Laura,  I always keep the Hail ,Mary in my head, especially the last sentence. Stephanie fought long and hard. And she kept her faith always.

    Continuing the novena...

St. Peregrine, please intercede on behalf of our special intentions...and for all at bc.org. Amen.

    Good morning!

I am sorry to hear about our sister Stephanie. I am a TN too. God willing, there will be a cure soon.

Beautiful passage Val61. Here is one I hold on to: Mark 11:22-24

" Have Faith in God. Thus I say to you whoever says to this mountain, "Be taken up & thrown into the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes it, will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe you have received it, and it shall be yours".

Denise: Just take it day by day and talk to God. He's waiting for you! I attend a smaller parish that is very community based. I prefer the fellowship there and feel the Holy Spirit.

    Blessings to all,

    Jeannine

Thanks Jennifer! Keep enlightening us with your knowledge!

Prayers for Stephanie's soul for a quick passage to heaven, and strength to her earthbound loved ones.

Val, Jeanine....great scripture passages...thank you for drawing us closer to Him through them!

Go K-love! I listen to it when in North Carolina...not much in NY...not even sure if it is a station here?  does anyone know?

Ladies, I am working with Direction For Our Times for their first Eucharistic Renewal Day in NYC! It is their first opportunity in Manhattan, (some of you may recall that I have shared their works, messages from Heaven to Anne a lay apostle  before from their website...  http://www.directionforourtimes.com/docs/DFOT%20Vol%201.pdf

Truly heaven sent and earth moving messages....please read up on them when you can. So much joy and generosity on our Lord's part to give us the graces found in this particular Mission!! But anyway, I have been asking the Good Lord to allow me to help spread the good news from this mission, and now this opportunity came up to host a Eucharistic Renewal Day in the city and I have been asked to help out!! God is soooo good!. We will say the Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) , have Mass, Adoration and Benediction and talks from the apostolate.  I am so thrilled to have this chance to help out, and will ask you to pray that the Lord's work is done that day...Nov. 8th from 2-5 PM.

Thank you prayer warriors!  And 2 other intentions my 18 y/o nephew....  he is in the ER now....purple swollen legs, vomiting, headaches.  They are researching vasculitis or Lupus. And for Guy, a fallen away Catholic in the hospital with a brain aneurism.  May the Lord lift both these men up!

Love you sista's!  God Bless you!!

    Morning ladies:  my apologies for fast and dirty this am...need to hop in the shower for LE therapy in a second or 2.  here it is saints and Art book;

    Blessed Angelo of Acri;

Born 1669 in acri Italy capuchin friar, tireless and beloved preaching friar nicknamed "angel of peace"led an active mission and became a provincial father.  died in 1739 and became a saint in 1825.  Angelo(angel) is of Greek origin and means messenger...how ya like tha Angel 10?

Now from Daily Ctaholic Bible:  St. Thomas More..............I have a special adoration...as I am hooked on the series the Tudors......OMG if you guys haven't checked this one out.....It IS a bit racy BUT the history about England and the religious history is very well illustrated and Thomas More.....Wow...great actors, great cast!  Ok, I digress......

" From what does such contrariness arise in habitually angry people, but from a secret cause of too high an opinion of themselves so that it pierces their heart when they see any man esteem them less than they esteem themselves?  An inflated estimation of ourselves is more than half the weight of our wrath."

Humility is quite divine isn't it....nobody(God included) appreciates  anyone too self righteous or arrogant.....egos....sigh......

ok, guys, love and prayers for ALL!

TGIF happy All hallows eve tomorrow!

    xoxo,

    jennifer

Laura, sorry for your dear friends loss. Please feel the love and prayers coming from DFW area.  What is RLDS?

All you ladies w/ impending surgeries, ditto...feel it!  I'll be asking the same in Dec when I go back to NOLA for stage 2 of DIEP.  Meanwhile I am working and praying to get the edema down and keep the fluid moving, going, going, gone!  progress is happening, thanks for your support.  I hope I covered all....Oh the husband and job!  Hope all goes well....ya know have had so many dear friends lately laid off and So many of them truly- door shut/ window open....they're in a better situation now...it CAN happen!  So I guess we pray for God's will?  As he knows best, right?  Need to remind myself of that frequently!

OK, on the Tudors-Sir(Saint Thomas More) and that whole period of King Henry...yes, Henry was evil but gosh they do an excellent job of illustrating his frail  human/confused side too....A really well done series!  I think so interesting too....Yes, our church, there was, as in ANY institiution...there was corruption...but I digress....the corruption certainly is NOT/WAS not ever inline/appropriate w/ the true values/teachings...at least I think?

