Iowaue looking great! Love that tractor could use it to mow my nine acres! Ours is really old and blue. I don't use it but i would if it was pink!

joan888 love that your hair isn't curling up you are sooooo lucky. Mine is very curly and poofy. The curls make it seem shorter than it is too.

I suppose I should join this thread since I'm officially PFC now.  :)

I have not taken a single picture of my (mostly) bald head theough the entire process.  I'd say that I've lost 80-90% of my hair but I still have a fine covering of baby hair over my entire head.  Today is Day 4 past TCH #6.

I'm debating on whether to buy a shorter wig or just hang in there with my longer wigs through summer.  But I'm really tired of running around with my longer wigs on.

My hair is usually pretty curly so I can hardly wait to see how curly my chemo hair comes back...

Love the pink John Deere!!!  You look great in the pic!

You all look fabulous!!!  I love the hair pics.  I tried to change my profile pic, but Facebook won't let me download my own pic on the computer!  Ugh!  I'll figure it out.

I've had my hair trimmed 3 times.  Last week I had my back cut and stacked to look like an A-line frame.  I also had it colored a dark brown with red tones.  I look sort of dorky with it blown straight and in my face, so I leave my bangs and pull the rest back in a head band.  Or I flip it on the side, when I leave it down.  I put part of it in 2 ponytails (about 2 inches long) for a joke last week!

I got some really great hair products from my hair dresser. She uses the Onesta products, so I got the shampoo, conditioner and styling lotion.  I also got Moroccan Oil to mix with the lotion.  It makes my hair super soft.  :)

pejkug I too didn't take photos of my bald head till 5.5 weeks PFC. I did have photos of my wig and scarf head though. I recommend you start though. You don't have to post them but at least you will have them. If you decide later you don't want them you can always toss them out. I know I wish I took pictures after my BMX and expander process. I can never go back and take those.

char02:  I had a keratin treatment to straighten my hair..and WOW what a difference it made. I now have bangs to my eyebrows. Prior to that I was a curly orphan annie mess. It was horrible. My hair is now straight and so so soft. I so absolutely recommend it to anyone who does not like their curls. I went to a stylist who was a cancer survivor herself and said she spoke with her onc. who said the straightener was safe.

    I just love it!!!

Oh, that is a great tip njbhwgirl!

Now that my hair is growing in (about an inch long all over, longer on top), the back is starting to curl. As much as I despise short hair on me, I REALLY want to shave the back & sides super-short to get the curls off. I keep seeing women with much shorter hair than me going topless, but I will stick w/a wig until my short hair isn't so hideous.

I agree, I didn't take a picture until 17 weeks PFC and wish I had taken some earlier.  Well, I did take 1 right after the buzz cut when chemo started, but none PFC to track progression.

How come I can't see the pink tractor??  Maybe my silly work fire wall is blocking it?

I've been going topless a little bit and its nice.  I'm not quite ready to do it full time yet and its been cooler here lately, so that is okay.  Tomorrow have onc follow up and Herceptin, will go topless all day, but Thursday 5th grade trip to Phili, I will wear wig.

Usually my bangs grow fast, but in 6 months they are hardly there??? But I am glad to have hair. Everyone loves it and it makes me want to keep it short and dark

I am not done with chemo yet, but love reading this thread to see what I have to look forward too.  I was hoping the hair would grow a little faster.  I always wanted short hair, but was too chicken to do it, now I am gonna get to find out lol!  Love the pic of the tractor and you look great Iowa Sue

njbhwgirl - my cousin is my stylist - and she is planning to use the keratin on my hair soon.  But she said that I need more growth first.  How long is your hair?  I'm dying to get the treatment!!  Would love to see a pic!

Iowasue44, you look great. Are you 44? You look younger.

Joan888, love your haircut. You have some bangs. I am a month behind you and my hair is only going up, up.

My hair is very curly now 8 1/2 months post chemo. I think short and curly hair makes me look chubby on pictures.

Can you see the difference? It's hard for me to tell sometimes...but I feel like there's more on top than there is on sides and back...wonder if this is b/c i cover it all day with scarf / hat?

Yes, my hair started to grow while I had Taxol. I think it's pretty common, and my Onc told me it should.

    Congratulations! Smile

Love the Pink Tractor.  I use "Alra" products reasonably priced and I can purchase online.  Found them through another BC sister and masectomy bra store carries it.  It makes hair grow and thick.  Natural products, they also have a natural deoderant.  I use the shampoo and then the lotion to keep scalp from drying out.  I do not need to wash my hair very often.  My hair was not growing until I started using the products last month.

Stilts, I'm getting my hair back on taxol. I was told I could. But my taxol is 4 treatments 3 weeks apart. Tomorrow I go for my third, just one more to go...woohoo. I've got serious stubble going on. Just hope it grows fast.

njbhwgirl I was thinking about the keratin treatment too. I know when I lived on Long Island they had it in my salon and I wanted to get it but they said it wold make my thin hair very flat. Now my hair seems a bit thicker and soooooo curly. I wonder if it would make me look to flat though. How long does your hair need to be?

I have posted my hair progress on here before and I agree it does help to see the growth if you take pictures and compare how far you have come. I started at 4 weeks PFC when I figured the chemo was done and the hair should start even if I could not really see it. Otherwise I was staring at my head in the mirror non stop hoping to see it sprout. I also took pics when I got my TEs. Never took a pic after my bmx of my unreconstructed mess I guess I couldn't but I know my PS did take a pic in the hospital right before surgery and I was thinking of asking him for it. I am going to print out the booby progress chart and bring it to show him. Might be helpful.

slcst12, looks great.  Just had my 14 year old try and take a picture of my head to post, and my camera and battery needs charged.  I just plugged it in, maybe I can get him to help me in about an hour if not tomorrow.  Your growth looks better than mine, by at least a few days.  I don't have much at temples or near forehead.  Show you soon!
