Lilac, so sorry about your friend.
Cheryl - looks like you had a great time!
Patoo, congrats on 10 years.
Ruth, have a nice mountain vacation.
Octo, hope you heal quickly.
Trying to get back in the swing of regular exercise. Yesterday was meals on wheels so I got my steps in, but it just isn't enough. Last few nights arthritis has been acting up. So this morning I got up and did Classical Stretch for the first time in forever, going to try to at least commit to that, I know from experience that the stretching and strengthening helps my arthritis aches. Dermatologist appt. today, I'm quite tan so he won't be happy Then later a trip to the beach for a free blues concert, so more steps and dancing!

Love the balloon!
Yep, it is definitely tendonitis, but the good news is that it already is feeling a bit better today with elevation, ice, rest. Going to try and stay off of it today, which really is hard. But I can still swim laps!

It hasnt been quite as hot as expected so DS and I did get out for a walk this evening making sure to choose the shadiest routes. I also did a little more weeding right back in the flower bed that I just weeded a few days ago. Never ending exercise opportunity at my house!
Lilac so sorry for your unexpected loss of your friend. Infection can still be quite a foe. OMG the balloon. He seems to be making enemies every day overseas too.
Patoo congrats on you milestone! woo-hoo.
Octo take care of yourself.
Falconer, we had a huge Linden at my old house. And two beautiful maples and a magnolia that could not be killed and a huge black walnut tree. I miss those trees. In this house I only have 3 tiny trees now.

Lilac, so very sorry about your loss. It's made harder when unexpected.
Thanks everyone for the congrats. Now just waiting for Feb 2019 when my 10 years on arimidex is over but I'm guessing my MO may want me to stay on indefinitely since she feels I've never had any problems with it so why not. We'll see. Don't necessarily want to continue; scared to stop with ILC, the sneaky one.
No exercise today as getting more involved in volunteer activities, so have to rework my calendar! But may pop in a DVD later because I have to try and keep up with you all.
Later sculpted friends.

I went to my first Zumba class. I hate exercising but I have to keep pushing myself. :

Good for you nono! Keep at it because it eventually becomes a habit.

Walked/ran this morning. Sticky hot outside and I have to make myself go. Picked more blueberries and made a blueberry crisp. It was delicious!

Blew off the gym yesterday and did yard work instead, why of why do weeds grow so prolifically I really had more of a weed garden but I showed them who's boss. Tonight was Sprint.

Falconer, thanks for your comments - terrific solo trip you are on and I love trees, looking at the tops of them right now out this second floor window.
Thanks again everyone for you support and no word as to when the funeral is, as they are doing a post mortem. Warm, overcast morning here and rain slated later today. Pilates at noon and seated tai chi afterwards. Tonight, I'm attending a yoga flow session with live music, plus a pot luck dinner afterwards and have a salad planned to take with me. Looking forward to that. Have a terrific start to the weekend everyone!

Lilac, so sorry to hear about your friend. I love the concept of seated tai chi. Nonomimi, I am also a lazy one. I would never have guessed in my 40s that I'd be into exercising daily in my 50s. But Zumba is a great way to start. I started with walking and had to build up to Zumba. My problem now at least for the summer when it's too hot to go to the gym (no airconditioning) is deciding what to do on any given day. Abs? Arms? Legs? Cardio? HIIT? A combination? Join a tennis club? Squash it? I need a plan.
Yesterday was a walk with DD and an arm workout with dumbbells.

I practice yoga everyday, not only for physical problem but also for anxiety relief. So inspired to hear about the workout stories here. Keep it up and it will pay off.

Started working out again since it finally got comfortable enough since the heat wave last week

Heidi, I am the same way, I need a plan, and then a back up plan!
Right now I can do daily aquatic class, but when the fall comes and school starts, I will only have access to 2 night/week of aquatics, so I need to have a plan ready so I don't slip.
I'm heading off there now. I'm thankful the last 2 days I have woken up late but with very little joint pain /side effects from aromatase inhibitors. YAY.

Good Morning. Another thunderstorm last night. I decided it was time to start using the treadmill. I'm having a great workouts on the treadmill when I felt something furry at my ankle. Thinking I had a rat in my house I screamed bloody murder and tripped trying to get off the treadmill. Turned out the imaginary rat was my 65 lb retriever. Ted the retriever had decided to join me on the treadmill. A year ago Ted had a leg injury. Part of his recuperation process was building up his stamina. I used my treadmill and a kids swimming pool. Good old Ted must have missed the treadmill and decided to join me in my workout. So today I have two badly sprained toes. In the future I will put him in another room during my treadmill workout. I did feel very foolish. I should have turned the damn machine off before trying to escape the rat. Life goes on.
Lilac- sorry to hear about your friend passing.

Jo, what a story about your treadmill mishap. Sorry you injured your toes, but you must have scared Ted as much as yourself. I'm sure you don't have rats running around your house, but isn't it funny how our minds go to something we are most scared of, whether it's believable or not? Hope you heal up soon.
Still doing classical stretch every day, and getting my steps and active minutes most days. The stretching is definitely helping with arthritis/AI aches (I can never tell what is causing my symptoms). Probably won't get enough steps today, off to spend the afternoon on the boat with some friends.

pat- you are correct. I don't generally have rats in my house. With six dogs and 3 cats I don't usually worry about rodents in my house. My screaming and tripping over Ted did not scare him at all. I could have sworn he had a smile on his face. Enjoy the day on the boat with your friends. Sounds wonderful. If my if my toes feel good tomorrow morning I'm running a 5k. Then it's The Wimbledon finals. After the finals I have to go to work. I'm looking forward to a good finals match between Kerber and Williams.
I'm going to start looking into an evenung exercise class. You were correct it's always good to have an alternate plan in place. I'm going to cut back on my outside activities due to the extreme heat. And I don't always enjoy working on the treadmill so I need to look at alternatives.

