Hiked 6.6 miles yesterday! This is a view of my town. A friend invited me to go with her and her sons. She is the same friend that got me out cross country skiing in the middle of my depression. She does not have cancer, but has obese parents so she has committed herself to exercising regularly. Running, hiking, biking. She is my inspiration, besides you guys, of course. 😀
JaBoo, I haven’t done enough trail clearing to share pictures, so hopefully this will do for now. Have a great weekend!0 -
Peregrinelady, it really must be a wonderfull place to live in - the lake and the hills, wow. beatifull! I was just curious what the forests around your place look like, so I think this pic is more than enough for me. thanks!

life, I'm working into it.
I'm a year out since my last surgery, and it's a slow process for me.

Beautiful, beautiful picture!
Okay, now I'm going back into the basement to work some more........

Hi Ginger! So glad the weather has turned gorgeous for you as you sail along Father Hudson.
Here's a song that my kids and I always sing when we go to the river

Welcome to Life and Miranda. Keep at it everyone.
So my BS wrote a grant; the services I received yesterday were free! I had a lovely yoga class and a terrific massage. Their dietician just had a baby so she's scheduling phone consults. Dr. Khera at Columbia Memorial Health is da bomb

I cleaned a medical facility that I've been cleaning for the last 10 years. I have taken some time off from cleaning during chemo as it was getting tougher and tougher. It takes about two and a half hours. I sweep, vacuum and empty around 250 trash cans and then rolled the bin out to the dumpster.
Can I say that was my exercise today? Because it completely wiped me out and I had to go home and take a nap.
I was just saying to myself I remember when I used to be able to clean that place and then come home and mow the lawn or clean the house. GEESH! Will my energy ever come back?

Life- I think that sounds like plenty of exercise. It takes a while but your energy will return.
Falconer- thanks for the song. We’ve been pretty lucky so far given that the forecast for the whole trip has been thunderstorms. Yesterday afternoon we had some bad thunderstorms and wind but for less than an hour. Today was nice and sunny. The ride up the river is so beautiful!
Perigrinelady- that’s a gorgeous photo

Ginger....have been enjoying your shots of the Hudson as well as NYC. One of the most memorable experiences of my life was taking the train from NYC to Plattsburgh. The Hudson was absolutely glorious as was the trip along Lake Champlain. I used to go walking at Constitution Marsh in Cold Spring occasionally too. The Cold Spring waterfront is worth a visit too, and there used to be a jazz band playing there in the summer.
I will be off Wednesday to do some camping on the Olympic Peninsula and the Lavender ride on Saturday. After a very toasty most of July, the weather is about to change and it could be weather ranging from high 40s to low 60s. Better pack my extra down comforter and woolies, as well as may need a rain jacket. Tomorrow, it promises to be hot so an early AM cycle, and then tubing!! I haven't done this since my teens when we used tubes from tractor tires. Suspect the new gear is a bit different
I did a ride today when it was cool followed by a trip to the Market where I was able to secure pasture-raised chicken legs for the Big Dinner I have planned. These are as pricey as steak, but ever so good. I managed to get in 3 miles of walking too.
Fish for dinner tonight, along with fresh vegetables I bought. I love these summer meals, and one thing that hot weather brings is amazing tomatoes. Plus basil for Salad Caprese which I have ready to go.
Think time to head to my deck..... - Claire

Ive been quite active this weekend since weve had a sunny and “normal hot” weekend-80ish and not too humid. Yesterday my son, dog and I went to the park for our Hiit run walk. Then I didnt want to go indoors so I did an hour and 15 minute bike ride on one of my favorite trails. Today I mowed front and back yard and pulled weeds for 85 minutes total. Now of course I am starved which is the only downside.
Peregrinelady what a beautiful vista.
Life1963you will be normal again. I remember not being able to walk around the block and the fear that it was permanent. It isnt.

Juar did a yoga DVD and spent a little time on the treadmill. Some touch up painting, a few pictures to hang, and then my part of the remodel will finally be done. Whew!

Yay, Ruth, done is good!
Welcome LIFE1963, ramping up is better than diving in IMHO. Do what you can and feel good about it.
Pleasant weather continued through the weekend. Walked yesterday morning then went to visit mom. All is well there. Walked this morning, watered & weeded, then went to matinee of Mr. Rogers movie. Fond memories and interesting from adult perspective. He really was a force for good.

Gorgeous scenery, Heidi!!! I was just thinking how fit the cows must be and how good their milk must taste. No wonder the cheese is fabulous.

Heidi those are my dream pictures! From the look of them and from your nickname - it must be in the Alps. Where? I love the Alps, we go there every summer, but not this year, for obvious reasons. I so very much hope to see the Alps again...
No daily exercise today to post, I just came home from AC chemo.

Just a quick Hello from Ireland. Having a fabulous time. Left Dublin this morning and now in Limerick. This is a picture of my sisters and me in Glendalough and one of me at Hill of Tara.

More great pictures! Thanks, Wonderland!
Okay, now I am done, done with the house. I am psycho about putting just the right picture, or vase, or whatever in just the right place which is why it takes me so long to get everything back together. I went to Zumba tonight & may sign off and do a little yoga at home.

Wonderland, what beatiful pictures! I can totaly imagine the place, I've been there some 10 years ago. Wonderland in a wonderfull country 🙂

wonderland, love the pic with your sisters! Ireland sounds very mysterious to me.
Jaboo, you guessed right! This is a marker on a history trail where I biked yesterday.
Lumnezia and Vals founded the Grissons (Graubünden) in 1424. According to another marker first mention of Lumnezia was 800 AD. Christianization was circa 400. This is the history trail

What a nice, wide trail! And gorgeous scenery. I want to go there some day. You are very fortunate to live where you do, Heidihill.
Glad you are done with your project, Ruth. We bought a fixer upper last year, almost down to the studs, so we have a continuous project.
Kayaking today.0 -
Wonderland I love your pics of Ireland. Being of Irish descent it is one of my favorite countries. We had our family reunions there approximately four years ago. My whole family rented out some castles and spent three weeks in Ireland. It was fabulous. Great pictures bring back some good memories. Thanks for sharing

Heidihill, you actually live in Graubuenden? What a dream place to live in! I've never been there but it's deff in our plans sometime in the future, if I'm lucky enough to be granted some future, that is. We spent uncountable holidays in Austrian Alps, biking and hiking, and Slovenia too...Hope to go there again

Went to cancer rehab center today. Rode the bike for 20 minutes. Then did leg and arm exercises with weights and bands. My question is my arm that had the 23 lymph nodes has a hard lump in it now down by the elbow. Anyone out there experience weird things like that in their arm after surgery then got into weight training again? I am thinking that it's either super tight muscles or fluid buildup from working the muscles.

Zumba in the morning, POUND tonight.
Life, I would get that lump checked out before I did any more arm work. Better to be safe than sorry.

Life - I had a lump at my elbow December this past year . It didn't hurt it was perfectly round it moved a little bit. Turned out to be cellulitis! I was so surprised because I thought cellulitis hurt . I wear a compression sleeve, use a flexitouch pump and sleep in a night garment so I had no idea that the lump was turning bright red. Better get it checked like Ruth said just to be safe.

The Walking Women hiked around on a beautiful trail frequented by cyclists and cross country runners. It's a nice, cool day so I also walked the puppies this afternoon. Tomorrow we take off for a family reunion in Wisconsin; lots of time in the car, then lots of eating and visiting. We will be back home late Sunday.

Took off to the California Central Coast for a few days
