Thanks Sharon....I hope I don't regret waiting for monday instead of taking her in last friday
0 -
Wish, Are you sure you want to/should go by yourself?
Sue, you look totally different without the fedora!
IOS - still dealing with the cellulitis. It's getting better, but slowly.

Here's to a speedier recovery Jane. LE sucks doesn't it?
Wish, no regrets about not going in on Fri. It likely would have changed nothing. Other than perhaps you'd not have had to worry all weekend. Call them first thing in the morning. Whatever it is you'll be able to deal with it. It's amazing sometimes how we can surprise ourselves that way. Lets just assume it's something fixable.

Hugs to you wish....we do love our animal babies. AND, it's so worth it.
Jane, different in a good way? Or.....

Less gansterish I'd say` You look more approachable? Oh, what do I know...always hated hats till last winter when I found out I hated them less than wigs!
Thanks again ladies. Sharon, I'm just worried now if maybe....hoping its an infection rather than cancer growing. Not sure how quickly thyroid nodules grow, if that should be it. I did some searhching, and there's no way we afford over $1000 for iodine tx and she's like a rattler even seeing my tube of chapstick or lotion. ONE time, years ago, I tried to neosporin or something the doc suggested when her excema got bad. SHE hates any thing that smells. wouldn't come near me for 2 days after each chemo tx. Anyway....just waiting..something NONE of us like any more hey?

Just remember Wish,if it is indeed an absess they do eventually break and drain on their own one way or the other. Yikes, what if you have to pill her with antibiotics???? Better get out the full body armour.
0 -
I tell you, i'd have to take her to the vet to do it. She's is a great patient there. They've given her many steriod shots ove the years when the excema gets out of control, and she' lays so nicely for them. Even laying still during the exam. It's weird. Like she trusts them more than me
It's about the size of my thumb up from the first knuckle as far as I can tell.:(

Kind of like kids. Sometimes they behave like bohemians at home and angels when they are out. (No offence intended to any bohemians:))

I just wanted to add my experience with my fur babies and feline acne. My vet said it is from eating or drinking out of plastic dishes. I switched from plastic and the acne completely went away. I made the mistake of feeding them on plastic coated paper plates and it came back. I switched again and they are fine again. It was quite remarkable to me.

Oh yes, I had that problem with an all white cat similar to your pic many years ago so I knew never to use plastic. Theirs are ceramic and they use a very heavy glass for their water. Can't be tipped without a lot of trouble. My cats and dd's both use a glass to drink from
Bohemias, heathens, Neanderthals all used in the past

I can't believe it.......when I logged in today, I hit the "active topics" as is my usual routine. I went through several pages and posted here or there. Then, I went to find this thread and guess what? It was nowhere in the 10 pages of active topics! I sure hope that means the suckiness is at an all-time low!
I have been away from the boards since shortly after Christmas. There are so many pages here that I missed and I have over 1200 emails in my inbox! Sheesh! Let me say a hearty, "That sucks!" to all and welcome to the newcomers.
We're still keeping our little boat afloat here, although dh hasn't found another job yet. We did get a letter from our (mortgage) bank telling us they'd referred our acccount to an attorney for foreclosure proceedings. This would be the same bank that referred us to their agent to come up with a workout plan. Dh called the attorney and they told us they would be finished foreclosing by the time we got an answer about the workout plan??!?!?! SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE. Long story short: we found an attorney at legal aid that is willing to take us on even though they are extremely backed up right now and not taking on any more clients. WHEW. Dh meets with them on Wednesday. Please pray for us that the legal aid attorney has some good news for us! What a mess...
We did have a little experience with wildlife last week. Ds #3 and I were sitting in the living room when something whooshed by our heads. The cats came screaming by and got whatever it was cornered in the dining room. We thought it was another bird that had come down through the chimney (we've had a couple in the past). DS runs for the butterfly net (funny how you get a specialized tool kit to deal with this sort of thing....our piano bench wasn't handy at the time but the mother-in-law gave us a new pancake flipper for Christmas that should prove useful!) and heads to the dining room where big kitty seems to have clobbered the little dear. Ds raises the net, gets a better look.........then SQUEALS like a girl and runs!! OMG! So, Ds #2 calls him a wimp and heads for the corner. Three words I hope I never hear again: "IT'S A BAT!!" Ds decided that it was dead, however, and set about retrieving it with the net. Halfway through this ordeal, the "dead" bat starts chirping angrily at Ds which makes us all laugh.........until.....the blasted rat with wings comes to its senses and starts flying around the house at warp speed! I was screaming and covering my (bald) head, lest it swoop too closely and become entangled in the stubble. When it headed for the kitchen, I headed for the stairs to go hide in my room. YIKES! In the end, the boys were laughing so hard at the situation (and their clearly wimpy and insane mother's reaction) that it took quite a while to capture the little demon and get it outside. UCK...bats.............I prefer mice, TYVM!
((((HUGS)))) to all! I missed you!
Diane

