Hope you feel better LuAnn. For some reason I have been tired and not up to snuff for the last two days. I can't really say what's wrong, just that I don't feel right. But who the hell remembers what right is. My back aches, my chest aches and my stomach feels off.
I am taking an on-line course to keep my mind busy and at the moment it is plucking my nerves.
My DH had not been drinking since Saturday, but this evening (at 4:00) he sit down to look at the election with his bottle of Crown Royal. I am going to go pick up some meds, eat dinner and go to bed. Maybe tomorrow I will feel better.
Cancer Sucks... for all who didn't know.

Hi everyone, a big THAT SUX to anyone who needs it.
Pinky you knew he would go back to drinking and he is a mean mouthed drunk. When you have your resources in place you will know what to do.
He is not going to change unless something in his life changes. He is happy with the ways things are. He can act like a disgruntled baby and give you what passes for an apology. And do it again. You need to stop the cycle.

{{LuAnn}} so sorry you aren't feeling well and wanting to sleep all the time. Is it still just getting used to the pain meds do you think, or are they too much perhaps? {{hugs}} girlfriend!
BIG THAT SUX to the others who need it and Hope everyone got their vote in or will by closing times!

And that Shirley Hughes!! My goodness what a political gusto she has!! She could kick butt in Political Science class for sure. Hey Shirley, if you are OFF the political thread for a nanosecond and reading this......YOO HOO....HELLO !!!!! I miss you!!
And Harley? How are YOU!? Everybody always wanting to hire you! I think you and Shirley should run for political office down there in NC. Maybe start on the town council. That's where they need some wisdom.
HAHA! You make me laugh. Love your posts. And I also read your "Halloween" post. I was sitting here laughing picturing you and all that candy...I can't believe you didn't give those parents an ear full!
No, I won't go into politics. It's way to dirty and can get very mean. And, one can conjure up many enemies. LOL We will eventually close down those particular thread. Now it time to wait and see.
I see Harley answered you. Yep, she's been working hard at trying to GET work! I love speaking to her on the phone. Good luck Harley! Call me if you get a job.
Diane, maaaaannnnnn I'd be mad as heck. Do publish "that woman's" number. We can block our calls and send messages. Heck, I won't use a shovel. I've got some pretty good knives! Ya know, men to have egos. Sometime things like this strokes their egos. Tell him to grow up!
Wish, you ALWAYS give good advice!
I will NEVER get caught up with all the pages I've missed. So, when I get back I'll just have to start over.
Hope everyone isn't having it too sucky!
I'll be back here very soon. It will be nice reading a few funny posts. Then, of course there are those that need our help getting through this mess whether it be treatment or personal reasons.
Going to get my bath and watch the election returns and hold my breath..LOL

Hey, LuAnn. It's going to be good to get back to normal! Hope you are feeling "okay." It won't be much longer and you'll finally have your son home. We'll have to have a party!

I can't wait! Time isn't passing soon enough. He will be home between Jan 15th and Feb 10th, normally this time of the year time flies by but not this year. These last few months are dragging and I miss him so much! It's ok, as long as he comes home in one piece and not mentally too messed up I'll be happy! I'll be sure to tell you all when and where the party is! I'll find a way to put you all up or for you all to give him a message.
I'm not supposed to tell but his troop is working on trying to get a group photo together with some sort of way to let us know they are supporting all of us in our breast cancer battle. I cried when he asked if we would like that. These guys are fighting for their lives and want to let us know they want to support us.

Man.....LuAnn, if anyone can bring tears, it's you and those kids of yours! What a sweet thought of those guys to do! Too sweet What they do is enough for me Does that mean he'll be in the states sooner than jan 15th? Aren't they here awhile before actually getting home per se?
Always keep him and the guys/gals in my thoughts and prayers of course.
Shirley! Welcome back! What a night....should/could be very interesting. watching and waiting on the returns with everyone else in the country/world! Scary, but interesting!

He will not touch land in the US before 2009, he should get into his assigned location in TX between those dates. He has to debrief and do other required crap which takes about 3 weeks in TX and then he gets 30 days free leave because of his hardship assignment and since his family hasn't been moved yet he will probably get another 11 days. So hopefully I will see him briefly in TX when his unit returns home. I want to be watching those soldiers parading in as they return from a tough job well done. But I will not stay long and let him be with his family. I hope to see him here in Ohio around the February time frame.

