OWWW, Harley! I hope you don't end up with a black eye!!! The OnStar worked wonderfully. The fidelity is really good. I have some calling minutes with it for hands-free phone calls & that's also incredibly clear & easy these days. I read something, tho', that says even hands-free calls distract one from the actual business of driving, so I'll keep that in mind.
Nancy, I'm with Otter & everyone else. I just cannot believe how rude everyone in that incident was to you. Jeez! That's the kind of thing that makes you wonder if someone stuck a sign on your back without your knowledge that says "Will Pay You to Kick Me," or something. I know people are stressed because of the economy & all, but crapping all over customers is hardly the way to improve the economic situation. I mean, I wouldn't want to shop there ever again. At the very least, I'd be wondering if there are pollutants in the store air ducts or something that are affecting everybody's mood!
My IOS today is that it turns out I may have to pay for a new tire after all. The warranty specs on tires have so many exclusions that I am wondering if there are any circumstances in which they'll actually pay for a replacement. Oh, well. I'll check my car insurance just in case. The SOI is that I have a loaner car for as long as I need it, and they found a few other small things to fix that are under the warranty. And they wash & vacuum the car for you before you get it back. Anybody who'll vacuum anything for me is okay in my book...
Good grief & a big SUCKY WUCKY for those who need it.

WhaSux??
Just marking my spot----my only IOS is also an SOI! Our dinner club was last nite. The menu was French & it was the most fantastic dinner we have done to date---baked french onion soup, salad with pears & cheese, Beef bourguignon & crepe suzettes ALL made from scratch & HEAVENLY...but SO rich---I told dh that after a meal like that I don't think ppl are supposed to get up & move the next day---I have a food hangover!! LOLOL yeah-I know-call the WAHmbulence!
A big THAT SUX to all the ppl dealing with morons! (be they family, professionals, clerks or tires)
Be well & stay strong

Nancy,
The grocery store incident is just awful. I think it is time for the shovels to come out. What a bunch of rude women. Unbelievable!!!!!! Just tell us where and when. That is horrendous.

Nancy and MissShapen- Whereabouts in VA are you all? I'm going down to see my boys for Christmas next week. They live in Virginia Beach. I'll bring my shovel down with me and bean that nasty shopping clerk.
0 -
Jane, I used to live in Virginia Beach, but I moved to the other side of the state. Darn! I will go with you to club the biznatch! Are we allowed to say that? ;-)

Miss S sorry to hear about your awful ftip to the stor. I don't think they make clerks ke they used to. My dil has been playing email tag with me bottom line she is not going to let me see my boys. I'm having a pretty hard time with this one. I really misjudged her an dhtought I could help her our but I guess trash is trash no matter how you wrap it.....

Mega Hugs to everyone for agreeing that the grocery clerk was a nincompoop, aka expletive deleted... It was at a Giant store, in Alexandria. I do not often go there, as it is not on my usual route, but that day it was the more convenient place to stop for groceries. I do know the head of Giant Eagle, having lived in Pittsburgh for over 30 years - our sons went to school together years ago. I was glad to have this forum to vent and rant and rave and thanks again for your support.
Tomorrow I get the re excision for additional clear margins. I am now on no food or drink and do not have to report to the surgery center until 12 noon... want to see a mostly bald, chemo brain challenged, anxious, stressed, nervous "cancer terrorist"...??? My group of buddies I met at chemo call ourselves terrorists, and I hope it does not get me bumped off of here.
Everyone, THAT SUCKS, as needed. Hugs and Blessings, Nancy

luann, i'm so so sorry that you're hurting so much. seems to me that dil is trying to escape from the fact that her husband will be home soon. you're joy at having your son home again has been ruined by this little twit. i hope you don't mind me calling the mother of your grandsons a twit but that's what she is. she clearly liked being taken care of and not having her husband there. sounds like a one way street to me. hopefully once your son is back he can do something about custody. don't give up...you will see those boys again and soon. hugs maria

