Legs, legs and more legs. Increased weight on squats & lunges. 50 mins weight 40 cardio on arc trainer strength mode. If my wrist doesn’t get better soon I’ll have thighs the size of a Clydesdale. *neigh*

Ruth don't you love giving the younguns a run for their money, your strength class sounds like fun. Egads hope your wrist heals soon and Kim Kardashian makes a fortune with her hips and thighs so think positive. Congrats on the weight loss TrmTab. Pat I'm betting you're getting very excited to get hands on that new baby and hug your DD. Falconer I had a sports massage last week and the girl told me I had fantastically strong glutes - it's all thanks to all those squats I do. LB hope you had a good bank holiday, heard the weather was amazing. Mountainmomma I love to dance and really doesn't feel like you're working out.
I have been good on the exercise front getting back into my routine - last Thursday was my best day I actually got up early and did a 5.30am Sprint class then another at 5.30pm followed by Body Flow to stretch after, Saturday was Body Combat, Sunday Body Step and tonight went to Cardio Dance Party.0 -
Love the poem, Ruth! Falconer, I'd like to retire to the yoga studio as well but that is less likely than my being able to run 4 miles by age 65. I don't know why it seems to be harder to gain flexibility than endurance. Egads, hope you heal soon! Unfortunately our lack of estrogen paves the way for such injuries. It does get better with time.
Yesterday was a rest day except for a 10 minute jump cardio routine which got my heart rate going, Tonight is salsa but will have to supplement with something else if I want to report some weight loss on the weigh in thread.

On business trip in DC, so exercise is walking, walking, walking.
At lunch break went to Nordstrom's to get a bra fitting...needing help with my shrinking R side with weight loss and the 800 too big implant on L...never wanted it that big, thought I was getting 700...long story.
At any rate, having been okay but not totally satisfied with 38D/DD depending on style...the Nordstrom's fitter put me into a 4D! It fit and looks like a D in clothes, it just fully captures all the side boob and as it is an underwire, is sufficient to deal with the wideness of the implant.
Bought one and will see if I think it works...will have to cut out the tags (only kidding) as my husband would think I am insane with that size!
Happy Tuesday, enjoying the sun and 70 degrees, TT

Drats, Heidi, now I will HAVE to go back to that Strength class!
I subbed today. The teacher I filled in for is young without very good classroom management skills, so I really earned my money! I am off to POUND in a few minutes.
Happy Birthday to Karen!!!!

Egads - LOL on the thighs!!! I've been doing a lot more legs lately - myself!! Was doing squats - and Turbo-kicking moves - while cooking in the kitchen last night!!! I don't know why I love this stuff so much!!
Heidi - that's a very interesting study!!! Thanks for posting it!!
Hellos - to Everyone else!
On Sunday - did Turbo Kick. And, last night - "Insanity" and stationary bike.
But, after Insanity and before the bike - I spent about 20 minutes - looking for my car keys!! Thankfully they showed up!!! :-)

Tough but good PT today. They had me do some gentle lunges and squats and even a bit of step stairs work so it was nice to finally start some “advanced” moved.

Hi ladies-
Nice to find this thread as my "Starting Chemo Jan 2018" thread is losing its oomph, and the "Triple Positive" thread has way too much drama. At 57 I've been a mountain guide in the Tetons for 29 years, mountaineering in the summer and ski guiding/ teaching avalanche education in the winter. So I LIVE in my body, and bc felt like a bit of a betrayal, although I am more centered around it now. Exercise keeps me sane and modulated, as you know, in mental, physical, and emotional realms.
I never "really" got cleared to lift at the gym after mastectomy and axillary node removal in Jan, but did it anyway. No lymphedema whatsoever, which, after I learned about the risks, was a nice relief. Since Jan I have been able to add weights to my resistance routine, in fact. All winter I nordic skied, rode a fat bike, and did a bit of backcountry skiing. I was previously lined up to get a knee replacement in April, but that has gotten bumped til maybe October if I can stomach being laid up again. I made it through DD AC in good form, with only 2 down days per treatment, and now have 2 DD TPH treatments to go (every 3 weeks) and the next one is tomorrow. Full 25 set of radiation to follow. Mountain biking has been my salvage, however. We went to St George in January post-surgery, and again in April (great riding there, by the way), and I got 4 riding days in Sedona in March as a post-AC reward. Now our riding is opening up and I can feel myself relaxing into my body again. Did a 2-hour ride today and a weekend in Lander WY last week. Might just walk with the dogs tomorrow after chemo, though.
You all are inspirational!

Welcome Homemade! Great picture. You are very inspiring with all your activity!!!
Cheryl: Always love to read about your classes.
Hi Everybody! I had a blast with my girlfriends at the beach. We ate, walked, laughed, and laughed some more. Just what I needed! Been active since getting home. Lots of walking/running and of course push mowing.
We had a new deck built (the 28 year old one was rotten). I've been painting "deck art" to decorate the new one. Here is a lizard I painted today. Need to varnish it, put wire on it, and hang it up on a deck post.

