That sand surfing looks like fun! How awesome would it be to do that!

Sahalie and Jas...count me in,three! Strapping on my ankle straps,my ankle brace(fell once tore ankle ligaments and was in a cast)and my knee pads! Whee...doing those wheelies!!! Reminds me of when I was a kid and would think I was going to be in the Cloud Heavens any minute as I could swing so high!!! Great memories!!!
Can't wait...love sand dunes and I am game! Sahalie, thanks, I did feel the hugs and appreciate the support and the kindness. Will include my magnolia tree pics as that is one strong and awesome tree. It will make us a magnificent shade tree when we need to cool off from the heat.Sahalie,I just love your pics and the way you write. The words are just so flowing and mesmerizing...I look forward to posts from you and everyone here. The beach is an awesome thread and all these fun cybersports...yep,I am right there! The beautiful pics...keep them coming! It just perks me up and my attitude. Pics are harder to post with this wireless card than my DSL-must need to go to the satellite and ask permission and come back, again??? LOL It does not stop me as I am a tough old middle-timer! OLO
We are so in sync on this beach thread! I taught some challenging little ones and worked with some interesting adults in my career. It prepares us for life,I suppose as it is a microcosm of all that is around us. You shared that wonderful pineapple a few days back and this pineapple popped into my mind! We can have lovely slushies, juices, fruit slices! Yummo!
Jas,Sahalie is right! I love the songs and look forward to them. The Platters are in my iPod and love them! I am proud of your organizational flylady hints and love the website. It just feels lighter to have some things shredded and gone. I always say here we go,again, back to Sherwood Forest as I get tons of paper and junk mail-esp after a few wks. I have filled-out the forms and submitted on-line,too. All those insurance and credit cds things just seem to grow! I believe it was Margaret who first mentioned the wireless card to me. This is much better and runs $60/mo for unlimited usage/AT&T. I can access everything and bills, etc which BBerry can't w/out the JAVA. The BBerry I have until next spring as it was a two-yr contract. It is good in a pinch...this one works w/a laptop and easier for screen reading.
Emelee...when is your big event, again? Too cool on your little one-to-be's Burberry swimwear. That will look spiffy here at our beach. Glad to see you here with us this glorious and sunny wkend!
Madison...nice to see you dropping in at the Beach to say hello to us. Hope things go well in LA for you and everyone.
Neesie....missing you and seems like you had a special event today? Hope that the Comcast has everything back like it was-or better than it was. LOL I am still enjoying my MI red delic apples and got 16 more lbs at Kroger!Do you think that Johnny Appleseed had me in mind when he put those appleseeds out yrs ago? I think that an apple a day will(maybe)keep the dr away;so,I eat two or three! OLO Have always loved red apples and guess that is why I went into teaching, you think? Nah....it is to keep from eating the stuff from the two best men on this planet:Ben and Jerry! Woo--hoo!I do love that stuff and should not be saying that to you as you do not need to hear it while doing the is it Visa diet, again?I wonder why I gained after eating a bag of reduced price Dove Milk Chocolates? Hmmmm....go,figure!!!
faith..great pics of the grands and Sarah! She is very beautiful and I know that you are so happy that the last few wks are written in the chapters rather than pages to be filled. That is an expression that I employ as that is a great event that has occurred and so excited to write a new chapter in my daily book of life's happenings. Beautiful ring and congrats to Sarah! Also, your events for next wk's CNN news-to-be sounds interesting! Funny that the MIL was breezing through and seemed like a co-worker's mother. The mother would visit(wife of an army colonel)and get ready at 6:30AM each day and say:"I am ready". That was it...no help with any household tasks or jobs! That is a joke in my house when we announce:"I am ready!"