I didn't know you were in Ohio! Cool...for some reason I thought you were a southern belle

nope, born in PA and raised there, moved to DC area for a few years, lived in TN, MO, OH, PA, MD, VA as well as a few countries.

Hi everyone! There's some EXTREME SUCKAGE OUT THERE!
Have had so much to catch up with on this thread & didn't want to miss anything.
Yikes, our BITCH Squad Hit List is getting longer every day: LuAnn's unbelievably self-centered DIL who doesn't deserve LuAnn as a MIL or LuAnn's son as a DH. Then there's Jane's dentist, Pinky's hubby when he drinks, LuAnn's auto mechanics, ANYBODY who would steal a purse from any woman & of course, the infamous Becky.
Personally, I would add Diane's husband to the list -- hope you don't mind, Diane; we can go a little easy on him. We'll only run over him once. And I'm not too chuffed with your onco either for allowing that piece of turd to work in the office. Have you told your doc what's going on? She deserves to lose her job for this behavior. In fact, she really should be reported. I work in healthcare myself & my a** would be grass if I came close to pulling something like that! This Becky is seriously lower than whale doo-doo. Sign me up for general mayhem & creative harrassment.
Cripes almighty, I'm glad I come home to 2 cats & a dog and NOT some SO who's acting like an SOB.
THIS ALL SUX!!!!!

P.S. Traci, our thread's founding mother: HUGS!!! If you can't get yourself out of the funk, we'll get out our shovels & dig you out. Kathi

SO LuAnn, did I miss something? Were you an army brat, or was your dh in the service? Didn't know you'd lived in other countries. Cool! Which ones?
LOL @ KAK! Let me know if Traci's in too deep, I'll lend a hand for getting out of that pile!

My husband was a career military and I traveled some of it with him and some of it before I met him. I didn't like my little valley I grew up in and visited DC once and would never believe how beautiful the weather was outside the dreary valley in PA and off I went LOL
0 -
I see, so you've always been a traveler and even a world traveler! Very cool. You've always had gumption then too. I can't imagine having done that as a single person when younger!

HAHAHAHAHAHA...saw the MIL tonight. 3 times in one week--I think that's a record. Anyway, I mentioned that the "infamous Becky" (LOL, Kak!) is still calling. MIL is ready to open her own can of whoop-a$$ on her AND dh--and she doesn't even like me! LOL!!
It's so good to see Miss Shirley is back here with us. I've scanned the political threads from time to time, but I still missed ya, lady!
Pinky: THAT SUCKS about your SO being such a jerk. Do ya think he'd notice if you poured out 1/2 the alcohol in the bottle and replaced it with some other non-alcoholic liquid?
Traci: sorry about your "funk"....I'd rather it was of the "won't-you-take-me-to-FUNKYTOWN" variety....or maybe Grand FUNK Railroad...or some kinky girl FUNK from Rick James! (great, Diane...now you've gone and got that FUNKYTOWN song stuck in your head and won't be able to sleep for all the fanny shaking it causes...)
Rock, my dear: So good to see you here!
My IOS: I realize that my ONE vote may not really mean much in this election, but still expect it to be counted and I'm not entirely certain it will be. We went this afternoon and my name was not in the books like it should be. One of the election officials had to call HQ and give them my vitals and driver's license # to verify that I could fill out a provisional ballot. When she got off the phone, she said, "You haven't voted in a looooooong time, " to which I replied, "Four years?" She had been told it was more like 16 years and that I last voted in a neighboring town--which I never did! I have voted in the same place since I moved here 19 years ago!
Anyway, I filled out the ballot envelope, then went to the booth to do the voting. This year, they had "bubble" ballots a la those #2 pencil required standardized test we all loved so much. We were given black pens, though. If you've ever watched the tv show "Monk", you can sort of get an idea of how my slightly OCD character handled the bubble ballot. Had my chemo-weakened legs not started to give out on me, I might still be there trying to make sure those stinkin' bubbles were filled perfectly with no white spots and no overruns on the edges.
When I was finished with the ballot, I went back to the lady to put it in the envelope. I did my best not to let her see who I voted for (I'm not ashamed or anything, but don't think it's any of her business!" and saw her sort of smirk at it as she handed me the envelope. She gave me a PIN number that matched the one on the envelope and instructions on where to call to make sure my vote was counted. She just put the envelope in a stack. UGH. I'd rather see it going into the box with everyone else's even though I understand why.
While I was there, I counted perhaps 20 voters. FOUR of them also had to fill out provisional ballots and had the same squirrely weirdness with having always voted and always at the same place but their names weren't in the book. So, what is that....20% of people at my polling place having problems with their registration? Ok, maybe it was just a fluke, but that sure seemed like a lot of "screw up" for such a small place. The address they had for my husband was from 15 years ago even though he had corrected it with them before. Makes me wonder if our precinct's results are going to accurately reflect the votes cast. At least my youngest ds (12 years old) thought it was cool to go vote. Oldest ds is angry at me for having him 3 days too late 18 years ago! He won't be 18 until Friday and is so bummed he didn't get to vote this time!
To beat it all, they gave my dh an "I voted" sticker and not me!!!! GRRRRRR
THAT SUCKS, ladies! I wish we could start a "THAT ROCKS" thread and that we'd all have LOTS to say on it.
((((HUGS))))