I know this is not much of a b*tch but I am required to use the mail order pharmacy for maintenance medicine. My husband is on 2 different blood pressure medicines and I mailed in the new prescription indicating I needed it express shipment along with a check made out with the correct amount for the medicines and included the fee for express delivery 2 weeks ago. I have been checking the web site daily to see if the order was received and being filled for the past week. Monday it said that the order was being processed, this morning it said that the order was being shipped USPS!!! That is not express delivery, the last time it was shipped USPS it took 10 days to get here. I immediately called the customer service number to find out why it was not shipped as requested, she did not have an answer for me but was sending an urgent message to shipping to try and get the package changed from USPS to UPS express before it was sent to the post office. I gave them my phone number to call if there were any questions. The website has not been updated with the change I will wait and see if they were able to change the ship method.
LuAnn I am sorry that you are hurting. When I left my first husband 23 yrs ago I tried to keep my son in contact with his grandmother but it was like she didn't care if she saw him or not. I took him to see her over Thanksgiving weekend and asked her to call and let me know when would be a good time to come for Christmas holidays and she never called. My first husband eventually gave up his parental rights and I stopped trying to take my son to see his grandmother. They didn't seem to care about seeing him. I am praying that when your son returns, he will get custody of the boys and you will be able to help take care of them.

Hi everyone...a BIG that sux to anyone who needs it...LuAnn especially - I know this is a very stressful thing and I admire your ability to keep your composure with the DIL.
Nancy, you know where we're going one of these weekends...back to that Giant! I'm gonna give that casier something to really cry about! grrrrrrr! I don't care if you were nasty about it...it never should have come down to asking twice or trying to explain. People are just rude and lazy anymore!
Felicia ~ Step back darling...talking about hating the Eagles? I was counting on your boys kicking Dallas to the curb last week (sorry Traci!) and they let me down? I expect the Redskins and the Eagles to lose these days...but the Giants caved when we needed them the most!
My IOS...pain, pain and more pain. I am so over waking up every day stiff, tired and in pain. Then I climb into bed every night with it 10x's worse. It's gotten so bad even my darvocet isn't working. WTF? My hip and right leg hurt most nights so bad I have trouble getting to sleep and never stay asleep. I know my ankle is in bad shape (getting a new MRI on that) but the rest of this crap sucks just as bad. Back pain, Hip pain, Rib pain...blah, blah, blah. I am assuming the Herceptin is at the root of this, I also get a rash after each infusion, have headaches constantly and let's just say the plumbing isn't working right either! In reality it could be so much worse and most days I just try to shut up and deal but today is one of those days where I just want to make it all STOP!
Thanks in advance for letting me be a whiner...I so try to do it at home but needed it bad

Bonnie - So sorry you are in pain! Have you let your doc know that the darvocet isn't working? If he/she can't help get you feeling better, perhaps a pain management doc is the route to try? And about the Eagles - you know they are my adopted team (I really like Donnovan McNabb and oh-so loved Buddy Ryan and Randal Cunningham back in the day!!), but they beat Big Blue last week which really, really hurt. Yeah, they (Giants) have lots of non-football stuff going on, but they are falling apart at the seams. And that they lost to the Cowboys?!? My family is still calling and texting me rubbing it in (sorry Traci! - Hope you had fun at the game, though; I tried to look for you in the crowd!)
Nancy - all the best with your surgery. Hoping it is uneventful and all that. Please check in to let us know how you are as soon as you can - y'know how we worry!
LuAnn - Sorry you are dealing with family drama. I know you miss your boys - you are such a big part of their day-to-day that you know they miss you, too! Doesn't make it easier, I know, but I just wanted to send you a big ol' cyber hug and let you know I was thinking of you...
Sheila - sucks that the meds weren't sent express like you requested. Bet you a buck someone mis-read it. Bet they didn't mis-read your check, though! Hope you get them sooner rather than later...
Jane - hope you are feeling better. Enjoy your trip!
A warm hello and a hearty "That sucks!" to all who need it today...