There are interesting people everywhere and books just waiting to be writtten,I think! Enjoy the trip and best to everyone in your absence and hope that you got your itinerary straight. You tell it in such a comical fashion...thanks for the smiles!
Wings...can't wait to see the pics from graduation and hope that it was a great time and lots of fun for everyone. Do you do scrapbooking? I love all those neat stickers as I have sticker books from the 80's and love the way the stickers are used in pics now. It really enhances the photography with all these new techniques and neat materials. Hope you will post some more lighthouse pics or MI pics...you have beautiful ones! I wish that we were closer as that will be a beachy blast!!! Have fun all of you!
Margo...hoping that your Sun goes well and great weather abounds. I can't wait to go outside and walk by the water. The creek is clear and a few boats are out today. Friday,I walked acrss the bridge into town and the lovely sailboats floating there in the glittering water was so neat.I would imagine that Ryan is still celebrating as I would be! That was awesome! So happy for him! Hope that you went to Starbucks for us this wkend. I plan to go while in the city next wk. I must hv my fix of Caramel Macchiato! I love the taste of Starbucks and treat myself on occasion.
Susan...you are right abt the oldies and loved Billy Joel. I find it difficult to believe that the daughter he had w/Christie Brinkley is grown! Where did we go while they were aging?LOL Seems like her name was Alexis and a beautiful little girl while all those popular songs were played that we like to sing. Hope that your Sun goes well and that the crazy weather has gone away. Your area has had lots of winds and storms recently...storms in many places, these days...windy and blustery, but not here today! Yeah!
Amy...thinking of you as I do each day. Hoping that you are having a good day on that beautiful farm and that the real kid and almost-real kids are good. Hi to Sandy and Tuck! Thinking of you and take a ride for me in that neat Jeep Wrangler...love the wind in the face and on the arms.
Janny...thinking of you this beautiful Sun and hope that your weather is good in PA. This would be a great day for a motorbike ride here as the wind is just right and so sunny. Saw sev out yesterday and there is a club that rides by on Sundays. There must be abt 15 or more locally and I always think of you and your Dresser! Hello to the beautiful grands and dh! Have a good week!
Nicki...yes,Tim(oldest teddy bear) will be 58 this Christmas as I will be...my b'day is not until Aug--so he just 4 mos younger than I. He and I have bn through some great times and some challenges;yet, despite my goofy cousin marking on him in 1956,he is one tough Spartan bear. Hope that Chicago-area is having wonderful weather like we are. One of my very fave bears was made by a maternal aunt who later died from bc in 1999. She(Geraldine)watches over the other bears in my house...her little gingham apron and bows on her head are very unique and bearyspecial!
Hi to all my dear and cherished pals and angelic friends. You are never far from my mind and heart! I appreciate the support and never do I forget you.
I get by with a little help from my friends, just as wonderful today as when the Beatles sang it in the 60's! My apologies to anyone that I have skipped. Thanks for sharing the kindness and the warmth of the Beach! it is nice to have a cheery place with warmth and great friends supporting us! No mosquitoes or pests allowed here...got to go get the Cutter and the Off before my walk...it is that time-of-yr at the NC coast! No bugs allowed at a cyber beach...real one, that is buggy at times! LOL
Iris/Spartan'72/bearlysane/bearywordy(as always)...bearyproud of everyone who has supported this Beach thread and posted here...I believe in angels!

