Val, hate the man bun. Mark, too.

    Sweet dance by Ginger.

Doug Flutie, wow, what a sad story about his parents!

    Marla seemed kind of plasticky.

Antonio, talks about all his kids but what about their mom(s)?

    Wow! Loved Paige!

Mischa, why couldn't she dance more like that from the start?

    Wanya, awesome!

    Nyle, incredible!

Agree with Divine's assessment, and also agreed with Bruno about being too busy admiring Von's torso to pay much attention to the dance (with was actually pretty good). I didn't like either Kim or Jodi as much as the judges did.

It seems like they are being more fair in judging this year (ie not scoring people so high right off the bat). Is it just me, or is Len making some of his comments just for the effect?

YESSSSS! I can sleep tonight!!!!! Eeyore is gone!!!! Loopy

    OK - here's what I can remember:

Antonio:  his son is cute, but was distracting to the dance. And I'm not fond of this season's practice of bringing in background dancers to a couples' routine. What are they trying to hide?

Doug:  he dances exactly like a quarterback, waiting with his hands out ready to catch the football. He stares at his partner the entire time he dances, just waiting for her to give him signals. Sad story about his parents, though.

Ginger:  loved her sweet story, but wanted her to be more graceful in her movements.

Jodie:  already knew she was a recovering alcoholic/addict... too bad she was in the bottom 3. Thought she did a good job on her routine.

Kim:  that was - as they say on American Idol - a good song choice for her! Kind of slow, bland, undemanding, yet happy and nostalgic.

Marla:  If she could be sharper in her moves, I do believe she could look like a pro.

Mischa:  OMG!!! I can't believe she b*tched at her partner last week after their trainwreck of a dance: "I was counting on YOU to bring the excitement." Loved his response: "It's been obvious from Day One that you didn't want to be here." And I think the judges were VERY easy on her, especially since all she did was wander around a fake campfire, with a bunch of other people, looking like she was totally drunk or wasted. SOOOO happy she went home! Oh, wait, let me tell you what I REALLY think..... LOL

Nyle:  YAY Peta for standing up to Carrie Ann's moronic and demeaning comments from last week! And BOO to Carrie Ann for her half-assed apology and trying to say she meant something totally different. This guy's a winner!

Paige:  looked great in the ring, wonder if the audience and judges could see through the fence... manbun (GAG) - you could tell Mark was taking it easy, but Paige went for it. Unfortunately, I knew that Len would complain about not having enough recognizable Paso Doble steps.

Von:  unremarkable. Wait, he had his shirt off, right?

Wanye:  loved his intensity, the fact he got his guys together to re-record the song, and danced to every word.

I loved the unusualness of Wanya's song choice. Everything about his routine was so well done and classy. What irritated me was Len complaining a bit about it, but he was all praise for Marla, who I thought looked very stiff.

The man buns always make me think of those huge sumo wrestlers. Val's could not have looked more unkempt and sloppy. Big fashion don't. Get a friggin' haircut, dude.

I agree wth your assessment about Carrie Ann trying to clarify her remarks about Nye. You're also right about Doug's dancing like a football player!

Blessings it's funny you should say that about the Mischa dance I was wondering if I had seen the same thing they saw cause I thought it was awful, poor Artem drew the short straw this round it's usually Keo who pulls it, he drew decent this time.
As to the ring that Paige was in, all the people on the lower floor are usually friends and family, then ticket holders on 2nd and 3rd tier and you look down on the dance floor and quite frankly you have a great view from up above.

Zendaya looked fabulous. Loved her hair. And such a sweet personality.

    Erin's hair, very pretty.

Antonio, nice pizzazz! His best dance.

Too bad there are soooo many commercials in the show!

    Marla, kinda boring.

How is it that Nyle dances better than many men who can hear the music? Such charisma. What a body. Looks great with that long hair! Entertaining routine. Peta, what a celebration of female sexuality.

I do find myself missing Derrick's amazing routines. And his finesse.

Kim-cute routine, lots of energy and she's still so beautiful.

Jodie, I think her hair ages her. A new slightly shorter style would do her wonders.

Von and Witney, lovely Cinderella dance.

Wanya, for a big dude, he moves so well.

    Paige, just love her!

What a super night! Really it was all fun.....

    * Marla-nice but nothing special

    * Antonio-very good. Divine, I agree that it was his best dance yet.

    * Nyle-cute, cute, cute routine & my-oh-my, what a body!

*Doug- IMO he should be off next next.

    * Kim- good dance and it was fun to see how excited she was.

*Jodie- I thought it was a pretty good dance but she doesn't enthral me. Maybe a younger hairdo would help.