Hi. Marking my spot.... I have seen all that has been going on and and people just have to use their heads and their hearts. If you ask for extra bags, there has to be a reason. Doesnt matter what the reason is, a request has been made and should be honoured. Whatever happened to customer SERVICE? The customer is aways right!!!! She should be so upset by her BAD Personality that she needs a break to recoup. You should be apologized to. In most stores someone will carry your bags to your car for you.
People are misbehaving in general.
But people have forgotten how to be courteous to each other. The younger generation feels that the world owes them a job so they can behave rudely to customers. They will have to learn and they only way is to lose a couple of jobs.
Jane I hope you have a lovely trip.
Sheila make sure you get what you paid for. Yell if you dont.

Mega HUGS (((( bonnie ))) - pain is one 4 letter words that needs to be Banned. Also, LuAnn, Wish, Sheila, kes, Miss, Jane and everyone else I may have missed -- gentle hugs for each of you.
Surgery went very well. They had to do ANOTHER mammo before, but no wires or dye injections. I did not even need a pain pill last night and slept 6 hours straight thru.
Today I go off for my first Herceptin only tx. This will be every 3 weeks till the end of time, or August, which seems like the end of time right now. Thank goodness for the van pool ride as I am in NO mood to fight traffic.
My son and dil will be going to her parents in Florida on Christmas Day, so they invited me over for Christmas Eve to exchange gifts. I suggested early in the day, like 1:00 and they agreed. I will not mention what I got for them, in case they are "reading"... lol.
Let's also ban bad weather, nasty cashiers, idiot relatives, flat tires, slow mail orders, colds and flu, and other things that we just DO NOT need. Or at least get out the shovels and do a cyber shovelling out. Anyone know how to do a "shovel" on here? I cannot post pictures, but I do have this big snow shovel with sides on it and will gladly loan it to anyone who needs.
HUGS, nancy

I will continue the saga of the mail order prescription screw up. I called back at 3:30 yesterday to verify how the prescriptions were shipped and you guessed it, still by snail mail. The customer service girl I spoke to said that there would be a refund for the amount over the prescription cost mailed to me separate from the order. I said I don't care about the refund, I included the extra to cover the cost of express delivery because my husband needed the pills by the weekend. She said you shouldn't have waited to the last minute to order it. I told her then that I had run out of heating oil for my house and it was either stay warm and go without meds or freeze and get meds. After I argued with her for 10 minutes she asked if I wanted to speak to a supervisor and put me on hold. I was on hold for about 5 minutes while she was bringing the supervisor up to speed on my dilema. The supervisor was very understanding of my dilema and said that somebody dropped the ball on their end and he read all the notes about my call in the morning trying to get the ship method changed and couldn't understand why it wasn't changed before they went to the post office 30 minutes after I called. He then said he would put on my account a free upgrade to express delivery for my next prescription order. After being on the phone about 30 minutes I think I finally got through why I was so upset. So my ISO turned into somewhat of an SOI. I was able to call the doctors office and get some samples to hopefully fill in until the meds get here, unless they get lost in the Christmas mail rush.
No really bad weather here, just cool and rainy for the past 3 days, possible mtn snow on Monday (mtns are 15 miles north of me). Although I would like to get a nice dusting of snow for Christmas, nothing to last long.
Sheila

Well, sheila, I'll gladly send the 10+ inches they are calling for here! You can have the white Christmas, I don't one this year, as we'll be traveling in it and it's even worse snow counts up north
Nancy, so glad the surgery went okay and you're feeling well today. Good luck with the tx today, hope that goes equally as well!
{{Bonnie}} I missed your post, so I'll say a prayer now that you've gotten a remedy to reduce the pain. Are you seeing anyone at a pain clinic? I hear they are really helpful when docs can figure out the wherewithalls of pain management. Hope you are getting major relief soon!

