Hey guys,
Please keep the prayers coming! We just met with the surgeon yesterday morning and the surprises keep coming. As it turns out the right breast was just LCIS (an indicator that I'm in a higher risk group for invasive breast cancer - but not breast cancer at this time). The left breast (the one that my home town pathologist said was fine) is questionable. They are going to carve up a few more slides and take another look. At first glance, they thought they might have found 1mm of invasive breast cancer. But that is soooo very small that they want to take another look before committing to a pathology. If it is invasive, that might mean a second surgery on the left breast. This could be done any time within the next month. But we will not know if that is necessary until Wednesday at the earliest. We may have the tissue sent to a 3rd lab before deciding (which would take even longer)
On a brighter note, I'm feeling great! The recovery from the double lumpectomy has been so much easier than I could have hoped for. Thank you God! The thought of a second surgery isn't scary at all. Piece of cake as long as I have the same anesthesiologist! Love that man! And the same surgeon! And most importantly God at my side and your prayers surrounding me! Thank you all!!! I started the new novena this morning. Prayers for all of you and your families and friends...Love & Blessings,
Ann

Bless - may God continue to watch and protect you - and your physicians......
Angel - so glad your surgery went well and that you're feeling good! The Day of Renewal sounds amazing. I will definitely check out that link.....
It's funny, when I was diagnosed, a friend who got her dx just a year before me told me that I would be amazed at how I would see and feel God's loving hand throughout my journey. I can absolutely say that it has been SO TRUE! You ladies - even though I just discovered you! - have further blessed me. Thank you for being here......

Hello,
Thank you so much for the positive prayers and wishes MMM. Yesterday was hard. I was in tears, in pain and in doubt. And I know when in doubt, our faith lacks. That's what the enemy -Satan wants us to attack us. I had to go back (PRAY) and remember how our dear Lord loves us incredibly and will never let us down or forsake us!
Continuing the novena. St. Peregrine: Please hear our prayers and pray for all of our bc sisters.
Jesus: Provide us peace and comfort during these difficult journeys.

The only way I do not go to the scary place all the time... or honestly... almost never... is:
My faith and this site.
The Lord heals me and this site .... by helping others... keeps me doing what I need to do... help others and keep my mind off my fear...
((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))) to you all... it will be........ok.

Ladies,You are all such a blessing!
This is what we hold onto...that the Lord is returning...in actuality He never left us, but He is returning in a most profound way. It will be different for each of us. Perhaps he is returning as we accept our cancer DX, perhaps we will feel His presence as we suffer financial pain or some doubt...but He walks with us. He never leaves us alone but is waiting for us to turn to Him. He gives us His Mother to comfort and intercede for us...and offers us the Rosary as the most powerful way to fight off Satan and all his negativity!! He promises that He walks with us as long as we remain faithful to Him. We ARE faithful...so He walks with us and we remain hopefilled.
Every morning I pray the Allegiance Prayer: Dear God in heaven, I pledge my allegiance to You. I give You my life, my work, and my heart. In turn, give me the grace of obeying Your every direction to the fullest possible extent. Amen
Then the morning offering:
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you the prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, and for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.
God is good, God is generous! Pray these prayers each morning and you will feel His presence and peace during our trials. The trials will remain but we will deal with them in peace if we recognize that He walks along side of us during our tribulations!
God is sooo good!

Thank you St. Peregrine for you intercessory prayer, In Jesus name, Amen.
Angel... great post......(HUG)
Ladies... we are so Blessed.
I cannot imagine not having our Catholic faith. We have everything. I love to hear EVERYONE talk about our Lord and the Bible verses and our walk with Christ. What I hate... is that there are very dear friends of mine and even some family...that do not have all His Church has to offer... they do not have such things in their church...
I pray for everyone to be brought to the faith...it is just sooooooooooooooo beautiful and wonderful... I HATE that ANYONE is missing out...
Gods Love

Ladies
Can we please band together today and offer many prayers for Jeannine, I took some time to read through your posts today Jeannine and I really want you to feel our prayers. I just really feel that she needs these prayers and think about how hard it is to have to go through TX again (so soon), waiting for a PET for the local reocurrance. Jeannine I hope you can now start feeling better and we pray that your PET is negative and you can enjoy your holiday season.
Know that we are praying and storming the heavens for peace, healing, and comfort for you!

