    Morning Ladies,

Kaara, Glad you enjoyed your trip. Been to most of those parks and they are amazing. Good to see there is still someone who uses FILM! It's getting harder to find /develope. Sams stopped doing it this spring. Takes forever and costs more at the drugstore. I have 2 digitals but don't like them. One day I guess I'll have to give in.

Mommarch,I agree the Tamoxifen may be the culpret, hopefully you will resolve it. Been lucky with the Arimidex, only an increase in my arthritis. Some days every joint hurts!Carole, hope your road trip goes well. Have fun.

Got a chicken BBQ at our seniors today. Lucky the sun is shining. Have a good day.

Mommarch.....I definitely would try switching to something else after at least two weeks of the Tamoxifen.  Some people can't take anything, but sometimes a switch to one of the others and there is a night and day difference.  I feel for all you end up going through....it would be well worth trying a switch.

bpmmets -- your barbecue sounds like a whole lot of fun.

Carole....almost ready to leave --- hope you can give us a note or two along the way.

    Peace and love

Carole, thanks for asking about my mom. And, hi to everyone else, too.

Thankfully, the rad treatments after the set-up have gone much smoother. We are in and out in 20 minutes, plus I got the tech to put the lotion (Miaderm) on mom when she is done.  The first time I tried to do it at home, she didn't want it.  Since the stroke, she doesn't like lotion, makes a face like a kid who doesn't like it. Won't put it on herself and she used to use it ALL the time. Nerve sensitivity thing.  She has gotten better about lotion in general except still hates it on her face. Somedays it doesn't seem to bother her.  I was told about some other "task" that sometimes it is just "too much intervention" from one person.  Regardless, the tech slathers it on and I am able to get it most of the area at night.  Shower aide gets it in AM 3 times a week.  Hope that will be enough!

4 down, 13 to go.  They want us to come in afternoon so we don't have to be rushed.  Unfortunately, it is at a time where mom falls asleep right before we have to leave.  Her therapy appts are over, sits on the couch, has a snack, dozes off....now, I need to wake her to leave!

Carole, enjoy your RV trip.  I was actually looking into Australia in Jan for the Australian Open assuming my boyfriend doesn't completely abandon me by that point (another story).

Reg it sounds difficult for u'r mom but it also sounds like she's tolerating it well--hope it stays like that, it's good to have the tech put on the lotion.

KAARA welcome home--u sound terrific with a beautiful vacation for wonderful memories--All the sites u went to visit how awesome-

Carole u'll be leaving soon now and I'm sure u'll have a great time too. Be safe and don't forget pictures. And Carole u really understand me now. LOL

Mommarch like the ladies said not all women can tolerate the Tami so u have to tell u'r Doc. no sense in going thru all this suffering

Oh, my aching feet!  Busy day going here and there and then back at home, trekking back and forth between the house and camper.  But almost everything we can think of is done.

Dinner will be warmed-up leftovers.  I should take a picture of the interior of my refrigerator/freezer.  It is gleaming.  I always leave it clean.

Reg, I'm so glad your mother is tolerating the rads.  Thank you for checking in and updating us.  I think the Australian Open will be over by the time we get to Australia.  It's a Done Deal now.  We ok'ed paying for the trip.

Chevy, how is your garden?  How about some pictures?

Jackie, what's the status with you and your dh moving into another house in the neighborhood?

Camille, how is Joey?  What is he doing this summer now that school is out?

    Questions, questions!

Thanks for asking Joey'a doing fine--He' started Bible study so that'a good and of course lots of time I can spend with him cuz he stays up a little later now--not much but a little. But our weather is turning hot now- ick--U'll see all types of weather I would think and hope it's all enjoyable.

Praise the Lord we have had major thunder storms and rain all afernoon.  Pretty muddy but I  will take that over the drought.

    Hi Ladies,

Been talking to  my brother in Birmingham, his wife Kathy had a massive stroke lat night and most probably will not survive, as they can't stop the bleed. They have a son still at home. Asking prayers for them. Will probably be headed there. SHe had no BP problems, was at a party, stood up and collapsed. Think she is in her late 50's!

