OCDAmy do you feel that the lash boost frommR&F works well? I have lost just about all of my brows, but my lashes are still holding...

Did anybody else's eyebrows grow back lighter than before chemo? Mine seem lighter to me

Tonir24, my eyelashes grew back quickly. They are not as long as before but I hope they get there. Was it the R&F Lashboost? I don't know but I'm going to keep using it. I put it on my eyebrows too

    thanks misty yes

Lovepugs my eyebrows started to grow in lighter too at first. But over time, they eventually filled in. My right side in particular seemed to have gaps and bald spots. But they caught up eventually

DespiteEverything, about how long do you think it took for your eyebrows to get back to normal? I'm debating going to get mine tinted.

i alternate between an aregan oil shampoo ,revita hair stimulating shampoo and shea moisture hair thickener ! Plus take a biotin vitamin

Hi. I just finished 9 of my 12 Taxol doses. I'm starting to feel some very course stubble come in on my head. It's uncomfortable to the touch, or when I put my head down on a pillow to sleep. It's definitely better if I put on a soft cap for bed.

Have any of you ladies gone through this? I was expecting the first hair to come in to be softer and fuzzier.

Toni and OCDAmy, I tried RF lash boost before chemo, and it irritated my skin. I got a lot of redness. I have sensitive skin, so I'm probably a rare case. I ordered some Organys Lash & Brow boosting serum. It got good reviews for having gentle ingredients. I'm 9 days PFC and think I'll wait until at least 14 days before I try it. I still have lashes and brows with a few bald spots. I don't want to stress them with the chemo still trying to attack them.

    lovepugs,

at 9 weeks, I got my first eyebrow waxing/clean up but in the top left corner you can see that there were still bald spots/ thin areas. And each time I got them done thereafter (about every 4 weeks) they looked a little more full than before. ..

Just shy of 12 weeks post treatment. I gave up my wigs about 2 weeks ago. If itโ€™s chilly, I wear a baseball hat but Iโ€™m just over covering my head :) Missing my dark brown hair but grateful that my hair is coming in.

DespiteEverything and Flynn - your hair looks great! I can't wait to have my hair fill in like that. I hope I have as much coverage at 9-12 weeks. My dream is that that by the time the heat of late spring rolls around I'll be happy to go wig-less or wrap-less. I didn't have a problem going out fully smooth, but I'm just not as comfortable with the early growth stubble.

This is 4 weeks post chemo. Iโ€™m pleased. The front top is thin in a three inch area, but it is filling in. As soon as that is done, Iโ€™ll go out hatless. Very anxious to get it dyed.

Hi, I am sorta new to this, #2AC tomorrow. I just noticed tonight my hair is starting to come out with me just running my fingers through it. Is there a place I can have a buzz cut performed at no charge? Things are tight, and I do not own my own trimmer and do really want to do the buzz myself.

I was thinking of a buzz with the BC ribbon etched in the back. Live in Sanford ME, and I think I need to have this done sooner than later.

Would love your ideas --oh, and how can I find some hats?

I believe Great Clips offers a free cut for cancer patients. Check this out and see if this will work for you

FemaleAthlete...you can usually find hats, scarves, etc. at your cancer center and they are free for the patients. That will help out if money is tight. I was able to find some suitable head coverings when I lost my hair.

AgathaNYC- I had that especially when the hair came out- hurt to lay my head on the pillow, like the stubble was poking into my head. I wore a light weight cap even as it was growing out until I had a decent amount of hair and it did go away. I'm 1 year post chemo, just got my curly mop cleaned up today actually! Happy to have the hair- you'll get there!!

vl22 wow. No way my hair will look like that in 2 weeks. I am two weeks post chemo, and I figure I still have a round to fall out Day 14 - 21 before I get any growth. I look slick bald, but I have gray stubble that is hard to see.

FemaleAthlete, my regular hair stylist buzzed my hair for free. Most chemo and radiation centers have free hats and the American Cancer Society has free wigs. The soft seamless caps are ridiculously expensive retail. I feel like places are gouging cancer patients.

Hopefully started Monat to โ€œget my scalp thinking about hair. Last treatment isnโ€™t until Feb. 8th. Wishful thinking perhaps ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ. I suppose it can harm anything.

FemaleAthlete, I didn't own a razor either. I put the word out and in no time I had several friends offer to let me borrow theirs for free. I did it myself and then returned it the next day. No sense paying for it when so many people have them sitting in their closet.

femaleathlet, my hairdresser was ready to cut mine for free. As it happened I spent 6 days in hospital and couldn't get it buzzed but it came out by itself anyway. My hairdresser though trimmed my wig for free. Hopefully you'll have some kindness in your life. Good luck!

4 weeks post final AC My eyelashes are almost gone on the bottom, and thin on top. My eyebrows have thinned and gone grey. I have a 1/2 mm stumble on my head . Not sure if it's grey or Ive gone back to the blonde I was when I was younger. I'm glad I got back on the forum, I'd forgotten about biotin. Thanks ladies

    • I got my first hair cut today in about 11 month and first one since my hair started growing back! Finished chemo (TC) July 11 and finally I was able to get it cut and shaped and it actually looks like my hair was cut this way on purpose instead of the growing back phase. My hairdresser who've I've been going to for years knew exactly what to do to make me feel like me again. I've had it colored twice already since July and I can see me roots are about half an inch now so I am die for another color. For the first time in a very long time I feel almost like me again. I have my exchange surgery on Tuesday so these rocks are coming out finally! Knocking wood as I'm afraid to tempt the gods but today is a good day for me. image

My hair is coming back, very slowly but surely, 3 weeks prior to last chemo. There is one circular area in the front that still doesn't have the new growth, but it seems to be filling in from the back to the front. I cannot wait to get enough back to ditch the chemo caps!

A few more eyebrows fell out today, and I'm nearly eyebrowless. Thank God for Wunderbrow! I haven't lost all of my eyelashes yet, and the ones that I lost are coming back in again, slowly but surely. I still have 3 more rounds of Taxol, so hope that the baby ones don't fall out again.

I am noticing white hairs coming up on my head. The feathers or baby chick look, I have read about. They are just stubble right now but I can see and feel them.

Thanks for mentioning Wunderbrow, I just ordered some from Amazon. I was looking at something for my lashes and I have heard about Lash Boost by Rodan and Fields but $150. Umm, no. I only have a few bottom lashes, pretty sparse on top but mascara helps on top only.

Last chemo is March 20th and hoping by the first week of June I can go capless/wiggless.