Jeannine...holding you up in prayer right now....peace, healing, hope....
And David Emmons will be prayed for as well.
Laura...I know what you mean about people losing out. It actually breaks my heart to see an Atheist Thread on BCO. I can only assume that they feel justified in their position, but a time will come when they will see the error in their thoughts and they will wish that they had accepted what billions of people have come to know..that Christ is the risen son of God. God is merciful, and he will keep the door open for conversion as long as possible. I can only hope that once someone sees Christ face to face they will accept Him. But then there is so much time wasted and so much to be made up before entering into eternal rest with Him.....it is sad..
God Bless each of you!

Thank you for all of your prayers ladies! Prayers for all of your attentions requested above. Forgive me for not listing them all. I've been praying as I've read through them.
Today we met with the surgeon again.
They found .8 mm of invasive lobular carcinoma in my left breast. That's Tiny! Only by the grace of God did they even find it. It was on the edge of the tissue they removed. So we are going to do another surgery on Tuesday Nov 17 at 1:00. So please keep those prayers coming for me and my husband, Mike, and Dr Silverstein and Dr Vito and all the other lovely people at Hoag hospital.
Thank you all for all of your support and prayers.Love & Blessings,

Good morning! I have so missed you all! I am the proud owner of a new motherboard! I started to try to catch up yesterday am and then my friend who claims to be atheist(but she is truly the most wonderful person and has a LOT of curiosity about Catholicism) came over for coffee. So I had to do what I had to do...PLUS I was a bit overwhelmed being gone a WEEK! I did get as far as nancy's post about the carpenter.....and It was so lovely! I also am going to adopt(steal?) her term 'hit and run'. And I'm coming back later to catch up on reading and what's up w/ all of you..............
Here's my hit and run daily quotes and saint info......can't recap a week......moving FORWARD!
From Saints A year in Faith and Art:
Friday Nov. 13th: Saint Diegi of Alcala: Franciscan born in Andalusia around 1400. Chose religious life while still young joined Franciscans. Layfather, dedicated to assistance of the sick and pilgrims, assigned the role of cook. Died in Alcala, in 1463. His cult spread primarily in spain. King Philip II of Spain promoted his canonization, which took place in 1588. Saint Diego is represented as a youth, w/ the Fransiscan habit, often while deisplaying flowers in the folds of his habit. He is invoked aginst infirmities. Diego is from the Greek 'didaco' and means "instructed".
Sheesh! And I thought Andalusia was just an imaginary place on the movie 'Enchanted'.....!
My Daily Catholic Bible....a lady from my bible study borrowed so I couldn't have updated you ladies anyways! here is the quote for today:
St Frances Xavier Cabrini:
" I have started houses w/ no more than the price of a loaf of bread and prayers, for with Him who comforts me, I can do anything."
And isn't that awesome to know! as I am looking ahead, esp to next year(God willing!) and tightening my own finances and have been worrying! I have decided rather than overworking and making myself nuts and SICK I will spend more time in prayer, get more organized and continue doing things that cost little to NOTHING!
Ladies have a WONDERFUL day! I'll be back and catch up!
cheers and TGIF! nevermind the friday the 13th stuff! We have FAITH!

