JUNE That is soo sweet! He never did until we lost Rex our other cat in Sept, because Rex always slept with me, after Rex was gone he started too, but the last few weeks as he started to get sicker he stopped and would go behind the couch or in the the basement behind things, a sure sign they say of whats to come. I feel so bad that he died in the nurses arms, but my husband said if he had not taken him in I would of found him gone somewhere in the house and he feels that would of been worse for me, I am sure he is right. Absoultey it is always such a hard decison even though we know it is for the best...
How is your weather up there?

Thanks for the welcome ladies!

tinker - I know what it is like to lose a dear pet. Our cocker slept with us for about 13 years and the last year he would not. I don't think he was able to jump on the bed any longer and found a spot in the house to stay in. We had just moved to a bigger place and I don't think he ever got used to it.

Tink the weather is annoying to say the least......storm 1 today dropped about 8 inches and we are expecting a killer of a storm tomorrow. My kids had today off and now tomorrow. 6 snow days this year so far....4 in Jan and 2 so far in Feb. I love them home, but I would much rather them be home in the summer when they can just chill and hang and be children......
Hey have any of you ladies decided to hook up on FB????? We all did that with our radiation group, it was and still is awesome. If any of you are interested look me up as I would love to stay connected and be able to get to know you more......I hardly ever mention anything about this as this site is better for doing that......
I hate to whine, but here goes......I hate PMS! I just wish it would come and you know what the sad part is, it is not due for 7 more days!!!! ARGH!!!! I feel much better now, thank you for that!

June - there was a time when I had 4 cats. We never invited them to sleep on the bed, but with the door open, they certainly ended up there. I'll never forget waking up one morning and my husband started laughing. He said, "They've got me pinned down." There was one by each arm, one between his legs and one at his feet. It was so funny, and to think he had probably been trapped like that for hours while he slept!
Alicia - I know what you mean about how nice it is to have Ambien on hand. Just before the end of the year (while it was still covered on my insurance), I refilled my prescription because I just never know when I'll need it. Only about once/month, but still it's irreplaceable when that night comes.
I'm interested in trying the Glycine - gotta go back through the thread and read up on it again. I currently take clonazepam every night to sleep, and it's very mild, and a good sleep but I would rather not take ANY prescription (including tamoxifen, but that one's not negotiable - sigh).

Heartnsoul7That was the best laugh ever!!!! Thank you for that and the vision of your husband LMAO!!!!!
Jo I am waiting to see what you find for us ladies tonight........

HEARTNSOUL...Needed that tonight! what a sight that must of been... My Rex used to sit on my chest when he wanted me to get up and feed him and lick my face, poor kitty had an identity crisis, i think he thought he was a dog!! he licked all the time lol...0

I am glad you post sweets on this site Jo because I have gotten rid of ALL SUGAR in the house...anynoe else wakign up at 4am and eating cookies? Dear god!! Why go to a personal triner to fend off he ten-pound-o-tami if i am going to eat cookies in a half dazed state!?!?
My cat, Mudpie, has slept with me for 18.5 years...the last ten have been on my pillow from Ocober to May when it gets colder...but with my new hot flashes...wow!! nothing like a fur hat ro ramp up the heat!...so I opt to toss off the blankets and pjs and leave her where she is...I have my priorities, hmm? I understand how folks have been feeling re. expecting my cat to go through this journey with me...seems easier somehow to pour some feelings into petting her instead of talking, hmm?
Now we have a snow storm upon us and another on the way tomorrow...forgot tobring my writing work home so if I am stormstayed I guess I will have to relax and read!
As for sleep...have been taking glycine for a few nights now with my zopliclone....and it is helping. I am sleeping deeper and am hoping to NOT feel it necessary to renew my prescription when it comes due again...deep fear of turning into my mother and relying on the darn things...so I have to remind myself that I need to sleep to heal and keep things in perspective and that it is a temporary event in my life. I have also ramped up my vit D to 4000 per day and will request a blood test from my gp next month.
night all. Stay safe and warm!

We lost one of our kitties at Christmas 2 years ago and our othr one this past June. They are definitely missed. We still have our little dog but she is getting old as well. My daughter brought home her cat who is part Maine Coon and is a hoot. He is living with us temporarily while she finishes grad school ( she is living here too). He usually sleeps with us and loves to wake us in the morning. I too do Facebook alot so would hook up that way as well.

