Hi Ladies, I sure hope you can be in two places at once cause I could sure use some support on Friday also.  I am having a bone density test done after breaking my toe while I was in bed asleep. What a way to wake up! Since I need to look after my bones might I suggest some milk and cookies for the PP?

While I am having my test done I am going to shut my eyes and teleport my self (cookies and all) to join all of you at Kat's pocket party as well.

Thru' the magic of virtualness, we can easily accompany both Kat and jcolford on Friday.  Luckily, the treats can be in two places at once also.

I am feeling a little less poisoned with each passing day.  Those of you who have done chemo know what i am talking about!!!!!!!!!

Jo Anne - teleporting is magical on here. I think milk and cookies is perfectly appropriate for a pocket party. What kind of cookie is your favorite? If you haven't had a bone density b4 they are easy, peasy. Lie on you back, wedge under your knees. Over with quick. I don't think I took a thing off for it but maybe a belt on my jeans. I think maybe 10 minutes but then I've had several so just take them in stride what with everything else we have had to do. I had 2 b4 BC came along. I'm due for one next year.

Thanks Luv I have had so many tests over the past year. Each time I see my gp he wants me to have another test done. I know he is being proactive and I wouldn't want a doctor who didn't seem to care but it sure is hard getting past cancer and treatment when they continue to poke and prod every chance they get.

You are so lucky to have goats, I've always wanted fainting goats but I think my dogs would bother them too much.

jcol, I'm in for the party and agree that the bone density is among the easiest and quickest. We can finish the cookies afterward!

Eli, love that you're feeling what I remember very well....that 'I'm getting away from chemo' feeling. Aaaahhhhhhh :)

Eli, good job! And, boy, do I know what you mean about the poisoning. Such a weird feeling.

By the way, has anyone suggested checking you for PTEN mutations AKA Cowden's syndrome? I am toying with getting it done, but I don't know much about it.

Momine, I read the description of Cowden's.  I doubt I have that, as it says most have characteristic skin lesions/growths.  That's not me.  I do think I could have some kind of gene that is good at growing cancer, but it may be less obvious and, as yet, undiscovered.

On that thought, I really do wonder if my boys are at an increased risk to come up with some kind of cancer in their lifestimes.

Jcolford and Kat- It's helpful to have a split personality (just look at my slightly crazy avatar) so I will be there for both of you. I'll bring decadent pastries and the most fattening Starbucks creation to Kat's surgery in the am.  Kat, since it's virtual, you can even have some!  If Jcolford's test is later in the day I'll bring some chocolatey delishishness to that.  I never was much for chocolate first thing in the morning, but there's no stopping me after noon. Never could go for the chocolate croissants though.  Those are just weird.

Eli, I had read that too, and had the same reaction, but I wonder if something is up all the same.

    A two-pocket party it is!

As much as I like chocolate, I can't do it in the morning either.  How about these apple & walnut oatmeal raisin cookies with milk for breakfast?

This looks like something our Queen of Tarts might make!

Yummy! Now this looks chocolate-y enough...

Oh yum! While I am not a big cookie fan I will do somersaults for cheesecake! (what a picture - a premature grey haired, overweight one boobed crazy lady doing flips). Glad to hear that the bone density test is a piece of cake. The test is at 9:20 am so you will be off in lala land Kat. I feel much better going for this test thanks to all of you lovely ladies.

Haha, jcolford, we can have all the cheesecake we want!  How about a little something from The Cheesecake Factory?

I hope everything goes well for you and Kat tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you both!

And speedy healing to you Kat!  Try to take it easy afterwards (easier said than done, I'm sure).  And I hope you can get your hands on all the chocolate-y deliciousness you desire!

Was I trying to be provocative with the pic at the top...or do I just like donkeys?  Maybe a little of both.  Can't say they don't look cute!

I seriously want one of those apple/raisin/walnut cookies tomorrow morning with my tea.  Food is SO GOOD these days now that I am getting my saliva back.  Ice cream actually tasted like ice cream tonight.  I could just go on and on about food now.