One of the things that silently falls by the wayside when our busy lives get stretched too thin is hope.  Hope is never limited to the unreal.  Hope is that process within ourselves that stretches us beyond the ordinary, beyond the possible to the impossible, while at the same time rendering what seemed impossible possible.  Hope feeds our soul and our being.  It is that immeasurable source of power that comes from beyond ourselves and is not controlled by us.  Depriving ourselves of hope confines us to a world grown void of color and surprises.  We no longer see the flowers and the rainbows that are there.  Hope is not expensive to have.  It is very costly to be without.

bonnets....I am so sorry to hear that.  I had a stroke years ago.  I don't know that it is really anything that can be predicted.  I felt several factors played into mine.  I had a treatment called TCP or so I think.  It is a drug administered within the first three hours of a stroke and usually stops the stroke in its tracks.  It worked for me and to date.....knock on wood....I'm fine.  Did spend three days in intensive care and four on telemetry floor back then though.  About 3 years of therapy to get things back to normal.

I'll pray for your family.  I'm glad you can go and be with your brother.  Must be horrid for him to confront this.  She is young.....I was in my mid 50's for mine as well.

    Peace and love

Jackie:  Thanks for the welcome back message!

Carole:  Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did ours...I enjoyed hearing about your travels last year!

Mommarch:  I only take half the dose of tamoxifen that the Dr. prescribed and I've tolerated it very well.

    Hi Ladies,

Bonnets== so sorry to hear about your SIL. Prayers are being sent your way!

Carole== hope you enjoy your trip. sounds like it will be an adventure.

I have not been on a lot lately. Reading posts to keep up but not writing. I am sending out resumes for jobs. We have a trip planned in the fall and I am not sure I will be able to get off even though I put in for it in April.  DH says if they say no to give two weeks notice. Trying for substitution positions in the fall so we can travel to see grandkids when we want without having to ask off work. I was told today that I will staying at the center  I was just suppose to help out at for 2 week(which was about 2 months ago) after being told I was to go back to my center this week. Oh well, it is a job.

My sister is in hospice but is holding her own. My other sisiters and I are hoping to get to go and see her soon. It just makes me think it could be me like that and wonder what choices I would make.

Hope everyone has a good week.

We had a safe, pleasant day of travel and are at the RV park at Sam's Club in Tunica, MS.  The casino rv parks are typically very nice and this one is no exception.  The casinos provide these rv parks so that the travelers can gamble, but we had our dinner here in the camper and will probably be in bed by 9:30.

Termite, I hope things work out so that you can make the trip you've planned.

    Hugs to all.

Camille, nope, the whole page is weird!

SIL still hanging in, though the neuros are not optimistic in the outlook, even if she survives. She is non responsive , with only some abnormal brain activity.

Its 8:00 am here.  I felt much better since Sunday, don't know why some days are like that.  DH got up early and went to the broom shop told me to stay in bed and he would pick up a donut, not good for him.  So I got up about 7:30.  Kids don't have to be to theatre practice until noon today, will take them in and then help DH at shop until they get done.

Well had better get a bite to eat, med and some coffee.

Hope you all have a good day.

    Hi all,

I haven't been on much lately; feeling very fatigued & depressed.  But only 9 more rads treatments left to go!  So far, my skin is doing really great; a little pink but sore & tender.  Yesterday I had a Dexascan to see how much my hips & spine have deteriorated since the last scan.

Sounds like so many of you have been or will be traveling!  That's great!  When I'm through w/ my treatments, I'm hoping I will be able to go visit my older son in Long Island!

Jackie, loved that quote by Chardin!  & also the one by Sonia Ricotti.  Wish I could figure out how to live my life that way:(

I think I have at least found some strength from all the wonderful people on this site!

    Have a peaceful evening,

    Linda

Linda even thos there is really no pain with rads--they are exhausting and being so fatigued sometimes depression comes in--if u'r not on anything for that talk to u'r Drs. and see what he thinks and if u are maybe they need to up the mgs. It's still not over so blame the rads, they can cause problems.

We're in East St. Louis, IL, at the Casino Queen rv park.  There was more traffic today so a little more stressful for the driver, dh.  Now we're watching the hockey, which I don't really understand.  The action is so fast I find it difficult to follow.  Naturally, we are rooting for Chicago.

Tomorrow we'll head to Decatur.  I'm hoping we can back our rig into the SIL's narrow, long driveway.  It would be good to have the 5th wheel with all our clothes nearby.

Mommarch, glad you're having some better days.

Bonnets, still keeping your brother in my thoughts.

    Hugs to all.