If you ever get a chance to go to London...GOSH there is so much to see there!  I've been a couple times, oddly both times following BC treatment...For me it's almost like London and BC will always be connected in a strange way.  The first time I went w/ my sister(the one who had the DCIS) and her daughter who had just graduated college.  We had been talking about going for 3 yrs after another wkend trip to NYC we had for some silly reason started using British accents.  And by the way, we have perfected British accents/mannerisms and remain infatuated w/ anything british...YES, we're very goofy and silly!  But anyhoo.  When my sister was going thru rads - summer 2006, we just decided- that's IT!  We're going in Oct and my niece's college grad was in August. She made a pre-employment agreement to be off in mid Oct for a week or 10 days. Meanwhile, I went for first screening mamo at 41 and lo and behold calcifications yielded ADH which (thank you God) sorted me into high risk surveillance...and the rest is history...Nonetheless...we flew on my Bday 2006 and I was 10 days post op surgical biopsy that was consistent w/ ADH.  That was a great trip -so much history but we couldn't fit everything we wanted to do in.  SOoooo last Feb 2009, the day I finished rads (which I learned later was St. Agatha's feast day!) I decided I was going somewhere!  London air and hotel  on AA from DFW was a great deal.  No one was available to go w/ me and I wasn't sure when I'd have time off again so I just WENT and had a grand time.  Went to all the places I REALLY wanted but my sister and niece weren't as interested in.  Florence Nightengale museum(I'm an RN), also saw more of the National Gallery which has a HUGE dispaly about Henry VIII and Sir(Saint) Thomas More.  It was a great trip!

Ok.....I slept in and have been lounging and TYPING above!  all am!  So  here we go w/ daily saint stuff!

Saints;year in faith and Art:  Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez;  born in 1533 in segovia Spain.  he was a mercahnt and married and had 2 children.  His wife and children died in 1571 prematurely, his business failed and he then entered the Jesuits.  Sent to monastery on the island of Majorca, became the hal porter in the  monastery in which missionaries departed for the New World.  Invaluable spiritual advisor to many of the faithful.  Died in 1617 and declared a saint in 1888. Depicted in the habit of reglar clergy w/ occasional attribute of keys. Protector : Porters.  Name Alphonsus is of german origin and means "valorous".

Daily Catholic Bible quote:  "How can man say he believesin Christ if he doesn't do what christ commanded him to do?"  St. Cyprian of Carthage

Ok, ladies have an awesome halloween! love and prayers, xoxo,

    jennifer

Wow.  Prayers for all those ladies and their families.  May God bless them all and hold them in His arms today and always.

Thank you all for praying for me.  Just thought I should let you know that things have shifted here a little.  I had my consultation today and the lab here has come to a different diagnosis than the local lab.  They believe that I have LCIS instead of DCIS in the right breast.  And atypical cells in the left breast.  So they are going to operate on both tomorrow.  I guess that this will give them a bigger sample of both areas that they can do an indepth analysis of.  So a double lumpectomy it is.  They will be keeping me in hospital overnight so I may not be able to post right away.

I know that God is goodness and His will is what will be.  And it will be what is best for me.  But right now, I'm scared.  there is a beautiful church here and we will be able to go to daily mass tonight.  Thank you God for that and for all of your blessings.  Forgive me for being weak.

PatMom........................I'm speechless...................you know there are some things we just know.....but you make it so real.  Sunday we were invited to place/write our deceased loved ones in a book at my church...Not sure if that is the "book of life"  I was listening but after readin some stuff this am...I'll get there, keep reading.

Ok patMom, sorry....................As the early detection posterchild...as well as all the upbeat pink ribbon, awareness, etc.  The fact that people still DIE from BC at times is distant.  yes, of course I pray on this thread and I almost listed my bluebird leader from 1972 joy parker, in our book.  She was I think one of the first experiences I had w/ death...yes, BC......I found an old journal-w/ holly Hobbie cover of course.  expressing my sadness and my sadness for her daughter who was my age.

While I am humbled, I am angered in a way that forces me to redirect my energies...YES, I will do Komen for the cure walk in april for Tarrant County and invite my biological sisters and of COURSE anyone else.  And I will wholeheartedly continue to support anyone whose life is touched by BC, but MOSTLY.......I want to PUSH forward researchers and (heard this on NBC today show) this NEXT generation to PLEASE research more into cause.  YES treatment is Soooo important too, but lets' take it a step further....investigate hormones, animal products some of the alternative stuff that has been poo pooed or squelched by forces who would be hurt by any negative truths that come out.  No, I don't think there is some big conspiracy BUT  all the research has been ever so treatment based and there is so much money involved...No money is NOT evil BUT....sorry, has always been a BIG point of contention for me and I know others too.  Ok, ladies thank you for listening!

I did keep holy the sabbath and yesterday...My LE therapy starts early-8am so my days are still erratic...but WONDERFUL!  as that verse from James?  I do "Consider it all joy!"

Bless, bless, bless....God will take care of you but PLEASE please please feel the love and support from me and heck I'll go out on a limb and say ALL of us...we are w/ you my dear.xoxo.

oK......I'm summarizing and hitting high points on saints and quotes:

Nov 1 All saints day:  we all know about this.

