Prayers for your OB/GYN visit Jennifer.  Thanks for mine!  I survived my surgery and even got to come back to the hotel instead of staying overnight at the hospital.  God is good!

    Blessings,

Ann that is great!  Please keep us up.  We WANT to know.

So one cyst was gone and the other ovary had a cyst but it was 'clear' and smaller.  Sooooo that's that, we're not worried.  I can follow in 6 mos or 1 year.........They put me on for 6 mos and I see the med onc the same week so we'll figure all that out.

Bone density scan in normal limits after 6 mos on Tamox. The lumbar was almost as low as possible..........weight bearing exercise and need to increase the Ca supplements ....need to cut back on carbonated beverages too.

That's my report.  THANK you ladies for the prayers and support.

    xoxo,jennifer

Good morning my dears!  YES Laura  doing the happy Thanksgiving dance......you are in the show me state?  Can't remember, sorry!  we are 70's forecast w/ nights in the 50's. Sun and clear skies....just beautiful!  Lots of fall foliage too.

Thursday Nov 5th!  Saints Elizabeth and Zacharias:  Parents of John the Baptist;  Elizabeth was the cousin of the Virgin Mary; she was already on in years when she conceived, and during her 6th month she was visited by her young cousin; when the two women came near each other, John leapt in his mother's womb.  Zacharius, struck dumb at not believing the announcement of the coming birth of John, regained his speech only when it came time to name the child.

    Zacharius is invoked against mutism.

Protector:  Elizabeth is the protector of sterile women and those giving birth.

Patron:  Zacharius is a patron saint of Venice.

Names:  Elizabeth is from the Hebrew and means "God is abundance"; Zacharius is of Aramaic origin and means " God remembers".

Above from Saints- a Year in faith and Art

Now from the Daily Catholic Bible:  " Perfect love means putting up with other people's shortcomings, feeling no surprise at their weaknesses, finding encouragement even in the slightest evidence of good qualities in them."  St. Therese of Lisieux

Gosh! I NEEDED to read/hear the last quote!  trying/praying on some broken/damaged relationships..a couple family members and a friend from work...no grudges here, just prayers!

Funny when I read about Elizabeth mother of John....'older or on in age" as they said...she was probably 30!  hah! no who knows...I'll ask my CBS teacher when we get to that....and her mute husband......I swear if I ever marry people will probably think my husband is mute because he won't be able to get a word in edgewise!  My character flaw!  tho I am simmering down but just remain overjoyed, esp on the other side of this  1st stage recon!

Of course I continue the novena for Peregrine and Agatha.

Let me put something in the backs of your heads ladies:  I have wanted to go to Sicily ever since I found out about St. Agatha....I think I've told you all I learned her story later but discovered I completed my radiation(which I had a miserable time w/) on her feast day.  I know there is celebration of her feast day in February.  I don't think I can make it this February BUT, I'd really like to plan on going in 2011.  again, file away in your memory banks and think about it....I can't-actually I could go alone...but It would be even more special to sher w/ my breast friends.  Rates are typically low to EU in feb and that part is stinky and too hot in the summer.  Of course honestly I'd love to go topless sunbathing someplace mediterranean on the same trip...and by then it will be ok to bare them-it's contraindicated still from rads now and the first year after surgery.  Sorry if that offends anyone....BUT really we Americans are the ones w/ the puritanical/nudity beliefs.  OK, sorry I'm droning!

Have an awesome thursday! Love and prayers!

    Good Morning ladies-

Thanks for the prayers for a successful surgery, I am done and feeling better just sore and lazy!!

I want to ask for some very specific prayers from you ladies for a great lady on these threads, she helps many and had a recent incident with a possible heart issue after all of this treatment. She is a great lady is always on the threads for the sole purpose of helping others never asking for herself. She is meeting with a cardio and really looking for answers. I believe her to be private and very humble so I will just call her J.

Please everyone come togehter for her and offer prayers of health, healing, and peace in this situation.

    Thanks Michelle

Bless I pray that your results are good and that you have peace until then.

Thank you for all of your prayers, yes NONIJ please keep my family in your prayers, we have so many blessings yet we have had a hard year too. After I was dxed my middle son was dxed with juvenile diabetes, I decided to take a leave from my 17 year career in business development to heal and take care of him. We really felt we were making good decisions for our family and were being led in a very divine way. My husband is now carrying benefits and his job is up in the air and he is so stressed, we just want to have some peace and enjoy after all for this health upheaval. Needless to say we are very concerned about the benefits. Even with all of that I feel blessed that I am ok, my family is for the most part ok and we are surrounded by love and support. I just know we will be cared for so just keep us in your prayers, as I believe in the power of the ladies on this thread and their great faith. I have already been blessed beyond belief by your posting and demonstrations of faith and love.