Speaking of treadmills...I have a new office that has a "dormer" window -- an alley way that is maybe 6-7 feet long and 4 feet wide...perfect for a treadmill!
I have never bought a treadmill before, but have used them lots at the gym -- but those machines at $$. What house grade machines have folks been happy with??? Not very handy so don't want something that requires a lot of building.
Oh, and I would be walking on it, so don't need something extra rugged for running, just walking.
Have gotten to the gym each day M-F this week, yeah, 2 weeks in a row. I'm pulling for Venus tomorrow. Happy weekend. TT

Walked to the store to get milk for dinner tonight and then home

Trmtab- you do not have to spend a lot of money on your treadmill if you're only walking on it. The newer treadmills offer higher speeds plus elevation. I bought one for my father approximately 2 years ago. He uses it daily. He walks at a very nice clip on it. Is your dormer area covered?

I cleaned out my pantry yesterday, part of my getting ready to declutter and move process, but I found it was a bit too much time on my poor foot..so today my exercise was swimming laps. 45 mins. Felt great, especially since we've had triple digits all week!
happy Friday, all!

octo, 45 min of laps is awesome!
Yesterday was one year since my last surgery, yay! I'm giving myself another 12 months to optimize my strength , speed and endurance!
I had the awesome aquatics gal again today. She was pretty funny, splashing any person with no hsir ( older bald gentlemen ), and when one older lady didn't look too interested in doing intervals she jumped into the pool with her clothes on to encourage her!
I did 1 hr and 15 min. That means I did 5.5 hrs in 5 days. My goal is 60 min a day, or 7 hrs per week.
Tomorrow we go to a memorial celebration. My friends DH passed away a year ago in another country. Complex situation. She's having an all day party to remember him, and fireworks at night. I feel sad for her, as she is so giving, and had a lot of financial resources that she shared.
We will go as an entire family. I should plan to exercise early in the am

Off to Portland in the wee AM and hoping to do 12 in a row of the Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic. Will let everyone know on Monday how it went. Right now, channeling those well-deserved finish line beers. A girl needs some kind of motivation.
My secondary goal is not to die of heat stroke as will be in the 90s on Day 2. - Claire

Just a quick checkcheck-in. We are having lots of fun, getting in lots of steps, and no downtime in Colorado. I'll post more and send out pictures when I get a chance (which might not be until I get home!). Keep on keeping on! 😊

Be careful, Claire and go, go, GO! Jo, funny story on the treadmill. Hope the foot is better.
My original plan for this morning did not pan out (woke up too late, plus DH and DD needed help finding things for their bike ride) so have to do something now because it will be another summer birthday party tonight. The back up plan is Zumba on YouTube.

Jo hope your toes are feeling better, your boy probably misses his treadmill time. TT look on OfferUp or LetGo for a treadmillyou can find some real bargains. 2 FUN what a lovely wat your friend is remembering her DH. Sounds like you're having fun Ruth. Octo and Claire take it easy those temps are no joke it has been unbearable.
Last night was Zumba in a very hot and sweaty room

TrmTab, I second what Cheryl said - so many used treadmills for sale or sometimes even free. Too often a treadmill just becomes a place to hang your clothes on, so people move on. Great idea to add it to your office.
Lovely day on the water yesterday, today is housework, bills, and general catching up. Did classical stretch this morning, feeling a bit looser already.

Jo - covered? yes it is in my office...but it has a 10 foot ceiling I guess...I'm 5'8" and am no way near the ceiling if I stretch up.
Will check out Offerup and Letgo...would be happy to get a deal, but also would like to have something delivered as heavy is not good for me to carry.
Walked to farmer's market this morning, 45 minutes roundtrip. TT

Walked in the mall while looking for a dress for a Fall wedding.

Jo, hope you are mended and agree with HeidiHill, twas a funny story. Go for it Claire! Ruth, good to read the trip is fun. 2FUN, I have no doubt you will make your goal sooner than expected and that is a nice memorial celebration. Octo, excellent laps!
After teaching BB this morning got on the highspeed train to St. Pancras station in London to meet up with a friend of mine who lives in Hawaii and stays in the summer in both Paris & London. We met twenty one years ago when I first moved to Paris. Truly amazing woman, eye surgeon, power walks 50 miles a week and only 88 years young! Well, this has been a weird few days with Trump here and how poorly it all has played out (how else could it go?), protest nation-wide. This article sums it up: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jul/13/special-relationship-trump-and-mays-is-almost-pathological-john-crace

LB I couldn’t believe the Queen fiasco, you know he was appraised of protocol ughhhhh.
Went to a Body Combat Master Class this afternoon there is a training going on not too far from me, class was packed with instructors getting in one last practice before launch week which is next week here, all new releases for the classes. Then I’ve washed my car and more impressive I actually washed the house windows and sliding door and also took down the kitchen blinds and scrubbed them, they are sparkling white an now I am officially exhausted.
