I unloaded more stuff from the spare bedroom and it's endless walk-in closet. Also bought the paint, brushes, tape etc. etc. {If you want to do some more painting, jo, come over to my house!!!). We leave on vacation Saturday so don't know how deep I want to get into the project before then.Sigh......went to Zumba tonight.0

2Fun,
I was listening to Terry Gross on NPR on the drive home from yoga the other night. She had a stand up comedian on named Tig Notaro. I'd never heard of her. But I listened to the show because Tig had breast cancer and- what got me- was that after her BMX without recon she went on stage and she took off her shirt. She took off her shirt.
My PS told me that I needed recon with a nipple because when I am changing in a locker room, it will look strange to anyone who glances my way. I don't belong to the gym, I said. My thought was, really why does it matter what anyone else thinks? It's my body. It's your body, 2Fun. Do what is right for you.
Here's a little Tig Notaro clip. She's right on:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SW3i9cU96OU0 -
I heard Tig on NPR, funny and real. Aftetwards, I pulled up a video of her show. Real women, real issues. I almost peed on myself from laughter.

I just got done watching 45 minutes of Tig's clips from your link, Falconer. She is terrific. I think I will look for her book.
2FUN, do whatever you are comfortable with. None of us should be doing (or not doing) anything because of what other people think. We each should be doing what is right for us (in all things, not just cancer related things) and what's right for me very well might not be 'right' for the next person)
One more poster from the Middle School wall before I go into full summer mode:

ruth- I am not a good painter. I spend more time correcting my mistakes. Tonight as I was removing the tape from the ceiling I took a chunk of plaster with the tape.. I didn't have any intention of painting the ceiling now that has changed. Good luck with your painting and cleaning out those closets.
I'm in no hurry. So I will take my sweet time. I will use my guest bedroom until the paint job is finished.

I had reconstruction, but there is no way my foobs look real, so if I'm in '"public", I change with my back to other people. It is for my comfort not for others comfort. I have small silicon implants. In clothes, no one would ever know, but naked, well they are foobs. As Ruth said, do what feels good for you, you are the only person that matters.
16K today. HOT all week, in the 90s. Normal is in the 70s for this time of year. No rain in sight!!! So need to remember to water the flowers daily. Forgot last week when DH was gone for 2 days and lost a few plants.

Falconer - so glad you posted Tig...”how you doing, I have cancer”.Breast rebellion from years of insults LOL!!! Awesome stuff, thank you!

TwoHobbies, thanks for the reminder: One lesson cancer taught me is don't wait till next year. Falconer, thanks for the Tig link - too funny! Jo, celebrate it all your way - you deserve it! 2FUN, good on ya for aqua and early after recon I changed at the gym with the same intention - no one noticed. I do show may recon breast to women who are curious. Egads, what a terrific paleo thread you started - active and up beat. Do you crossfit? One of my cancer exercise heroes is Sami Mansfield: https://journal.crossfit.com/article/cancer-saline-2 Pat, what a little sweetie - just adorable! Like that poster Ruth.
I'm up and out for older exercise hour class in a village boy scout hall not too far away, for the 74 - 89 year old women who attend. It's got everything, light hand weights, bands, aerobics, memory game, pelvic floor, flexibility, balance & tai chi, seated or standing. Slowly the class numbers have been building.

Tig is hilarious! Thanks for the link, Falconer. I was expecting her to take her shirt off. I often feel like taking mine off when a mean hot flash strikes. I can relate to her a bit as I also was flat-chested to begin with. But I used to thank my lucky stars I never had to wear a bra. Maybe I shouldn't have done that so much because now I have to wear a bra for symmetry. 2Fun, I don't ever remove my bra in public. I'll keep my sweaty bra on after a gym workout and shower at home (only a 10 minute bike ride away).
Lilacblue, this is a great opportunity for this target population. I can imagine your class will soon be full.

I am back to walking walking walking...My 5 month membership at my gym was up on Saturday, so I had planned to have a cortisone shot to my left wrist and give it a break for 10 days/2 weeks before buying my next pass.
Well...yesterday at the Orthopedist when I said how I rehurt the wrist and all...they took xrays and I have been living with a "broken wrist" for the past 6 weeks or so! Obviously broken in the small bones of the internal wrist complex, but still!!! No wonder it hurt!
The little bones that broke are mainly healed and I was told would have been splinted not put into a cast, but i have been doing 3-5 yoga/pilates classes a week through this. I am more concerned with being healthy and strong for the 5'8" of me than the 2 inches of my wrist.
Tomorrow is my 26th wedding anniversary and we are going to lovely place for dinner, so food porn to share later.
Thursday morning heading off to my 35th college reunion....how can that be!

TT- wrist fractures are very painful. Hairline fractures are a challenge because many are misdiagnosed or do not always show up on x-rays. You definitely have to give the wrist a rest. Keep it splinted. Have fun at your college reunion and happy anniversary

It's a funny thing about babies, everyone sees someone in them, and not necessarily the same person. My daughter thinks he looks like my husband, and a little bit her. People say she looks like me, but no one has ever said the baby looks like me, so I thank you all for that. We face timed yesterday (she wanted to show me her skill with baby wraps), and he was smiling away, melting my heart. All that hair cracks me up, my children were all baldies.
Off to the onc today for my normal 6 month appt. Going to see if I can be done with Anastrazole, it will be 7 years this fall I've been on an AI, I'm ready to be done!

