Has anyone experienced insomnia from Tamox? I have been taking since Jan 1 of this year with no problems but have been experiencing insomnia the last couple weeks. I take my pill at bedtime. Going to switch to earlier in afternoon starting today but just wonder if the tamox causing it? I have been a terrible sleeper I found my lump a year ago.😖
Falconer... know what what you are going thru. I needed a re-excision to get clean margins last summer. I do have a divot on my breast because of this. At my last radiation follow up appt 2 wks ago, my RO told me that he was putting a referral to a PS in my file for next fall. He said they could help with the divot. And I agree it was awkward. My bad boob also sits higher now and I do notice it even when wearing a shirt. I am having an oopherectomy this summer and am dreading it. I am sick of medical Drs and appts. I just don't think I want anymore surgeries or procedures or if the stupid divot even matters. Its only me and my hubby who see it. But also realiize if I want to do something, now is the time. I won't be a yr out from radiation until next Jan and wouldn't do anything before next summer when off on break. I am going to see if it improves and how noticeable it is in my swimsuit this summer and think on it some more. Wish you peace with your decision!
In exercise news my new running shoes arrive today so will get to use them this weekend on my long run! New running shoes=feeling like running on a cloud! It's the best!

I’ve been a little hesitant to post here in hopes to avoid seeming pushy (because it’s something I love so much) but that’s not what my fitness community is about, so here goes!
I do OULA ... it’s a dance fitness class. I’ve never personally done Zumba, but would say they are similar. It’s not about how it looks, it’s about how it feels ... so the focus is maybe a little more on intent.
It’s a growing program (there’s also a power version and yoga type class), so it’s not everywhere yet. oulafitness.com will give you locations or there’s a few classes to try online. The promo video there gives a clearer vision than what I feel like I provide
I’m not an “exercise person” but I love going to these classes. It’s always an hour of something I need without even knowing it

Yeah...finally hit my 10 lb goal ...it took 5 months, but that's life. Have reset Mr. Fitbit for 10 more...which is it for me. Hope to reach that weight and then can make some decisions about a revision. My implant was too big when it was put in last September, and after 20 lbs is just bigger still. Wanted to get to a for me normal weight before more surgery so we can get the right size and be done with it.
Just back from lunchtime pilates, got to the gym 4 of 5 days this week.
Happy weekend ahead. TT

HeidiHill, you look darling and what big bike tires you have! Mountainmam, welcome and exercise to music is great and terrific that you enjoy OULA. TrmTab, wonderful on weight loss. Runnermum, new kicks are heavenly.
Falconer, I've had a few diep revisions and had a somewhat similar situation, to what your PS has offered. A friend who is a senior nurse, told me Dr.'s offer this as a special gift..this is their talent and what they have to give and frankly, I was flattered. I asked for slimmer ankles, oh no, that is a difficult area to lipo - darn!. What I did receive was upper arm bra bulge lipo. You know, that little bit (or a lot) that sticks out from where the bra cup comes up and the skin where the arm creases. I bruise easily and takes forever on me to fade away. But you know, it quacked my duck. Go with your gut. There is no perfection, yet can get close to it, with a little help. Hey, I adjusted the sequence yesterday on a flexible friend; trying to keep practicing, leaning on bodies.
Had a better than average day today. Three classes, a sub in the morning for bodybalance, and success with all 3, crow/bird, bird in basket and bird in flight/firefly - yay. Pilates was a high and later in pm, seated tai chi for those with severe Parkinson's, they be clam and pleased. Beautiful blue sky spring day. Have a super weekend everyone and let's keep at it!

Runnermum, I did experience insomnia on tamoxifen, so I switched it to first thing in the morning. That helped, but I still had restless sleep, and leg cramps at night. After several months both of these side effects seemed to not be as bad.
Did a 2 mile neighborhood walk yesterday and classical stretch. Heading to the gym shortly so my son will be happy with me

Gorgeous blue sky today and high 60s today...so far 12K steps and I will get one more walk in today so getting back on track. Its supposed to be warm all week-end. We so needed the rain we got Wednesday night and yesterday....my trees appreciated the rain.
I think I mentioned that I was getting another school for May, well that changed!! I did my weekly update and for need - I put get settled into the new school and my supervisor responded to me that they need me to go there....Its fine by me, but it was less than 24 hours when I got told that I would be helping out. Oh well, only 4 more weeks till summer vacation!!
Have a good Friday.

Perfect day here too. Did a walk at lunch, 12 flights of stairs this afternoon, and just got back from another walk after work. Oh to have 300 days like this. 74 and sunny.
Falconer you do what you want. I only had a little lipo from the legs to put up top. If you are defintely having it anyway, its up to you. I will say the lipo is one of the mildest surgeries we encounter, but I am sure you are perfect enough now. My beef with all plastic surgery is implying we are not.
Trnmtab congrats on your weight loss. I can never understand how itts so easy to gain and so slow to lose.