Too funny Bad. Sorry to chuckle at your unfortunate bat experience. They are a little scarey but at least they eat mosquitoes. Mice on the other hand don't even have that as a redeeming quality.
Good luck with Weds. meeting. Lets hope some good things start to happen this new year.

Bats! I was working in a drs office prob about 10 years ago now and I was sitting in our break room eating my lunch. I felt something brush against my neck and I thought it was a bug or something. I went to brush it off and a bat landed in the middle of the table. The doctor had to chase it through the office and kill it. Then they looked at my neck and it looked like I had either been bitten or scratched. I called the local infection control doc who told me I had to get the bat tested for rabies. OF COURSE, the bat had rabies. I think I am the only person in my county ever to be bitten by a rabid bat. I had to get the rabies injections which, by the way, go by the person's weight and that was before I had my gastric bypass.
I don't like critters.

Can't say as I blame you for not liking critters Jane! ick

Diane - that was a hoot!! "Entangled in the stubble"! This was my first day back to school after this loooong vacation and your bat tale was just what I needed to perk up my sagging spirits!

Well, I for one appreciate bats OUTSIDE that is! Love that one of our neighbors is so dingy he won't listen to me about how to keep the 80-100 out of his attic~ They keep gettng in every spring....and I enjoy that we've never had problems with skitteres b/c of it!
Then again, I don't have them in MY house, so I can appreciate it from our yard counting them as they come out of chimney, and eaves. Quite a spectacle
Enjoying the chuckles of your men saving the homestead and you though, Diane! Too funny!

OH! Shoot...forgot to post this... I swear, each of you, with crappy days or not, will smile at this video...simply worth it!

Hey WhaSux???
My personal suckage is at an all time low! But hugs & THAT SUX to all who need it!
OK-- I once refused to buy a lovely little house that was VERY cheap cuz there was a dead bat in the landing of the second floor--that being said, I have learned a lot about them since & find them absolutely fascinating!!!!! They do NOT get into your hair! It is believed that the whole myth was originated when a bat may have become entangled in someone's hair when their head was being swarmed by gnats or some other flying bug. Otherwise their sonar is so sensitive it is unlikely! I have hung a bat house on my house, but have not had any luck attracting them........interesting natutral mosquito eaters!!
Now...remember that 80% of what I say is teasing--you gotta watch for the serious 20% & I am just naturally devil's advocate so I MUST defend the little creepy critters!! LOL
Be well & stay strong

ohh-forgot--WELCOME back, Diane!!! Missed you!

Wish, how did the vet appt. go?

I am hesitant to post that I have seen no more mice, but let's put that as an SOI for now. The bat story made me laugh also, sorry about that. Good luck Diane with the attorney. Jane, how horrible to have to get rabies shots. The adventures in our lives... my husband used to say I never lacked for conversational material -- it fell in my lap.
Sunday I was invited to a bingo friend's home to see her 6 trees and villages her husband puts up. It was better than any display I have seen in years - and she had food also. Thursday I go for my next Herceptin, but otherwise it is very boring and quiet here. Hugs and Blessings, Nancy

Marking my spot and sending hugs to all...my surgery is tomorrow (ovaries coming out) so I hope to check back in with you all on Thursday or Friday.
GO EAGLES!!