Wish, I said dusting not completly snowed in. If we even get a small dusting here in my area of NC they call school off, unless you live in the high country then it takes 3 inches and ice to call school off.
0 -
Oh heck~ I'd gladly share it all with you!
My dd is in N.C, so she laughs at the school closings also.
Last time school was closed it was for 10 inches. Rarely happens though, b/c after 5 snow days or something they have to make them up at the end of the year, so often times, rather than close them, they are put on a 2hour delay and can still consider that a school day. That way the plows have been out and all is well in town. Out of town though, many have plows on one of their vehicles this time of year, or they'd not get out of their yards/ road to get to town/work/school.

Forgot to mention, the last time we had that 10 inches (2 week ago or so) I had to drive to an U/S before our road or drive were plowed. NOw that was intersting! I live on a busy road, but they won't do overtime any more with the guys, so it was an interesting ride, plowing snow with my old caddy

Hi All,
Northern Wisconsin does not have much snow but school was cancelled yesterday because the bus fuel turned to gel. I had a house full of girls squealing with delight.
I'm not sure if this is the place to post a little story, but her goes...
The evening after my final chemo I received a call from a friend. It started out well, she asked how I was feeling (I felt cruddy) and if I needed anything. Sounds good, right? Then she starts telling me how my 10 year old daughter "is up to her old tricks" bullying her child. What the heck!!! I just finished chemo, trying not to barf and she's ragging at me about something that was dealt with at school! It turned out that my darling was not involved in the incident but the mother was mad at ME anyway! Can you imagine! I have no idea what I could possibly say to this woman when I see her. Nothing polite comes to mind. The womans daughter also told my daughter "your mom is sick and she's going to die". We try to protect our kids from the seriousness of our illnesses but we cannot protect them from stupid comments from class mates. I sort of want to tell the kid I don't like her, but then I might get another phone call... at least it won't be after chemo because I am done.

see, this is why we have ignorant people running around in dr.s offices, grocery stores, etc...because dumba**es like Sarah's "friend" reproduce and then raise their kids to be just as rude and ignorant...
So, So, sorry Sarah...God Bless you for biting your tongue on the phone. I don't think I would have...
Wish - Felicia and Nan...Thanks. Fortunately I had some dilauded left from my blm in April. It didn't take me back down to zero but it did let me get some sleep last night...I made sure there was no contraindications with my other meds just to be safe. Hopefully the ONC won't give me a hard time about self medicating...but I can't get in to see her until next Friday so I had to do something. I researched Herceptin and many of the strange things I've had going on can be side effects from that - except the itchy skin thing, have no idea what that's about- but everything else seems to be related to the Herceptin so I'll talk to ONC about it next week.
Hi to Diane, Harley, Sue, dream, miss, lvtwo...and anyone else I met...lunch is almost over so I think I'll surf around a few more...

I MISSED YOU GUYS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! Miss S....that was a great picture of I miss you to Nikki!! Love it!!
Sorry about all the crap going on but thank you so much for all the laughs!!!! It always amazes me how y'all can have so much suckiness and yet still say something hilarious!!! I had so much fun catching up on all the threads.
I'm at work so can't stay long but did want to catch up.
Sarah, stories like yours and LuAnn's make me momentarily happy I didn't have kids.
Bonnie....Felicia.....HOW 'BOUT THE COWBOYS!!!??? Don't worry...we WILL blow it...just wait.

Well, a big, that sucks for me today. Man, scared the dickens outta me too. Suddenly this morning my heart started racing and I mean really pumping fast, for no apparent reason. Waited for about 20 minutes then decided better tell dh........then 10 minutes later went to emerg. They were wonderful there. ECG showed no change since the last one in 07. Enzymes normal. Did a thyroid test too that will take a few days. It had slowed to 90 some beats per minute by the time I got there but I swear I was easily doing over 200 beats per minute!! Dr. said if it happens again come in ASAP and they'll hook me up right away. Praying it's a one off.
Sorry to go on but with so much bigger suckiness going on. Just feels better to tell you.
