yvonne, it is a little silicone circle, that comes in a little purse.  Cost about 19.00 from Linda the Bra Lady.

I will try to send you the site, they are perfecto.  And we've been laughing our heads off!

They stick on really well, too.

Good evening everyone......I haven't posted for quite a bit cause I went back to work and found my desk piled way too high with things "waiting" for me to take care of....I am a team leader in very busy ICU.

Well today I took some time to try to catch up on all the posts......this is a busy thread. I had my last exchange on my right foob implant on 4/1....it was d/t a hole that opened up and exposed my implant that was placed 3/4.........well I seem to have something in commen with Jax......cause a bunch of new spots/erosions are opening up in the same darn place as before.Went to see PS yesterday as it is almost 4 weeks post op and I had never heard of incisions getting worse after they seemed to be healing FINE for all this time.....my PS kept telling me it was related to the thinning skin under the foob.......I left his office feeling mad and frustrated as he told me since he couldn't see the implant like he could last time we should just wait and let it heal. I sure hope it does heal........but grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......I am so ticked off. I just don't like having extra holes or sore spots.......wish I was tech savy and I would post my pics......maybe I can get my friend to help with that.

((((((((((((((Jax)))))))))))))) my heart goes out to you and your ordeal......I will keep positive thoughts and prayers going out to all of you.

Well enough of my whining for now.....you girls are the best thing to have around if ya are going thru this cr*p. I am glad to hear of the many successes and exchanges that are going on.....gentle hugs to all of you..........

Elaine........I feel your pain.......I lost my first one due to exposure aswell..........and have had 2 exposures this time........but because we are so close to full........she keeps sewing me back up.......so I am keeping fingers crossed that I make it to my may 19th exchange date.......I will keep my fingers crossed for you also......I wonder if you got a bad batch of stitches like I did?

((((((((((Elaine)))))))))))))).......we will get to the other side of this!

    Cheers and hugs to all!

Elaine - Grrr indeed. I am sending skin healing vibes to you, Yvonne and Jax. You all are in my thoughts!!!

DMoore - I am so sorry you are dealing w so much at the same time. I don't know what I would have done w/o my dh around the past year! Hugs my dear! Thank goodness for an early mammogram!

Judy - So well stated. Our old boobs are gone - for good or bad. And the new ones are here to stay (at least I hope they are). That takes a little getting used to!!

Annie and Tracey - DD?!? Oh my goodness, I am currently a C and that is plenty for me. I hope they don't get any bigger as they settle.

Laura - As usual your post says it all. Enjoy those babies!!

    Shopping Stinks.

I have a dinner to attend honoring a Judge I appear before and have a great deal of respect for, attire is a tad under black tie.

Trying to find a proper dress was (is) a bummer, all of the dresses have no sleeves or little straps, I have a very visible u shaped scare under my arm from the SNB and it shows unless I have a sleeve. Would it be so awful to make a dress aimed at someone under 80 that has a sleeve or a jacket.

All done with the rant, I feel better now.

You ladies are funny.  While I am not in the tiny club, I am 5'9, I had to buy a bra recently.  It ended up being a 34DD.  I took it off one day to be more comfortable, and my 2 year old daughter got ahold of it and wore it on her head.  She looked like a little mouse with HUGE ears.  My Mom was here and we laughed our you know whats off.  I have not had my exchange yet and my PS goes 50ccs smaller so we will see what I end up with.  Have a wonderful day!

Hey Bigapple!  Wish I was in NY--for so many reasons--mainly because it's our favorite city in the world--we've visited several times and try to make it an annual trip--but right now because if I lived anywhere nearby  I could make you a dress for your event!  I'm a designer/dressmaker, and I'm so familiar with the plight of women with any issues that make us uncomfortable in strapless/sleeveless dresses.

