Heidi- I wear UV protective shirts for running. They are not too hot. I discovered them approximately 3 to 4 years ago. I cannot live without them. Miami is hot most of the time so I practically live in these shirts whenever I go running or working in the yard. There are a lot of brands out there. I prefer lightwight shirt with cooling.
Thursday my radiologist is going to complete the process and start radiation the same day. My mold was made last Tuesday so there's one more process I have to go through Thursday. What's that's completed they will start my radiation immediately afterwards.

wow... I am so behind...traveling and working....but during my latest travels (to New Mexico) I did LOTS of walking...just got home today, hope to catch up soon!

I just bought a short sleeve rash guard, but haven't tried it yet. I bought one size up as my size was tight, especially the sleeve...not sure how they are supposed to fit, but like the slightly looser top.
Sweet dreams

Karen- I got mine one size bigger to. I wear mine in the pool and like to keep my mismatch boobs on the down low. Their not that bad but the radiation side is perker and the lights always on!
Finished up yesterday with almost 10 miles. Part of which was mindless wondering through Walmart. My Daddy had eye surgery and can not drive and Momma wanted to go to Walmart so I took her. Lots to do today. The family is coming to our house for the 4th for a pool party. Hope to get in the pool today. Walmart took my pool time yesterday but if Momma's happy everyone is happy ;o)

Another early-morning walk. At least I slept in until six today!

I have ordered a UV protecting and cooling shirt to try! I can't wait for it to arrive. Yesterday I ended up mowing the lawn for exercise. Planned adventure cancelled because husband isn't feeling well. Today I got out on the bicycle - rode south to a lake and around and back -1 hr. Very pleasant day. There's nothing like a couple days of 95 and heat index of 110 to make you think 84 degrees is pleasant. LOL.

Zumba & Bone Builders this morning, cleaned a little and starting taking down pictures, patching holes, dragging books, picture albums, and china downstairs in advance of our living/dining room part of the house updating project, went to Pound tonight & am now sitting here doing NOTHING!

Water aerobics then lap swimming this morning, a little dancing this evening.
Have a good night my sculpted friends.

Treated myself to a pedi this afternoon. First of the summer. I don't get manicures as the polish only lasts a few days, sometimes will put clear nail polish.
Good walking day.

Happy 4th all. Haven't posted for awhile...gave my wrist a 2 week break from active classes to let the undiagnosed broken wrist time to heal! Have been back to classes for 2+ weeks now and am off to a special July 4th Vinyasa in half an hour. Since my Friday pilates class was permanently cancelled have been trying alternatives to fill out my 5 classes M-F, pure barre, club pilates, but haven't found something that I really like enough to have a second membership to another exercise studio...oh well.
On the goal of 10 pounds in 2 months...!!!...good luck. I can't do that anymore, but try to average 1/2 a pound a week. I weigh myself everyday and Mr. Fitbit keeps the averages and graphs so as long as things are sort of on the downward slope...sometimes I am jumping on one foot with my head tilted to see the downward slope...I feel okay. On my slow mode weight loss, I am down 15 lbs since January 1st...just a couple of lbs to go. Will start the process of finding a new PS for my revision after my MO appointment in August.
Karen - I get a mani/pedi every 4 weeks year round...but only do a moisture maintenance mani, I can't keep polish on either but really like to have my hands cleaned up and love the hot wax moisture treatment...and need to keep my toes in shape for the yoga studio!
Enjoying Wimbolden...Happy 4th, be safe, TT

The Walking Women ventured out this morning. I skipped the 'going to breakfast' part to get ready for our backyard picnic that starts at 1:00. Happy 4th; eat lots, enjoy family and/or friends time.

Mornin' Glories! Walked yesterday morning, then watered and weeded the flowerbeds. Squirrels are eating my sunflowers, taking the tops clean off then hauling the seed-heads up into a tree to eat. Annoying but marvelous in a way. Cleaned the house then chilled out. Not sure if thunderstorms put the kibosh on local fireworks as was in bed by 9. Back to work today.

Pound, walked puppies, did a little work on the house, and lots of researching/planning for an upcoming trip with the ladies of my family.

I also did a bit of housework and de-cluttering, then I swam laps for 45 minutes or so.
Hope all have a great weekend!

Took a break from exercise on the 4th, except for vacuuming, mopping and throwing out a stack of paperwork and magazines. This morning I got back at it with a 28 minute walk and about 30 minutes of weeding. It was hot and muggy again today, altered my walk a little to go into the shady area, but then the mosquitoes starting attacking me, so that was the end of my desire to walk.

Warm, sunny morning. This weekend I have a yoga adjustments workshop to attend on both Saturday and Sunday in Tunbridge Wells. Looking forward to yoga immersion and missing the big match of England vs Sweden. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Teaching Pilates at the gym at noon, and afterwards, seated tai chi to severe Parkinson's folks in a nearby church hall.

Varga, we enjoyed the southern charm of your home state!
Lilac, good luck in your workshop. Are you feeling better about giving adjustments? We've been watching lots of World Cup, but with my DS away at camp, it isn't as much fun. How kind of you to teach a chair class to Parkinson's patients. You're so good.
Hi Everyone!
We returned from the East Coast tour last night, on our way north stopped in Bethesda MD to see DH s aunt- thought of NatsFan as there were baseball billboards all around-and then to see my parents at the Jersey Shore. I worked in the garden at 9:00 last night, weeding, the only time cool enough to do so! This weekend we have a birthday party for the little DS, who turned five on the fourth. Summer hit the ground running here, and I'm definitely trying to catch it!
Happy weekend, all!

