I'm in 3rd place now and need votes to win!!! Can my breastcancer.org friends help me!?!?!
It's fast. The site won't allow the link, so go to http://caringbridge.org/visit/lisamittleman (no signing in necessary) Click on the TRUE BLUE LISA link scroll down to me. I'm TRUE BLUE Lisa....NOT TRUE BLUE cancer girl. Look for me in the pink hat. VOTE FOR ME Please!

Hi girls, hope all are well tonight...I'm a D with a 600 as well.
Hey, go for it, Tracey and I are still standing upright. Leaning a little, (jk) but upright.
Kew, I PMd you, I hope you are doing OK, dear. There is no down side to this, as far as I can see so far, and I'm 8 weeks out. Just go to sleep, know your boobs will look beautiful and soft, and yes, you'll still be a beautiful lady when you wake up.
If it helps, I had all the same thoughts!! I was so scared I'd shrivel up and have my face fall into wrinkles like a shar pei. We all have those thoughts.
You'll be fine, you'll be beautiful..........

Just checking in....6 weeks post exchange yesterday. Sleeping on any side I want, I'm not a tummy girl by nature but I could do that if I wanted. Back to work full time. Still a little tired by the time I get home but the days fly by. Hugs are soft and feel nice. Nerve pain is moderately uncomfortable but not anywhere near what it was with TE's. Nips in June. Summer.....here I come.
Thanks again to all the lovely, funny, strong wonderful women on these threads that continue to help me enjoy my days and new body.
xxoo Kathie

Well, girls, it's time to put me on the schedule for (hopefully!) the last time. May 12 is the day! I'm glad the date is so soon, so I'll have less time to get nervous. My foob will get her fipple, and my other (non-cancer) girl will get an implant and slight lift, so she won't be jealous of her artificial-but-bigger sister anymore, LOL! My PS will do a flap for my nipple, and a skin graft from my inner thigh (ouch!!! not looking forward to that!!!) for the aerola. Has anyone else had a graft from there? I wonder how long it will take to heal? I bet it will restrict my mobility for a while? Oh well, if I want to look good by the pool in Vegas, I'd better get with the program!!

I am finally catching up on the posts, work has been nuts, but now I have a 3 day week-end to rest (cleaning toilets, floors, laundry, shopping).
KEW-Karen, keeping you in daily thoughts and prayers. You are an inspiration and know that we are cheering you on. Post as soon as you can after Monday so we know that you are well!
Lisa-Lisa, voted for you, great story of inspiration. I love the tag line on your site, "OF COURSE THEY'RE FAKE, THE REAL ONES TRIED TO KILL ME" If that isn't on a T-shirt it should be, if it is, I want one! I really hope you win!
JAX, hoping you don't come "unglued" and that full healing is around the corner.
Tammy, I don't get the numbers either, but Sandy and Whippetmom seem to be a great resource. I go in for exchange 6/15. I see the PS on 6-1 for consultation. I guarantee that I am consulting with Sandy and WM for advice. I don't want to have to do a revision because I am unhappy with the results. I really want to get this high riding, armpit invading rock off my chest, literally and figuratively. BTW, I fly to Buffalo 2x a year, my daughter, SIL and grandsons live in Jamestown NY. Great city you live in.
Kathie-Sam I am so happy to hear about your satisfaction with the exchange. Will you have about a 3 month interval between exchange and nips? That is a question I have to ask my PS again, but I think he also said about 3 mos for nipple reconstruction after my exchange in June. So I figure about September or October. That will mean about a full year between dx and completion of the reconstruction.
Back later! Jan

Hadn't posted since my meltdown last weekend, thought I'd check in. The new girls are unwrapped and had a post op with my PS. We're both really happy with the results. I got the ok to wear a bra and stay unwrapped. So, went shopping. We had augmented the other side. I have to say, as much as I wanted to send cyber smacks to anyone who would say you're lucky to get a "free boob job" becaue you had Breast Cancer, and as much as I never thought of augmenting until I needed to for the reconstructin, I'm having a lot of fun with my new 36 C. I had always been a large A/small B. I'm loving the new size, and how soft they are. Going from the TE hard turtle shell to a soft silcone is amazing. I'm a long way from sleeping on my stomach, but this is great. We're waiting a bit for the nips. I need a break from being a patient. Want to forget about hospitals/meds/doctors etc for awhile.

KMMD, thank you for the posting, I had been wondering about you. Your insight is so helpful to me as I have another 6 weeks to go before my exchange to get my "free" boob job. I will stand in line behind you like in the airplane movie and we can all line up to give the offender a gentle smack of education. I think I am in the same situation, one TE, one natural. Are you symmetrical after the surgery? I was wondering how that was going to work out. Take care, Jan
0 -
Jan, I'm pretty symmetrical top, bottom, sides, slope of cleavage etc. The "natural" side has a little more projection because of the nipple areolar complex, a little more of a "triangle" shape at the tip if that makes sense. In a bra you can't telll any difference at all. My PS said she didn't want to do it based on our previous conversations, but she could do a little lift of the nipple at the time she creates the nipple on on the reconstructed side, and they would match better. Nipple sensation is important to me and I wanted to keep it in the one breast I had, so I think I'm going to go with a slight asymmetry and droop on that side and not chance it. My breasts were never perfectly symmetrical to begin with, so even though she could make them more that way, I may leave well enough alone. I have a few months to think about it. Would love to lose 10 lbs and that may change how I need things done too.
The wait for the exchange is hard isn't it?

Georgeann ~ I'm not as good at this as Sandy or Deborah but I was just on the Allergan site to check something and thought I would look for you. I don't know how to post the link.
Your expanders - 133Mv 600cc which makes the width 15 and the projection 6.3 but you aren't filled all the way right? Are you happy with the width and projection at this point? The style 20 in Allergan for you would be 600cc 13.8 width and 5.7 in projection and the style 45 would be 600cc 12.8 and 6.1 projection. I don't know how you think that would work but some of it depends on what you do and don't like about your expander size now. If you think you want more volume, more projection, more width etc.
I hope that helps.
Lisa ~ I voted for you within the timeframe too. I hope you win!
Deeds ~ I live in San Diego too!

Georgeanne: [Thanks Deeds for bringing this to our attention!]
In response to your post, you have the Allergan 133MV, which are moderate height, variable projection expanders. Dimensions of the 600's are as follows: 15.0 cm wide x 14.0 cm height x 6.3 cm projection. At 575 cc's, knowing you are at least going to be exchanged to a 600 cc implant and with your ribcage dimensions, you are at a "C" cup. Are you happy with the size of the expanders now? This is key - if you are happy with them and they look good on your frame, then you tell your PS you want to stay within this size range. The problem will be keeping your projection without losing width. The greater the projection the narrower the base width. BTW, implants do NOT need to be smaller than expanders and it is more a matter of determining if you are pleased with what you see now or want some tweaking done with the dimensions. Is width more important to you than projection? On some women, they need the width to get sufficient cleavage and to be proportionate for their frame.
Are you getting saline or silicone implants?
Deborah