We're back from our weekend of First Communions and DH is already out digging in the dirt! Poor Guy.........had to leave the house twice in one weekend.............he's a homeboy!
Dang near poked my eye out this morning................I was sitting at my vanity putting eye makeup on and this huge Tom Turkey flew right by the window and came in for a landing!!!!!!!!!!! Scared the begeebies out of me!!
Needless to say not much got done around the house this weekend.....or during last week either................and not much is going to get done now..but I'm going to go give it a 'once over' and call it a day!
Hugs,
Neesie

OK.... you'll all sleep better tonight. Whizzed thru my house for a whole five minutes (HAD to get that itinery-thingy) and you'll all be pleased to know that I also removed the poinsettas -- silk of course, from our front porch and the matching lovely poinsetta wreath from the front door.
Figured I had to move quickly before we were voted off of the cul-de-sac!!
Beachiest blessings to one and all. Madison & Emelee, so happy that our baby twosome drew you to our good beach. This is a fantastic place. I'll keep posting baby pics till someone sends me a discreet PM asking me to cease and disist. LOL.
almost packed!!! MI here I come!!!

Thanks ladies for the congrats on my son. Maybe there is hope for him yet!
Iris, what a great feeling when you know within yourself that there was lots of doubt and you exceeded those expectations. Don't you hate the dialup speed compared to high speed? We took Ryan to dinner last night. Weather today wasn't great, was actually kind of cool but we went to listen to my girlfriend's hubby, who plays in a band. We were going to stay for an hour and ended up staying for the 4+ hours. There were about 12 of us or so who went, we had a great time. I was at Starbucks yesterday and today.
Neesie, Ryan has to find someone to give him a job from the list of employers they provided so hopefully someone will hire him or he has to go through the whole process next year.
Susan, I loved the snowballs at the beach - just wasn't something that I expected.
Nicki, I just saw on the news tonight the sad story of Eight Belles.
Faith, my son is so funny. He does seem excited about this opportunity. He would never get an opportunity to do some plumbing around here because Joe would do it. Enjoy your time in MI.
Jaz, you're lucky that your dining table gets the paper - mine makes it to the breakfast bar in my kitchen. It's amazing how much paper we get. It was me that told Iris about the broadband card - works great but it's about $60 a month. I don't really need it but for Iris I thought it would be perfect when she's in Smallville. I don't know about the others but Verizon and AT&T have them.
Emelee, I love the sun goddess title.
Sahalie, been busy all day so didn't have a chance to tell how how much I enjoyed the Chunky Monkey last night. That was the first time I had ever seen a mole up close. It was cold in SM today. I think the maker faire was going on at the fairgrounds this weekend - the traffic was so bad all weekend. It was about 62 today.
Debbie, isn't it great having our online friends? Each day is a gift.
Missed some of you but will catch up later.

Good Morning Beach Buddies!
Glad all had a good evening and hope you start your week off great!
Margaret: That is great about your Son......where does he live? The Union thing is kinda wierd from what I understand.........they are members of the Union, and the Union gets the jobs but they are employed by different companies. It is probably the same Union that Andy (DS) is in. There seems to be lots of jobs in the AZ area and the $$ are great. Alot more than I've ever made per hour!
Faith: Get thy self off the computer and put thy self in the car..........you have a lunch date at NOON!! Safe travels to you!
Wings: MI and modern technology........not two in one anymore! My internet stayed on all weekend!!!!!!! Nancy pm'd me from work and her phone lines are down! See you at noon at Noodles!
I'll be back in a bit to chat with you all!

Neesie, DS lives with us in the SF Bay Area, so as long as he gets signed on somewhere and sticks with it, he has it made.
Emelee, cute suit.

Ok....... so this was our whole gathering, from left to right:
Sphynx/Nancy, SusieLouToo, WingGirl/Bonnie, nEEsie/Denise, and me faithandfifty/Debbie -- the other four are all MI lovelies and are active on the MI thread and we have walked the Detroit Komen together. (They extended their team to include stray Buckeyes, last spring.)
Now. Here's the three of us 'beach buddies'................
All we were missing was the sand and the water -- because we had lots of sunshine!! Will post these & then continue..... just setting the stage so far. BTW: I think this is a GREAT picture of all 3 of us!! I think Susie is playing the role of photographer at this point. The waiter took the first one of the whole group.

So imagine five women meeting at a busy intersection, all talking nonstop of surgeries, work, family, health, friends, plans etc etc (all while attempting to sort out the Noodles menu.)
We enjoy our diverse selections and to conclude the meal Winger pulls out luau cupcakes with the brightest of colors and suddenly they are all reaching for colorful gift bags and before I can grasp what's going on..... it's a SURPRISE grandma's baby shower!!!! I am speechless (and you know how seldom that happens.)
So I'm opening the card and reading and realizing and catching-on-slowly and amazed and finally grasping that you're all in this surprise together!! I'm flabbergasted. Over-the-moon amazed.
Next I'm gonna take pictures of the goodies and you'll see how amazing you actually are!

Now imagine every shade of happy tissue paper being pulled back from gifts wrapped and marked for 'faith' and others marked for Sarah and yet others marked for W.B. (Wonder Boy.) Imagine an outpouring of love from the beach that looks like this:
0 -
and this..............
0 -
and there's still a pile of love for Sarah & W.B. to unwrap..........
Imagine if you will that there's a place where the common denominator is an illness that attempts to rob women of their feminity, their dignity, their livlihood, and their sense of humor -- and then absolutely transform those same women at a cyber-coffee-clache, world wide front porch where these same gals can open their hearts to one another, offer encouragement, share their fears, be creative, reach out to one another, hold one another up thru the good times and the challenging.... then picture these woman reaching out beyond their boundaries and being extra-ordinary, expressing thoughtfulness to the ultimate power of wow and you get a glimmer at what this beach and this site is capable of creating.
My dear friends, you take my breath away. Over lunch today SusieLouToo said that she felt she was a 'better' person since her diagnosis. On so very many levels I'd agree with that.
In my fear and anxiety over the juggling of this pregnancy you walked beside me and held my hand, offered encouragement and kindness..... and now today you CELEBRATE with me thru an amazing display of generosity. Pass the tissues.
Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you and Thank you.

