(((Hugs))) Tinkertude . Sorry for your loss. :(

Swanseagrl....sorry you had a bad day. I have felt incredibly irritable twice now... I mean INCREDIBLY to the point of almost crying twice after taking the T. Came over me suddenly and left just as suddenly. Wierd. Seems the nausea went away ( for the most part) but that replaced it. I'm on a small dose but know that was not normal for me. I am on 5mg now and today was a good day. I did have a slight funky feeling in my tummy about 2-3 hours after taking but it didn't last. So hopefully the nausea is gone for good. :)

Hope you have a better day tomorrow Swansea

Tinkertude...I also understand...my cat was diagnosed with kidney problems when I was diagnosed with cancer..then she was put medication..she is healthy now but the spring and summer broke my heart. Take care of yourself tomorrow..be gentle....there is only so much one gal can or should handle in the run of a month hmm?

As for the sugar thing..w.as wondering why I wake up in the middle of the nigth craving a cookie. Can't have any on the house..used blueberries up last night in muffins and woke up and ate one at 3am...!! ridiculous!!! My pal is a baker..gluten free goodies....sound slike the way to go if I am gogin to have anythign in the house...feel better knowing it is no me...does explain why I am not losing any weight with the personal trainer thoughSurprised

(((Tinkertude))) I'm so sorry about your kitty.  Those of us who have lost a pet can defnitely understand.

D4Hope:  If it is "normal" I'm not sure since it didn't happen to me.  Did you have regular periods before you got bc?  I would check with your onco to make sure.  I didn't have them for about 8 months and then had one the day after my mx.  I was told by my onco and my GYN that any unusual spotting that occured I should call to see if I needed to be seen.  It doesn't hurt to make a phone call.

Tinkertude So sorry about your kitty Frown My 21 year old cat Chloe died halfway through my chemo and I was never so sad. I wanted no I needed her to make it through that part of the journey with me. It was a very sad lonely time as I live alone. Now I have a new little kitty and a big giant puppy that thinks he's a kitty. I hope your heart heals soon.

    Hugs to you

    tinkertude,

the uterine polyps formed and grew back when I started tamoxifen over 3 years ago...  I took Tamoxifen for 2 years, and then last year, my onc. switched me to Femara.  Now, my bones are in bad shape, so I am back on Tamoxifen.  BUT I am terribly afraid that the polyps will return, now that I am taking Tamoxifen again.

I had been splitting my dose between morning and evening, but yesterday I decided to try taking the whole dose mid-evening. (I didn't want to take it right before bed because of the glass of water I'm supposed to drink with it. I'm up in the night enough already.) Anyway, two days of taking it in the evening, and I haven't noticed any problems. I do seem to get tired about an hour after taking it, but perhaps that is just because I would be getting tired that time anyway. Does it make anyone else here drowsy? (good reason to take it at night, if it does, anyway!)

Hi everyone. I haven"t been around for a while and I just need to say it's really hard to keep up with you on this train! For all the new passengers I just want to say I was reallly freaked out about starting too and it's real close to 3 months for me and even though everyone's different - I think you'll be just fine. I'm starting to feel pretty normal again.Smile

Harley how did you know the polyps were there? Did you feel wierd or have a pain or discharge? I'm really swollen and I've had huge cysts before so I'm trying not to obsess - but any info would be appreciated. Did they appear rather soon in your tamoxifen RX?

Good luck and good health to everyone, Val

Jules Hope you are having a better day today!  THE BLUES SUCK!!!!! Your toe.....ouch, does it have to be bandage or not???

Tinkertude hope your doing better today as well....how are your kids coping??

Harley44not liking the idea of Polyps, so much on this little white pill to worry about when when you are non-symptomatic.....

    Nancy91355 Good luck and Welcome!!!

MammaShells- Welcome!!!  Where are you located in Mass?  Close to Shrewsbury?  I have noticed my mood changing getting closer to me getting my period.  I am oh so sensitive and just this feeling of DRAB and where I cannot even begin to explain why......sometimes it can last for days, other-times it is just one bad day.....I am ending my 9th month soon on this little white pill, seriously so far so good......