TT beautiful picture of you and your Mom, ouch on the wrist and then doing all your yoga work with the break you are one strong woman. 2FUN I grew up in Australia in the 70s and when you went to buy clothing the changing room was one big room with women in any and all stages of undress so I am one who doesn't have inhibitions if someone looks as I change I don't care but it's how you feel, if you're uncomfortable changing in front of others use the cubicle. Jo congrats on your last chemo. LB I love that your class for older crowd is growing, you really do need to "use it or lose it" and the older we get the more important it is. LB LM Live is at the end of June and the trainers and presenters are doing lots of promoting, the BF/BB one is called twinning and one of the local trainers had me twinning with her - this is for you
Last night was Cardio Dance Party class.

Youch on the wrist, TT. Congratulations on the anniversary! I will be looking forward to the food porn!
Fun pictures, Cheryl.
I went to Zumba & Bone Builders this morning then we started painting, or should I say priming. We have a purple popcorn ceiling (DS's old room, painted purple when he was in 6th grade......many years ago) and some woodwork that will need a separate layer of primer before paint. I just got home from Pound just now and will go back to work for awhile.

Hi all. No weight loss yet though I'm doing more exercising and eating, a little, better. The ice cream is still in the freezer and I haven't touch it but you know how frustration has a way of making you go get a scoop (or two!). I'll give it a few more days to see at least a little movement on the scale.
Did water aerobics class this morning then swam some laps in the pool. Subbed a Walk Away the Pounds class this evening, 4 miles.
Night sculpted friends.

Squats, lunges 50, bridge glute hip thrusts 60, push ups off smith, lat pull down 35, dumbbell rows. 22.5, hip abduct 135, hip add 195, cardio various 40 mins.
What the heck is going on with the world? There is a lovely looking young woman who is a regular at my gym. Today she wore a shirt that had ‘Fuck Haters’ (the irony of that statement is endless) in big bold letters on her shirt. Oh it gets better, she had ‘Kiss My Ass’ stamped on the back of her leggings (excuse allthe language). She has two young children! Did she not consider who she’d offend? I’m no prude and can speak salty, but heck I know where and when to use it. So sad too, she looked so hard in the obscenity outfit. Am I getting old fast or is this acceptable in public? I don’t like to judge. Sheesh!

Cheryl, good warrior 1 and wide wu chi with tigers mouth! Thanks so much for the photos and this week is LM Euro Summit at Barceló Punta Umbría Beach Resort Spain. Most of the UK trainers are there with much of the NZ crew. Lisa Osborne had a bc scare last month: https://www.instagram.com/p/BinO4QfBBz3/?taken-by=lisaosbornebodyattack Isn't there a live in SD? We don't have a Live this year in the UK. Ruth, we have a swimming pool blue walls in DS room from the 4th grade to paint over. Egads, don't see much slogan gym wear in our area as we have nearby a large clothing outlet, that has a Nike, Reebok & Adidas. TrmTab, yeow on unknown broken wrist. Happy anniversary to you and DH.
Off to tai chi - the 24 form this morning. Pilates late afternoon, with BB & Pilates tonight. Sunrise with sun out - yay!

egads. You need to wear a LOVE LOVERS shirt, and a HUG ME stamped on your bum!
My DD is 22 and a bit "angry". Wears more sophisticated phrases that express her generation's frustration with the older generations that have "ruined the world for them". I don't think she is too far off. I was worried about what she had written on her mortar board for graduation and it said "the world is abundant " and there was a large sculpted butterfly pinned to it. I'm glad she can see beauty and possibility too.
Going to try to walk while DS gets wisdom teeth out today

Hello beautiful busy ladies! Have missed checking in here but life got in t he way! I survived the last few week's of crazy. Was officially done with work for the summer last Friday! Still have been running but busy with baseball, setting up new camper at lake, and general end of school year craziness! It felt so good to be done. I keep thinking back to this time last year...the craziness and stress of the diagnosis was at a peak. We made the best of the summer and did our usual as much as we could but dealing with the cancer was the main item on the agenda last summer. I can already feel this summer is going to be better! I am really ready to just have a "normal" summer.
Running 8 miles today...getting in a long run before surgery tomorrow. Have a laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy scheduled. Keeping my fingers crossed its my last procedure for many many years. I am really really tired of doctors and hospitals. My gyn Dr said I should be able to run again in 1 wk. I am counting on it!
Wishing you all wonderful workouts and exercise today!

Patoo, I know it's hard, but just throw that ice cream away! Out of sight, out of mind
I think we have finally got rid of all the little kid colors in the house - last up was the kids bathroom, painted an under the sea aqua - little mermaid style. Purple popcorn ceiling - yikes, that will be a challenge.
So I get to my onc appt. yesterday, and they say your appt. is July 13! Not even sure how I screwed that up. Oh well, wasn't a total loss, treated myself to some retail therapy afterwards. Busy day today, WW meeting this morning, first weigh in in 3 weeks, but feeling optimistic. Then meals on wheels delivery, appt with radiation onc, then going to see Book Club with a friend.

