Malleme - Thanks so much for the info, trust me, they are NOT touching her right arm. They even wrote NO BP on her arm, so got that covered. She is in such amazing spirits; were fighting over the laptop

Hi everyone! I see my DH has been updating everyone ~ he is pretty AWESOME
Here are my observations:
Need a craft area, puzzle or rockin Texas holdem game going to kill time while waiting for SNB isotopes to do their thing (2 hours is a LONG time) and I was not prepared
Surgery was only 3 hours (my BS & PS have worked together so much its like a dance in the OR) I was way impressed
Woke up feeling alert and pretty clear minded, I didn't have a pain pump but really didn't need one - I am feeling more of a heavy ache then anything (maybe from the TE's}
Went to the bath room and my pee was blue/green...pretty shocking if you aren't forewarned
After the first two hours up, I found myself fading for 1/2 hour, up an hour, out again...
All in all feeling pretty darn good and happy to be on the other side - anticipation is much worse then the real thing.
Thank you ALL soooo much for all your support, encouragement and love.

Keep those pain meds going, don't wait till you need them. This is healing and comfort time "they don't give out medals for enduring pain." The more you move about, the more you feel pain but you really do need to move around and you feel over all better and stronger.
Wow blue and green pee, must have shocked yet, I forgot about that one.
I'll be on this site today checking any questions just ask, each day was something completely new for me so ask away.
YOur hubby great sounds like you have married a real winner. We can all heard the love in his words that's just wonderful and made my day. Wishing you both a speedy recovery. gentle hugs

: ( I took 5 drags yesterday evening, when I thought I had reached the end of my rope. Snubbed it out pretty quickly. It tasted bad, didn't give me any jolt of pleasure. Maybe I needed that self imposed little relapse to stick with my quitting. Feeling alittle calmer this morning, though I still have the laryngitis. Hope all of you have a nice day.Mary Beth0

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check-in...2nd day home woke up stiff and sore this am, after a few pain pills and walking around the back yard with Hubby's AWESOME help getting around pretty good.

Hi everyone!
This is actually Pat's daughter writing to let you all know that Pantufas is doing well. She's been in the hospital for the past month due to a really bad case of pneumonia. They finally decided to operate on Monday and try to remove as much of the infection as they could, which seems to have done the trick. Fortunately, some good has come of all of it, she's complete in her treatment and she's made it through. She misses you all, and sends her love.
The doctors are hoping she will be able to come home the start of next week, so keep an eye out! I'm sure she'll find some way to drag herself to the computer
Thank you all for helping my mother through this difficult time and keeping her spirits up. My mother speaks of you guys like part of the family (which you are!) It's meant the world to her and I to have the support and guidance of other brave people.

Hi Ladies, wow! Miss a day and a half and look at all the posts. Awesome support, love you all. I had a meeting with my friend and assistant, we did our creative thinking and then got really really drunk. So I spent the day in bed yesterday. She was a little more alive then me because she texted me, "I am so sick, you alive?" I will call Pantufas today, she should of gotten the posts I mailed her so she can catch up. Thanks Bethany for the heads up. Pat is much loved here and we worry about her and miss her much!
o2bhealthy, sounds like you are doing really well. Great to know that you are up and about and not floored with pain. The artist in me says I want blue green pee, lol. Glad I was with you on surgery day on FB. I was working on my computer so I could check on you from time to time. Sounds like you are a go getter so don't forget to rest too. Take care you, hugs! Oh, and tell your hubby he should open up a school for men! Everyone adores him here!

Just a Fun Fact to Know And Tell:::
This is something that I posted on "need a replacement for cigs" I added these up in my head and have not checked them ...but...$6.00 x 30 = 180.00...a nice gift to yourself monthly....alright now...180.00 x 3 = $540.00...wow!~~ a weekend getaway!!!!! Then if I can get DH to quit...2 pks/day..wow...here it comes...that's like..$1,080.00 more per qtr...holy crap...that's a cruise every 3 months!!!!! I am going to check these figures and present them to DH 2nite with a good meal..of course..and see what he thinks...gotta be a good reason to quit..right??? what if we paid for our smokes quarterly...well...not figured into my budget..I think that quarterly would be too hard and give many a good reason to quit!!! Just trying to stay positive about this...July 5th coming in a hurry!!! You'll prob. really hear some crazy sh-t then!!!!...lol.....everybody try to be good today..no excessive drinking JANZIN!!! Morning ladies, had weird dreams last night with chantix. Feeling better about quitting. These flashes are a bitch so maybe the quit smoking will help. I hate being hot too.
Jules, that is a lot of money. Funny I was just thinking about that as I need to start saving. Hope you can get your DH to quit because it is so much easier in a non smoking house. Thanks for the support, will try to cut down on the excessive drinking too.

