Happy holidays to those who celebrate. We spent some nice family time this weekend. Busy but fun.
Waiting to see what this next storm brings tonight and tomorrow and hoping it is a non-event. We’ve already lost 3 days of ourApril vacation. No more snow. Come on spring!

Forced myself to do a 45 minute toning DVD. It is cold, cold and windy here, and we are in another Winter Weather Advisory for tomorrow. A majority of the country is going to be very cranky by the time this winter is over! (Ginger, they've already had to tack on a day to the end of the school year here.....that will certainly be 'fun' .)

well, I was all excited to get in the water but was heading out of town for a long weekend up in Sonoma, California visiting family and between getting ready for that and getting taxes done I never made it to the pool before I left. No problem, we were staying at a place with a pool, so brought the suit. and yeah, I know it is a tough life to have family to visit in Sonoma (and yes, the weather there was perfect).....Sadly, however, the Sonoma pool was not heated and was still just a bit too cold to stay in long enough to get any exercise...the hot tub did feel good, but that doesn't count as exercise.
Did a bit of walking through some vineyards. Hitting the pool at my gym tomorrow. Can't wait!

Most of the swelling in my ankle is gone... a little bruise is sore only if I press on it, so I guess I got pretty lucky. good walking day. I feel so bad, my older daughter lost the bracelet her DH gave her for her engagement...We all took turns re-tracing steps to see if we would see it. We're all hoping someone found it and will try to find the owner.
Spring break is over. One week is never enough. Only 2 months left in the school year....don't know if I should smile or worry about how much I need to get done between now and then.
Hope everyone had a nice Easter and happy April 1st

well, 2Fun, the sun is gone and we now have a snow day. I think it's coming your way. Today was our "make up" day so who knows when we will have to make up this one. Boo, winter!
I did 30 minutes of yoga and now sitting at the table grading the papers I hardly touched over break!0 -
UGH - the disappearing post! I hate when that happens. So here is a condensed version. Back from 10 days in DC where we ate more than we exercised away, for daughters baby shower and helping her get house ready for new baby. Did nice blue moon walk of monuments, and cherry blossoms not quite in full bloom but still beautiful. Got back last night and woke up to snow this morning, which hasn't stopped.

Lovely photos, pat01.
Not sure I should keep posting here. I’ve had so much trouble with my back and sciatica lately, that I haven’t been able to exercise (read: haven’t been pushing myself to exercise) as much as I should. But yesterday was such spectacular ski weather, I went out on the lake twice despite the pain. Skied a total of 16.5 km; haven’t done that much in one day in years. Yes, it made my back worse, but it was SO worth it! Added up all the skiing I’ve done this winter and was surprised I’ve done about 100 km. That’s more than I’ve skied in one season in years. Wet snow is falling today, then warmer weather and rain are predicted, so I guess the next good skiing will be next winter (I only ski on the lake these days).
Wishing everybody a great week. You are all such an inspiration.

tessu, I am so sorry that you're having such back trouble. I'm glad you got out to ski. I'm posting a link to a yoga teacher in Finland whomI've taken a few classes with here in the US. Perhaps he can point you in a direction to help you get relief. Best to you!

tessu, please keep posting even if your exercise is less than you'd like. We all work within our limits...
Love the DC photos! I will be there first week in May; I imagine the cherry blossoms will be gone by then...

Of course you should post, Tessu!
I LOVE Washington, DC. We were there last fall and had the best time.
I subbed today and went to Zumba & Yoga tonight.

Barely any steps today. Sat in 4 trainings today plus 1 hour supervision with my intern. The trainings were all back to back so no time for a break!!! The next couple days I'm taking the bus to work so the kids can have my car, so I will definitely get steps in!! I'm 10 minute walk to the bus and then a little bit of walking once I get off the bus.