Just feeling the warmth of sun and the love that has been shared here at the beach today.
Thought for the Day: This was written by Audrey Hepburn, what a beautiful person she was. Today would have been her birthday - she passed away in 1993.
" People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone."
Wings, Neese, and Faith: You are so pretttty! Your smiles are contagious and I just want to hug ya. Looks like you had a great time.
Margo: Im seeing that proud mama again. Your beaming with pride.
Marissa: Hahahahaha now thats a cute suit. I knew you were getting a kick out of seeing those adorbable babies. They are adorable arnt they!
Faith: A surprize shower. Thats just about the sweetest thing I have heard in along time. You made me smile. What a special friendships we have.
Have a wonderful evening at the beach everyone. You all are really special.

Wow faith I cant imagine anyone that deserved the party more than you! Glad you all had a great time and the pictures are wonderful.
I haven't been around lately as I have been not feeling totally up to par. They took cultures on Friday to figure out what is going on and I have MRSA, a nasty staph infection. Great, just what I needed. I mean I am not surprised with how contagious that stuff is and its in the schools and everywhere but I don't need that to deal with along with weekly chemo. I am on strong strong doses of Antibiotics and still on the Valtex for the shingles. No immune system can really get you. You all have fun tossing your frisbees and I will sit over here in my bubble tent so that I don't expose anybody to my germs.

Faith thanks for posting the pictures. What a wonderful surprise. I wish I could have been there. BTW, Sarah looks pretty good in her picture. Things must be going better.
MI girls you are a good group!!!
Neesie you special person. You are great, ya know that. I want you to move closer. darnit!!!
For you Amy, a bubble girl. I think she is at the beach too.
I use to love to go roller skating at the beach. If I were to do it now, I would have to be wrapped in pillows or bubble wrap. One fall would end it all.

Hi Friends!
Yes, a good time was had by all at lunch today! Faith worded everything so nicely.......I'm glad you enjoyed it Faith!
Amy.......I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a rough time.....enough girl..........we've got to get you healthy. I'm not afraid of your 'germs'...so I might break through that bubble and give you a hug anyhow!
Nicki: Thanks for the compliment........not a bad picture for middle aged foggies, eh..............atleast I don't think Faith touched them up before she posted them!
Susan: Thanks Friend! I don't know if I'm great.......but I do my best!! I sure wish we lived closer too...............we could probably do ourselves some great damage!!!!
Margo: I'm sure Ryan will find the job..........the hard part is done, being excepted into the Union!
I'll try to get back in a bit.............................
Oh yea...........Faith didn't mention that I'm such a ditz that Susie had to order my lunch for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or that I took a bath in "grape powerade" while trying to refill my Ice Tea!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
nEEsie

nEEsie: there are some details just too precious to share.........
susan: anyone who can find snowballs at the beach can find just the perfect image to cheer on Amy. well done.... extra time in the jacuzzi for you!
nicki: this is indeed a brilliantly sparkling beach.... we owe so much to Angel for discovering it for us and then for giving us the treasure map to explore together.
emelee: that's the cutest little zoot suit. i'm picturing all of the fun that you're going to invent..... when are you due?
amy: I went looking for additional bubbles and these spoke to me on your behalf. we are sending oodles of bubbles, ephervesant bubbles, bubblin' bubbles filled with love to shore up your immune system -- to reach into your body on a cellular level and improve the scenery there -- wiping out all foreign nastiness and replacing it with strength, wellness and power........... keep filling your heart with hope