    Michelle

Prayers for Bless, Armywife, and J today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pat's mom, Thank you for that list. So incredible. Yes too many sisters are succumbing to this dreadful disease and I pray I don't make the list anytime too soon.

Michelle: Happy to hear about your successful surgery.

PlaneJane: Thank you for apprising us on the Saint info.  Amazing!

I had my final Ixempra yesterday. Rt. breast still in pain. Pet Scan in 2 weeks. Keep me in prayers sisters.

My aunt sends me a quartlery Catholic LIving Faith for Daily Devotions.

    Here is today's:

"This man welcomes sinners and eats with them." Luke 15:2 Not a Mussum for Saints.

Interpretation: "As important as history and tradition is to our church, our faith is not a museum exhibit filled with long-dead specimens, stuffed and propped up to show us what the "real thing" looks like. Our Church is and must be alive and real, and that means it is filled with fragile, weak sinful humans. Jesus welcomes us to his Church jsut as we are and invites us to dine with him at the echartistic table. When we do, we come into real and pure communion with him and receive his mercy, healing and forgiveness. That's Church."

Jesus, welcome me in to your healing presence.-Steve Givens

Have a blessed day all! God you reign~!

Thank you.. all you wonderful ladies for continuing to share your faith, needs, intentions and prayers here. I would ask if you would remember in your prayers tonight my girlfriend's husband Cliff who died suddenly this past weekend. He was 57 and he leaves 2 teenagers who loved him dearly.  May he rest in peace.

I haven't posted much this week as I am busy trying to pull together the Eucharistic Day of Renewal in my parish this weekend.  This is a program started by Anne, a Lay Apostle and her writings (Climbing the Mountain, etc.) that I have shared with you before. I am really feeling that God is in the works with all of what is going on with this day...i.e. it is a Heaven driven project...and I am trying to do my part in responding to the call.  Really, what else can we do??  That in addition to the unexpected death of my GF's husband and interviewing for a job(s)....it has been hectic.  I love to come here to get re-focused with my sisters in prayer here....thank you for being here!

A quick comment based upon Michelle's concerns for benefits, etc.  I know that there are so many of us who have financial concerns, job concerns, (me, too!!) and family faith concerns...then there is illness and death that we are all dealing with!    Please dear ladies....let's keep our houses in order.  We are not through the tough times yet...I just feel certain that there is more to come.  Let's try with all that is going on in our lives to act like the bridesmaids who were prepared when the Master came home....keep your oil lamps filled!

How?  Stay in prayer, minimize your spending, save where possible, and stay FOCUSED..focus on God. Live the good news, share the good news. No matter what we are dealt....with God at our side, who can be against us?  We know that ultimately, Satan loses and our Blessed Mother steps on him with her heel. In the mean time we must continue in prayer, and expectation that He will come again. It is up to us to be prepared for that coming even as we know not when.  And the truth is....it may not happen for all of us at the same time.  He may come to us at different times and in different ways. He came to Cliff this past weekend...I hope he was ready...

Pray.  Stay steadfast, be ready and prepare for His coming!

    Thanks for being here...

    God Bless!

I am praying for a Peace to descend upon you and that the Blessed Mother keeps and protects you and supports a very positive outcome of your PET.

Dear Lord please support the sisters of this thread and their intentions, we ask for health, peace, and a deep faith that can be shared and comforts others.

To J, Michelle, Armywife(?), Jeannine,............hope I didn't forget anyone, Bless! too.....Many prayers,  feel them and the love from all of us!

Angel, couldn't agree more.....FOCUS...then again I am probably ADD just yes, So incredibly important to put first things first.  Thank you for the reminder!

Friday November 6:  from Daily Catholic Bible:  St Augustine of Hippo:

" The fear of God prepares a place for love.  But once love has begun to dwell in our hearts, the fear that prepared the place for it is driven out.  In sewing , the needle introduces the thread into the cloth.  The needle goes in but the thread cannot follow unless the needle comes out first.  In the same way, the fear of God first occupies our minds, but it does not remain there, because it enters only in order to introduce love."

HOW great is THAT!  I am reminded of what the angels always say/ preface in the bible:  "FEAR NOT!"

And from "Saints a Year in Faith and Art"...You all if you love art, the depictions/paintings are REALLY quite lovely and interesting...I actually bought this in the ALB airport w/ some retablas for Agatha, Mary Magdalene and St. Francis....beauty of a book I've googled it and found on Amazon or somewhere.................ok, sorry FOCUS!  LOL!

Saint Leonard of Noblac:  Hermit:  A Frankish Noble, Leonard was converted by remigius, bishop of Rheims, in the 6th century.  By way of King Clovis I, Leonard was able to obtain liberation of many prisoners.  he then became a hermit at Noblac in the forest of Limousin, where he made a cell for himself.  Clovis was out hunting w/ his pregnant wife, and with the help and prayers of Leonard she gave birth in his cell.  the grateful king gave Leonard all the surrounding land on which to found a monastery.  His cult, and also his legend, spread mostly in the 11th century.  Depicted in a cloak of a monk, or robes of a deacon, w/ shackles as his attribute.  he is invoked to ease the pains of childbirth and by sterile women.  PROTECTOR:  Farmers, blacksmiths, fruit vendors, prisoners, and the insane.

