    Yea, Octo!

We got home in one piece after a nice, uneventful flight. I grocery shopped, sorted through the mail and went to yoga. I am now going to crash because I've been up since 4 am.

2Fun, on my running playlist some good ones I have are Fitz and the Tantrums, clean bandit, Calvin Harris, and Los Amigos Invisibles.

Ran 5k today, no music, on the road from my house down to the school and back up. The misty rain felt good.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day got to do two Body Combat classes, my regular saturday one where this picture was taken, the instructor had everyone get in a circle and she and I were in the middle and we "taught" a couple of tracks together and then off to another gym for 30 minutes with an instructor who shares the same birthday as me, then spent time with my friends who did a really nice late lunch and we played Farkle which is a super fun game that we have become obsessed with, lots of laughs. Than being said on monday I wrenched my back so I've been off the exercise train all week, hope to hop back on tonight as I'm feeling much better.

Wohoooo Octo great news. Hi Scottie great to see you. LB you will be amazing (remember I know cause I've taken your class) I saw the NTNU article but I just want to say that push up position looks like it is for a tricep push up, your hands should be parallel with your shoulder they look like the hands are under the shoulder which is a tricep push up and its perfectly acceptable to do push ups on your knees as you're still building your shoulders.

I went to Pound and Bone Builders this morning, took the grandpuppies for a walk this afternoon, and am contemplating yoga this evening (one of the ladies at the studio which will be closing wants to try a class at the community fitness center, and she is nervous to go alone, so I said I would try to be there). We are under a winter weather advisory tonight and a winter storm warning tomorrow. Spring????

    Octo: enjoy the water!

Cheryl: What a fun birthday you had! Sorry about your back :(

Karen: I feel the love for your dd from CO to NC.

Ruth: It was 75 degrees here today and very Springlike outside. Try to stay warm by looking at your AZ pictures.

LB: I also went to the grocery store for a big shop. I'm serving Easter lunch to 11 people on Sunday and didn't want to go when it will be crowded tomorrow.

Hi All! Walked/ran yesterday and today.

So my training program for week 2 is delayed. I only have walked one day, Tuesday. My HIIT runs did a number on my spine. I ran on the asphalt path last time, perhaps it will help if I run on the dirt and limestone trail or even the grass. I will try it one or two more times, and then I may have to give up and use stairs or a hill, or switch to the bike. Weather has been cloudy/rainy making it unmotivating to get out, but I will force myself to do something today.

Not related to exercise, but definitely related to health and breast cancer. People that eat at restaurants have way higher level of phthalates than those who prepared most of their food at home. Bummer. First we find there is plastic in bottled water, which at least I don't drink, but now this.

That survivorship program is a great idea. Since the majority of us are still in treatment, and all of us are still followed closely for a number of years, they SHOULD focus on those issues.

Don’t even know how it happened but down I went! Ankle is not quite as sore this morning but it’s still puffy. More cooking to do today to get ready for the sedar tonight. Hope the ankle holds up and doesn’t interfere with walk walking. TIme to get busy. I’ll try try to check in later , but in case I don’t get back today have a good weekend and Happy East

Cheryl and Karen, hope those body parts hold up. Octo, have fun in the water.

Yesterday was a 30 minute fun run (slow) around the house while it was raining outside. Then did some bodyweight exercises capped by 10 elevated pushups from the seat of a chair. Today played squash with DD and her boyfriend.

Fingers crossed for you TH. Ruth I saw a weather map and you sure look like you're not going to be able to wear your spring outfit for Easter!! Karen ouch that sure sounds like a painful fall, hope you are doing better. Wonderland you should post your blossom photo here so everyone can see how pretty you are, it's a gorgeous picture.

Finally got some exercise today, took myself off to the gym and did RPM using my iPad and my Les Mills On Demand app, was heading to the gym last night but ended up at the walk in clinic as my friend who is here from the U.K. is sick, he went on a fishing trip two weeks ago and came home with a cold that has progressively gotten worse and now he has a chest and ear infection. My back is much better but as I was riding the bike today I discovered my sciatic nerve and my neuroma were in play it's all related so I'm going to foam roll later tonight.

