the dancing, Is probably as thin as she will ever be So she is a great role model for others. Ok I'm done. LOL

    Much love and Happy Thanksgiving

I was surprised to read this!

Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd Are Engaged!

    December 6, 2015 @ 12:59 AM / By Allison Takeda

Ballroom partners for life! Dancing With the Stars lovebirds Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are engaged, he revealed via Twitter on Saturday, Dec. 5.

"She said 'yes,'" the Ukrainian hunk, 35, tweeted from his account, linking to an Instagram photo of the proposal and tagging his new fiancee.

In the pic, Chmerkovskiy kneels before his love on a stage, holding a ring in one hand and a microphone in the other. As a group of dancers -- including Maks' brother Val -- cheers behind them, Murgatroyd tearfully gazes at the ring and clasps her hands over her mouth.

The romantic moment went down at the end of a performance of Swayat the Olympia Theater in Miami, Fla. Sway stars the Chmerkovskiy brothers and Murgatroyd, as well as DWTS pro Tony Dovolani and DWTS alums Meryl Davis and Rumer Willis, who were partnered with Maks and Val, respectively, in their winning seasons.

"I'm in love with you and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life," Chmerkovskiy said, according to an eyewitness. "Will you marry me?"

The Season 18 champ and New Zealand native Murgatroyd, 29, first dated for 10 months in 2012 and 2013. They rekindled their romance earlier this year. In October, they attended the JDRF Promise Ball Gala, where they posed for a selfie on the red carpet.

As a postscript to the season, WE tv has a series called Tamar and Vince and the new season just started, and her cameras are at DWTS following her, holy moly you really get to see the agony of 5 hour rehearsals, there were lots of scenes with Val without his shirt, sighhhhh and apparently her illness was so serious that when she came back from the hospital and danced she could have actually died.

I don't get that channel, but that sounds so interesting, love those behind the scenes glimpses of the action. I definitely don't agree with Tamar's decision to leave the hospital that night, what was she thinking? I think in hindsight, even she's gonna wonder why she did it.

Ruth, I know what you mean about the Meryl/Maks babies! Sigh

Hmmm.....I'm sure that sparks often fly when you are put into such an intense situation (with gorgeous partners, not much clothes, passionate portrayals of emotions through dance etc.).

They should be putting out the new cast pretty soon since it starts at the end of the month.

I actually watched the court proceedings yesterday, poor Erin what a horrible invasion of privacy and then to have to deal with it for ever and ever because it's still out there being viewed and now having to relive it again.

I think there's been a few DWTS romances but this is the first dancer/contestant engagement. I can remember watching when they were flying around on his private plane, ooeeegirl hit the jackpot ThumbsUp

Kym and Robert make a cute couple. Kym has always been one of my favorite professionals. A secretary at the school where I worked always reminds me of Kym, she could be her mother, blonde, big smile and twinkling eyes, but the secretary never watched the show! I'd never heard of Robert before, but my son loves Shark Tank and told me about him.

I'm home sick today & was scrolling around the channels & happened to catch an interview with Robert & Kim on GMA. Very sweet & fluttery. They also introduced the first contestant for this season. Jodie Sweetin, who apparently was the middle sister on Full House & is in the new remake too. She is dancing with Keo and is very bubbly and excited about being on DWS. From the clips, she appears to be a pretty good dancer. So she should be fun to watch. The rest of the cast is revealed March 8.

Hope you get to feeling better, Ruth. I've seen all the episodes of Full House...twice! It was one of the best shows was ever. (I don't have any interest in Fuller House). It'll be interesting to see how Jodie does. She's had a turbulent life since Full House. I'm glad to see her on a more even keel.

Gosh, Ruth, I'm sorry to learn you have pneumonia. Have you ever had it before? How are you feeling today?

I just saw a couple more adds to the season, Ginger Zee who's a meteorologist on GMA...she just had a baby recently, what is she doing on this show already? These women and putting their careers first isn't something I care for Also Micha Barton, don't know her but have heard of her. And Marla Maples, Donald's ex

Hope you can find some good good shows to watch while you recouperate Ruth, do you have Netflix? I also like to check out stuff on YouTube when I have down time, biographies, stuff about the White House, music documentaries, ect. Hope you're on the mend and feeling better soon

No, I've never had pneumonia before. I had a rotten cold (which started Valentine's Day), seemed to be getting better & then WHAM. I will have a lot more sympathy when I hear someone has pneumonia from here on out (plus I will cut back when I have cold & not try to power my way through it......maybe). Yes, I love all the topics you mentioned. Right now, I don't even have enough energy to watch stuff or read. BUT, I did connect the doctor today because the cough medicine he gave me was doing nothing. He prescribed a different cough syrup with codeine, so I had a long, nice drug induced nap this afternoon & I think getting some rest should help me start to bounce back.

Alright, enough about me.I will have to google Ginger & Micha because neither name rings a bell.

    Hi, DWTS Sistahs!!!

Missed the whole last season, maybe the last two or three seasons of DWTS.... long story.

But saw Ginger Zee on the news, talking about being one of the stars and dancing with Val.... and I LOVE her! Gonna take that sweet little baby boy with her, too. She'll be doing LOTS of cross-country flights!

Hope everyone here is doing well...

Gentle hugs to Ruth.... get over that nasty stuff! You probably got Phenergan/Promethazine with Codeine cough syrup... a lifesaver when you have those awful coughing fits, especially at night.

Hoping to stay caught up this time...