Ohh, Wonderland, I do like the gecko! Welcome Homemadesalsa and bingo on sense of betrayal by our bodies, a place within the bc experience where many get stuck. I find your story very inspiring and the high level of fitness that you started treatment with has continued to place you in a perfect position for the the best optimum outcome - well done! Cheryl, good to read you are back at it with classes & life. Yes to this past 3 day weekend and between classes DH and I worked outdoors in the sun & heat on our field and front garden. I'm a hedge trimmer extraordinaire with our electric trimmer and tamed the acre long hedgerow. HeidiHill, thanks for the excellent link! Falconer, yoga teacher in putting on a adjustment workshop in July, before the August 2nd module of sequences, so I'm attending that as well. Nats, good luck on the move and happy for you both and that PT is going smooth. Three class day for me, so off to get Pilates lesson plans pulled together and jump in the shower. Let's keep at it!

Finally broke 16K steps today. Walked before work. I was downtown today for work and refuse to pay for parking so walked about 20 minutes in each direction. Now just need to keep it up. Too tired and lazy to walk tonight. Its barely 8pm and I'm ready for bed!!!

Karen, you found the upside of Denver’s parking problems!

Dear Homemadesalsa......
I am not quite as active as you are, but I was ahead of the curve in my resolve to exercise through active treatment. That winter was not good for skiing, but I did get to go once. I learned later that I had missed the "ice cubes" conditions on the Nordic trails. I cycled instead. What I did learn is that while I didn't shorten the time to full recovery, I didn't have much of the debilitation which afflicts so many breast cancer patients. This was 8 years ago, and has since been confirmed by a number of studies.
I was able to do the Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic (200+ miles over 2 days) within 6 weeks of finishing radiation. True it required energy potions and a lot of ibuprofen, but I did it!!!
I have a Metric Century on Saturday. The beer glasses accumulate as the most terrific swag ever. Fun to tell my beer or lemonade drinking guests that I WORKED for their imbibing vessel.
So congrats on everything you do and keep at it. You will be thrilled that you did.
Saying all this post 5 miles of running/walking. Metric century (Skagit Spring Classic) for Saturday. - Claire

I was also in DC this week, mostly for my consulting work, although I did go see the Museum of African American History and Culture (which was fantastic!). So, my exercise was also walk, walk, walk.....(along with some knee and leg exercises in the plane aise :-)) The weather was cooperative; it threatened rain several times but it never materialized.
Homemade, I recently had both knees replaced (right in November, left in February) and it has been well worth the PT and short time laid up (I was only in the hospital one night with each and up and walking right away). I was able to do so much more this trip, and tolerated the long plane ride much better than I would have done previously.....
Today I am getting caught up on laundry and stuff around the house; then heading out later today for a swim...

Wonderland your artwork is always lovely! How big is that piece?
Welcome Homemadesalsa.
Hi Everyone! Sounds like all is good on the world of exercise and recovery!
Went to yoga class last night. I tweaked my knee somehow so decided not to go for a run this afternoon. Came home and packed for the beach- heading to Jersey tomorrow after work.
Happy Moms Day to the mothers aunts grandmothers best friends women in the world who've been important in your lives and to you, amazing women. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Have fun at the beach, Falconer!
I went to Pound & Bone Builders this morning. DS and I met my cousin, his wife, and my aunt, who were in town for some appointments, for lunch. My aunt, who has memory issues, was repeatedly delighted during the meal to find out that I was 'Kathryn's daughter' (my mom/her sister) and that DS was 'Kathryn's grandson'. She also told DS that he should 'hurry up, find a girl, and get married', and declared that it was 'about time that the wood-ticks came out' (I presume because then it's really spring). So sweet! I'm off to Yoga in a few minutes. Namaste!

Record high of 90 today in Denver. Old record was high 80s. Walked before work today but waiting till it cools off a bit to walk..will probably wait till after dinner. Woke up this morning with really sore calfs.....not sure why, but they are so tight.
Orbitz sent me an email this morning saying that they haven't heard from the airline so they can't issue a ticket and to call them. So I called them and went online and the same flight was showing up. The guy who I could barely understand couldn't really explain the problem. They are still holding the reservation...but I went and booked a flight on Expedia....A few $ more, but same flight come home and same flight to Israel...only difference is the leg from Denver to Toronto but its all okay as its not so early in the morning. Got confirmation from Expedia (also did with Orbitz) so holding my breath to make sure nothing happen with this reservation.
3 more weeks and its summer vacation!!! Counting down...ready for the year to be over.

Sweet Sweet picture, Ruth!
Falconer: The lizard piece is 10" x 8" (at the widest areas). It's plywood that I cut in a random shape. Dot painting is so easy and fun! Have a great time at the beach!
Octo: So happy for you that your knees just continue to improve!
Runner: Your life sounds full right now AND you find time to run. WTG!
Hello Everyone. Been walking/running each day. Planted our garden earlier this week - 10 tomato plants, 9 okra plants, 2 zucchini plants, 2 cucumber plants, 6 cabbage plants, and kale. We had a really nice rain this evening to help it all grow!
