Chevyboy, love the picture, nature is wonderful.

Bonnets ,no Kohis here, ended up in marks and spencers, they have a free bra fitting service,  I found a lovely lady who's job it was. After about 15 minutes of trying and swopping styles and sizes my poor old chest now encased in a  soft comfortable bra. Feel held in place and look better with my rather droopy chest now where it should. She didn't  bat an eyelid at my black and  blue boob with large dint and steri strips. That is what I call customer service !!

Soteria.  Ferry cross the mersey is so apt for me. I met my husband in 1964 in the original cavern. We courted for six years and were so hard up we just got aboard that ferry most evenings and crossed the Mersey to Wallasey, if we hid from the crew until it crossed back we got off again in Liverpool and didn't pay.! It is as lovely as in the song.My classmate in school also babysat Julian Lennon, for John and Cynthia.

This afternoon picked up my youngest Granddaughter from school, she comes to our house for tea and to bring us absolute joy. Sure you all will agree these gorgeous little people give us  a reason to go on.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

Ah yes, "the little people"..... Now "my boys" are about 6 feet tall, but still the little guys I remember sharing my life with years ago.   I'm just so thankful and fortunate that they were part of our lives!

Edith, glad you found a comfortable bra!  I found a comfortable pair of Crocs last week....Ones so cute, like a Wedge, and good for our trip!  Not at all like the typical wardrobe of Crocs I have....  I couldn't do without them....  Don't know WHAT I would do if I had to put on a pair of heels!  I see the ones in the stores, that are like 10 inches high, and so cute!    I would topple over on my nose...  I don't know how they DANCE in them!

    Chevy,

That's what I  say, I'd fall on my nose if I wore them When we were young 3 inch heels were in , and I never enjoyed those! OW!!!!! Even  short heels kill me now. WOnder how many  turned or broken ankes  result from those HIGH heels!

Went to my primary/onc, suggests Arimidex, if I get side effects can always quit. Will see radiologist a week from tomorrow. He says for those of us 70ish rads are contraversial, if worth it.....So. we will see. Jean

Bonnets...your diagnosis is the same as mine....  My surgeon just said I would get radiation with the MammoSite Device, but probably not chemo....

Jackie takes Arimidex, and seems to be doing fine...Yes, you can always try something else, like Femara or Tamoxifen.... But everyone is different, so see what agrees with you.

I have 2 fake owls too, Ha!  We had a real one last year in one of our trees...just sitting there watching us.... But finally a couple Crows started hollering at him, and chased him away!   I used to watch a web-site about this guy and his owl-house with a camera, and we watched "Molly and McGee" raise their little babies after they hatched!   It really was fun!

Now I'm watching a live-feed from the San Diego Zoo, with this Mamma Panda, and watching her raise her baby.... I tune in a lot!  I'll send the web-site.

Hi everyone.   I usually just read and donot post much.    To help keep birds away -- try a wind sock and/or pinwheel - the kind that spins in the wind.   Movement and shiny surface scares most birds.

I had an interesting house the first round with the peckers, had pie pans and pinwheels  at the corners of every window, as they were attacking the face boards. The monthly exterminator told me today they had good luck with the Owls, might not look so strange as the pinwheels!, Ill give them a try. :) Jean

Someone had told me that those big brown garden owls will help keep the squirrels and birds from eating your tomatoes.  But the birds were no problem, they didn't bother anything... and the only thing that keeps the squirrels away is our little Lacee!   She views squirrels as just a nuisance in her yard and in her trees!

It was nice to have a big bird-bath in the garden... Fun watching the birds flop around in there, and making a lot of noise!  Sometimes it was so hot this Summer, that they would just spread their wings and lay in there!

I've heard those wood peckers on a lot of other houses, hammering away at the metal air vents!  That would drive me nuts!

Wow....too funny about being up early.  Well, I'm still working on my settings.  I'm not a computer nerd so it is hard for me in some areas.  We used to have a guy....he was neat and or a small fee....he would actually come out to your house and fiddle with your computer and "get" it right for you......if it was something that could be managed at home and that is what a good deal of mine usually was all about.  He moved back to Colorado so I don't have anyone now.

We love birds out here.  One yr. we had an owl ( nearly spooked us ) that followed us around from tree to tree as we walked our dogs outside at night so they could go potty before bed.  This owl seemed quite intent that he not lose sight of us....and was so un-like the behaviors of other owls that I finally called a university botanist...not sure that is the right title.....but he said to enjoy.  It was a young owl being trained by its parents....yes that is pleural, to hunt for itself.....and that soon it would become too afraid of people to continue checking us/them out.  He was right....in less then two weeks....we quit seeing this marvel.

Out where we live is not only a huge amt. of birds but foxes, coyotes, rabbits, raccoons, and all sorts of ducks and even some resident geese, along with of all things some bobcats.  They make a large 25 mile or so territorial radius so it is only now and then that we become aware that they have returned to hunt in our area, but it can feel a little dicey while they are here.  They scream at each other ( mating call I think ) and it can sort of stand your hair on end depending on how close.

Must run and get ready for work.....see you all later.