Tried Club Pilates this morning...had never been on a reformer machine before, but it was okay. The same exercises as pilates mat but on a machine. It is a franchise exercise shop...a little high pressure on sales. Enjoying watching Wimbolden...Serena just won! Happy weekend everyone, TT

i would love to use the reformer, but it is soooo expensive here!
Did 90 min aquatic exercise and 45 min push mowing

Yes, this was a free initial class...but the class rate is $25...I pay $60 a month at my yoga/barre/core studio that used to have pilates mat...

Falconer, I hear you on the weeding. The only issue with 9 pm is the mosquitos have been horrible here. But TODAY -absolutely gorgeous day today. NNE wind brought us 75 degrees, and not muggy! I took the opportunity to finish my sunny spot weeding - an hour and a half of that, and then I went for a 40 minute walk at the lake.
I keep forgetting that Wimbledon is taking place. I will have to try to remember to watch this weekend.

Falconer, I don't feel 100% knowing my adjustments, yet more comfortable. Hoping today will upskill and offer more confidence. I've been teaching this particular seated tai chi class since last September. Was twice a month and now 3 Fridays a month. They really like it, as it's relaxing and it reduces anxiety. Most tai chi classes are taught with your back to the class and I teach, seated facing towards them, mirroring (like I do all my classes). I'm certified in tai chi for health, tai chi for beginners, tai chi for arthritis and seated tai chi. This is one of the form that we are on now in the clip. TrmTab & 2FUN, hear ya on the cost of reformer classes. They abound in London yet here in the hinterlands of Kent, know of only a few. I've always have wanted to learn reformer. We used to have a women named Joy who taught Pilates that was on this thread and I think she taught reformer, as well as mat.
For a few years, we rented a house close to the tennis courts in Wimbledon. Wimbledon is the heart of tennis and you do know it when you go and see for yourself. Off to the yoga workshop and go England!

Beautiful morning! Will walk down to the Farmer's Market, then head up to mom's. Plan to hit the gym on the way home.

I am heading out for a training ride of 25-30 miles and then to the farmers market where I will have a late breakfast or lunch plus stock up on fresh fruits and veggies for the week. It's delightfully cool this morning, and we had rain last night so everything is very green. We have some hot weather ahead. This will make for a hot Seattle-to-Portland, but also usually comes with a tailwind out of the north, so in some ways I expect it to be easier.
I had a flat during my 60 mile training ride on the 4th, and suspected all was not well with my tires which were starting to show wear. I have learned that changing tires sooner rather than later is a good thing. In this case, one had separated internally so my bicycle wasn't safe to ride! All is well now, and I have two brand new tires, the most wonderful sight. I will try them out this morning. As 28 mm, not 25 mm. It's supposed to make for a smoother ride, and I am all for that idea.
Yesterday, I was able to book the Airbnb for my upcoming trip to London in October. I will be staying a friend for much of the time, but will also spend a week in Central London. Found
a place on Portobello Road in an artist’s house. She has a family and cats, and
the place is unique with a lot of antiques but not upscale which is just fine.
Bed looks cozy and I will have access to the kitchen so I can make tea in the
AM. This should be great fun. It is central and quite cheap. I am so excited!!!Amazingly, with all the time I have spent in London over the years, I have never been to the Portobello Road Market. I expect a "find" or 2, not to mention good cheap eats.
One thing I found interesting is that everyone offers wifi and a place to work. Which reminds me that I need the right plug (or power cord) for UK outlets as well as connectivity for my mobile phone. Otherwise, I am completely set. I am so excited to be spending 2 weeks somewhere, something I haven't done since my corporate days. More to come as I am eyeing cycling holidays of Central Europe as well as the trip to the Inner Hebrides I would love to do next year.
More to come. Unfortunately, need to do some work today and tomorrow, but that is fine as have enough time for fun. One more week at the nonprofit, and then just some contract work writing grants as well as my market research consulting work. A well-earned milestone. I am so excited! - Claire

went for a walk with the dog. Crazy hot here and sweating just sitting around. Good for detox.

It is boiling hot here too. The heat index was 107, which we are not used to around here!!!
I did a yoga DVD this morning & then painted and ripped out carpet. I didn't get that many steps but should get some credit for climbing up and down and balancing on top of a ladder on one leg for much of the day.

We had cool weather today. The high might have been 73. It's been in the high 80's for over a month. I'm low on steps today to. I went to PT at 8:30 this morning and that got my routine off. It's rained off and on all day so no pool exercise today. I went to a costume designer fashion show last night. There was four categories. Paper, lights, hardware and restorative history. All the designers in each category had to make the costumes out of the category title. The dress is made out of paper or gorgeous. The ones made out of Hardware were interesting the lighting ones were unique and the restorative history or gorgeous. I was wiped out today after being out late last night. Tomorrow is a new day hopefully I'll make up my steps!
Good night ladies!

We are finally out of the six day heat wave here. It was crazy hot!! The temps were great with dry air today. After two days of weeding in high heat and humidity, today felt great. We took advantage and finished weeding along with removing grass andmulching the flower beds. Between the past few days of getting back into Zumba and water fitness, catching up on reorganization and cleaning the house and weeding, my muscles are letting me hear about it. Picked up our bikes from being tuned up and looking forward to riding soon.

Another beautiful day here, headed out soon for a walk.
