Hi Jules, I been meaning to get on facebook and myspace. Everyone in business wants me too. Thanks for the reminder, I will do it today unless my menopause makes me forget, lol.

Fifish, I will be working on the logos soon. I was think a BCBF logo and a laying down logo. We could put both logos on the shirt with different sayings such as you Laying down for boobies, lay down for breast cancer. Would like another one though, maybe lay down for cancer so it could start the movement in other areas.  Thing is that our logo won't put off other people and the lay down logo could be used for other charities. What do you thik?

REKoz, getting worried about you!!! Miss you and it's been a long time!!

    Hi,

    Love the support here.

I got the AC in the window yesterday. Now I am set for the hot months here in NE Ohio. I have it covered with a towel so as to keep my stinky smoke out of it until I decide to turn it on for the first time. I am going to try to cut down on my addiction to bc.org. Sounds like a good idea to try to take a break from constantly thinking about BC. I do plan on keeping up with this thread.

Surprised NO!! I have run out of money for the month. I have 4 packs left til July 1st. I have averaged at least a pack & 1/2 a day for the last few weeks. I know I am capable of quitting. Lasted 13 days two years ago. I may be joining you on Monday Mary Beth!! How is the chantix going? I have plenty of Lozenges to get me started.

I have some really irrational fears (well I think they are LOL). I am afraid that the increased oxygen will cause trouble. Since my circulatory system is all constricted I worry about the increased blood flow. I need to revisit my stop smoking activities and get ready for next Mon or Tues when I start the lozenges. Hopefully I can sleep a lot more during that first week. I know this body of mine needs to rest and recover.

    Sending Love to All

Well I am up again due to serious hot flash in my freezer bedroom. Didn't get much sleep lst night from it too. So I thought I would reach out whiule I wait for my ativan to kick in.

Cleo,  have the ac on with the fan blowing full force on me, good luck to you. Maybe a vitamin store may help you with the circulatory system. Hope you are feeling better, you sound better.

Jules, love your energy! FB is fun. Can't wait to see the rest of you up there. Love the pictures.

Well going to try to sleep again. Wish me luck!

Janet - asked DH to buy 2nd tower fan for bedroom to prepare for recovery and eventual hot flashes while on Tamoxifen, unfortunately the remote turns on both fans so now I am getting a double whammy of air...have to unplug fan # 2 until I really need it otherwise will freeze my butt off...Sending cool air and sleepy vibes your way :)

Yeah! I got some sleep. The activan really helped out. I think we need tranquilizes to sleep through hot flashes. Cleo and O2B, I don't know if summer has hit you yet but it's going to get really hot here soon and I don't think my cheap wall unit is going to hold up to that kind of heat. Hope you all do better than me.

I have been lonely for quite some time, especially since I moved into my own apartment. My cat is cool but I miss the interaction of dogs. They really do help as I remember I used to talking to my dogs allllll day before the final separation when my ex took over the house and dogs, etc. My cat loves dogs so it would be good for both of us. I looked at the pound and all they have is pit bulls which I can't have one because I may be moving in a year, and it's too hard to move with certain types of dogs. I was thinking about something smaller, doesn't stink, low maintenance, not too barky, smart and lovable. They other day I spent looking at different dogs for 2 hours. Purebreds' usually have health problems, hmmmmmmm. Being an a apartment on the 3rd floor makes me pickier too and I don't want to deal with poops and pee. I do think a dog would be good for me and my cat. Plenty of time, going to wait till I quit smoking first.

Been working on the BC Butt Fondler logo, will have some roughs up soon.

    Peace!

Hey, I just noticed that my front door was unlocked and I locked it last night. Missing a wine glass, weird. I am going to locked my balcony door from now on which I would leave it open for my cat. Maybe I should get a pit, lol. I usually sleep light but last night I did a zonker of pills. Not missing money though. Maybe I should set a boobie trap, I think it is one of my neighbors. This pisses me off!!!

Great your doing well Jules!!! I won't forget about the 4th, party hard and smoke a lot, lol. Will go out with a bang! Glad I am quitting as the summer is hot here and I smoke outside and I think I would faint if I got a hot flash, which by the way smoking increase those flashes. Hope I don't  gain too much weight!!!!