LilacBlue - Sorry for the slow response, I wanted to delve through the link you posted before replying. Thank you for your kind words about my thread, it's a fun way to practice my paleo passion lol. No, I don't crossfit, but did dabble in it at the beginning of my gym membership. It was wonderful, but my eye kept going back to, and heart was left in the weight room. It turns out that I have an addiction to 'iron' lol. I have all the respect in the world for crossfit, it's tough, a lot of fun, and burpees aren't anything to sneeze at! Loved the link, Sami is an amazing example of what can be accomplished post treatment. Her quote "I don't feel like those things limit me anymore," she said. "I feel like I can lead a full, normal life again." speaks volumes, and is very inspirational. Looking through the posted exercises I saw one I'd forgotten about and will be on my agenda today...sumo deadlift. Excellent site, I can see why you follow her! May your WODs make you happy and strong!
P.S. The elderflower & lemon cake. I made a paleo version, and it was yummy no doubt, just a little on the strong 'alchol-ish' tasting side as I only had the option of St.Germaine elderflower liqueur and not a syrup. What did you use? From exercise to cake.....sheesh, I wonder about myself sometimes!

TT, hope the wrist is better. Happy Anniversary! Cheryl, great collage and great form! LB, Spain sounds fantastic. Wish I could be there. Runner, good luck on the surgery tomorrow!!
DD is in the midst of our version of the A-Levels or International Baccalaureate. This week, four hour daily exams for the major subjects of Math, German, French and her concentration of Fine Arts. She's already done with the rest (including English). Then a short break before the oral exams. It's just grueling and I feel I can't be enjoying myself while all this is happening. She was feeling good this morning while reviewing formulas I hadn't seen in 40+ years. I did manage to explain the solution for one geometry problem that had been bugging her.
Salsa last night.

Almost forgot...its National Global Running Day today! Wishing you all happy miles! Just back in from 8 sweaty but happy miles in my favorite running tank! Will catch up on all of you later today! ❤

Egads, the world needs it's mouth washed out with soap. Starting from the top down IMO!
Hope the wisdom teeth extraction went okay, 2FUN.
Patoo, don't do what I did to get rid of the ice cream left over from Memorial Day.... I ATE the rest of the carton!
Pat, Retail Therapy is always appropriate!
Heidi, hope DD's tests well. They sound very stressful. Glad you could resurrect your Geometry. I'm afraid I never understand it well enough in the first place for it to be still hidden in any part of my brain.
Great tee, Runner. You will be SO glad to see the EXIT sign of the hospital after tomorrow!
Busy here. You would almost think that I was trying to avoid painting. Walked with the Wednesday Women. Worked at a ladies luncheon at my church (and it was work;setting up, waiting tables, taking down, washing dishes etc. etc. for 2 1/2 hours), took a dog walk with a friend who is going through a tough time, and went to Step. Now I do have to paint something as DH has been at it all day.

One more thing, the Walking Women stopped by, the soon to be turned into a parking lot, old outdoor pool where all our kids hanged out when they were young. Kind of sad!

2Fun! We are living parallel lives. Last Friday the DD had her wisdom teeth out. She did pretty well though her right side is bruised and she has a black eye. Yup. She did go to work yesterday and today! Hope all goes smoothly for your DS. Last night I awoke at 2:00 bc she was stumbling around looking for her pain meds. Hoping for better nights sleep. Today's exercise was walk two miles rather than run three. I nearly fell asleep in the car when I parked at the trail

Not a good walking day...not motivated to do much. I did take and hear a very good friend (age 87) to a school to talk about her experience growing up in the Holocaust. I've heard her story many times, but I always learn something new. I go visit her every Shabbat afternoon and last week when she told me she was speaking, I was so excited that I was done for the year so I could go with her.
Another record breaking day. I think 95. And . more for the rest of the week.

Nice morning walk before it gets too hot....45 minutes is only 5K . Not ready for summer yet!

As of yesterday a week out from final chemo. Starting to feel strong again, and amazing relief to know that trajectory will continue rather than being smacked down by next taxol.
The closest mtn bike ride to my house is an amazing ride called Mill Creek, which climbs up out of Teton Canyon. If you go far enough up, you can access the entire Grand Targhee trails network. Yesterday I finally had the strength to go beyond the Overlook where the picture was taken, into the bottom bits of the Targhee trails. 4 miles/ 1360' elevation gain. And the little dog LOVES coming along with the bike.

Karen in CO, I hear you on the Denver heat. I have to keep reminding myself that this is paradise compared to the DFW climate, at least during the summer. I drug my sorry @## outside for a 2.8 mile run, not even a 5k! But it was something. When I didn’t want to do anything.
I’m going to Estes Park Wool Market this weekend, looking forward to one or two hikes with family in cooler temps.
