I haven't heard anything about Tamox and glaucoma.  I actually do have glaucoma already and take eye drops each night.  Mine is low-pressure glaucoma, not what most people get, high pressure kind.  My opthomologist told me mostly older people develop it (after 60).  I just turned 50 this year.  I was diagnosed 2 years ago.  He knows about my bc and taking tamox and did not express any concerns or increase or change my medication.

Tinkertude does there have to be a limit?  After all we have been through, I think we can drink till we are done.....lol

Jo1955 You are killing me with your pic's....Cheesecake is my all time fav, just think how many calories are in that one....ouch!

Bcincolorado Good information to know.  It stinks that we have to worry so much about so many possible SE.....

Eastcoastgrl  I hate when people call a little too late as I am like that as well.  Once I am comfortable there is no way I am going to change all over again.....well I guess it would depend what was on the agenda.

Welcome PallittosMom I too had thought I was going to stop menstruating but NOT......instead each month is the mystery as to when I am going to get it as I am getting much older and closer to menopause and I hate not knowing as I used to be like clockwork....Oh well joy joy!

Sandeeonherown Nice name by the way.....too funny about the glasses, thank  gosh you found out......I feel for you women who have all the warm or hot flashes as I have not really had one......I would hate to be all sweaty and ruin my hair.....LOL!

June - I took all the calories out - it is guilt - free. NOT!  We all deserve to indulge every now and then.  We can call it "comfort food."

heartnsoul - I just had dessert.  Some homemade peach cobbler someone made for me. YUM!

JUNE.. giggle juice I love it!!!! I think your right the heck with the limit, whats the difference I get loopy from the Tamoxifen anyway, I might as well feel that way with something that tastes good..lol

She loved the braces until the next day, when the pain set in. We went today and found more of that wax you can put on, poor thing her mouth is all cut up... brackets on every tooth. On the upside she hasnt complained about being bored since I had her clean her closet out yesterday.. I told her " I have many things for bored child to do"... guess she believes me now :0

ECG...Awesome news that all is going well . enjoy your night. Tomorrow is girls night out for me, I get to be the designated driver hmmmm...how did that happen

SANDEE So glad that all went well with your appt, Good news for sure!

That cheesecake does look good, even better than the eclair I indulged in tonight!

    Good night ladies!!!

June2268, tinkerude....Thanks! I figured if I have a new look (ie. slightly lopsided)might as well go for broke and get new frames as well!..and yes, having them adjused makes vision a much easier thing....I hate aything on my face so glass have been a real challenge over he years..they ahve o be small, light and not touch my cheeks or be shoved too close to my face. Weird but true! Ah such minor inconveneinces, hmm?

I decided to have ho chocolae with glycine in it insead of cheesecake..hoping it helps knock me out...we shall see. (did add a weird flavour to the hot milk though...maybe i will have to stick to drinking i wih fruit juice!)

I too put my jammies on tonight after dance class (African dance ....one and a half hour of pure, rhythmic bliss! and great cardio), had a slice of pizza and watched Nikita and the Practice on my compueer..no mind stuff. Seemed perfect. Have a couple of long walks planned for the weekend and a whole bunch of doing nothing so....seems like the perfect way to spend the last weekend in January!

Tinkertude..my sister drank a lot of smoothies when she first go her braces..frozen strawberries and milk....cooled her mouth down and choc full of vitamin c!

Is there a difference between generic tamoxifen and Novladex? I read that there is a difference with side affects. Thank you!

Tinkertude your poor girl.  I just had my daughter read your post as she has been wanting braces for as long as I can remember ( she thinks they are cool ).  Remember when we were young we would never want that in our mouths and today the kids all here seem to pray for them.  I told my daughter be careful what you wish for.....as she has already wished for glasses and now braces......

Okay so I am heading into bed last night and notice my upper chest was extremely red.  Could this be a SE of the tamox?  I have had many people tell me during the day tell me that my chest was red, but when I looked down it didn't seem to look that bad, but last night I was looking in the mirror and it was horribly red.  Any thoughts on this?