NAME:  Leonard is of German origin and means "strong as a lion".

There you have it ladies!  TGIF!

oh yeah, novena- agatha and peregrine continue helping us out please!

much love and MANY prayers ladies!

Today I played at being a carpenter. My kitchen window has been unframed for over five years. When the kitchen was redone, the carpenter had to leave unexpectedly at the end and, well, he just never came back. It was the only thing undone.

When my father died, I found a set of power tools I gave him for Christmas several years ago...still in the box. And it got me thinking that *I* could finish the window. I made two trips to Home Depot, shed some blood when a saw ripped a finger (just a small nick), had to pull out a few pieces a couple of times, and I'm only half done. BUT, I figured out a beautiful way to finish the window. One more trip to Home Depot tomorrow after church should do it.

Anyway, afterwards, as I sat soaking my aches away in a hot tub (hammering and sawing is hard work!) I thought about Jesus and how He was a carpenter. It made me feel closer to Him. And how lucky I was to have modern conveniences like a bathtub and Aleve.

concernedsi.. i believe i will be writing a letter and doing what little i can to boycott. yuk.. that's immature and horrific.  so funny.. NOT.

prayers for all my Catholic sisters and those who suffer from breast cancer.

I have been totally immersed in my Catholic life... drinking beers and spending hard earned money at the parish auction, dealing with the headaches of a young wunderkind music director that i hired who is doing an absolutely horrible job..  Catholics must be diplomatic and pray.  I pray i don't yell at him next time I see him, and that he will quit before he must be fired... sigh.

i put together a wonderful funeral for my friend who died of cancer after 20 years of poor health.. He was one of the shining examples of Christ on earth... warm, helpful, loving, never complaining.  I was greatly heartened by the musicians who joined to pay him tribute..  it was the best funeral we've had in about 10 years.  I wish he could have been there in the tenor section- thanking God for the wonderful gift of himself.

I wish I could be so full of the love of Christ like Bill,  and pray that he guides my hand in dealing with the wunderkind, whose love of the Lord is every bit as strong.

The Feast of Christ the King is the 22nd.  I love that Feast Day.

prayers for all of those who are in pain, suffer uncertainty and sorrow and blessings to all.

    Good Sunday ladies-

I am starting a new Novena for all today. I was reading in bed still recovering from surgery and my 5 year old was sitting at the end of the bed and he asked me what I want for Christmas ( he has been drawing XMAS stuff all day) I said a new computer!! Out of the corner of my eye I saw him  make the sign of the cross, I asked were you praying and he answered yes, and I said what for and he said for you to feel better and a new computer.....WOW out of the mouth!

Anyway have just been feeling so blessed and am inspired by all of you to did deep into my faith and keep the prayers coming.

The following Novena is: "the oldest novena dating back to the very birth of the church and its importance cannot be underestimated. When Christ first appeared to the apostels forty days after the crucifixion, he sent them to Jerusalem to await the Holy Spirit and instructed them to pray for nine days. This Novena, written in the middle ages, is said for nine days and is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light, strength, love, and wisdom needed by all. In art the Holy Spirit is always depicted as a white dove."

Each day of the nine will be a different prayer with a different subject to contemplate. After each daily prayer a Our Father, Hail Mary, are to be recited and the Glory be seven times.

I beging this Novena today for the ladies of this thread, J, and all of your intentions.

    AMEN

Apple, sorry about your friend's death, but so good to know he was there in the first place!  And I will remember you this evening in prayer for diplomacy and patience...and that the musician understands his own limitations! :)

Thanks for the new novena mmm5...I am trying to pray more to the Holy Spirit...He is such a powerful force!!

Ladies, the Eucharistic Day of Renewal that we held today in the city with the Lay Apostolate of Jesus Christ the Returning King....was so awesome...so gracefilled, so prayful and so abundant in His blessings! God is good and God is Generous...I hope each of you will find the opportunity to read up on this apostolate, download the messages and volumes that are available for free from their website.  My life has been so blessed since i joined this apostolate, that I can't help but to continue to recommend it to my BC sisters.  www.directionforourtimes.com I don't know how I could have gotten through these past 2 years without it....

I wish I had stayed in the Church I grew up in... but moving 30 min. away.. changed my parish.. and now I live 5 min from Church. I really need to get more involved. We used to be.. when kids were small.... so now... all new people in the parish... it seems like we only recognize 10 family's out of about 1000. :( So , again I say... I need to get involved so I actually know some people there again. You are blessed to be a part of this tonight....

I know  you will praying for all the souls lost to BC.