Ok my friends, I am here to report that I have my bff in this quit smoking ordeal joining me and we have decided that Monday (like in 3 days!) will be our quit date. She lives close to where I work so we will be meeting after work to walk on this beautiful nature park path nearby. If it is raining, which hasn't friggin stopped in G.D. WEEKS (oops, tense just writing about this all
) we will go to the mall. Picking up the phone to call instead of picking up a cig...all those contingencies are being put into place. This will be my FINAL announcement of a quit date on this site! I WILL do this...I HAVE to or I will never have boobs again! Surgery scheduled for July 31...can NOT have nicotine in my system which means no patches either! I'll be here more often now cuz I really need lots of support...I have a history of caving as far as smoking. Gotta break that NOW!Flarbio(just LOVE that nickname!)- Thank you so very much for posting about our beloved Pantafus. I'm guessing she got her smoking habit kicked for her! Now she can come on and guide all of us loose cannons which will increase greatly after the fourth!!! Don't be surprised if our suddenly kind and loving group become a group similar to PMSing at it's worst!
Janet- I know you're on an antidepressant but it's not Effexor right? That drug is amazing for hot flashes! If only they could make a drug like that for quitting smoking. A pill a day and puff (wow was that Freudian or what??) no more cig thoughts!
Jules, your calculating $ is a great tool! Add $2 a pack here in NY. I am going to try to put the cash aside and use it for something special down the road. Like a real low cut, expensive something to show off the cleavage I never had!

Everyone should really add up your cost being a smoker..jeez and I think they are prob. cheapest here in Ga. My son in Phoenix has quit b/c they are 10 bucks there...that would help me too!!!

Hi Rekoz, glad to see you got your quit smokng spirit back. WE WILL MAKE IT THIS TIME!!!! I know some have said I will just quit for today and that worked for them. For me it is quit for good. I am on Citalopram. These hot flashes seem to be getting worse and it's starting to drive me nuts!!! Will talk to my Onc about that, thanks. Glad to see that you still have your sense of humor!
Jules, I never had bad dreams, more like acid dreams but they do get better and I don't mind them. I might bump my date up too. Tired of smoking and paying for it too.
Talk to Pantufas and she is feeling much better. Good news, no lung cancer! She is starting to read the posts that I mailed her and hopefully will be home next week. She sounded great and we laughed on the phone. So happy she is doing better! And.....almost a month without smoking! She plans on staying quit so we all need to get together and do it!

Hello Ladies...well I am tickled pink with the fabulous news of my dear friend O2B, and Pantufas! God is Good!
So...I am setting my quit date for 7/8/9...my roomate's child that I lived with reminded me of the childs joke...why is 6 afraid of 7...because 7 8 9. Hahahahahahahahahahaha...even more of a reason I like that!
Well...I have a date tonight....YIKES! So far I have smoked 2 cigs today...which actually, is one more than I would usually have had by now (I'm trying to wein down before the final cut-off), but my nerves are a little shot. I know this is a BC/stop smoking thread...but you all have become my family...so...Im just sharing life with ya
I'm nervous as hell. This guy is very sweet. He already knows about my lump, the fact that I will be seeing a cancer specialist Tuesday, and actually we have been friends for a long time. When we first met though, he was married, and I was with my long-time partner of 6 years. So over a year later of us both being single, it's kind of exciting for us to be going out on a date. We ended up out on the boat together a few weekends ago...and the evening turned into a hilarious tale...lets just say we were on a 4 wheeler, I was in a bikini, in a thunderstorm! It was a riot! True muddin' if I've ever known it! And trust me...not a very sexy look when you have twigs, and GLOBS of mud stuck in your hair! Ha! Oh yea, and the yellow bikini...completely ruined...but oh such a funny story!

Butterfly, that is soooo awesome!!! Nice to have something to look forward doing all of this. You have been friends a long time so he should know something about you and accepted you just as you are, mud and all! I once met a date while dumpster diving at a metal shop for art, lol. Today I am feeling sad cause I am so addicted to these cigarettes. I scraped up loose change to get a pack. I also have in my mind a plan for tomorrow to sell some CD's, so I can buy a couple of packs of little cigars, to get me to July 1st when I get my next check
I give these nasty things so much control over my life. I sure hope sooner than later I get to the point where I say enough is enough. 0 -

Day 5 for me and not smoking but I really want to. I need to remember the phrase HALT when I get out of whack (hungry, angry, lonely, tired) and apply it to myself. Not just apply, but correct it. That is what I will do- just wish I had something good to eat!
I am so glad to hear that O2B is doing well. Awesome that her DH kept us updated.
I hope all of you are doing well and staying positive. I am not real serene right now, but will try to change that.
