Happy 2010 Sisters! It's also my 43rd birthday today and I am so blessed and thankful to celebrate another year that the Lord has given me. I am also so greatful to the fellowship from all my beautiful sisters here. You have been such a motivation and inspiration. Amen!!
We had a beautiful mass today and they said double prayer intentions for my b-day and health. The Lord is great! I find out tomorrow when the PARP trial begins. Double prayers here. I have a good feeling...
I'm so happy you're feeling better Laura! I am getting better too. I feel the same way, "Don't let the fear of tomorrow, rob your joy today". I choose to be happy and rejoice in each day!
I will also keep Watson, Kayla in my prayers.
St. Pergrine and St. Agatha: Please continue the intecessory prayers for all our sisters suffering. In Christ we pray Amen.
Have a blessed week.
Jeannine

May I chime in here and request a few to be included in prayers? I just took my night time pill for sleep and I'm hoping to make sense of it before it knocks me out or before I have to come back tomorrow and edit my post. (wait, this sounds familiar... i guess i'm developing a bad habit)
My personal minor requests are for some healing for me from the dang constant cold and flu virus i keep picking up and keeping me awake at times. These things are knocking me down pretty good. I'd also like to be included in some prayers as I return to Louisiana sometime late next week to take care of things and bring all of my excess stuff here. I will be stressing out over it a bit. My first major move.
I would also like to ask that some of the women hear be included in prayer. These are women who have gotten the diagnosis and decided to begin living life at it's fullest. Live for today without regard of what tomorrow may bring. I don't want to give any examples that might point toward any of them. There are some here who have made some drastic changes that could end for the better, but, might possibly not end well.
And also for some of the women on this forum who feel that they have lost their value as a women by loosing their breast(s) or hair. That they may be able to see themselves as they are and love and accept themselves as they are without the need to rely on external appearances.
And definitely for Watson! I've not had the opportunity to follow up on all of her posts but I have read a few and I love her humor.
Thanks!!

Thanks for your post...Marie...I will certainly pray for your healing from this dang cold, flu thing that seems to hit just about everybody....and for your move next week! I hope it goes well for you and that in the end you are happy with your move!
I know what you mean (I think?) about living life to its fullest! I pray that the women on BC.org understand that God is the fulfillment of life...not all the trappings that this world would like us to believe in.
We are so accustomed to using our physical appearance as the barometer to our attractiveness. It is normal but often is taken to an obsessiveness that will never allow for true freedom as we are all getting older and would have had sagging boobs and thinning hair anyway.....
BC can really play havoc on our sense of worth...it is not fun physically, emotionally or psychologically for so, so many of us. And the hormonal changes can be a real trip! Again a healthy spirituality that understands that how we look in God's eyes is the best barometer can be difficult to grasp when you see and feel so at odds with yourself. I know I have read many posts where I just feel sad about how some women are handling this disease. I wish that they had the gift of faith that would give them healthier approaches to their life's circumstances. I pray for all of these women...in Jesus name, Amen
Thanks for your thoughts tonight!
God Bless!

OK, time to call in a few chips, lol. I'm supposed to have recon surgery at the end of the month. Unfortunately, the hospital has not signed a new contract with my insurance company (it expired 12/31/09). I'm so unsettled, it's been hard to focus. Plus it's thrown me into a slight depression. Please pray for a resolution SOON. I have to make plans...either move ahead and live with the extra charges (or hope it is resolved before my surgery) or cancel in the next day or so.

I am so glad to find you here with all of your prayers. My prayers are with all of you and I pray for healing and peace. I just stopped at my church yesterday to turn over my teaching supplies, unfortunately I felt it was better if I give up my Catechism teaching until next year. Anyway, I was given a gift from a very lovely lady at church. She gave me Pontiff Pio's Holy Oils and prayed with me and then annointed me with the oils. It just happened that she found out about my cancer right after she had gotten the oils. she said it had to have been meant for me.
Thank you for all the great posts and prayers on here.