*Von- very nice dance and costuming too

    * Ginger- very nice, and very professionally done. I couldn't tell the difference between her and the pros

    * Wayna- he is amazingly light on his feet for his size, a very good dancer

    * Paige- that was a very fun dance. I liked that it showed a different side of her, and it was kind of poignant when she said that she had never had friends outside of wrestling before.

    I
just don’t even check here until we’ve watched the show in California.

    So,
before I start, can I just say that I’m starting to get really fed up with
Bruno’s over-the-top feedback and his forays into slightly, um, naughty territory? Just shut up and give us some feedback, not a pretentiously worded
monologue, or slobbering adoration of shirtless guys. It was funny in the
    beginning. Now it’s old.

    Oh,
yeah, loved Zendaya. Sooo cute, and well-spoken, too.

    I
thought it was a huge production tonight, and normally I’m not too fond of
cartoon characters. I even have clown phobia. But the Disney idea was great,
and we really enjoyed all the extra dance productions with real and animated characters,
and the extravagant sets and props they used in each routine. Sadly, though,
that couldn’t save some of the dances. (Loved the side-by-side of Len and
Grumpy! They really do look alike.)

    ANTONIO– Nice job… he even
kept up with the 4 pro guys in the beginning!

    DOUG– Puh-leeeeze! Train
wreck! Yes, he’s a nice guy. Yes, he tries very hard. And yes, his dancing
sucks. He was a total football star. It’s O.K. to be a bad dancer. Did he get
the mercy vote or what? And did Tom feel SOOO sorry for him having to hear
negative feedback from the judges that he told him in advance he was safe?
    Weird.

    GINGER – thought she did
really well tonight! The backdrop could have been a scene from Les Miserables….  Very theatrical!

JODIE – Very sweet girl, but
    something is just…. missing.

    KIM – Sometimes Tootie plays
it safe. But she is radiant and funny, and her dance routines, while not
perfectly executed or too demanding, are always entertaining. She always looks
like she is having fun out there. Loved her – what did they call it? Dolphin
landing? - when she jumped up and landed on the judges desk.

    MARLA – She
always seemed beautiful, but anesthetized on the dance floor. There was
something about her that reminded me of Priscilla Presley a few years back. But
she was a sweet and kind person, sorry to see her go before Doug.

NYLE – Ay, Caramba!!! A back
flip? This guy can do anything – and we all want to watch! But are they going
to do a segment on his deafness each week? Maybe it’s for new viewers tuning in…
but they seem to be focusing on his disability while making it sound like huge
praise for his ability. Don’t get me wrong – he’s amazing and I would be happy
if he won. Love his total joy for whatever it is that he's doing. And kudos to Peta for being a great instructor!!!

    PAIGE– I liked that part
about her finding a family in the DWTS folks. Her Toy Story dance was cute and
    well-choreographed. I guess Mark’s vertebrae are better.

    VON– Uh, Prince
Charming? Yes, he was much better than the rehearsal videos showed… but mostly
I was watching Witney dance as Cinderella.

WANYE– Oooh, Wanye – I thought
he did a GREAT job as Mustafa! And of course, I love the Lion King music… and Lindsay rocked, as well...

    Til next week, DWTS ladies!

Oh my word, Blessing, that is the funniest description of Marla "anethsetisted on the dance floor". I am chuckling because that's exactly how to describe her.

Yes, I thing Doug got te sympathy vote and Tom felt the need to ease his mind by telling him he was safe.

Nyle isn't the first deaf contestant on DWTS. Marlee Matlin, the famous actress who is deaf, was on the show many seasons ago. She lasted for a number of rounds before being eliminated.

I think Paige and Wanya are the big contenders so far. Wanya's partner, Lindsay, smiles so big this season because she knows she finally has a great partner. When the celebrity has talent, the professional dancer's personality sparkles and shines. With a not so good or bad partner, the professional often looks drab. Sharna doesn't seem to glow this time with Antonio (for one thing, she has to deal with his ego all day) the way she did with Noah and Nick Carter.

I'm not feeling it for Ginger. For some reason, I was never a fan, tho many like her.

This week is switch up week where everyone has a different partner. I always enjoy when they do this as sometimes a different partner really brings out something good we haven't seen in a contestant

    Erin's hair and gown...???

Wanya, not so great with Witney.

    Kim and Keo-good chemistry.

Doug-not a fan but Peta didn't do too bad with him.

Ginger-okay but I think judges say politically correct stuff about her because of the ABC connection.

Karina pulled out all the stops with Antonio, but I agree with Len, there's not yet a lot of content in many of these dances. Antonio is a good sport listening to the judges, always with a smile on his face. Too many dances (everyone's) still have a bunch of big sweeping arm movements over the head which I always see as filler when the dance steps are too hard.

