Hi everyone! I hadn't stopped in for a few days and thought I would see how you are were doing. This thread has been relatively quiet for a few days. Sending warm and loving thoughts to all of you.
JoJo - how are you doing?

Hi Renee and everyone - Me too, just stopping in to say hi.
Pam - how was your visit with your DD?
Which of you will be out whooping it up on Friday? I plan to bring in 2011 happily, expecting really good things for each one of us in the year to come. I just KNOW it will be a good year.
Love to you all.

Mary I too am expecting a much better 2011! I will most likely be staying home like every year watching Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve and the ball drop at midnight. Then off to bed with my darling hubby. LOL! It's become a family tradition I guess, only one year did we actually go out somewhere in the 22 yrs we've been married.
Hugs

Hi sisters! It's pretty quiet around here, but hopefully that means everyone is out there living life to the fullest! As far as New Year's Eve goes...Who knows if I can stay awake until midnight? Haha!
I'm starting the Special K diet today...I figure if I get a little kick-start, I can feel motivated to continue better eating habits in the new year. I can't blame chemo any more for the weight, considering it's been 11 months since my last treatment. Also, considering that less fat = less estrogen, it's not a bad idea.
I just want everyone here to know how grateful I am to have you all in my corner. My (sometimes irrational) fears are never looked down on or dismissed as ridiculous. The support I get is invaluable, and I cherish the opportunities I have to support you all as well.
Hugs to all!!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and a very healthy 2011. We all deserve it.
Couldn't have made it through the last 18 months without all you wonderful ladies.
Love,
Juannelle

Same here ladies. You gals rock.

Juanelle I feel exactly the same way, I couldn't have survived the last 14 months without all of you wonderful women. YOU ALL ROCK!!
For those of you that haven't been on lately I hope you are out living life to it's fullest and enjoying the last tidbits of the holidays with your families. Frankly I have been home now for 2 weeks and I am bored out of my mind, of course I know when I go back to work I will be ready for another vacation in a couple of weeks! But I do love my job (most of the time)...

OMG, the holidays are officially over. Grandkids have been returned to parents, makes me sad. I did give my granddaughter back and they drove off with her screaming MAW MAW, MAW MAW. I thought it was rather fun, but I am not sure that they did. It will take them a couple of days to get her straight again. Back to work tomorrow, that makes me sad also. I think retirement would be fun. But that will not happen for another 4 years.
Hope is all well with everyone else.

I guess life is returning to normal for all of us. The new "normal" that we all live with now
Oh, back to work after being off for holidays or vacation is so hard. I never minded working so long as it was the routine. But give me an extra day off and I did not want to go back! I got to retire early as DH is older than me and did not like being home alone Maybe he was afraid I was going to expect him to have dinner ready? Anyway, it is pretty easy to get used to not going to work! Do miss a paycheck though.
I think we have about 5 more holiday cookies... then it is back to normal eating around here. Thank goodness we don't have all this good stuff around all the time! I would be rolling instead of walking.
Wishing everyone a healthy and happy New Year. Love you all!

I have lost my voice. I don't feel sick at all, just have had a stuffy nose for about a week. Thought it was the cedar pollen, but maybe not. My DH thinks it is pretty funny. I guess I will wait until tomorrow to see how I feel to decide if I should go to work or not. I have so much to do, I really don't need to miss, I would hate to use my 4 days of sick leave for a year, during the first week of the year.
0 -
Boy, your job must think you are pretty resilient... only 4 sick days a year! It would be terrible to use them all the first 4 work days of the year. I hope you continue to feel okay and only suffer the laryngitis. When my grandchildren were younger we got everything from them. They would be sick a couple days and we would be sick for weeks
What is it, lemon and honey for laryngitis? Or whiskey
Hope you feel better fast.

When I worked for the mother company, we had unlimited sick leave. Of course, I was hardly ever sick then. Since I have been outsourced and only have 4 days, I have a very good supervisor and he works with me to take off when I need, boy has that been a life saver in the last 18 months.

It's nice when employers use a little common sense. Not always the case.

Still have 1/3 of a chocolate cake in the house and a jar full of cookies from the holidays. Told myself it was OK to eat cookies last night since I was in the kitchen doing dishes. Today, I'm getting psyched up for the "everything must go" clearance sweep. Feel like a kid giving up a blanket. Out with the old, IN with the new! Citrus fruit, hooray!!!! (Still trying to say it like I mean it!)

Mary, you can do this, just open the trash and shove it in. Apples and oranges are good for you. Good luck to you.
Pam, employers don't always have our best interest at heart. But the company I work for is just a people service company, so they have to have more rules for their employees. Or at least it seems that way.
We are expecting some cold weather starting this weekend. Not looking forward to that, I think I am ready for spring.

Mary, Juennele is right...open the lid and throw that cookie in....jut be sure not to put in a clean bag in the can or you will be tempted to fish out that bag of cookies...just joking. Brings back a Seinfield episode. If it is sitting there it is to tempting...

Michelle... LOL on the cookies!!! amazingly enough I haven't eaten many goodies like that during the holidays but then again we didn't do but one family get together. We still have one to go to that has been post poned twice and it may be again as we are expecting snow again on Sunday. LOL Kind of funny for Alabama to be getting all this snow and sleet!! But I love it

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and
wisdom in our heads that when thereis no more room, it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies. So we aren'theavy, we are enormously cultured,
educated and happy.Beginning today, when I look at my buttin the mirror I will think,
“Good grief, look how smart I am!”
Must be where “Smart Ass” came from!
0 -
Good one, Pam! By golly, I am getting smarter.0
-
I must be approaching genius!! hahahaahaha

ROFL!! Pam that was great0
-
I consider myself a big old smart ass.
0 -
Maybe I should stop losing weight, I feel like I am getting dumber by the day.
0 -
micheleboots: LOL-I KNOW I am!

Better a fat old smart ass than a super skinny dumb ass. Or at least that is what I tell myself to feel better.
0 -
Well, I don't think I will ever be classified as a super skinny dumb ass, because on my best diet, I would never lose enough weight to be considered skinny. So maybe, I shouldn't be worrying about it. Ok, I haven't really done any worrying.
It was a beautiful day in Texas today. Got out and did some shopping and enjoying the weather. Tomorrow it is suppose to be cold and raining. We are getting ready to have about a week of cold weather. I don't like cold weather.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Juanelle I agree with you on my best day I would never fit into that category either . I am right there with you... LOL!!!

We must all be busy living life, because we certainly haven't been here. Hope all is well with the world for everyone.
I have by grandson and he is playing video games. Tonight we are going to Austin to see my granddaughter, oh and her parents. Love being a Maw Maw.
The weather has been really cold here, but we didn't get any wet stuff with it. I know you did Rene, so I hope you have made it through the week and have managed to keep warm.
Love to all,
Juannelle