Yep, I was switched from Tamoxifen after 2 years, to Femara. I was only on Femara for 1 year, and now have had SIGNIFICANT bone loss... so now I am back on the Tamoxitrain!
I am soo worried that those polyps will grow back. I told my onc in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that IF they DO grow back, I want a COMPLETE HYSTERECTOMY... I don't want to worry about this crap any more... That was the most painful surgery I have ever had...
Hope you are doing well. 3 years, WHOO!!! me, too... I'm starting year 4! Can't wait to be finished with these hormonals....
Hugs

You will know... IF you have terrible bleeding issues, you will certainly go to your gyn to get it checked out. They will do the trans vaginal u/s, which you may be getting, since you are on Tamoxifen, and it can cause these growths...
Anywhoo.... hope everyone is having a smooth ride today!

Morning gals! Hi Alicia & someone else who takes Ambien.... I was only saying this because a gal on another thread was talking about how she used to do "things" and then not remember them the next morning, & sleep-walking was a sure thing. Also she went through bouts of not remembering what her purse looked like....And her husband telling her that "last night was a blast with you" and she couldn't remember a thing! So THAT part sounded fun, if only she could have "been there" ....Ha!
So just tie one ankle to the bed when you take that sleeping pill...
When you gals talk about your kitties, it is so sweet! We had our "Tiger' for about 18 years. He used to follow me & the girls when we went for a walk....And yes, hop up on DH chest when he fell asleep on the couch...& didn't wake him up! He never would have let him do that, if he were awake or sober....But the girls & I would just sit there & snicker!
Yes, I know when our best buds get very ill, they will go away & find a place to be by themselves, when it is time........Our little "Tramp" did that....into a neighbor's crawl-space.... We just didn't know where he was.
Thanks for the desserts gals....I made a big chocolate cake yesterday, WITH chocolate frosting mixed with marsh-mellow cream! YyyyyuuuuuuuuuM!
Okay, take good care! xoxoxoxo

I will be start my tamoxifen next monday, will be two weeks post rads and that was when they wanted me to start. Think I will try mine at night because that is when I am used to taking my vitamins if I tried in the AM I would probably forget.
For those talking about Ambien. My DH and I have taken it for several years, just when we need it and have never had any problems with it. However I have a girlfriend who took it and she would get up at night and eat all the chips and candy bars in the house. She could not figure out why she was gaining weight. She now takes Lunesta.
I also have a cat. She sleeps with me every night. DH and cat have a real love hate relationship. They act they they don't like each other but it is all a big game to both of them. They are funny when they both try to stair and stand each other down to see who wins.

Been on the Tammy train for 3 weeks now. Doing good until 4 days ago when the queasy stomach started and is still hanging around. Has this happened to anyone else and will it go away? I am running out of options - can't take the AIs - way to nauseated on those. Like the fact that Tammy has taken away my hot flashes and now have a few warm waves - don't know what I would do next if I had to stop this med. Any input would be appreciated.

I lOVE cats! We have 2 cats. One is a Norwegian Forest cat, and the other is a black and white tuxedo. Spike is the tuxedo and Thor is the Big Black Fuzzball... we love them both.
Spike and I have been having races to the recliner every evening. When he wins, I have to sit on the floor... LOL

Jo - So sorry to hear of queasiness. I don't know what to tell you. For a little while post chemo I still got some yuck feelings and I would take a quarter pill of zofran, but I don't know if that would be okay with Tammy. Also my pharmacist had told me to make ginger tea for relief of nausea. I never needed to make the tea as zofran worked great for me. She said to get fresh ginger and cut up some pieces and pour hot water in and let it steep, then use a bit of sweetner if prefered. My sister had also found candied ginger I believe at Trader Joes and I used to eat some of that when on chemo. Not sure if it had any effect as I always started the day with zofran. Anyway, ginger is supposed to help with nausea. Sure hope you are feeling well soon.

Beans - Thank for the tip - I am off to Wal Mart soon and I will see if they have any ginger.

Wow this train is fast moving!! Hard to keep up with this fast moving thread.
Love hearing about all the kitties....I have two. Ragdolls. Love em!
And June and Tinker, I also Facebook and would love to hook there as well.
Jo, so sorry you are nauseated again. Yuck. I'm on 5mg now and have been doing well. My nausea went away and hope it stays away. I was also going to suggest the ginger tea. I can't take any pain meds because they make me SOO sick. Last time I tried (and got soo sick again) I had ginger tea and it helped quite a bit. I now make it just to make it because it's good I always keep fresh ginger root in my freezer and just take it out and use a fine grater and grate a bunch into my hot water. Let it steep for a few minutes then strain it and drink. I add agave or raw honey for sweetener.Hope that helps you.