    Hi Janet,

So glad you got some sleep. Hot flashes sound so miserable. That is very scary about someone breaking into your apt. I am glad nothing else was missing and that you and your kitty are ok. I think it is really cool you are thinking about getting a dog. I watched the dog show on tv last week and got in a dog mood. I was looking up dogs and trying to decide what ones I would get if I could. I cannot get a dog but it was fun. A french bulldog and a Newfoundland turned out to be the combo I would get if I chose purebreds. I would go the rescue route or the animal shelter if I were to get a dog. Maybe you could look into rescue sites on line or look up no kill shelters in your area. I imagine there are some in your area.

I have been dreaming so vividly, and yes BC is a large part of my dreams. I smoked 1 1/2 packs again yesterday...in my apt. It stinks in here and with the humidity inside and out it stinks worse.I used to smoke only outside in my previous homes. I started out doing that here. I could not find a "spot" outside that was comfortable now that I have moved into a apt. building. I loved my porches.

I wish we were closer so we could meet and hang out. Being alone is no fun.

REASONS TO BUY A DOG...instead of getting married. If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him, and never say its not quite as good as his mothers...then buy a dog. If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long and wherever you want ...then buy a dog. If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies...then buy a dog.
If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to  warm your feet and who you can push off if he snores...then buy a dog. If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually...then buy a dog.
BUT, on the other hand . . .
If you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness..........

    Hi Athena,

Thank you for recommending those sites. Congratulations big time on quitting smoking!!! I am so glad you are coming out of the extreme stress that the cancer diagnosis caused. So sorry your Mania roared it's head. I have issues with hypomania and am finding that stirred up now that I am dealing with choosing treatment. I just was going to post on the mood disorders thread. I am very concerned about the increased mania symptoms.

Hi Cleo, love the dog thing and yes I thought you were going to say a man, lol. Bought some incense and candles to make my home smeel good though I do smoke outside on my balcony, I know some of the smoke probably comes in. I wish you were closer too as I have been drinking more with my neighbors which isn't a bad thing to do, just I have been drinking too much so I give myself lazy hang over days. That is why I was thinking about getting a dog, really miss them.

Welcome Athena and thanks for the tips. Keep them coming!!!! Could use your strength as there is a few of us quitting soon. Good luck with your Mania, me just plain old blues and loneliness.

Have to have a talk with my neighbor as I know who it was probably climbing my balcony!!!!

Fifish, great seeing your pictures on FB!!!

Athena how was your mood when you were using the patch? I am hoping that by using the lozenges my mood won't be terribly effected.

Janet another nice trick I found for making the apt smell better was to put dryer sheets on the ac filter front. I am hoping to give the lozenges a start tomorrow.

Athena, hate those TE's, hope yours goes well but it passes quick enough.

Cleo, I've got candles and incense burning and my neighbors compliment the smell. But hey do smoke so they don't count, lol. Thanks for the FB push, doing a lot of network. Just got asked out from one of the owners of a school. Maybe one day I won't be alone.

Just borrowed my neighbors dog, I am happy. Really thinking about getting my own.

Fifish, though about you when I was making my corn dog. I am not the cook you are so I just rolled up a weenie in a corn tortilla. Well.......at least it's not as fattening. lol.

    Catching a buzz.

Well hello to you my old friends and welcome to all the new ones! It's been quite awhile since I've posted and I want to thank those of you concerned about my whereabouts. Between being back to work full time and trips out to my parents, I haven't had any time but to read the posts on the boards. So anxious to hear how our dear Pantufus is. She has had such a rough time and if anyone deserves a break it surely is her! My daughter's both went to James Madison Univ. right down the turnpike from her. I believe that her hospital may be in Harrisonburg where the Univ. is located. Being a Long Island girl not too far from NYC, I realize my view might be a tad skewed but still, Harrisonburg is not exactly a burgeoning metropolis!  Beautiful as the scenery is, I worry about the medical care available to her there. I was less then impressed when my oldest developed mono while in college. So Nancy, when you are up to posting again I am most anxious to hear your take on the treatment you are getting. We need to take good care of you!!

