THERESA iN LIGHT OF THE NOVENA WE JUST FINISHED , IT'S VERY APPROPRIATE.
"OH WHAT ELSE CAN i DO FOR YOU OH LORD" I DID ASK THAT QUESTION AND ONE ANSWER WAS TO COME BACK HERE. REMEMBER I WROTE THAT THERE WAS A TIME TO MOVE ON. THERE IS ALSO A TIME TO STAY. I KNOW THERESA YOUR PLACE IS HERE. OTHER THREADS BOTHER YOUR BALANCE. FOR MYSELF, THERE IS TIMES MY NURSING KNOWLEDGE CAN HELP.
WHEN EACH OF US CAME HERE WE SOUGHT HELP ON EVERYTHING BC .WE WERE LOST IN THE WILDERNESS ALONE. THERE WERE OTHERS THAT PRECEDED US, THAT HAD LEARNED AND WERE AB;E TO GUIDE US. FOR MANY HERE WE HAVE NOW BECOME THE GUIDES OF "NEWBIES' THAT FEEL, AS LOST AS WE DID IN THOSE FIRST DAYS AND WEEKS.
THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING THE CATHOLIC THREAD GOING FULFILLS JESUS' CALL TO CARE FOR THOSE TROUBLED BY THEIR ILLNESS/
Eternal God, in Whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy Itself. Amen."-Closing prayer of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy
WE PRAY TOGETHER,, WE GUIDE THEM TO OTHER USEFUL THREADS , WE LISTEN TO THEIR FEARS,. WE PRAY FOR THOSE THAT ARE DYING , AND THOSE THAT HAVE DIED.
WE DON'T NEED TO BE HERE DAILY, BUT CHECKING IN TO SEE IF SOMEONE NEEDS US IN AN ECUMENICAL WAY.BY WHICH hE GUIDES US. PAX ET BONUM AND NAMASTE SHEILA

Thank you all for the prayers for my SIL.
I'll have to wait to till I have more time to tell you all about the retreat - teaming was such a gift. I sang my heart out, just gave it up and asked the Holy Spirit to lead me, and He did. I sang a song from Kari Jobe called "Here" as all the retreatants walked into the chapel for the stations of the cross. It was so moving, trying to sing and not cry! After each station we sang one verse that fit from "Were You There" as if Mary was singing them herself.
Anyway, back to work, just wanted to check in and keep the faith moving!

hello sisters
Sagina I hope that you dear SIL's family are coming to terms with their sad loss and I will remember them and your SIL in my prayers. Didn't you tell me that your daughter had been at Notre Dame for a year? This year between 31 August - 2 September there are going to be some american f/ball matches in Dublin (Ireland). The list of matches is :-
John Carroll University vs St Norbert College
Loyola Academy, Chicago vs Jesuit Prep Dallas, Tx
Notre Dame Prep, Scottsdale, Az. vs Father Judge HS, Philadelphia
Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, Ca. vs Hamilton High School, Hamilton, Arizona
Kent School, Ct., vs Great Britain/Ireland All-Stars.Some of you may recognise those colleges and teams. I know nothing about any of them although the names of some would suggest that they are Catholic colleges. However the highlight of the series is Notre Dame v the Navy - I'm presuming that they mean the naval college. So I take it Sagina that you will be cheering for Notre Dame as will all in Ireland who are aware of their nick name ! !
Hope you all enjoy your weekend. take care.

Frank, I live close by to Notre Dame Prep in Scottsdale. In fact the high school is about 1 minute from my breast cancer surgeon! And yes, Navy would refer to the Naval Academy.
I'm not a Notre Dame University fan, but that's because I went to college out near the same area and was in the marching band and they were one of our biggest football rivals...and a big marching band rivalry.
The event in Dublin sounds fun!

Thanks for your good wishes. The retreat was fabulous. Very emotional and refreshing. We spent much time discussing the gifts of the Holy Spirit...identifying the gifts we have and those we'd like to receive. We prayed to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Lots of great music, which I always love!
The Alpha course is not a Catholic course but rather a course on the basics of Christianity. It is based on the teachings of Nicky Gumbel, an Anglican minister from England. It has been offered at our church for about 12 years now. It's something I've always wanted to do but just didn't find the time. I told myself (and God) last year after my cancer diagnosis that I would do the course this spring. I find it really interesting. As Catholics, I find there are so many things we do so automatically. This course gives an opportunity to step back and reflect on things and see them in a new light. I am really enjoying it. If you're interested in more information, take a look at the Alpha website: http://www.alphausa.org/Groups/1000065342/Guest_homepage.aspx
Sheila, you're right. I will try to come back here and check in at least once a week. I just need to be strong and stop myself from straying to ther threads.
Blessings to you all!0 -
Hi Michelleeo, I am going to look into the Alpha website. Thanks!

Since Mother's Day is coming up and Tink is a mother worrying about her own child's health, how 'bout we say a Rosary Novena ... say a rosary (or more) a day for 9 days and ask our Mother Mary to go to Jesus with the intention of recovery of health for Tink's (Maria's, so fitting to ask Mary!) daughter. If there is a health problem, that it's easily fixed and all will be well. Tink, I know you've provided us your daughter's first name before, but I'm on Tamox too!!!!! Can you provide again for the Novena?
We can start on Saturday May 5th and end on Mother's Day, May 13th.
Pax et Bonum!

Thank you Theresa that would be so wonderful! lol oh I understand me too... cant remember anything anymore. Her name is Ali The Gi doc called today and said some of her inflammation markers were up... I could of told him that they have been for months so they are starting with a small bowel series. The white blood count is still up so the Pedi recommended a reumotologist ( i think i killed the spelling of that) Thank yo so much. This is worse than anything I have been through, would go through it all again if I could just make her better!
God Bless you all for your prayers!
Namaste.

Tomorrow, Saturday, we will start our Rosary Novena for Ali. Blessed Mother, take her as your own and ask your Son for her healing. Give Maria strength, as you had, for all the trials, doctors appointments, the unknown that is ahead. All things are good if we give them to the Lord. He makes bouquets out of our weeds.
"This terrible sourge [suffering] of humankind can be changed into a blessing, by being united to the sufferings of Christ."
O Lord, remind me that without love, faith and hope are empty, as are these words I pray. Bless and keep all Your children especially those most in need of Your love. Make Your face to shine upon us all and be gracious to us. Look kindly upon us and grant us a lasting peace. Amen

Today is the feast day of St Peregrine. Sounds like a great and powerful time to start a Novena and full moon is also tomorrow - hey, covering all the bases!
St Peregrine, thank you for letting me pray to you every day to intercede along with St Agatha to God to help me and all the women and men on here dealing with breast cancer. Please be with us as we start a Novena tomorrow.

Oh don't forget St Gertrude, Nancy. She's the patron saint just for cats! I have an 8 x 10 framed photo of her in my hallway. It's such a neat print
But yeah, St Francis gets my ear a lot, too!

Day One [concluding] of the Rosary Novena for Ali
I'm sorry I'm so late posting... I had to drive to Fredericksburg today for a very long OFS lesson and drive home and prepare for our last CCD class tomorrow! Phew! Praise God that I have the strength! I said my rosary on the drive down, meditating on the Glorious Mysteries and offering Ali's illness up to Jesus.
St. Peregrine's feast day? How appropriate for us! Welcome all... there is power in numbers! :-)
