St. Peregrine, I pray today that you intercede with Our Lord for Jeannine and Kalyla. I ask that their doctors find a treatment that greatly benefits them. I pray for relief of their worry and pain. I pray for a miracle.

Thank-you for guiding mmm5's MRI and showing us things were OK.

    In Jesus's name. Amen.

    Laura,

That is an interesting question on the estrogen cream....it does sound safe since you are not ER+....perhaps you could try it awhile and see if you feel better?  Also....I have been reading the Exchange thread and saw that you are suffering with your arm pain....so I am lifting you up in prayer along with Jeannine in my Novena this week. We are here to pray for you, too....with all the ministering you do for every else...don't forget to ask for prayers for yourself here!

    God Bless each of you!

    Hi ladies,

Gosh Christmas was waaay better than expected.....I DID spend w/ family......no way to get out of the weather here.....freakish blowy white christmas eve and morning here but most melted by midday.  REALLY something to watch.

Not sure what happened(probably your prayers!) but I just woke up Christmas am felt good about it and decided to go...I had SUCH cabin fever and honestly some of this 'world is out to get me' is I think a bit of depression  and just limited ability due to being 2 weeks post op.  SOoooo surprisingly good time w/ my niece's new fiancee...he is a riot.  They are supposed to come over and help me hang pictures.  AND the 1st generation nieces and nephews who span from 18 to my age almost ALL asked what they could do said call them anytime, etc.....It was very nice.......AND a much more feasible plan for the future as my siblings are now pushing or in their 60's and many just NOT in the greatest of health.

Had show and tell, that turned into "can I touch them?" of reconstructed breasts in the bathroom w/ nieces aged 25 and 32 who have not only me but another first degree relative w/ much more aggressive BC.....They are scared.  They couldn't believe how good mine looked BUT how do you walk the fine line advising good early screening, awareness, vigilance but not fear?  Esp in the age of these ridicuous new guidelines?  sigh!

I guess perhaps this leads into my thought as I read what someone wrote and reiterated earlier.....I think of what the angels say when they appea in the bible...seems they like to preface there announcements w/ what we all need to hear:  " FEAR NOT!"

Have an awesome Tuesday and continued Happy Holidays!

    Good Morning Sisters in Faith,

First of all I want to thank you all so dearly for the beautiful prayers and Novenas you have prayed for me.  I must say, similar to PlainJane I woke up on X-mas Eve renewed, rejoicing in our Lord and just happy to be alive! My X-mas was wonderful and have been feeling uplifted ever since. We didn't even plan on anything X-mas day and we had a house full. It was was great. I know the Lord is working OT for me!

I also got a call from UCLA today. Very good chance I may get into the Phase 3 PARP trial.  2 -1 chance that I'll receive the drug.  The Lord knows I need it and I will receive it! Also my Oophorectomy surgery set for 2/2. (This is outpatient and minor).  2010 is going to be promising year I know it.

3M: I'm so happy your MRI is clear! Amen. What a relief huh?

St. Peregrine: Please continue the intecessory prayer for all men, women and children suffering from cancer. In Christ we pray Amen.

Ladies, have a blessed week! God Bless.

    Jeannine Smile

2010 is going to be great!  Jeannine glad to hear your holiday was good.

Laura no need to be such a martyr. We want you alive and healthy -it's ok to ask!  As a matter of fact....the book I read by Peggy....Huddleston I think...she's a chaplain-Not catholic but it is a good read....I read it before stage one....and it has GREAT relaxation guided imagery exercises....Prepare For Surgery Heal Faster is the title.......there is evidence(scientific) as well as our faith of course....BUT the power of prayer....there was literally a study that SHOWED people who were prayed for had better outcomes.