I am in the midst of investigating the possiblity of doing DIEP instead of implants. As you know, I have one expander that is way too high due to capsular contracture and had to put off the revision surgery due to my smoking.  When first diagnosed, not only did I not have enough belly fat for both boobs to be done, DIEP was a non option AGAIN because of smoking. I gained close to 15lbs during chemo and when I do quit smoking (along with beginning Aromsin), I will easily gain another 10 plus. I will then have PLENTY of fat to choose from but if I do the DIEP, it's an instant tummy tuck! Plus, I wouln't have to worry about body rejection like the first time and I'd never have to replace implants. I dread abdominal surgery but if I look at the big picture, it may be worth going through. DAMN DECISIONS never end do they? Anyway, in this sick addict mind of mine, I somehow think that knowing I won't have to deal with a rotund body (have had issues with that since I was little), makes the process of quitting more worth it to me. I fully admit to being a mental case over the fact that my weight and not my health is what tips the scales in my giving up the smokes. I just began the process of investigating this and spoke to the nurse in Dr. Allen's (the guy who perfected this surgery) office in the city. Have to see how it plays out insurance wise because I don't have any $ of my own above what insurance pays. Will keep you posted. One must be a non smoker for 6 months which basically means I'd keep these flattened expanders until after the Xmas holidays. But what could be better then having a most natural set of boobs AND being a skinny non smoker???

My daughter is just pulling in the driveway from her sister's bachelorette weekend in the Hamptons. Surprise, she looks just a tad hungover!!  Gotta run now but will be back sooner, I promise. Thanks for listening to all the thoughts in this sicko brain-o-mine!

    Love to you all-

    Ellen

PS. I am on facebook too. Ellen Stapleton Kosloff....anyone want to be my friend???

REEEKKKKKOOOZZZZ!!!! A blast from the past, so happy to hear from you!!!  So you are a busy beaver! Hope you had a great time with your parents. How was the wedding? Weight can be a huge factor, it put me off from quitting. So I think we can be all a little crazy there. Don't know which was is harder, quit smoking or lose 20 lbs, lol. Let me know how it goes with your insurance. My claims got all jacked up and I am having someone straighten them out. God luck with you quitting, keep posting. Much love to you. Added you to my FB.

I will call Pantufas tomorrow. I printed out the posts that she has missed, almost a fricken book! Hope she doesn't have to go to surgery tomorrow so let's wish her good. I worry about her doctors too.

Hi Cleo, not too hungover, didn't drink too much. But tired because I stayed up late. We are going to quit!!!! But I did buy a carton till July 5th. Will try to cut down while I am on Chantix.

Love to you all, hope you had a great Sunday.

Wow, I spend two days in the pool and cocktailing with my neighbors and I miss two pages of posts.  That is awesome!

Jules--I am with you on the heat thing.  I had to mow the lawn yesterday and it was 94 with a heat index of 105...miserable!  Mow for 1/2 hour, jump in the pool, have a drink....mow for another 1/2 hour, jump in the pool, have a drink.....repeat 4 times!  Funny, the lawn looks better in the front yard where I started and not so great in the back yard after 4 breaks (and 4 drinks) lol.

Jules-Janzin--love seeing you both on facebook.  Ellen, I will be looking you up too.  It is cool that we get to see photos of all these lovely ladies and their families.  Makes me feel closer to you.

Ok Janzin, don't MAKE me fly to Colorado to teach you how to cook.  Please please don't tell me you are eating wienies wrapped in a tortilla...unless you topped it with cheese, cilantro mayo and a little salsa....heehee.....That is scary about someone coming in your apartment.  Find out if that was your neighbor right away.  Tell him/her that you have a bunch of one boobed friends on tamoxifen that will come over kick his a$$ if he does it again.  Boy, that would scare anyone! :)

Have a great week ladies.  I am starting to look forward to my quit date.  Let's try this again.

    Hugs,

    Ellie

Cleomoon...THANKYOU soooo much for the dog post!  I've been so incredibly lonely lately...and I have a precious little dog that I have taken for granted lately, so I can't wait to go home and just love on her and snuggle with her!

So all my emotions of fear and anxiety are back...my birthday and vacation are over, and now it's time to make the appointment official...I just have to call.  The lump is still there, still the same size, and either I've gotten accustumed (sp?) to the pain, or it's not painful anymore, but either way it's still there.

The smoking has actually gone back down.  I think I've only smoked one pack over the past 3 days.  And as a matter of fact I still have 4 left in that pack.

Ladies, it's good to see so many posts, and O2B..thank you so much, again, for your personal support!  I have facebook too ladies...I am not very savvy with technology so I can tell you how to find me with my e-mail, but I don't want to post that on here, so if you want it, just send me a private message, and I would LOVE for you to find me, i just have trouble finding others...like I said, I truly suck at all the technology stuff!

    Much Love To All!