EastcostgrlAre you on 20 mg or 10mg?  Are you taking the pill with food?  My Onc told me food was the best to ward off nausea as I tend to be sensitive to everything and I was not with this.....

D4Hope- The discharge is normal and yes it is disgusting!!!!

JanetinVirginia- nice pic, where are we heading.....somewhere warm and non blizzard I hope....

Jo- what are we having today for food?  I am hungry!!

    Hi girls !

Just popping in.  Have been having great trouble sleeping.  Called oncologist who called in some zolpidiem for me (generic ambien)  WHEW, nice to have on hand for once in a while.  I told her I am ready to be done with this white pill she told me we will discuss in May at my next appt.  So we shall see.  Some days are better than others.  I have been kicking up my exercising after slacking during the holidays and do feel my hot flashes are a bit less.  Wondering if my period may reappear again.  Had it for 3 months haven't had it since November.  Oh boy !  And that sandwich looks yummy.

Oh yes and D3 I was told 2000 mgs a day.  My levels were tested don't remember what they were but not too bad.

    :)
Have a good day all.  Rainy, icy day here in NY ~ YUCK !

    Hi Ladies,

I'm back on the train after a long hiatus.  Not from the tamoxifen, but from this thread.  I couldn't keep up with all the posts, so I've only read the last few pages.

Tinkertude - I'm sorry to hear about your cat.  Pets are so special.

Harley - hey, I didn't know you went back on Tamox.  Now lets keep those polyps at bay - i remember how much you suffered when you went through all that.

I'm allllmmmmooooooosttttt at 3 years on the Tamox.  I've had a hard time with it, but the anxiety of NOT taking it is greater than the SE's that I experience (most days).  Lately, I've been really down, so I'm back here to offer support to others and learn from all you wonderful ladies.  This usually picks me up.

It is good to be back.

Hi Gals....Alicia....just be very careful with anything like Ambien....I have read so much about the "unusual" side effects...they are all over the internet....did you first try something like Melatonin?  Or the Glycine they were talking about earlier?

I had trouble sleeping also, & the Melatonin worked for that, BUT caused me to rely on ImodiumAD!  So I quit everything.  I sleep well, just dream LOTS!  After a year on Tamoxifen now, everything is pretty good....sleep is better, even if I do dream.

Hello everyone.  I'm new here but not to Tamoxifen.  I've been on it for almost a year.  As for as SE's, if I drink more than one cup of coffee, I can expect to be nauseated.  When I first started taking Tamoxifen, any amount of coffee would cause problems.  After two weeks, I finally tried again and from trial and error have learned to stick to a single cup.  Hot tea doesn't seem to have the same affect.

Sleep was a problem until I started playing volleyball a couple of nights a week.  It is amazing how that helped.

For anyone worried about SE's, I just want to encourage you.  We have to do everything we can to beat the beast.

Exodus - Welcome to the Tammy Train.  Wonderful group of ladies here.

That is interesting about the coffee.  I have been on Tamox for 3 weeks and was having no stomach problems until 3 days ago.  Now queasy all day and I do have coffee in the morning.  Can it be related? Hum? I love my coffee and would hate to give it up.

Chevy ~ I have taken ambien before. I just make sure I am totally exhausted and don't leave the bed.  I have never had a problem.  I am lucky if I take it 1 time in about a two week period.  Sometimes I just need a good night of quality sleep.  But thank you for your concern.

June ~ OH MY we are getting an ice storm here.  This weather is crazy.  Pretty sure the groundhog will not see his shadow tomorrow !

JO ~ you are making my butt get bigger looking at those yummy pictures !  that lava chocolate looks delicious !

Hope everyone has a good night !

Tink I can only imagine how lonely you must feel......did your cat sleep with you at all?  I ask this, cause when I met my husband he was freaked out that my 2 cats slept with me.....and then in no time he had my one cat hooked where the my cat would sleep in his nook of his arm every night.  And let me tell you, he would call the cat when it was bed time......I was so replaced by my cat but that is when I fell big time......I miss him dearly as we had to make that hard decision last year and it was god awful, especially for my kids who are just so young.......