I did find a great little black dress at Macy's a couple of months ago--haven't had an opportunity to wear it yet, but it's got loose elbow length sleeves and a nice ballet neckline.  It hides my uneven bustline and upper arms very nicely without looking frumpy!  I'm 5'1" and a size 6, so it's not as if I need to hide under volumes of fabric, but like you, my underarms don't even match right now--waiting to get fat grafting done.

The designers need to listen to us and bring back sleeves, but in the meantime, find yourself a good dressmaker or tailor---she'll work wonders for you.

Okay can anyone help me for my appt. next week with my plastic surgeon so I can sound like I am a little educated on what I want.  I like the size of my expanders except up the top (I believe pole) they are still sticking out a lot.

I currently have Silimed, double chambers implant #20788-470  14.8, 12.7 and 5.5 (not sure what all the numbers mean.  The are expanded to 550 and my rib cage is about a 29/30.

My plastic surgeon mainly uses mentor but does also once in a while order Natrelle's.  I would like to keep the projection.

Can anyone help me ??  Sandy you helped me some last time when I had some questions and I really appreciated it.

BigApple... Nordstrom's has some great little black dresses.  I order several online and returning is easy if they do not work.  There are some lovely ones with cap, 3/4 and long sleeves

Jaimieh:  Where did you get your numbers for your expanders?  The Silimed double chamber expander is unique in that it allows for upper and lower pole expansion, so that the PS can determine the desired shape and contour of the breast.  Therefore, the implant choice is predetermined by the shape of the expanders.  Do you have a card with the numbers?  If so, could you tell us if the expanders are the anatomical shape or the textured?  Because the numbers I am coming up with are different than yours.  Let's confirm the numbers and then we can help you with implant sizes.

Also, what is it about the upper pole of the expanders that you are not happy with?  Because this could be altered or augmented by the PS.

Let us know the style number or actual reference number for the expanders, if you have it...

Jaimieh:  I have found a 20789-470 Silimed dual chamber, but not a 20788-470. The 20789-470 has quite different dimensions though.  12.9 width x 9.7 height x 7.0 projection - as compared to your 14.8 x 12.7 x 5.5 dimensions.  I am still researching this for you.

    Ah, ha...found it!

Jaimiah:  I found Silimed Anatomical Expanders Catalogue No. 20719-470.  The dimensions are identical to the ones you posted above:  12.7 width by 14.8 height x 5.5 projection.  These are quite "tall" expanders, which is why you are having some upper pole complaints.  So let's verify WHICH style number you truly have.

If the numbers are correct, make sure your PS did not have some plan in mind for a specific implant, as he had a reason for using the dual chamber expanders.  But here are some which work with your dimensions:

    Mentor High Profile

    550 cc's - 13.6 wide by 5.5 projection

    600 cc's -  13.8 wide by 5.7 projection

Allergan Natrelle Full Profile - Style 20

    550 cc's - 13.5 wide by 5.6 projection

    600 cc's - 13.8 wide by 5.7 projection

You are a very good candidate for an Allergan Style 45 - which gives you a narrower base width but the highest profile available.

Allergan Natrelle Extra Full Profile - Style 45

    550 cc's - 12.4 wide by 6.0 projection

Keep in mind that the higher the profile though, the taller the height - the more upper pole fullness you will get.

BTW: Did your PS overfill because you wanted to be bigger or did he do so to put in a smaller implant and give you "natural droop"?  [I am not exactly sure of the reasoning for this....we get a natural droop anyway as we age and the skin stretches]....but make sure you are on the same page with your PS.

Judy--I love what you wrote.  I'm having moments of intense anxiety over my surgery on Monday, I'm going to think about what you wrote...I find it comforting.  I'm scared of what the girls will look like, scared of the hyster/ooph and that I'm going to wake up a 100 year-old man, instead of a 49 year old woman.  I know that is really stupid, but after this surgery that will be who I am, new girls, no estrogen---I'm kind of a control freak, I like the known, it is why I like math, the answer is either right or wrong.  I think what you've shared is really true, thank you.