    Hugs, Jackie

Chevyboy, I want these for this life !! At least to totter in to my 65th Birthday party at the end of November. The Red and black would go with my dress. Then I could pop my nice flat crocs with the jet beads on when no one was watching.

I was laughing at your big little people. I didn't become a Nan until I was quite ancient and had given up hope. Just want to be here when they are taller than me. :-)

Hope you have a great weekend.

Progress, finally  lost the steri tape from the SLN incision. Small steps:)

Where we live we have tons of deer, gave up on a garden, woodchucks, rabbits, squirrels who love our Black Walnut tree,  geese and lots of birds. A lot of entertainment. Now just have to get hubby to put up the Fake owls and keep that rotten woodpecker from feasting on our house! Jean

It has been raining in the Davis Mountains since last night.  Our roads are a mess, but my new little car just went right on up the mountain and to home.

Grandaughter and I went to Alpine today on my day off and ran errands and had lunch with her paternal grandmother, who I adore.  Our grandaughter is so much like her.

We bought some do it yourself tiles for the living room, so GD and Papa started taking up part of the carpet this evening. I think we will all just take this weekend and work on the house.

Sure tired of the dirt in this house.  After we lost our home in 2005 from fire, we bought this double wide for a song and dance and moved it in, but it has never really felt clean.

Anyway I am feeling better.  I ate some choc. this evening so having a hard time going to sleep.

Morning everyone!  Mommarch, are you going to put the self-adhesive tiles down?  Are they ceramic or vinyl?  I've done a lot of that work around here, and the latest was ripping up the carpet in our living/dining room, taking out staples, nails, filling in the cracks with plaster or wood putty, and laying down the Laminate flooring.  If you do it in sections, it is a lot easier!

Yes, taking up 30 year old carpet was a mess!  With 2 dogs, 2 Grand-sons, and us, I think all that dust & dirt had a permanent home underneath the carpet and flattened out "dust" of a "padding"...Ha!

Have everything ready, and have fun!

The hardest part, was clearing out the rooms, then putting most of it back together!  We DID get rid of a lot of stuff we didn't use.  It took us about 2 weeks, with having furniture outdoors under this huge tent, before we got it back the we wanted it.

I tiled my kitchen one year, with those commercial tiles you see all polished up in grocery stores....  BUT you can never get them as epoxy'd and shiny as they keep them there!  But they really are easy to clean, and really durable.

Amazing how much "stuff" you accumulate in 55 years...  Oh, it WAS our 55th anniversary yesterday!!! Smile  We had so much fun!  We went up to a gambling town, got a Star-bucks, played video-poker, and I won!   Then we left at about 2:30, stopped and picked up "Chester's Chicken" and 2 huge sandwiches for only $3.49 each, and mashed potatoes, even fried chicken livers for our dog, and we had a great night!

    Still love that guy...Ha!

Miss Not-a-nerd has no idea if everyone else can see the picture because on my screen is one of those red x's but I know it happens sometimes so am going to leave it for now.....gggrrrrrr.

Beauty of a day out. Mommarch sounds like you will have a great week-end and end up with a nice clean house.  I know what you say about not having something feel clean.  We gave up carpet in our house when we moved to this one 9 years ago.  I know carpet tends to make a house seem warm, cozy, and on and on, but they do hold so much dirt......and for those with allergies, so many allergens stick to the carpet and drapes.  We mainly made that choice since we have so many animals but after doing it this way for so long.....it was definitely the way to go for us.  Have had other friends so it since then.

You can always ( and it works just fine ) get a nice wool ( they clean up so well ) area rug and put it down to highlight your seating area in the living room, or under the dining room table.....we don't do this, but my cousin does...and it looks great and works good for her.....but she only has one dog.

Cindi....yes, life does come back.  I heard a lady ( a totally different cancer blog ) talking about how much she is enjoying her daily life now that she is through txs.  Said that she worried about recurrence which was/is higher for her and then thought the better of it.  She said.....you can only consume yourself so long before it is so pervasive that you realize your stealing your happiness from yourself.............so yes, a good life returs.  A more or less every day life just like you had before your diagnosis and treatment.  Takes a little work to get it all adjusted....but shadows recede and we reach the spot where we have done all we can and rather than stay in that tight, not too comfy spot, we need to walk out in the sunshine again and get busy living.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

    Hugs, Jackie

    Chevyboy,

Happy belated anniversary and many, many more!

Cindi, life does get back to normal. You learn to put the worrying aside. It is always there but lessens as time goes on. We jus learn to enjoy every day and keep things as normal as possible.

The new owners at work are okay. A lot of changes, some good some seems to be a lot of duplicating the same work. After three weeks of training at another center and then not being able to practice anything I was taught for another weeks, and the new boss does things different then the lady that trained me makes for an interesing first two weeks of work with this boss. But things will get better.

A lovely fall day here. Sun is shining some trees are changing colors. I love the change of seasons. Waiting for our gd ( she is 3 years old)to come stay with us for the day. Hopefully, we can take a walk around the subdivision.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Jackie and Termite you are absolutely right. DH brought up a possible future problem last night and the old me would have stewed about it. I asked if there was anything that we as individuals could do about it. He replied no so I said I refuse to let those kind of problems worry me anymore.