Dec 30th from daily catholic Bible:  "God always was, and is, and will be; or better, He always is:  'Was' and 'will be' are portions of time as we reckon it, and are of a changing nature.  he, however, is ever existing.  he gathers in himself the whole of being, because He neither has beginning nor will He have an end.  he is like some great Sea of Being, limitless and unbounded, transcending every conception of time and nature."  St. Gregory Nazianzus

Love, prayers, continued intercessory prayers please from Agatha, Perregrine and Hey! all those we've aforementioned on this very thread who've passed before us too......noone knows like them!

amen!  Have a great wednesday ladies!

    The Poem
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
    That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die
    I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
    For in his hands God! held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
    'Your name I cannot find
I once was going! to write it down......
    But never found the time'

If you look at what you do not have in life,
    you don't have anything,

If God brings you to it, He will bring you
    through it.
    Happy moments, praise God.
    Difficult moments, seek God.
    Quiet moments, worship God.
    Painful moments, trust God.
    Every moment, thank God.

    Happy New Years!

So today is:  Mary Mother of God (World Day of Prayer for Peace) per the daily Catholic Bible.

Per Saints:  A Year in Faith and Art:  "This was the first feast dedicated to Mary to be inserted in the liturgical calendar of the Western Church.  The divine maternity of Mary was proclaimed church dogma at the Council of Ephesus(431); in more recent times, the Second Vatican Coucil(1962-65) made the meaning explicit:  "that Christ should be recognized, in the truest sense, as the Son of God and the Son of Man."  Before this feast was inserted in the revised Roman Catholic calendar, the first day of the year had been dedicated to remembrance of the Circumcision of the Lord, which took place eight days after his birth as prescribed by Jewish law."

So yes, my inquiring mind was NOT sure of the who, what, where, why of this Holy day?  But I guess that's the still NOT totally clear explanation. And must admit I'm still a bit too ignorant I guess on the whole circumcision(religion and circumcision connection)?????  But perhaps that is a bit more of son of God, son of Man?  who knows....Maybe we'll get a better explanation at service today.  I really should go consult all my references feel sure there is a better explanation.....I'll get back to you all...BUT again this is probably an area of ignorance for me!

    HAPPY HAPPY NEW Year!

Intercessory prayers requested from our favorite saints; Perregrine and Agatha....GOSH was thinking again about the pilgrimage I want to make to Sicily for Agatha's feast in early February.....Just not sure my body could do it this year as I'm still just not up to snuff and that is lots of miles and bags to carry.......VERY much know the future and 2010 will bring us many GOOD blessings...I JUST have the faith!

Love, prayers and the BEST new years wishes!

A blessed, happy and healthy new year to all my sisters!  I am going to go to a retreat on January 15-17th in Ohio.  Immaculee Ilibigaza, a Rwandan survivor of the 1994 genocide will be leading the retreat.  Her story, Left to Tell, was  great.  I had forgotten that the Blessed Mother appeared in Rwanda; anyway, one of the visionaries will be at the retreat to share her story.  Can't wait!  Anyone interested in going with me? xo

Laura....looking to hear you say 100% better...will continue prayers for you and Jeannine and all my sisters here...

Lovemyfamily...where in Ohio??  Do you have specifics, website etc?  You never know...I so wanted to do a retreat before heading back to work on Monday (first time in over a year!) , but could not pull it off with the holidays...I read her book and was very moved by it!  I go to Ohio to Marantha Springs in Elyria and The House of Prayer (Christina Gallagher's) in Steubenville....so if the timing works you never know.  Friday night would probably be difficult but what the hey...

Last nite hubby and I did a movie, bagel sandwiches for dinner (his favorite food!)  and midnight Mass with adoration!  I did not think he would go along with that....but I prayed to St. Jude and it worked! ;)  I just so wanted to thank God, Jesus and our Blessed Mother for all their protection in 2009.  And I prayed for each one of you here on this thread as well last night!  I was so blessed to have the opportunity to end and start the New Year praying in fron of the Blessed Sacrament! I know each of you will get special graces from the prayers prayed for you last night!

    God Bless!