Moore Tennis--I can't imagine how difficult it must be to do this with your DH so far away, and someplace new. I admire your courage.  I'm a single mom and I think it would be very hard to have a DH who had to be away.  Even though we can't really hug you, I'm sure most of us are hugging you with our hearts and look forward to your posts.

    Have a great day ladies.

Ladies... by this I mean Deborah and Sandy...lol.. ( Implant question)

I really think I want the Allegran 550's ..45's. Is this too much.? I have an over expanded ( due to size I wanted) Allegran  Expander now. I am  13 wide ( a tiny too wide) and about 5.9 projection.. so really.. Mentor does NOT look right for me..

Sandy, you thought the 450's from Mentor HP would be good.. but they are less projection

So, I look at these 550's from Natrelle.. and they look right..

Any thoughts? Good bad and ugly is aok with me.... ~wink~

I sure missed you gals.. I did have a blast with the babies though... I will post a picture in some lifetime...lol

    ~hugs~

    Whippet Mom and Looper:

Thank you so much, After Bloomies, BCBG et al I only had the patience for a quick loop through Nordstrom and never made it to Macy's I will check out the link and will go to Macy's when I get back. I am off to Dallas for business tomorrow, who knows I hear there is shopping near the hotel, so i could get lucky.

I was very excited I put on one of my sleeveless summer tops from last year and first it looks better now that I am just a C and the implants sit lower than my boobies did, and second the top of the arm hole starts very high under the arm so the U does not show, I am so excited with the prospect of finding summer things I can still wear.

On a funny aside: I was able to keep my nipples, and they survived, my BF and I kept joking that after the BI/MX I might be able to go without a bra and that my nipples might not stick out so much, so like nope, I just tried it and I look like something out of a stag film, only I could go through this and still have to wear a lined bra, and while I can't always feel them, if it gets cold, yup intermittently an issue, i feel like a house with bad wiring, Only me, though my cousin tells me if you touch the back of her arm she feels it on the inside curve of her breast, she jokes that she is all about the cheap thrill now.

I swear I feel like its puberty all over again, just when you get used to your body wham it goes and changes.

    yea Laura

well I guess 1 question is what size do you hope for when your done?

I was thinking you said a C so that why I suggested only the 450 HP mentor

    Remember what Tracey shared...

She's a DD with the 600cc 45 and I was thinking you didn't want to be close to that

I'm a D with 550cc HP mentors and was thinking you didn't want to be that big either but maybe I read wrong or misunderstood something you said a while back.

If you do I say go for it : - )

Newbee here!  Had a bilateral and reconstruction on October 27, 2008.  After had 8 treatments of chemo.  Will get my port out on Friday!  My issue is after 6 months, I feel my implants are too high, I would have thought by now everything would have settled down?  Anyone have any suggestions or can relate to this?

Hi Lisa.. I think you will get help here!

Sandy.. thank you.. I DO NOT GET IT.. I do not think I will....I do not want a D or DD.. just a full C... I do not get.. how I can have a 13 by 5.9 in my TE now.. and am a C... then go down to 450 Mentors and still be this size... as the 450's are smaller than I am now... Do you see why I just will never get it.. LOL

The 550 Allergan are more my size now in the TE...

Laura I wonder about the style 20 Natrelles at 475cc which are 12.6 by 5.5

the 450cc HP are 12.8 by 5.1 (maybe not enough projection for you)

the 500cc HP are 13.2 by 5.3  (I'm thinking you shared you don't want them this wide)

so now I'm leaning towards style 20 475cc

with the style 45's I'm just afraid there could be a small chance you could end up a D

I don't think they would make you a DD

So I guess we will have to ponder this some more... hmmm

Lisa what kind of reconstuction did you have done?

    expanders than later implants

or did you have one of the tissue type

the type where they put implants in right away

Did you ask your PS about this?

some gals when they get CC they go high on them