Welcome, Mountain! I love music driven classes too...you hardly know that you are exercising when you are into the movement.
Congratulations on the weight loss, TT!
Subbed today & then went out for coffee with a school friend. We hadn't had a chance to gab since Christmas, so we had lots to catch up on. I am planning on a walk now & then will maybe throw in a toning DVD. I think I can finally drag out the capris, shorts etc. and put the rest of the sweaters in the spare closet. Woo Hoo!

hi all and welcome mountainmama. Good to see ya Nats!
Just did 90 mins Garden & Sculpt. Perfect weather to dig dandelions out of the flowerbeds. It rained the past few days so the ground was nice & soft. Also dug up a bunch of lilies of the valley that were growing out into the lawn. Transplanted them back along the foundation of the house. This may not have been the ideal time to transplant them but it was either that or mow over them.
Busy day 2moro. Planting flowers in the morning, visiting with mom in the afternoon, then meeting a friend for dinner and a show (Hot Rize at the Stoughton Opera House!). Have a great weekend, everyone!

falconer, I read back and am onto fat grafting myself this month. My PS asked a similar question, but after talking about it is to figure out where to do the lipo from that works the best for him and leaves me happy with my appearance. He’ll take as much as he can without it being looked at as just a lipo procedure I’m getting rid of the leftover baby fat. If we do a second round I’ll be picking another place! I’ve been happy with my body before all this but if getting a little bonus of some inches off I’m not passing it up

Thanks for weighing in, everyone, lol. I appreciate that you shared your opinions and experiences.
LB, glad to hear you're getting your adjustments in.
I ran 3 miles this morning. Now I'm on a Trailways bus to NYC. Seeing "Three Tall Women" with my MIL. I'll be getting some extra mileage in today for sure.0 -
This morning friend and I decided to try out a class called 'Strength'; which was an hour of weights, barbells, squats, planks, sit ups, push ups etc.etc......in other words, HARD but really fun too. We were quite proud of ourselves for being able to do it since we were from one to four decades older than anyone else in the room! I also took a little walk and have spent hours weeding out the closets. Instead of just moving the summer and winter clothes around, I actually tried everything on and got rid of things. DH is out of town this weekend (Runner, he is in South Dakota watching your goddaughter play softball) so I secretly put some of his clothes in the donation box (and some of the rattiest in the trash). Shhh, don't tell!.

I once burned some of my ex's T shirts in the wood stove. He wondered what the horrible aroma was. (Not why our marriage ended BTW.) He just needed an incentive to open some of the new ones in his drawer.
I have been weeding out as I go along and re-imagine my look.
Trying to get in enough training which has been difficult with all the other items on my plate, but making progress. 20 miles on my bicycle plus another 3 miles of walking today.
Glorious spring day here today with wisteria in full bloom. - Claire

Runner, DH has 3 sisters & 2 brothers in Aberdeen (plus nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & nephews) so he went down Wednesday; went to all the games & hung out with the family (I've been getting inning by inner reports too). Since they lost one today and have to play again tomorrow, he'll stay overnight again. Hard to come home before it's done when you've watched all the rest of it. I had a dentist appointment Wednesday & was subbing Thursday/Friday, so had an 'excuse' to stay home. I like softball and I like my in-laws, but 6 days of either and/or both is a little too much of a good thing for me.
Today I cleaned the house, went to a wonderful OUTDOORS yoga class, and am now babysitting the grand-dogs because their masters had afternoon/evening plans. We've gone on one long walk, done some yardwork, & will probably do another walk before they are picked up later tonight.

Great walk, but is already HOT out...Evening . walk after sun went down so more comfortable but still warm. 80s early this week. Too hot for my liking! Need to get back to walks before work!

Ran 3K and did some strength training and stretching yesterday. Will get out on my bike today, or I hope to because the sun is out!

Runnermom- love the shoe tags. I can’t wait to be able to run again. Ruth - the Strength class sounds great. We’re you sore the next day? Karen - agree that 80’s is way too hot, especially in early May.
PT last Thursday. Friday my exercise was packing boxes for the move. Did some gardening at the cabin over the weekend including spraying all the day lilies and hosted with anti-deer spray. That stuff works but geez it’s stinky to apply. Exercise class later this morning.

Nats, I was sore; but not as sore as I thought I would be.
Another nice day and no subbing assignment. A friend is thinning out her raspberry patch so I may go help her in return for some of the plants she wants to get rid of. Probably walking this afternoon and yoga tonight (my favorite teacher is retiring the 19th so I am trying to hit as many of her classes as I can).

Runnermom - Love the shoe tags! I'll be investing in some soon, no reason we can't accessorize while exercising, it's what separates us from the animals lol!
Ruth - High 5 on the weight class you took! Watch out, it can get addicting!
To all - Great workouts......keep up the good work!
I'm off for a leg day at the gym and by all accounts it looks like it might be leg day & cardio for a while. I helped my son rake the backyard last Thursday afternoon and by Friday morning my right wrist was in agony on the pinky finger side. I've been icing it and have it in a splint glove. A bit better today but still doesn't bear any weight or twisting without pain from the wrist up the forearm. I'm hoping it clears soon so I can get back on track. Very frustrating. I lift regularly, a few minutes with a rake and boom! I'm out of commission. Arrrrrggggggg!

My next door neighbor, who loves to golf, did the same thing to her wrist while trimming trees in her backyard this weekend; and is SO mad. Yikes, I'm staying out of the backyard!!!!

I am going to be Falconer and post a poem I love (which popped up on my Facebook page, I apparently posted it there four years ago....).
All that is gold does not glitter;
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither;
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Went to the gym yesterday for weights and cardio - starting to feel good! Todays exercise will be mowing, it's that time of year again. Tomorrow it will be a long car trip with a great reward, my brand new grandson!

Good poem, Ruth. It's funny for me to think of your yoga teacher retiring. That's my post-retirement career path! When I am done teaching 8th grade, I'll retire to the yoga studio!
Pat, looking forward to seeing you in grand baby bliss!0 -
ran four miles today after work

I was so hungry that I went to Zumba before Yoga (so I could 'earn' more calories back)! Will work for food