Another note on St. Frances Xavier Cabrini..although born in Italy she was the first US citizen to be canonized a saint! She is also known as Mother Cabrini...here is a wonderful Novena to her...
Novena Prayer to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini
Almighty and Eternal Father, Giver of all gifts, show us Your Mercy, and grant, we beseech You, through the merits of Your faithful servant, Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, that all who invoke her intercession may obtain what they desire according to the good pleasure of Your Holy Will - (name your request).
O' Lord Jesus Christ, Savior of the world, mindful of Your bountiful goodness and Love, deign, we implore You, through the tender devotion of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini for Your Sacred Heart, to hear our prayers and grant our petitions.
O' God, the Holy Spirit, Comforter of the afflicted, Fountain of Light and Truth, through the ardent zeal of Your humble handmaid, Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, grant us Your all-powerful aid in our necessities, sanctify our souls and fill our minds with Divine Light that we may see the Holy Will of God in all things.
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, beloved spouse of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, intercede for us that the favor we now ask may be granted.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be - 3 times each)

Good morning,
Thank you so much dear sisters in faith for the beautiful prayers and sentiments. I am feeling better. (Still achy & queasy but nothing God can't handle).
My PET scan will be Thursday. Keep the prayers going and for all our sisters going through this difficult journey.

i was delighted to know that St Francis Xavier Cabrini was the saint today when I went to Mass. I went seeking guidance about a personal music problem... thinking that I needed to 'back down' or quit so that our new director (that i hired) could do better.. The focus of the sermon seemed to be that we need to be persistent. I practically laughed out loud. I was amazed at how effective she was and how profound her influence on American Catholicism..
I wrote a report on her when I was a little girl (i don't have it anymore). I suggested that my daughter write about her but she chose Jacinta Marto.. one of the children who saw Our Lady of Fatima.

Apple......I feel you......Good job, deep breath......OK, I must confess I thought Francis(frances?) was a guy? oops! Well ya know I guess that's why I'm trying to learn more! And the quote was NOT from the picture book so there you have it!
All the post op ladies, esp Bless, congratulations. Jeannine, you are so tough. I hate you have to be this tough tho! Feel much love and many thoughts and prayers.
Oh also Jeannine......Your quote reminded me of.............Godspell? Or Jesus Christ superstar? Last saturday I walked the neighborhood and went to a neighbors garage sale. I bought this awesome credenza thingie that looks like it's outta the 60's maybe? VERY fabulous.....and it has the top that lifts up and has.................a turntable! So I of course HAVE vinyls...and was going to listen to Godspell..............BUT...the turntable does not work(DARN!).....but it's OK! I'm pretty sure I can find some old guy who can fix....the am/fm works tho. And it looks great in my dining room, just need to do a little work on the top...it's a veneer so I'll probably just paint to hide the previous sins. Nancy can you come down and help me? kidding...Or am I? LOL! Actually my sisiter who was over last wkend got me started w/ this 'restore it' stuff.
Ok sorry a bit off......I am hopefully going to the nun exhibit this wkend at Fair park....It is apparently a GREAT exhibit and here until dec 13th but not very well publicized.
http://www.womenandspirit.org/ Looks like it goes to DC , then Liberty island NY? after here...but goes well into 2010...I REALLY want to go! The same lady from CBS(Ctaholic Bible study went and told me about it. Speaking of Bible study...we have a TEST! eeks..I'm already sweating bullets esp after missing 4 of 9 classes. So if I disappear know I'm studying AND still praying for us all! Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers.....It's all been really fascinating and setting the stage for New Testament...we do all sorts of comparisons/cross references every week. No it's not a grade BUT it's important.
Ok ladies! Everyone have a wonderful wkend!
Lots of love and prayers to all, Agatha and Peregrine thank you and please keep helping us out!
Amen!

Jennifer...looks like a great exhibit! I will have to see it in Sept. 2010 when it comes to NY!
Do you know the saying, "GE lights never dim?" It is a nmeumonic device (sp?) for remembering the 5 books of the Pentateuh...taking the first letter of each it can remind you of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deutoronomy!
Hope that helps!
God Bless!