Nov 2:  All souls day:  there is a lovely painting in my Saint-Year in faith and Art called Resurrection of the Flesh, by Luca Signorelli:  It is housed apparently in San Brizio, Orvieto Cathedral....so if any of you get by there..make sure you check it out....LOL!  I'd actually LOVE to go find it.  Perhaps I will someday!  Church of Rome officially added  the commemoration of the faithful dead, following Nov 1 in 1311.  It had been practiced prior  starting at the end of the 10th century in the Benedcitine monastery of Cluny.  Pope Benedict XV, in 1915, granted all priests the privilege of celebrating up to 3 masses on this day, one for the celebrant, one for the pope, and one for the faithful dead.

Nov 3rd:  Saint Hubert:   Bishop of Tonres-Maestricht in 705 and later became first bishop of Liege.  During a hunt he encountered a stag that bore a crucifix between it's antlers.  He is depicted as a bishop, often accompanied by the stag, and is invoked against rabies, and the bites of reptiles.  Protector: Hunters and hunting dogs, forest rangers, workers of hides, and butchers.  'Hubert' is from the German and means "brilliant spirit".

Nov 1 and 2 are great quotes but I'm jumping to Nov 3rd:   St. Theresa of Avila:  "  When the Lord knows that good health is necessary for our welfare, He sends it to us; and when we need sickness, He sends that too."

I'm having a bit of difficult time w/ that one but I guess it goes along w/ the entire thought/idea/truth that God's plan is best, so I continue to pray for God's will, but I guess it's ok to ask for GOOD HEALTH please!

Have a wonderful Tuesday ladies, thank you for reading and for the fullness you help bring my into my life!  Amen...and of course all those intercessory prayers and novenas I'm not so good w/!  Thank goodness you guys are!

    love and prayers continue!  xoxo,jennifer

Ladies, I can't take any credit for the list.  I simply copied and pasted the most recent list from

Forum IndexForum: Commemorating Loved Ones → Topic: Angels List from the Threads

It is maintained by celia088.  It is a list that is updated too frequently.

    Continuing the novena.

St. Peregrine, please interecede on behalf of our special intentions.

PatMom...I often go to that list to remember our lost friends. It hit me recently that we have been losing an average of a woman a week this year. That is a grim reminder that breast cancer kills.

Hello to all. What a wonderful week. At CCD, all the catechist had their names put on to a St. card and into a basket and we each drew names. Now this week we pray for the person we chose. What a nice idea. We did the same thing in the class I am taking.

Prayers for all my BCO sisters.

God Bless all in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mary22 that is very cool....and I love that cute avatar...i'm having coffee w/ you as I type!  lol!

Laura thanks.......dunno, dunno, there was a period when I was vegan last year...who the heck knows.....Ya know I kinda went nuts after surgery and went and bought a bunch of cheese and dairy products and had barbecue and OMG it was SOooooooooo good!.....if you read the China Study......dairy is quite a controversy yes we need calcium BUT....Ok, ok, this should be on another thread !I digress.....I just know Jesus did eat flesh and fish......I plan to remain PLANT based...does not mean vegetarian necessarily but I do NOT think we can undestimate the whole "use food as medicine" theory....eeks on the heels of trick or treat and Thanksgiving/holidays!  oK, ok.............OK.

Sorry-FAST and DIRTY b/4 LE traffic and therapy:

St Charles Borromeo:  listed in both my resources(yay-love when they coincide!)....

"  Nothing pleases God more than for us to be His Son's helpers and to undertake the charge of saving souls.  Nothing brings more joy to the Church than those who restore souls to spiritual life, thusdespoiling hell, defeating the devil, casting out sin, opening heaven, making the angels glad, glorifying the Most Holy Trinity, and preparing for themselves a never-fading crown."

About the man:  Born in Arona, Italy 1538 into a family of Lombard aristocracy.  Bishop and Cradinal of Milan during the period of counter-reformation.  active in carrying out the reform dictates of the Council of Trent in his dioceses.  remembered for his intense pastoral activity, works of charity, most esp during the plague of 1576.  Died in 1584 in Milan, canonized in 1610.  Depicted in Cardinals robes sometimes w/ a cord around his neck, the sign of the penitent.  Invoked against the plague.  PROTECTOR:  seminarians, catechists, teachers and starchmakers.  CHARLES is of German origin and means "man, or free man".

So there ya go!  and we were just talkign about catechism!  what is a starchmaker...have to look that up...and is the penitent the person confessing or the priest being confessed to....ok thinking outloud!  need to bolt!

LADIES!  favorplease...prayers for my 2pm appt w/ OB/GYN to recheck cysts on ovaries.  I am feeling like it will be normal but I take NOTHING forgranted and how can the prayers hurt?  My first bone density afterward since i am premeno on Tamox......ok, enough girlie stuff.

novenas continue-pergrine, agatha, thank you and keep up the great work!  love and prayers ladies and an awesome wednesday!

    xoxo,jennifer