Tessu......congrats on making it a ski winter!! I just love being out there. I will say that I needed a lot more ibuprofen for a couple of years post chemo and then during AIs than I do now. Why I love winter so much.
The flowers are unfolding here, though still quite chilly overall. But that means that they hold their bloom for ages. I need to focus on cycling as last weekend was taxes and Easter. I think that signing up for the two cycling events coming up just might be what I need.
Happy Spring everyone! - Claire

Tessu, amazing winter ski miles! Falconer, that yoga link looks great. The Salento event takes beginners. Might be just what I need. Scottiemom, hope your back continues to improve. Love the photos, pat and that Easter egg tree, TH.
Got in a nice bike ride with DH yesterday and tonight it's salsa time.

Hello everybody! Ruth invited me so I thought I'd stop by. I'm not really doing an exercise routine right now. I'm doing physical therapy for a frozen shoulder. So my current exercise routine is my homework given to me by my PT. Mostly stretches with a walking stick up and down, diagonal, side to side. And then what I call "wax on, wax off" and "paint the fence" on the wall with a towel. Lol (Those of you who remember "Karate Kid" know what I'm talking about.)

Hello! Ran 3miles @ the indoor arena yesterday and will either run 4 miles at arena or will do a strength/hiit workout at home and walk a few miles at the arena later. It is COLD and windy here today, as has been the norm for the past week. Never have I worn a winter coat to church before on Easter Sunday (or maybe I have blocked from my memory!). Current temp today of 14* F but feels like -2*F 😖...I made chili for supper! I am so very jealous of those of you actually having a spring right now!
Ruth I saw that on Facebook this morning...I laughed, then cried!!!
Welcome Ocean!
Great job to all! Awesome workouts and exercise!

Zumba, Bone Builders & Yoga today. All of which I needed mentally as we got some very bad news last night. DH's best friend ever since college checked into a hospital a month ago for a routine surgery, got a staff infection which they were not able to get under control, and he DIED last night! DH had talked to him several times when we were in Arizona and he sounded frustrated but otherwise totally normal, so it was a complete shock. He lived in Minneapolis and the funeral is Saturday. I am hoping the weather will behave enough so we are able to go.

Oh Ruth. I am so sorry you and your husband have lost such a dear friend.

Ruth, I am so so sorry for your loss....Sending deep condolences to you and hubby, and hugs. Take care and I really hope the weather cooperates so you can be there for the funeral.

Ruth: I am so sorry about your dh's longtime friend. What a terrible shock. Hugs to you and dh.
Welcome Ocean.
Just finished reading all the posts. We are having spring tempertures unlike many of you. Today was 80 degrees but it's suppose to turn cold again and rain.
I took advantage of the warm weather and yesterday dh and I spent hours weeding our garden space. Haven't touched it all winter and it was loaded with weeds. Today I continued with yardwork and pruned limbs on trees and bushes. Walked/ran both days.

Windy and cold this morning. I didn't check the bus schedule before I left this morning and missed the bus by just a minute or two. I thought the bus ran more often than it did...so I had to wait 1/2 hour for the bus...longer than the bus ride (20 minutes). By lunch the weather was beautiful and sunny. Decided to walk part way to a different bus, then decided to keep walking and ended up walking the 1 1/2 hours home!! Great walk, but the last 15 minutes or4 so were long....I had my work bag and computer. But I would do it again!! I'm at a different school tomorrow that is near downtown and DH told me that I wasn't walking home tomorrow - he's right as its about 2 hour walk!! I'm not that crazy!!!

(((Ruth))), so sad about your DH's friend. Life is really so unpredictable. Ugh. Karen, maybe walk half the way tomorrow? Wonderland, you are keeping BUSY.
I lost my phone so I won't be able to sync my fitbit unless I learn to do it from the PC. So annoying. Now I don't have music to play while running. Maybe I will walk around the zoo and listen to the animals or buy a new phone already.

ruth, hugs to DH and you for your loss.
Did Sh'bam yesterday. Teacher struck me as one if those people that used to.be a dancer for a sports team. Not trying to judge, but it was kind of funny. 45 min was enough of that class for me!