Youch, hope everyone who is injured gets healed up ASAP!

We got about 3 inches of snow last night and are in a Winter Storm Warning from now into tomorrow; we shall see what morning brings (even without snow, it wouldn't be Spring Frock Season as the temperature is 7 degrees!). I did a very fun Dance Attack class tonight. I do miss my classes when I'm on vacation!

Did 60 min of strength/hiit workout this afternoon.

The snow is flying here...just started in the past 45 min. We have been upgraded to blizzard warning overnight into tomorrow morning. Had my long run planned for tomorrow outside and instead will meet a friend at the indoor arena to run 8 or 9 miles in the morning. He is training for the same half and has a min of 7 to run so we can keep each other company for a few miles. I have never ran that far on a treadmill or track. I always run my long runs outside and usually by myself. Our families camp together so we have ran together when camping. I think I talk too much though! 😂 We had 4 inches of new snow last night and 5-9 is forecasted for tonight. I feel like spring is a long way off for yet for us. 😖

I agree the survivorship is necessary for all of us and I am excited to see how the program works. I quickly found out it was a scary feeling finishing up treatment. Not the happy/excited feeling I was expecting. Nice to have a team I can turn to if I have questions. Had a few questions the PA couldn't answer at my appt on Monday and she called me back twice on Tuesday with the answers. Will see the therapist on Monday morning again.

yoga this morning. It's so beautiful out today. The little DS loves to hide eggs so we can hunt for them- getting my steps in that way!

Karen, hope your lower back is better!

We got about 4 more inches of snow & there's a cold north wind that blew it around all day. Bah! DH hadn't snowblowed the driveway this morning (I shoveled it out yesterday), so I bundled up and trudged over to the gym for yoga (only about 3 blocks) and did some time on the treadmill this afternoon.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, weather or not!

I got back on my bicycle and did about 18 miles. Let's just say that standing is more comfortable at the moment. But the most glorious spring day and it was wonderful to be out in the sunshine. The mountains are still beckoning, but the skiing is no longer what it was one week ago. And I have a 40 mile ride in 2 weeks. That will help whip my sorry hide into shape!

Right now, I am making bean soup with the leftover corned beef and stock. Still fine, and it should serve me well in the week ahead. Tomorrow, I am having my friend over for Easter. He is departing for sunnier climes in a month or so, so wanted to make sure that I got in more conversation time. Glad I called to confirm times as he had forgotten my invite!

Slow AM, but I did use the down time to finish my taxes. So just a quick look-over and I am done until this time next year.

    Happy Easter everyone! - Claire

Falconer, like your son hiding the eggs! Ruth, oh snow on Easter Sunday. HeidiHill, the thought of swiss chocolate eggs make me swoon!

Up early and feeling a bit sore from first day on yoga teacher training course - yet digging it! Lovely, like minded folks whom all are at a fairly high level of yoga proficiency and sure my teacher would say otherwise. Off to shower, dole out chocolate eggs to DH & DS and scoot out early - fee parking today, YAY!

    Have a fun Sunday everyone!

falconer, wish we had sunshine like that on our side of NY!

Happy Holidays, what ever you celebrate, and for those of you not celebrating, enjoy the day!

Did aqua aerobics yesterday. Hope to do so every day this week since we are on break for school holiday. Trying to drop 50 pounds...2 down, 48 more to go!

Running on the path was tolerable to my back so I can continue my fitness plan. I would enjoy it more on the bike, but since I hate running so much, I think it will be easier to see my progress. On my fat scale this morning, I finally reached the high of acceptable, not overweight, fat %. Woo-hoo. Yesterday I did a short 16 minute walk just to add some minutes but not overdo.

Happy Easter, everyone. I could say Happy Spring to those who don't celebrate but it seems like some are not getting spring either. I can relate - one year we built an Easter bunny snowman. I have many memories year after year of standing in the spring frock freezing cold while mom took the Easter picture!

Falconer - an Easter egg hunt! What fun to have young children.

Not my tree - wish it was. This is a photo of an Easter egg tree that a German couple did for fifty years. Beautiful but wow - a lot of work.