Paige-gorgeous,but I like her better with Mark.

    Von and Lindsay-awesome!

    Jodie-I like it!

    Nyle-my goodness! Incredible with Sharna!

Agree and will add a few more thoughts....

    *Len seemed extra cranky tonight.

    * What was the deal with the voting screw up after Nyles danced?

    * I hope that Mark shows off some of Paige's pretty, feminine side in the future. I liked seeing her in that role.

    * I liked Von and Nyles the best tonight. Von always impresses me for being able to gracefully handle such a big body! Nyles just plain impresses me.

*Jodi definitely benefited from being with Val!

O.K. I didn't read anyone's remarks.... we had a crisis on our hands when DH finally got home from his meeting tonight.

We've had mice and rats in the yard. LOTS  of them. It's because I have a bird feeder that attracts all sorts of lovely birds. Well, the rodents get hungry too. One year we caught 22 big-ass rats.

We used those snap traps, which I think are awful, so we recently got some humane traps (cages) with the idea that DH could just plop the rat into a bucket of water and drown it. It didn't seem like a bad idea at the time.

But after he left for his meeting tonight, I went out, and in one of the traps there was a little field mouse looking up at me.... and he was so cute! The thought of drowning him seemed like torture.

So while DWTS was on, DH and I put Mousie in the truck and drove him out to the country and let him go.

    I am such a sucker.

Will watch the show and read the comments tomorrow.

    Blessings, what an interesting story!

Ruth, yeah, of all times for the judges to screw up the paddles! It messed with the ambiance the dance created.

Agree about Mark, too. So far he hasn't had her dress in any weirdo costumes for which I'm glad.

Blessings, reminds me of old neighbours who had a feeder up & our cat would head over there every day & bring home a mouse or 2. The neighbour one day yelled at me to keep my cat at home (she never roamed til she saw the mice next door) & I told her it would be easier if she didn't have a mouse buffet in her back yard.... the feeder was gone the next day & out cat didn't go over there anymore.

Back to DWTS though. I enjoyed last night, but I get tired of the audience booing every time one of the judges tries to give some constructive criticism. GG

Thanks, Ladies, for understanding about Mousie. Ruth - I would LOVE to get cats, but I had them all my life and it ripped my heart out to have them put down when they got too old to have a quality of life. I want a pet that will outlive me. Maybe I'll glue some fur to a Galapagos Tortoise.

DMM - I hate the commercials, too, as well as the inane banter, and stupid judges blabbering. So we DVR the show, and start watching it around 8:20 or 8:30 or so. That way we just fast forward thru the junk, and end up watching the last of the show at the same time it ends.

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

    SO - Monday night:

WANYE - thought he did a good job with some bad choreograpy.

KIM - I thought she looked like she was sucking air during the opening group number, so I didn't hold out high hopes for her. I knew she'd get points taken off for not doing a "real" Viennese waltz.

DOUG - The man obviously cannot lead. But something Peta brought up started me thinking: she said he couldn't remember the steps.... that made me think that after such a long football career, he is probably suffering from CTE - Cumulative Traumatic Encephaly. That's what football players develop after multiple concussions. DH was a football player and we're pretty positive he has this. I had a TBI, and the short-term memory loss can be terrifying. Perhaps that's what we see when he looks so lost on the dance floor. I have new sympathy for the guy.

GINGER - Lose the man bun, Mark! Points off for that! But their salsa had LOTS of choreography, and she kept up well. She's just not real sharp like the pros are.

ANTONIO - It's been driving me crazy trying to think of what Antonio's hairstyle reminds me of. I finally got it: the cap to the outside sewer cleanout. His being late to rehearsal is totally disrespectful, and he thinks his triple flip prior to the dance will make up for his lack of commitment to practicing. Knock it off, Showoff.

    PAIGE - Sexy, graceful, vulnerable.

VON - Uhhhhhh.... a "Country Jive?" oooooookay......  Just a weird concept, and a flat-footed performance.

NYLE - In the opening segment "Tell me a secret..." NYLE signs "I'm not really deaf..." Best line of the night!  Even with a new partner, he and Sharna gave an extremely intimate, romantic dance. Afterwards, EVERYONE was in tears! Loved it!

JODY - Uh, Val, did you not get the memo about Man Buns? Despite that, thought she did much better than last week, when she got lost.

Who's going home next week: hard to say.

Blessing OMG I thought the exact same thing when she said he gets it and then a little while later can't remember the steps, and he played football for so many years, I think maybe he'll be going home next week.