LuAnn, your son and his buddies are enough to make us cry. How so very sweet. How so sweet for your son to mention your/our disease.
Obama has just been announced by Fox to be our next president.

Holy crap....I forgot the absolute WORST suckiness of the day:
My SIL (one of the NICE ones, not the fruit loop) is having a lumpectomy Friday! No one had told me anything about it--don't want to upset "cancer girl" you know--and my mom accidentally let it slip in an email. I can't even call/email to support her because I'm not supposed to know! She's not yet 40 and my niece is only 5 and nephew is 3. THAT TRULY F*#&#^# SUCKS! Please keep Heidi in your prayers!

Shirley, his buddies know of us because some wonderful ladies on this board sent them some wonderful little care packages for which they were ever so grateful. To find out they came from women that never met me and battling cancer just made the goodie package that much sweeter!

Diane, ARE YOU SH*TTING ME?? Voting problems & finding out that your SIL is going to have a lumpectomy, in the same day??!! Oh, that's just waaaaaayyyyy too much suckage for anyone to deal with.
I heard that a bunch of states were sending the wrong lists to the wrong polling places, which then meant that all these people had similar experiences to yours.
Heidi will definitely be in my prayers. Kathi

Hi y'all,
I have been reading and not posting because I am back to feeling like poo on a stick. Thanks to Nicki we all know what that looks like - lol.
{{{Diane}}} I had to come out to put my 2 cents worth in. I would send the hag the obituaries every day for about a month with huge magic marker heading....I'M STILL NOT IN THEM YET HAG! You could add to the thrill by addressing the envelope (going to the doctor's office of course) ATTN: BECKY - HUSBAND STALKER.
Then you tape your dh's thang to his leg while he is asleep with a warning that next time it will be superglue.
Or, as others have mentioned, you could text her in the night with his phone. Mess with her mind, letting her know he is no longer interested.
Wow, I had no idea how vindictive I could be when I feel like crap all the time. Diane's situation just ticked me off. Another round of Taxol tomorrow - wah!
A big THAT SUX to all who need it.
Love,
~Bliss

How many different ways are there to say Barack Obama won the election? I agree that history has been made and that it is newsworthy, but I'm tempted to watch Mickey Mouse because every single station on TV is covering the election. Those that aren't are running infomertials. I can't find any local news on any of the stations. What would they have to talk about today if there were no election yesterday?
0 -
Oh, they always find some sort of sad story to report on.
And yes, I got so freaking fed up with the election results (not who won) but just every channel, that I switched to the one that covers how to fix your home and remodel and such at 5:30 this morning. THEY WERE infomercials, so I turned it right off and went back to bed! Now I feel better and have left it off all morning!
{{Bliss}} Good luck on your Tx tomorrow
and a BIG THAT SUX to those who need! Bliss's ideas sound like a few good ones too!

Small potatoes I know, but I have a pounding headache today!

I have an antenna and very limited channels. Last night I put in a movie (The Mists of Avalon) and watched it instead of the election returns. Then this morning when I was getting ready for work it was still going on I watched it long enough to see the local winners then I had another movie playing while I was showering and eating breakfast.

{{CMB}} so sorry about the headache THAT SUX on a sunny day
Sheila, I'd rather turn it off, then have the background noise. I'm thinking chemo did something to my nose and ears, b/c I hate background noise now and still can't take some smells. Just overpowering, where before chemo none of that bothered me and I'd even crank up the juice to clean to. OF course after joining GSG's thread, I'm no longer allowed to clean, so that has helped