Laurak1 keeping you close in prayer, lots of girls here have had things show up on the lungs and they end up being from flu or pnemonia that they had years prior. It can be alot of things. I do know how scared you are because I have been in your shoes...Just to let you know it's over 22 years since I was first diagnosed and 6 1/2 years since my second diagnosis in the other breast. My daughter was 34 and had breast cancer in both breasts 5 1/2 years ago, yup 6months after me. We are both fine, she is an avid skier and teaches at a local mountain not far from where we live. I am so proud to watch her come down the mountain as i watch heads turn, when she goes by. She is amazing.
JESUS, be the merciful GOD that we know you are and touch this young lady with your BLESSED ASSURANCE that you are with her and you love her and know how frightened she is and that you will be present with her when she goes to the doctor. Give her that beautiulf PEACE that all things work for good for those who are in CHRIST JESUS and that you will never leave her and never forsake her. JESUS WE TURST IN YOUR MERCY, HAVE MERCY ON US OF LORD AMEN

Oh ladies I just love this thread and wish I could spend my time praying many hours per day for all in need here.
Laurak, I am so glad you found us and welcome. I am praying for you today to calm your fears and that your pathology from lungs is B9. I am suspect with such a small tumor and no lymph nodes that it would be in your lungs already. Did you have a path report and is it HER 2 + for sure? What about LVI/positive or negative. I am sorry you have to go through all of this upon diagnoses, but NJones is right things show up on the lungs all the time that are B9. In the mean time I am praying for you and have added you to my Novena.
NancyD I am praying for you to, that the holy spirit is with you and lifts your spirits. I pray that you have a resolution soon and that the outcome is positive and peaceful.
NoniJ- I got your PM and cried like a baby, it meants so much to me. When I can read it again without balling I will answer you but know that your presence here has touched me in such a way that thank you would not be enough.
Ladies be well, be strong in faith and lets continue to pray the Novenas, I am every day for those that I have mentioned. I would appreciate you keeping me in your prayers as well as still struggling with a lot of back pain and may have to go through another round of scans OMG enough already, I am holding off and trying very hard just to relax and pray and deal with it in holistic ways....but it is so very challenging. Pray that I find peace!
Much Love Michelle

Laurak1, Michelle....and (((Nancy))) praying for each of you and all my sisters here this evening.
Ladies...please continue to pray to our Lord that His will be done and that we accept it with His grace....then TRUST in Him! "Jesus I trust in You" is a very, very powerful prayer! It doesn't necessarily give us the healthy carefree outcomes we think is best for us....it allows for Jesus' will to be done in and through us! TRUST in Him, pray the prayer...and believe that you are in His tender care. He holds each of us in the palm of His hands....and is walking this walk with each of us!
Hugs to each of you....
God Bless!

I had to make a decision by today in order to let my sister make plans. She's coming to care for me and needed to book a flight, etc. So my decision is to go ahead and have the surgery...I won't cancel. I found out that if they sign a new contract after my surgery, it will be retroactive to January 1 and I will be reimbursed. If they don't, well, then I'm still ahead...I will have my new breasts and will be moving on with my life.
I will take the extra $$ from the money I was saving to buy a home. As everyone has said, God will show me the way. A few months ago, I didn't have this much money. It came from a trust my father had set up for us that was dispursed after he died. Some of my siblings think I'm being frivolous and superficial, so I have their disapproval to contend with. They told me I can live without breasts but can't live without a roof over my head, blah, blah, blah. They already have homes of their own, but I never got the chance to buy my own place, and for some reason, they think I should want that more than a whole body. I do want it very much, but I think the priority right now is to get my body back together.

Oh Nancy
I am so glad you were able to share with us. DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR FAMILY!!! They have no idea what you have been through and go through daily. You are making the right decision, because it is good for you to know what you want and go for it. It has nothing to do with a house vs breasts it has to do with healing, and listening to ourselves. I am sure with our prayers and your faith GOD is guiding you to the right decision. I am sure it is as much about healing and inside and out as it is about just new breasts. I think it is one step at a time, and I am the kind of personality that wants to deal with my healing first and then maybe I could enjoy the house. But right now it is about you and your healing. Keep pushing the hospital and your ins. company, write letters and don't take no for an answer. I work in the Med field and know what you can do if you are persistant. This will all work out in it's natural course.

I agree with Michelle... this is your life Nancy, your choices. Maybe the Lord will let you have a whole body again AND a home of your own,,, OH I AM EXCITED FOR YOU!! This could soooooooooooo be your year...:)

I missed 3 Masses after Christmas.. 2 Sundays and New Years (a holy day of obligation). I was travelling and there were literally no Catholic churches where I was. Went to Mass this morning tho and will again tomorrow and Friday. We are having blizzardy weather and have snow days. I just live a couple blocks from church and can walk. It's a real pleasure to attend a morning Mass... starts my day off right.