MissTW -   When I got my Rx filled, I asked for brand instead of generic at CVS and they told me Nolvadex wasn't made anymore?  Maybe I got that wrong.  Mine is from a company called MYLAN.  I did make them check that it wasn't made in India or China or somewhere.  This company is in West Virginia someplace.  I'd be interested in what others are taking.

MissTW - From the research I have done, the only real difference between generic tamoxifen and Nolvadex is the cost.  I am taking generic tamox and having no se's - okay just a few warm flushes but those are better than the raging hot flashes I was having.

Another question regarding my chest being red on occasion.  Could this be from radiation?  The area is closer to my neck, the skin that is exposed with v-neck or scoops tops, but not the radiated area......

Heartnsoul I love the pic, is this your pet?

Alright I am 10 days out from my due date for my period and I am already going through PMS......ARGH!!!!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all plan a trip and meet each other?

    Tinkertude, have fun tonight!! :)

June, those drinks look great, sort of like a Mudslide or Frozen Toasted Almond. I used to drink those years ago. Yum. More like dessert!

Miss TW, Janet, mine are made by Teva USA. Would be interesting to see if there is a correlation between SE and different manufacturers. Active ingredients are the same but the fillers are all different depending on which company makes it. Could be the fillers that some people have problems with. Never know!

Jo, love all your pics :)

I have also been told that the name brand is no longer manufactured. Since my plan allows and cost is the same to me, I always ask for name brand of any prescription. And I have noticed with other drugs that the "inactive" ingredients can make a difference in how effective the drug is or what side effects occur.  One would think this shouldn't be the case, but pharmacists have acknowledged that it can happen.

June, it would be great for all of us to meet up one day soon and put the posts to the faces.

Jo, had the cheese cake for breakfast. Will have the healthy cereal for dinner.

We are having our kitchen ripped out this week. The only food I'll be getting is what will be posted on this thread. LOL

I was told generic can work for some drugs, not all. My endocrinologist told me never to take generic synthroid (for thyroid, or lack of). Got me thinking about the tamox now.

Jules - Since they are all cyber calories and don't count anyway, you can skip the healthy breakfast.  Maybe I'll whip up something yummy later.

Tinkertude- glad she liked the idea:) works nicely with frozen blueberries too!

My tamox, after only being on it a month, also went by the wayside. I was concerned and my pharmacist said that what happens is some companies gobble all of one ingredient so that they have enough supply and then other companies canno get what they need. So right now, there is more demand than resouce for the tamoxifen brand I was originally taking (which was shaped like an octagon or six-sided version of it....I know...it is Saturday and I have no words) Now O am on novo-tamoxifen...smaller, rounder pills...splitable...I have not honesly noticed a difference.

Oh...and I slept like the dead last night. Took the sleeping pill and glycerin and I slept until 10:37am!!!  only woke up once at 4am..so today I stopped at the healthfood store and bought some gel capsules so I can take it that way instead..by the spoonful in juice or hot chocolate is disgusting!...so I am going to do this for a few more nights and see how things pan out. Wish me luck!

Oh yeah...I am in Canada but will be in NYC March 3-6 if anyone on this group lieves inthe big apple and wants to hook up for coffee!

June - yes, that picture is my little dog Molly. She is a combination of a Maltese and a Poodle - a Malti-Poo. Sometimes I accidentally call her a Molly-Poo! And people don't comment, like I'm crazy or something - hahaha!

I was curious about the difference between generic tamoxifen and brand names so I called my pharmacy because I was wondering which one I was getting. Mine says Tamoxifen on the bottle and the label and the manufacturer is Mylan, but it ends up the brand names of tamoxifen are things like Nolvadex and Valodex. The pharmacist said tamoxifen is actually just the main ingredient and that's just what it's commonly called. So, ummm... I guess I'm getting generic? It was kind of confusing!

jo - your pictures are definitely great! Plus they make me hungry! And sleepy at night, so apparently I'm easily influenced by images!

heartnsoul - I did the same thing and talked to my pharmacist about the difference.  I know I am on the generic because that is what my insurance pays for.  I could get the other but the MO has to specify it and I pay more.  It does not matter to me which one I am on as long as they all work.
