Been doing a lot of walking, (mostly twice around the block for 2 miles) and some gardening. Yesterday went to the air show, and got lot's of walking in, as we went later in the day and had to park in the boonies - there were shuttle buses, but the line for them was so long we decided to walk the 2-3 miles to the show and back (along with hundreds of others). Blue Angels were spectacular, this time we got to see their choreographed entrance routine, what fun!

Varga, its not the band that broke but the part that it attaches to on the Fitbit. Its been a couple months ago so it wasn't quite a year old. I have several bands and none of them work so knew it was the fitbit and not the band. Not thrilled with fitbit after having 2 that only lasted a year, but they seem to be the most popular. bought this on ebay - new but open box - great price. Was headed out for a walk an hour ago, but my DD called me so behind schedule. Yes, I know I can walk and talk, but sometimes I prefer not being attached to the phone when walking. Cooler today than yesterday and not as sunny so walk should be comfortable. Be back later today. Lots to get done.

AmazonFresh is having a 25 cents Haagan Dazs deal so there's 2 flavors of ice cream in the freezer but I am not touching them. Walked around the park while my son practiced baseball and going to the gym with him in a little while. 6 more days of Rads and I take a little break before hormonal therapy.

pulled something in my right shoulder: I felt it happen when I started to trip on a rug: saved my self from a fall, but felt the shoulder go out of wack when I jerked it. Sigh.....may not be able to swim for a few days!

Had back to back out of town specialist doc apts yesterday and today (for stuff unrelated to bc) so haven't done much walking either. Lots of driving. and it is hot here.....Sigh.

Finally getting back up to speed with walking, 16K. Today was the perfect summer weather day - low 80s, blue sky ad light breeze....but its heating back up toward the week-end. Ordered a new Fitbit Alta and it should be here on Friday.

octo- take care of your shoulder. If the pain continues you need to see an orthopedic doctor. Sorry for the lecture but I am an OTR. I still have blisters on the bottom of my feet so I'm not running yet. The blisters are healing nicely but I need to wait a few more days. I don't have access to a swimming pool. So I will continue with my balance ball and resistance bands. Keep up the good work.

Ruth - enjoy your vacation. Lilac great photo. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 96!!! Way too hot for me...Need to make sure I walk early, like by 7:30 and then I'll have to wait till the sun goes down to walk again.

Gave blood today for the first time since before I was diagnosed....it felt so good.....going to become a regular again.

Liz O'Riordian is inspiring and here is her blog on recently found bc recurrence: http://liz.oriordan.co.uk/CancerBlog/local-recurrence/?post=are-you-sitting-comfortably

Windy, cool, overcast day here in the hinterlands of Kent. Husband has been away in Leeds working (returns tonight) and at this moment, washing son's bedding as tomorrow he comes home from uni for the summer. Today, have a Pilates class at 1pm and BB at 6pm. Tomorrow, I'll be attending a workshop on 'Listening & Responding' by Macmillan Cancer Support, the charity that gave Pink Ribbon Pilates a grant. Grateful it's at a hotel not too far away and looking forward to it. I stayed up late last night watching Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri on my laptop in bed. Liked it immensely. Have a active Thursday everyone!

LB I have nothing but respect for Macmillan what a great organization they are most definitely angels on earth.. Octo hope you are on the mend. Nonomimi that ice cream would have lasted about 20 minutes in my freezer, I have no self control when it comes to ice cream. Karen that is smart to get your steps in before the heat hits. Ruth hope you are having a great vacation.

Last night was Body Pump class and today my quads are so sore from all the squatting and squat pulsing, it's my own fault as I haven't done that class in a couple of weeks and it's like starting all over again.

In spite of the heat (I'm in N. Arizona, so not so beastly hot as in Phx), had a wonderful - if sweaty - "walk and talk" with a beast friend; about 3 miles, up and down, through our lovely neighborhood. Later today, I have a light weights routine (have to stay light awhile longer, as I'm just 2 weeks out of SAVI brachytherapy) and some lower body work. It feels SO FREAKING GOOD to be active again even if it's not up to my level prior to surgery/radiation.

Yesterday I retreated to the cool of the lower level of the house, dragged out my old step and pedestals and dusted off a circuit routine that incorporates step/cardio with lower body, upper body and core. I modified to fit current restrictions. Glad I didn't donate that step stuff a few years ago in a cleaning frenzy!

    Onward!

LilacBlue - I went to Uni of Kent, Cantebury 30 years ago for one year. How nostalgic!

Patsy - I am in the same boat, taking it slowly since I am still doing rads. But I never exercised before Dx so doing anything is something. I will go walk/jog the dog today. If you could do what you're doing in AZ, I can do it in CA. I am very low on vitamin D so soaking in the sun may be a good thing.

hbcheryl- body pump sounds serious! I am too out of shape to join a class. Hope I can soon.

LilacBlue - do your docs have you on vitamin D3? My primary care physician put me on 2000IU 10 years ago because even here in Arizona, I didn't have enough D3.

Now that I'm on an AI, my MO has added to that - I am on 5000IU of D3 + 1200mg of calcium (to help prevent/reduce bone loss).

And for exercise, do you have access to a pool? If so, simple water-walking is a GREAT workout and would probably be just fine even though you're doing rads. Water aerobics might be pushing it. Make sure you have good comfortable water shoes and a sunshirt and sunscreen up!

    Hello Fit Ladies,
Tomorrow is my stage two surgery. Been running a bunch and feeling good but the nighttime leg cramps got me good last night. I read somewhere that one cause could be lots of activity (causing muscle fatigue) and low blood sugar. Has anyone heard this? Well, I'll be back in a bit to let you know how it all turned out. Xoxox

LilacBlue, great pic. Falconer, pulling for you. Good luck. Prayers going up. ruthbru, have fun (you always do anyway)

Was a slug today, no exercise but have been at it constantly everyday lately so needed a day off. WATP tomorrow morning then dancing tomorrow evening. Do have an issue in weird spot on bottom of left foot. Right below my big toe so it's not the ball of the foot because that's in the middle, correct. Don't know, it just has been hurting for about 3 days. Been trying to just stretch it out by flexing the big toe. Will try that for a few days to see if it stops before going to foot and ankle doctor about it. Can't let it go too long as I am compensating by walking on the outside of the foot which, Dr Patoo, thinks puts my knee out of alignment. Weird.

    Night sculpted friends.

Falconer - good luck tomorrow - best wishes for an easy and speedy recovery.

19K steps today. 45 minute walk this morning and again tonight. Lots of steps in the house walking back and forth from the bedroom to kitchen. I had 2 "under the bed" type containers and went through them today. I hadn't gone through either in years....found things from 10+ years ago - most of it I threw away. Now ready to tackle the boxes under the bed and hope to tackle some of the way too much stuff in the crawl space.

patoo, for a quick "bandaid" for your foot, drop a pair of off the shelf insole into your shoes. Get the ones that have a rigid arch support. Sometimes they are marketed for planear fascitis. See if that helps take the pressure off. It may/may not. If not, off to the PT/podiatrist /ortho dr

    Hi Everyone!!

    I hope everyone's doing well.

I'm so far behind on here!!

LilacBlue - That is a beautiful picture...thanks for sharing!!!

Monday it was my favorite "Insanity" class. And - the instructor - killed us with burpees, running with HIGH knees and tuck-jumps (which I still suck at - LOL). Sweated BUCKETS and felt extremely good.

    Tuesday - stationary bike.

Wednesday - night off working out. Yesterday - crazy day and couldn't make it to the gym. :-(

Tonight - Turbo Kick - honestly can't wait - as jonesing for those endorphins!!!