One thing that was peculiar about my taste buds during all my chemo, I really liked yellow mustard.  I had to have it on something every day.  I've always liked it in small amounts, but I had to have it on meat, cheese, hot pretzels, a cracker, on a daily basis.  I liked limeade a lot too.  Chemo gave me more "cravings" than when I was pregnant.  Once I found a food item that did not have its tasted altered by the chemo, then I REALLy wanted that food.  That's what it was.  I liked more salt in my food the whole time too.  That was not like me, but I had to do whatever I could to make foods tasty.

You might hear a lot about food in the next few weeks.  I can't help it.

Keeping good thoughts for all those having tests. I am so dang happy that I won't gain any of those nasty LB's eating all that fantastic cyber food while waiting in the wings with you gals. Trying hard to keep on my small track of eating well...

In the pocket and having some tea.  Don't worry, I brought a saucer, so no spills or soggy pockets.  Gook Luck ladies.  I know the bone density test is quick and easy, so fear not, jc.  We'll be here when you wake up Kat.

Eli- Eat up during the pp's today.  You have some catching up to do, and now that food is catching your eye and tasting good to your buds again you have the responsibility of sucking down all of the calories from our virtual feasts.  Yes, I know virtual feasts don't normally include calories.  But did you see HnS's cheesecakes?  There's got to be some in there.

    Meece- how are you?

Hi, chrissyb!  I hope you are doing well also.  Stop by anytime.

A new cancer breast cancer drug got approved in Japan.  Hardly surprising, since the name sounds like Godzilla.  I don't make this stuff up.

While I was having a chuckle, I noticed that U.S. approved it in Feb.  Actualy, it is something for late-stage HER2+.  Nothing the normal brain would laugh at.

Hey, all. I'm Susan. Just about to turn 49 and got me some breast cancer. Can I come in to play?

Elimar, that drug is actually Herceptin with a chemo agent. It delivers the chemo directly to the cancer cells so is supposed to be much less toxic to the patient's healthy parts. I told my oncologist last year that I wanted Kadycla for Christmas. Hopefully they'll approve it for early stagers as well. I was on weekly taxol and herceptin for 5 months. That was a rough ride. :-)

Thanks everyone for the pocket party, I almost needed suspenders to carry you all! You were right a bone density test was easy-peasy! Hoping Kat is feeling okay and not too many se's after surgery.  This is not a time to be brave - BRING ON THE PAIN MEDS!

Hope you all have a spectacular weekend!

I've been trying to read all the posts I have missed. You girls are always busy. I have been in such a dark place lately that I couldn't even stand being around me. My primary doc thinks that the whole stage IV finally hit, you think???? Top that off with the Aromasin and it's not even pretty. I either want to lunge at someones throat or cry. Crying hasn't helped much so all I can say is it's a good think scarf season is near. The stable boy did perk me up a bit. Hey Barsco, maybe you loan him for a bit.

A woman told me that once you are stage IV you can get your Social Security. they have what they call a compassionate allowance which speeds things up in weeks instead of months or yrs. It would have been nice if one of the doctors knew about this or the cancer centers social worker. Below is the link of all the wonderful ways we can qualify. Frown

    http://www.ssa.gov/compassionateallowances/conditions.htm

The shop is going ok. I had to fire the first girl I hired. She would not do anything the way I would ask her to. She would mumble wise remarks under her breath, but I always heard them. A customer told me when they paid cash she put the money in her pocket. She had to go. Cash sales are up $100.00 a day since she has been gone. Some people just suck.

I have a new grandson, Denver William, who was born on the 10th. He is of course  beautiful with a ton of jet black hair like my son's. I do get really sad at the thought of not seeing him grow up. I guess reality did set in and I don't like it much.

I had a bone density test done and of course that wasn't good news either. WTF

Well, I am not going to bitch anymore. I hope everyone is doing great and has a fabulous weekend. I am going to try to put my big girl pants on and snap out of this.

Dianarose - ((hugs)) ((hugs)) and more ((hugs)). Sorry that you are feeling so down. I am definitely not opposed to sharing stable boy! He will surely lift your spirits. (and he has a great honky tonk bedonky donk)

Reality does suck sometimes. But on the other hand - a new grandson! That is terrific. Of course the future is uncertain but focusing on the present will help you to enjoy each and every moment that you do have with him.

Thank goodness your loyal customer alerted you to the little thief behind the counter. It's unbelievable what some people feel that they are entitled to. Good bye to bad rubbish I say.

As Loral said - we love you and are here for you anytime!