What awesome pics and thanks for sharing! I have checked-in many times this afternoon and was delighted to see the gathering of our Beach Buddies and the beautiful surprise showering of glee...lovely pics! Thanks so much to all of you for sharing with us! I have been eating candy each time I checked and read and have abt gone through my butterscotch disks....reading,enjoying and smiling....chomping away...smiling and just having the most fun!
Wings...thank you for your generous help and allowing us to be part of the wonderful noodle fest. Is that like a restaurant that serves lots of pasta dishes? It sounds awesome...I was thrilled to see the gifts and thank you ever so much...you did a fabulous job! Your pictures are great from this afternoon. What fun it must have been! How abt your DD's grad ceremony? You have had a busy weekend and I am sure it was fun! Congrats to DD!!
nEEsie...you look great,as always,in the pics! Bet you had a fun time and not sure abt the grape powerade but sounds interesting. I think you could make any outing more fun! We seem to have lots in common and bet our stories would make for a fun book/well,the parts that we could tell, anyway! Kidding!
faith...it was hard to wait and I am not the best with surprises as I have to fight the urge to tell things...better as I got older. Love parties and fun things! Thanks for your kind words and thanks to the MI ladies for their assistance-Bonnie helped me with mine and I am so appreciative. The other great ladies did other planning, wrapping and shopping...just so neat! I know Sarah and WonderBoy will be thrilled! Your pics look great!
Amy...so sorry abt more med stuff-enough,already! The bubbles are so neat from Susan and faith...bubble-head me or bobble-head wants to post my magnolia tree. As I have said to you,I see you as a Southern magnolia tree-strong and beautiful flowers that are delicate and yet, sturdy enough to withstand whatever nature delivers to them...You know already that I love magnolias, gardenias and irises! I wish I could take away this stuff and am thankful that you have drs who know how special you are.I know that I am proud to be a Spartan/Gamecock and feel we connect because of them. I am proud to have you as a friend!Tell the T-Bird to behave! Hi to her driver and would love to meet her/awesome lady!
Sahalie...missing you today, friend and all the beach activity for those of us here waiting tonight. Hope that things are OK and that you check-in...sound like a mama, don't I? But,we do miss you and all those awesome games and pics...
Marissa...July won't be that long...I know you are excited!
Margo...great to see you and glad that Ryan had a good weekend. That sounds like such fun with the band and the music. Funny how we go for a few minutes and have such a good time that it just turns into a longer celebration. Those are the fun times...best one that are spontaneous and just evolve. Hope that your Mon went well! I walked almost 4 miles around the creek and the fences! Yippee-Skippy! Good news abt Jacob and glad he is getting so much stronger-by-the day! Hi to Jocelyn, too!
Jas...where are you and our song of the day? Missing you and the song with all the special remembrances and memories attached. I always think,wow-I was in x spot when that was popular...as we had this great jukebox in one of my universities that would play awesome tunes during meals! It was the coolest and now, when I hear The Temps...or 60's tunes...you get the pic. Hope that you had a good Mon!
Susan...cool pics of the bubbler...may I call her that? You and nEEsie would be funny as a team and sure wish you would get-together and visit some of us farther south! Now,we could have some laughs! Thinking of you and thanks for all the kind words and support! Have a great week!
Nicki...loved Audrey Hepburn and what a magnanimous person to dedicate her life to those who were less fortunate. She was beautiful inside and outside-loved her movies, too. Happy Birthday and a special "Moon River"to you,Audrey!
What class and love those names: Audrey and Ava! Now,those two names show class and just hearing the names said puts a big smile on our faces. Hello to Ava and Audrey! Thinking of both of you...much love and happiness!
Hi to Sphynx/Nancy and SusieLoutoo...you look great and bet you had a wonderful time!
Evening walk was wonderful at the NC coast. It just does not get any better with no humidity,no heat and a little wind. Well, there was a nagging mosqito-some Off and Cutter to the rescue;what is a beach/shore without a few pests trying to bug us...no use!
To all those having tests, medical visits and procedures-bearyspecial thoughts are always with you! You are cherished, dear friends and angelic relatives, friends and bears!
Iris/Spartan'72/bearlysane/bearyproud to have super Beach Buddies
Evening beachwalk time for us beach buddies;lovely sun has set and another day has been ours to enjoy...see you tomorrow and have a good Tuesday!

Beach Buddies,
Here is BabyWings my DD - Lacie. College graduation was emotional for me. I was sitting in the bleachers thinking how I remembered her first day of kindergarten and she could barely reach the school bus steps. When she climbed that last step she turned around and smiled at me then waved as if to tell me "mom everything is going to be okay don't worry about me I'll be fine". At graduation we spotted each other in the crowd and she waved at me again just like her first day of school. It melted my heart again.
Shower post up next.
Wings
